So delicious! We were visiting family and this is their go to chip shop. The service was awesome too! Highly recommend!

The very worst tasting fish and chips i have ever had! Batter was super thick and undercooked. All tasted of cardboard.Fish was flavourless,chips were soggy! ... Another foreign run takeaway serving up poor standard british fish and chips! Avoid! !👎

We’ve found this place a couple of months ago and love it. Slightly cheaper than Melksham. We have fish, chips and battered sausages, all excellent quality, flavour and come with great service. Highly recommend.

Tried this place many times and every order is 🤢disgusting🤢 they take 15 - 20 minutes to cook it 😑 😒 Fish is that burnt looks like it's been sunbathing in benidorm and chips that look like they need a walking stick and told to retire from the fryer. This is not the best fish and chip shop it's a fish and S!!!t shop🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮 What food do I recommend in this place Um let's see the cardboard box in the back

1st going here the fish all pappy and chips all hard and been re cooked and expensive Would not go back again and also the fish was pappy even though I had to wait for it to be cooked I would advise to not to go here

Really great service . The staff all have brilliant communication skills and advise each other when food is ready to package up etc. This results in orders going out the door quickly. Great delishious hot food. You can't go wrong. Great vegetarian options too! There is a defo a reason it is always busy!

Unfortunately after years of using this chip shop I will not be returning anymore. The last time I ordered (by phone), I asked for 4 pieces of southern fried chicken and was told there was only 3, so absolutely fine we took the 3. But once there to collect, there was more available. Obviously they didn’t want to be left with 2 as harder to sell. It was early enough in the evening, if it had of been close to closing time I would understand them not wanting to cook more. The time before that, the girl they gave to help out when they’re busy was exceptionally rude to me. She made me feel like absolute rubbish. After I spoke to the lady who owns it and explained my issues, she point blank denied to admit there was more southern fried chicken available and chuckled on the phone to me. Also had no decent response to my issue with the girl from the time before. It’s Such a shame really as I’ve always liked the people who run this shop but have noticed a lot of attitude for the past few months and with the cost of living crisis all stores should be grateful for customers. I shall be taking my hard earned money elsewhere.

Ate here yesterday and got really I’ll, don’t think they cooked the food properly, just make sure you keep it in mind, will never be returning again not very happy

Lived up to other reviews, great food, perfectly cooked, huge portions. Staff lovely and awesome to see the place bustling with locals. Got there in time though, queues after us. Lisa even said is this too far to come for our fish n chips in future? Pointed out only an hour from us soooooo...... 🤷🏼‍♂️ Funny they couldn't understand Lisa's Welsh accent though 😂😂😂

Best fish and chips in the area in my opinion, the owners Danny and Karina are very welcoming and value their customers.

Food was soggy, and undercooked. Staff are rude and took well over 35 minutes to cook a couple of battered sausages and chips. Can only pay by cash which is bizarre too, we live in a world where contactless payments should be made available anywhere you go. I understand why they only take cash, it means less money for the tax man! Do not eat here, you will be unwell the next day.

So glad we found this place, this is the opposite side of town to us but so worth the drive, the food is freshly cooked and care taken whilst prepping, hands washed regularly etc, staff are very pleasant and the food is amazing, we’re slowly working our way through the menu and haven’t been disappointed at all!

Just finished polishing off a portion of fish and chips, my goodness, easily the best chips I have ever eaten; fresh, and perfectly cooked - with just the right amount of crunch to them. Our local chippy was closed, but so glad we took a detour to Ed's!

What amazing Fish and chips, brilliant value for money, the small fish was to big for a normal plate. 5 stars really aren’t enough.

Slow service, its nice that it's made fresh yet somehow everything is tasteless. The fish was bland and the batter was soggy. Same with the battered sausage. The chips where OK but not amazing. The only thing I really enjoyed was the curry roll which was very nice leading to the 2 * review otherwise it would be 1*. I don't know what everyone else sees in this place. Won't be trying again

Eds Fish Bar is an absolute jem of a chippy tucked away in the outskirts of Calne. The food is amazing and the staff are always really happy to see you. All food is cooked to order and even though I have to drive 10 minutes home the food is still hot and delicious. Highly recommended.

I have been going to Ed’s fish bar for a long time and it has always been excellent, however the last couple of times the chips have been awful. Last night I went to get a large portion of chips to share between 3 of us but they were so awful we ended up throwing them in the bin. That’s the 2nd time in a row so I’m afraid that’s it for me

Always really good food. Phoned through order today and went and picked up 10 minutes later. Can't fault them.

Dirty place, with greasy and frozen fish and chips, leaving them soggy, furthermore all the machinery is outdated, not cleaned properly, also I thought the staff were rude and were talking over eachother aswell as the customers. Only go their if you like throwing up in the morning.

Excellent friendly service, always in and out. Everything I have tried has been delicious, but my favourite is the delicious spring rolls, perfect for while you are waiting. They also sell potato fritters/scallops! Hard to find round here.

I would have to say this is the best fish and chip shop in Calne! The food 9/10 of the time is great piping hot! However a week or so ago i had the chips and they had been sat about abit... I have been this week and the chips were superb! Great place to go when its busier as you can guarantee fresher food!

Very sad to say I didn't enjoy my food at all. Was really looking forward to it after reading the reviews. Chips were dry, the fish was far from great and the spring roll was rubbery and not crispy. May try it again sometime, hopefully it was a one off 😕
