The food is average but the service is poor. We have ordered twice some olive oil and salt for our food and they never arrived while the restaurant was almost empty and the waiters having a good time together. Very disappointing.

Excelente comida (gracias Chef) y excelente servicio. Gracias a todos en Eelbrook!

I think this restaurant would be really lovely on a warm, sunny evening when you could take advantage of the outdoor space, however, the evening that we were there was a little cold and grey and so we had to sit inside. The interior is quite cafeteria-like, with scratched tables, and random throws and cushions. It's main draw is that it's right on the edge of Eelbrook Common, and has a large outside dining / drinking space. The menu is fairly limited, but reasonably priced.

Understanding of English was difficult for the waiting staff so ordering was hard work. The wine list was very expensive for the type of restaurant it is with the house wines at over £20 then a £10 hike to the next on the list. The steaks were good but the potatoes were undercooked. Overall it was an expensive meal for what it was and poor value.

A lovely view and an honest waiter who was pleasant but that is the only positives I can say about this establishment. The menu looked ok, I ordered the pancakes but was told that the chef doesn't want to make these today, because he couldn't be bothered (honest waiter) apparently it's his seventh shift in a row and he's feeling the pressure since a former chef left, I plumped for the Sourdough Toast with a side of Sausage, when this arrived I wish I had took a picture as words can not describe how underwhelming this whole meal was in terms of both presentation and taste, 2 bits of warm but not toasted bread and one lonely sausage which wasn't even cooked. I informed the waiters that the sausage wasn't cooked and the toast wasn't toasted and he agreed that the presentation and offering was poor and he would see what he could do, when we ordered the bill he asked again how our meal was? I expressed that it was disappointing and after a good 10/15 minutes out back he offered to waive the service charge - I declined it wasn't the waiters fault that that food was poor, he looked as embarrassed by it as I was and quite frankly was a guy just doing a job. Brunch was so bad that we went to the Bluebird after for a second brunch. Won't be coming back here again, horrendous.

I really like where the restaurant is as it looks over the park. The food was tasty however I went on a Sunday and I was bombarded with pushchairs, screaming children, slow service and a large bill which was a shame as the food was really tasty. The service was ok but the food was horrific. The menu is very limited- it consisted mainly of breakfast or salads. There were I believe 2 other options of fish and chips or a burger. I chose the fish- it was completely saturated in oil and was still pink in places. This made my stomach turn. The 2 types of cake we ordered were dry and hard, maybe due to them being in the open air with the heating on full blast. The chocolate ice cream, actually tasted like chocolate mousse. Overall, I was very disappointed. Decor-wise they have turned the dingy cafe into something quite nice but unfortunately their food does not live up to expectation. It was not worth the bother...

I would rate the innovative quality of the food served at Eelbrook on par with - or even better than - the restaurants of TV celebrity chefs here in London, but at more reasonable prices with more genuinely friendly service. Each course offered a unique combination of subtle flavours, from starters through to mains and dessert. This includes the variety of meat and seafood dishes offered on the menu. The staff was also most attentive and welcoming, and offered to prepare special menus to order in advance of future visits. We will certainly make this a regular stop for dinner in future, especially when out of town guests come for a visit in London.

My friend and I arrived at this cafe at 11am today for our first visit. As we entered the male waiter looked at us and I greeted him politely. His response was to huff angrily in my face before storming into the kitchen. Shocked, we turned on our heel and left immediately. I have never reviewed a restaurant before, but felt compelled to share my terrible experience of this venue today. As an alternative, try 'St Clements' down the road. Friendly service and good coffee.

Nice location. The service was very casual though not unpleasant - took 20 mins at least to get any drinks. We had to call the waiter over to take our order as we were otherwise ignored. Food was very ordinary - the small pork burger with a hard bun and a few oily chips was over-priced. Doesn't seem to know whether it's a cafe or a restaurant. Would go for drinks or coffee if I wasn't in a rush but not for food.

I had one of the best meals ever at this place! I went with a friend for the first time and did not know what to expect. I was immediately impressed by the decor and by the friendliness of the staff. The atmosphere is quite quirky but cosy at the same time and this is also reflected in the menu, which is a varied and exciting twist on classic favourites. We had some cocktails to start and a range of different breads. This was followed by the tuna tartar to start with, which was to die for, and came with really generous helpings, which is unusual for London. Our next course was anti-pasti: pumpkin ravioli. This was really fresh and in season, and tasted unbelievable. We both had pheasant for the main course. It was tender and delicious, as was the celeriac side. For dessert we did not know what to pick so we asked the chef to recommend. The desserts were AMAZING- we had a chocolate and praline swirl and an italian milk pudding which was delicious and the presentation was fantastic.I honestly could not have had a better experience in the place, I highly highly recommend! Ticks all the boxes from atmosphere, quality of food, innovation and service.

Start to finish disappointment. Occasion for our party of 4 was part of our son's 21st birthday weekend. We chose Eel Brook because it's just a few minutes from home, my wife had a pleasant enough lunch there a few months ago and it always seems busyish when we pass. The table was the most out of the way, crammed in front of the coats (and a high chair). After seating it was 15 minutes before we saw anyone for service and that was after my son went to remind them we were there. They told us what was no longer available and then having ordered, came back and said 2 of the 4 items ordered were off too. So was the first wine we ordered. Manager gave resigned (not heartfelt) apologies saying it was "difficult to get experienced staff" but made no attempt to alleviate any of the disappointment. Overall impression was that we were there for them, not them for us. Don't know if the clientele we've seen are regulars but can't believe so on our experience. So much for supporting a local establishment. Most disappointing meal and service I can remember.

My friend was visiting from Leeds this weekend so I sought out somewhere decent for brunch. Eelbrook was sold to me on the premise of being 'one of the coolest places for breakfast in London'. The al fresco setting was pleasant enough on a warm September afternoon, however the service was pretty lethargic and the food (we each ordered the belgian waffles) was below par. The 45 minute trip from Kings Cross wasnt entirely worth the time, but the good weather lightened the disappointment. We moved to a table outside so we were further from the music, in the hope that we would be able to have a pleasant evening. However, unfortunately the service was terrible (even though the restaurant was empty), one of our party found a potato in the middle of her burger, my steak came with only half the salad given to another of our party and the staff gave us an odd look and a shrug when we complained. We came here on a sunny September Sunday around 11.30am. We ordered a bottle of sparkling water - glasses arrived without ice or lemon in. They couldn't take our order for roast lunch until 12 yet no attempt was made to offer us anything else in the meantime. When our roast beef arrived it was a minuscule portion, really tiny. Only half the promised vegetables were there and when I asked for horseradish one waiter looked bemused and the next said they didn't do it! We were still hungry after having had lunch but didn't want one of their expensive puddings. I really don't mind paying if everything is good but all the waiters were running around and seemed disorganised. I speak clear English but had to repeat myself about 3 times and still I felt things were lost in translation. To get what I needed I had to get up and go and find someone. When I got up there was another customer inside complaining they had been ignored for 20mins and when I came back outside the people next to me were complaining as they offered a bottomless drinks option that restaurant was trying to get out of on a technicality. This place is a pleasant location but lacks attention to detail, organisation amongst waiting staff and the kitchen need to sort out their portion sizes. When my bill was bought to me I sat waiting for about 10 minutes then had to get up and go and pay as yet again been ignored. A disappointing Sunday lunch....and not cheap. Not surprisingly service had been added already.

We booked this restaurant based on having been before and it's location and knowing it's quite nice, but having just looked through the reviews here, think the bad reviews are a little harsh. Although I agree it's probably a little overpriced. The interior is simple and minimal and they have a lovely terrace area looking on to the common. We sat out there as it was a nice evening. When it got colder later on they switched on the heater which was a perfect temperature and so if possible I would recommend eating on the terrace. The dinner menu is very small, which I don't mind as long as it is done well. There were about four or five starters to choose from and a about the same for mains and dessert. For starters we shared the tiger prawns which were pretty decent but not the most amazing I've ever had. We also shared the burrata which again was decent enough. As I mentioned the menu is small so we all ended up having the sirloin steak. Two were asked for medium-rare and one well done. They all came out perfectly cooked and sliced as opposed to one big steak. Again was pretty nice and couldn't really say too much bad about it. For dessert we shared the chocolate delice which was pretty good too and a cheese board. I'm not sure what it is these days but cheese boards seem to be getting smaller and smaller. Whilst we were relatively full after our steak and weren't too fussed about getting large cheese portions but I felt the sizes were very small. Service was fine but there weren't that many people in the restaurant and I would fear for the quality of service if they were fully booked. Overall the food is decent and can't particularly fault it and the service is fine but personally I really like the decor and the ambience and would happily go back again.

Restaurant and outside terrace open on the so called Ell Brook Common. On my point of view, it could be more family/kids friendly considering the great location. The park. Always dying to go there while kids play outside on the green, for drinks and snacks, between 3 and 6... Or early diner, as kids could run around, waiting for food while parents could have a drink ...BUT NO !!!!No easy drink and no kids menu nor easy finger food to have. I think new owner is working on improving this absolutely gorgeous location for the past 2 years. Still very noisy inside. Keep improving the phonic isolation. But on my point of view, a place for "real food, for real adults, for real party, without kid". Just wish I could be there more often.

This cafe represents the very worst of pretentious, over-priced city dining. Arrived to a half empty cafe at around 11am to be told by a waiter that it would be ten minutes before they could even take our order for breakfast because they were so busy. We looked around incredulously and then asked if we could at least have a drink and a pain au chocolate, which he agreed to. The coffee was tiny; the tea (with warm milk?) arrived in a cup with a badly chipped saucer which my daughter cut her hand on. When I pointed this out to the waiter he just looked at me with a blank 'meh' expression. The pastries were cold. The bill included the service charge which now seems to be obligatory everywhere in the city.

Caught up over dinner with a friend here. It was very quiet at 7 on a Friday night and initially the waiter was quick to get our drinks orders and provide us with menus. Once we ordered our food, our starter (grilled squid - delicious) came out quickly enough and our plates were cleared straight away. Our mains came about 20 minutes later; my cod fillet was a tiny sliver set on some girollle (mushroom) sauce with a small piece of leek and two minuscule mushrooms as accompaniment. While it was well cooked, it was definitely NOT worth £16.50. Luckily I had ordered a side of broccoli otherwise I would have inhaled my meal in two minutes. Our plates were duly cleared. By 8.30, the restaurant had started to fill up a bit more and the waiter neglected to ask if we needed more wine or water. We tried flagging him or the manager down but to no avail so we gave up and just had water instead. We were left alone for a whole hour and while other tables were served, neither the waiter not the manager checked in with us to even ask if we wanted dessert or anything more. We had to try and get their attention 3 times before we caught it and could ask for the bill. The glass of wine was overpriced considering it was a small one (£8) and overall while the food was cooked well, the service was non-existent and I would not return there again. Nice treat if you have deep pockets and time to hang around but there are much better places around the area so try them first before Eelbrook.

We live in Parsons Green and were excited to visit the Eelbrook when it initially opened a couple of years ago. Unfortunately, after an average meal we were not inclined to return. However, our second visit, which only happened this week, was the complete antithesis of our first. Gone is the dark and rather oppressive interior, replaced with a light and bright dining space. Gone is the previous (rather experimental) menu, replaced by a more mainstream offering. The outside terrace has also been refurbished and makes a great setting for dining or just drinks. The new menu is very appealing. Everything we had was superb and good to perfection. My main was the cod fillet with a side of sautéed broccoli - the fish was perfectly cooked and the flavour combinations of the dish worked perfectly. The service was also spot on - fast and friendly. I don't know if we literally caught them on the first day of a change in management, chef, staff, but whatever has happened it's working. I would now highly recommend the Eelbrook. We will certainly be returning and based on our experience this restaurant deserves more positive reviews.Tip - it's half price champagne on Wednesdays!

I took my friend to Eelbrook for her birthday dinner, midweek. The restaurant was relatively quiet, but perfect for a good chin wag. The staff were exactly the right level of engaged, attentive but not overbearing. The food was very tasty, I had a bavette steak and my friend the mushroom risotto. We finished off with pannacotra and chocolate parfait. Yummy all round!

We have visited the restaurant in its many guises over the years and love the setting. So much work has been spent on making the restaurant a lovely space which indeed it is. But have the owners completely given up, we ask ourselves? We actually thought it had been taken over as it is so different. The new pared down menu is ridiculously small with no imagination whatsoever. I think there were only 3 choices for dessert, none of which appealed. They ran out of the wines we had chosen just to add to the disappointment. And I don't even know where to begin about the service? It was truly abysmal - were the manager and waiter taking it in turns to go out for a cigarette? The service was ridiculously slow despite there being only a handful of people in the restaurant. Sorry to be harsh - but the restaurant cannot survive like this and it is such a shame because it should be full every night.

Very dissapointed in my visit this week ! Having been to this restaurant a few times over the last year, I was looking forward to visiting again -- however after this recent visit I will not be returning. The service seems to have gone downhill, our order took ages to be taken and even longer than expected to arrive. But this was just the start, my order was incorrect and my guests meal was cold ! When the correct meals eventually came back we were made to feel that it was somehow our fault with the sullen attitude we recieved.I asked to speak to the manager but was told they were not available !What has happened - has there been a change of manager / staff or some other issue?? It now seems like standards have slipped badly.

I recently held my engagement drinks at the Eelbrook and I could not recommend it more highly if you are ever looking for a venue to host a special evening. I have been a fan of the restaurant for quite some time but even I did not expect what I got. I lazily left all the details to the amazing Events Manager Nicola. She took charge of everything - decorations, flowers, candles and lanterns, canapés, drinks, music and more. We had around 60 people in total. They opened up the doors and covered the terrace so that we had ample space. The canapés were excellent, the drinks flowed, the service was fantastic throughout the night and the atmosphere was absolutely perfect (with candles and fairy lights galore!). Sincere thanks to Nicola. Recommend this place SO highly.

Eelbrook comes up trumps yet again! With new Head Chef, Ricardo at the helm, together with a pared down menu and fantastic team both front of house (served by Anna) and in the kitchen, a fantastic evening was had by all. My meal of grilled squid and lamb was absolutely sublime; only equaled by the fabulous tones of Kayleigh, resident jazz singer on Wednesday evenings. It rates as one of my favourite restaurants and I keep going back for more!!

Went to the restaurant for brunch on Sunday. Food was great, loved the brunch menu. We had the avocados and poached eggs and the kids had pancakes and waffles, all delicious. Was a nice sunny day and we sat outside on the sofas. Outside heater's worked well so very comfortable.Nice enclosed outside space for kids to run around in when they'd finished their food. Friendly staff and good service. We'll be heading back.

We celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary at Eelbrook and had a perfectly lovely evening. The staff went out of their way to make it a special experience. After sipping complementary sparkling wine, we chose a great Bordeaux to have with dinner that was reasonably priced. We shared the ham terrine, which was delicious. We both had steak, which were cooked perfectly and were tender and delicious. Another surprise - celebration dessert. Thank you for making our dinner so wonderful.

I dont normally write revievs but this restaurant deserves recognision. I have dined in this restaurants before however this time my experience left smile on my and my friends faces. We were welcomed with a huge, genuine smile by the restaurant supervisor Anna no wonder why we still remeber her name - she was very knowledgable and professional at all levels. Food was outstanding if not more, they have new Head Chef there who actually came out to speak to us! This never happens in top London restaurants and it was a wonderful touch from them. My Risotto was absolutely perfect, creamy, rich and I couldnt have enough of it. Cod was absolutely perfectly cooked with a lot of flavours that made us go "wow". You get so much for your money so would definitely recommend and will ba definitely back soon! Well done guys!

What an absolute treat to revisit the Eelbrook having drifted away from the original concept and menu of overcomplcated cleverness - not what one really wants in a local eatery. The newly launched restaurant is wonderful - oh my goodness ! , We wanted to eat the whole , and I mean whole, menu . The quality of ingredients was top notch ( apparently largely from small Northern producers - the meat at least ) and the execution on the cooking side of things was faultless. My onglet was delicious and, accompanied by the most wicked tripple chips and horseraddish made me smile through every mouthful.....oh, and with the Shiraz/Viogner (£19 - excellent value ) , mmmmmmm !My burger-genius mate had ........the burger ( from apparently rump sourced from the same area up north ) which almost resulted in a speechless dinner......it was awesome ! We shared the poached pear dessert which came straight from 3 star michelin stables ....and when the charming Ricardo ( the new genius chef) appeared from the kitchen to say hi we were then treated to trying the pannacotta and rhubarb......OMG ! Cant wait to return to try the cod , squid, risotto.......and the rest of the menu.Service was both charming and knowledgeable - mostly by our waiter , Sol, who brought a touch of sunshine to the cold ,dark March eveningAlong with its new chef, menu, decor, service and overall high quality, this place deserves to "fly" - only one problem......I might not get a table next time .

We only popped in for a drink and were instantly impressed. This is a big, open pub with a large bar and a variety of seating options. We sat in armchairs by the fire but equally tempting were the chairs by the enormous windows where you can watch The Kings Road go by. Friendly bar staff and a good selection of wines makes this place worth revisiting.

Dined her with friends. Food variety and quality was very good. Interesting combinations and reasonably priced. The room can get quite loud but not off putting by any means. Our white wine was served in red wine glasses which made the wine less enjoyable. Also would have liked the server to top up the wine also. Will return.

One of the most exciting finds of our year. We both fancied every item on the menu which is broken down into six 'small plates', six 'starters' and six 'mains'. A small plate of deep fried salsify with truffled sour cream, tuned our buds for starters of Venison tartare and a foi gras and chicken liver pate. My wife followed this with Dorset Hake on a cauliflower puree, beurre noisette, capers and almonds and I had slow cooked rabbit, cider, baby onions and polenta. We had a side of green Kale with chilli and fennel seed - just because! Also 'just because' we were feeling quite 'figgy' by now we finished off with baked figs with mascarpone mousse and poppy seed tuile. We did not have supper that day! Staff are lovely. location is odd as it is close to the junction of Wandsworth Bridge Road and the New Kings Road but that makes it easy to find. Go try!

went on a friday night, half 8. food was great, place was quiet, all lit nice. only thing i'd say is negative is that the lights that come low on the tables are too low. if tall (as i am), you're head is too close so it does get hot. apart from that, waitress (she was welsh) was lovely, food was so so so so good, the steak incredible. defo come again.

Second visit to Eelbrook and didn't disappoint. Brought friends from out of town and they were very impressed. Great service, good wine list, very good food. We each had appetizers and main course Squid was excellent. I had the rabbit and it was very tasty and delicious. Highly recommend - it should be much more popular than it is right now. Love that it is a local secret for the time being.

I was particularly taken with roasted beetroot with labneh, mint and pine nuts and am determined to try and recreate the dish. Deserves to be far more popular than it is

A Wednesday evening dinner. Lovely menu - wanted to try nearly everything there. Very reasonably priced and good wine list. Courgette flowers with crab wonderful, also the beetroot salad, cockles too salty and boulangere pots not up to scratch - overcooked and stale tasting. Service outstanding - knowledgable, friendly and a very relaxing place to spend an evening. Would be happy to eat here alone as well as with friends - a stroll away from the Hilton.

The food here was surprisingly delicious. For somewhere we chose simply based on how beautiful the building is from the outside, we lucked out finding a great new restaurant. The meals were great and the servers were friendly. Their decor was the only problem. They have the opportunity to make this pretty building modern, fresh, clean, but instead have filled it with tacky chairs, horrible wall paintings (look like decals of flowers), and poor lighting. They also have beautiful outside dining during the day, but they leave it dark out there at night, so you feel like you are sitting in a black box. I recommend adding some beautiful lighting to the outside patio, so even when not in use, you're sitting against a window that looks out to something instead of a pitch-black park.

The Eelbrook is on Eelbrook Common, Fulham, close to the New Kings Road and Wandsworth Bridge Road so it is noisy outside which is where we lunched on a lovely shiny day. Noise is exacerbated by extractor fans on the roof of this single storey concrete block. However it was a nice place to sit with our Boxer dog and the food is really well cooked and served. The menu is not huge but there is a good selection of starters and mains. The wine list is not huge and not too greedy. We both opted for fresh Cornish Hake as our main course. Served with a beurre noisette and cauliflower puree - sensational. Whilst we were eating, some friends rang and on hearing our excitement came and joined us. The kitchen had just shut when they arrived.....but they re-opened for 'two more hakes' and some vegetables. Bliss all round.

I’m sad to say that this once-great Spanish food outlet has completely lost its charm and standards. It used to be our go-to place whenever we visited the shopping centre, but our recent experience was beyond disappointing. The service was disorganized and indifferent. We weren’t given any tissues or cutlery with our food, which was both frustrating and inconvenient. It seems like the management has changed, and unfortunately, the quality has gone downhill. What used to be a warm, inviting spot with great food and friendly service is now a shadow of its former self. Sadly, this outlet is no longer worth the visit, and we’ll be looking elsewhere for our Spanish food cravings in the future.

Exceptional dining experience! The food, atmosphere, and service were all top-notch. I had the roasted chicken Sunday roast, and as a chef, I can truly appreciate the balance and attention to detail on the plate. The flavors were perfectly harmonious and absolutely delicious.
