Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff, lovely food at a range of prices, all equally affordable to your pocket.

Had a great family meal here on Friday night, food was tasty and a lot of it. The place was quiet for a Friday evening which surprised us as we have been here a number of times and the food has always been fab.

I ordered a takeaway and was disappointed with the food for the following reasons... The pastry on the starter dish sigara boregi, was not crispy and undercooked. The chicken kebab was tasteless and there were no side sauces that came with the meat which made the food dry and even more tasteless. The side salad that came with the kebabs was old wilted leaves and the red cabbage pickle were sliced in huge chunks with no pickling flavour at all. It was expensive for a takeaway x 2 kebab main dishes and x2 starters cost £45.00 Sorry, I gave you a try and will not return.

If you want to stated at throughout your meal then come to this place. Waiter had a terrible attitude and never took his eyes off us. Came here to check this place out, board outside £15.95 - inside also with its said £15.95 Ask for the bill and got a hand written bill came, and we was give a bill of £18.99 each and not £15.95 as shown. He charged us more than the display menu. Told us he gave us a complimentary free ice cream, the waiter constantly stared at us, and we felt extremely uncomfortable. As for the food, it was just normal mediocre food. Definitely will not be returning to this place.

Excellent service from the friendly staff. Very nice food , the silver platter is very good value. Would certainly recommend dining here.

The bread that came with the starters was fresh and delicious. Portions were very generous, with staff being helpful in boxing up leftovers. Parking was right out front which was ideal. Staff were very attentive and the atmosphere and decoration was lovely.

If Customer satisfaction is when our exoectations are exceeded then this evening that was the case. It was our first visit, lovely decor, tasty food, generous portions, easy parking and friendly service. We will be coming again! Many thanks. Ian

We booked a table for 14 people, we had to sit on separate tables but that was fine, restaurant was full, starters were arrived in 15 minutes, and we didn't have to wait for the main courses after starters were cleared, meats were cooked to perfection on the grill, vegetarian mousakkas was very tasty and also kids were happy with their meals, it was a efficient service including drinks, everyone was happy with their meals, thank you so much for accommodating our group, meals and the service was excellent. Myself and my partner visited the EFES tonight. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, the service was fast and food cooked fresh. We had the 2 courses for £14.95 which was brilliant. The Turkish flatbread and dips were yummy and our mains were delicious and fresh. We went home very full and happy customers - thank you.

We ate here on the last Monday of the eat out to help out scheme. The restaurant seems to be very popular and was very busy. We had starters to share, I had a vegetable mossaka and my partner and daughter chicken from the grill. There was plenty of food to take away in a doggy bag. We eat there last night 19 Aug 20 and the food and service were excellent. The portion sizes were big even though we eat off the 2 course set price menu. The staff were really helpful and I would definitely eat there again. The food was fantastic and great value for money.

This restaurant has provided an excellent and valuable service for my family, whilst we have been extremely vulnerable to Corona Virus. They have organized regular deliveries to our house and the quality of the food has been excellent.

We were spending the day in Formby, so after a day on the beach we decided to go for food. Sat outside in the sun with a Turkish beer and ordered the sharing platter which was fabulous. The bread, chilli sauce, houmous, meats, all were beautiful and if we lived locally we'd no doubt eat here every week staff couldn't be more helpful. Great food but the service could be a little better. Our waiter didn’t know the menu at all, and was quite slow, also he said the eat out to help out scheme isn’t for children’s meals... it is, but because were in a rush I just paid and left without arguing. The staff on the whole were very helpful though and the food is delicious.

Despite being within walking distance we have only visited this restaurant a handful of times. That is going to change. Visited yesterday evening and the staff couldn’t have been more on the ball. Anthony, Arran and Michelle were so attentive and the food was simply spot on. Chicken Lamb combination excellent. Will be back very soon.

I have just come home after visiting this fab restaurant. The food was excellent, the staff were so warm and friendly definitely a place to eat out. The restaurant is nicely decorated. We arrived in time for our reservation to which the manager had no idea of the time so we waited whilst he cleaned two tables. Half an hour later he asked what drinks we want Ten minutes later he took our food orderA random piece of bread then turned up on the table. Then two minutes later another piece of large bread was offered. The starter was distinctly average. My mum ordered hummus, to which she just got hummus, no bread to eat it with or any cutlery! Then another hour wait and the main came for the three other guests I was eating with. Five minutes later and mine turned up after they’d served a different table. This was tasty however the portion size a bit small. Overall if you like slow service and chasing staff for drinks who then don’t take the empties and watching confused staff walk around then your food eat here. However I won’t be returning!

Booked here for Sunday lunch based on the reviews - and we were not disappointed!First impressions were good. The waiter who greeted us was wearing a mask and there was plenty of hand sanitiser, and tables were well spaced.The complimentary flat bread and dips were delicious. My partner is vegetarian and was impressed by the good selection of vegetarian dishes on offer. She had the stuffed vine leaves followed by vegetarian moussaka. I had the calamari followed by the grill combo. The food was excellent and lived up very well to the good reviews.We finished off with Greek coffees, at the suggestion of the waiter, sat outside in the sun - excellent!.

We ate here on Friday 31 July and had the mixed grill, Guvek and a lamb Iskender Kebap The food was amazing and the service was very good. Cooked to perfection and tasted very authentic. It was our first time here by we will definitely be returning soon. If you are thinking of going, I would 100% give it a try. You won’t be disappointed.

A really delicious meal, with excellent service. It can be quite a challenge to find a really tasty vegetarian meal, but all of the vegetarian choices in Effes are excellent and Michelle our waitress helped select choices that we really enjoyed.

Visited with friends for a birthday celebration. First time there for me.Can't praise it highly enough. Food was delicious. All our starters and main courses arrived at the same time. Me and my girlfriend went for tea and enjoyed every bit of it. They have hand sanitizer and that at the door when you arrive and keep to the social distancing. We had starters which were both very nice and then she had the meatballs and I had the mixed grill which was amazing. Would definitely return. Our waiter Aaron was a very nice and helpful chap. We came from Oldham for a day at the beach and turned up at the restaurant just after lunch to book a table for 5.30pm. It was a lovely experience. We felt safe and welcome, the food was tasty and service of a high standard. Michelle was particularly friendly and attentive. Wouldn't hesitate to return here next time we visit Formby.
