Edo in Belfast

Unbelievable food and very accommodating staff, very pleasant and helpful. Loved every bite of the food too. Would recommend in a heartbeat and I will be back.

We called here yesterday while shopping and decor good and seating comfortable. First time and very impressive. Service excellent and food was delicious. Love the goats cheese and we also had a range of other dishes including beef cheeks, chicken, gnocchi, prawns, wings and the nicest pork I have tasted. Highly recommend

We had an amazing meal here while visiting Belfast, and would highly recommend Edo if you’re in the mood for Spanish tapas. We shared the iberico ham, pan con tomate, olives, beet salad, pork belly, duck breast, and patatas bravas, and every dish was excellent. Not a single miss. Great selection of wines by the glass as well. We ended with homemade tiramisu, a nice ending to a great meal.

EDO is amazing the food was unbelievably good the staff particularly Alexandra M were fabulous so knowledgeable about the different plates just the perfect place for an amazing meal

Our first time at Edo and we only wish we'd discovered it earlier. We enjoyed all the dishes very much. Particular stand outs were the sea bream with Portavogie prawns and the spiced cauliflower with romesco sauce. Chips were amazing too. Amaretto creme caramel and the lemon tart were fabulous. Maybe (particularly felt later that evening!) a bit heavy on the butter and oils, but a real treat. Service excellent too.

Delicious and delightful meal, would give it a 4.5 but rounded up. Varied menu, loved the shrimp, octopus and patatas, but honestly everything was good. The meal was more than reasonably priced for the quality.

Menu set out as if two or three course dining, but in reality the ordered fare comes in no particular order, and is designed for sharing. Years since had sardines, and the ones we got were great, as was the octopus with chorizo (and red pepper). Can't remember seeing Jerusalem artichoke on a menu, but there it was, probably par-boiled then sautéed. The ham croquettes were great, but pride of place must go to the patatas bravas. These were the best I've ever eaten, the tomato sauce slightly spicy, at the bottom, and the garlic aoili liberally added. Great stuff. Only minor criticism is that it was very noisy, though hardly the restaurant's fault.

Oh boy, let me tell you about this delightful little lunchtime escapade I had today at this fancy restaurant. Imagine a place where tapas dance on your taste buds like they're auditioning for the final of Strictly Come Dancing. That’s what this place felt like. I started with some chorizo sausage – spicy but not the kind that makes you wanna call the fire brigade. It was followed by pork belly, a perfect partner in this lunchtime tango. The chorizo came first, setting the stage for the pork belly, and they played together like a well-coordinated football team, each bite better than the last. For dessert, I tried a white chocolate egg with a mousse inside. Now, while the presentation was like something out of a nostalgic Easter egg hunt, the taste felt a bit like the egg had been sitting around waiting for me to find it for a tad too long. Service? Top-notch. The staff were attentive, like a good friend who always knows when you need a top-up or a chat. However, seeing one of the waiters zip through the main thoroughfare on a scooter was a bit like spotting a UFO – unexpected and a bit odd for a Michelin star setting. The kitchen was open for viewing, but I couldn’t quite pin down who the head chef was. It would have been nice to see the maestro behind the culinary symphony. Then there was the dessert debacle – just a spoon with my white chocolate egg. Ever tried to corral a mousse with just a spoon? I ended up having to use my finger. Finger dessert at a Michelin-starred joint? Blimey. All said and done, this place has something special. It’s got a vibe that’s welcoming yet leaves you wondering if you’ve just fine dined or just paid fine dining prices. But hey, that’s part of its charm, I suppose. Five stars from me, hands down.

We prebooked as my wife and I have serious dietary issues. When we arrived we were met with menus annotated to our needs. The first time ever that that has happened. Wonderful service and delicious food. Thank you to all staff. This is the place to eat in Belfast.

Super friendly but the food alone is worth it. Excellent tapas. We had six dishes and the prawns and the braised beef cheek were particularly delicious. Busy on a regular Tuesday evening in March says a lot.

Always love visiting Edo. Despite it always being really busy you are made to feel like you are at home from the minute you walk through the door. Special shout out to our fabulous waiter Jonny D who took great care of us and to the other Jonny in the kitchen cooking up delicious food. If you are in Belfast, this is totally a must visit if you are looking for fantastic food and service!

First time to Belfast and first time to Edo. Food was fresh and delicious….wonderful service and atmosphere. Johnny looked after us very well and we found out at the end it was his first day there! Nice one Johnny!! Certainly recommend this venue for its diverse range of tapas and relaxed ambiance.

Took a 2nd trip back recently. Seated promptly and a gain atmosphere was lively. Drinks sorted and meal ordered again promptly by the excellent staff. Food appeared in less than 5 mins which didn't really give us a chance to settle in....all seemed a bit rushed tbh. Food this time was fine, not as good as our 1st visit but fine. Meal over all to quickly, I would say half an hr so we ordered a cocktail from their list. As the 1st time we visited it tasted of marzipan!!! Called over the staff member who said that the cocktail base was bulk made and had almond syrup in them....God only knows why. Asked for them to be made freshly which they were...no after taste...in fact was told they were new and improved. Spoiled our evening a bit so we left shortly afterwards.

Good food. Table booked at 6:00. At 7:30 we were reminded that we had the table to 8:00. At 7:40 we were told our time was up- I counted 2 tables of 4, 1 table of 6 and 1 table of 2 free. 2 people only were waiting to be seated. We got up and left despite giving £200 for our food and drink. Disappointed to be treated like that.

Some dishes were lovely and the cocktails were great 👍 Such a pity that the staff particularly one waitress were grumpy. Said waitress forgot parts of our order and said that they were still being prepared however it was very obvious that this was a lie as she proceeded to ask the chef for the order.Later another waitress apologised. When the late dishes came out the duck was tough and the side was not seasoned. Bit of a let down after spending over £120 for lunch.

Wow and Wow again! What an absolutely amazing food experience we had last night. We were not long seated before our server Cath came over to our table and full marks for her very nice way and patience with us as she took her time going through the menue with us. I have a written note of what we enjoyed eating, so that when we come the next time, and hopefully soon, we will wanting to try some of the other Tapas from the menue. The best meal we have had eating out for ages.

We went for dinner. Fairly classic tapas menu. Execution on the food was a little uneven--nothing was exceptional, a few things were good. The paella was bad--it just lacked flavor and was a little skimpy on the proteins. (As if often the case with tapas), we left feeling like we'd paid a good bit for not much food--one bite of this, another bite of that--and were pretty hungry. Cocktails were good! Service was decent, but had a "going through the motions" quality to it. The meal was done very quickly--food came out fast. Atmosphere felt modern and was pleasant enough. Not a bad meal--not an exceptional one, either.

Came for an anniversary dinner, Really lovely welcoming staff and the meal was delicious with plenty of pescatarian options and presentation was brilliant would highly recommend

This was a fantastic night...a birthday celebration...not easy with one member a severe coeliac ..and another lactose intolerant. The staff were incredibly attentive and knowledgeable. They even made sure there was no cross contamination by bringing out gluten free food separately from the other food . The food was of an exceptional quality and the flavours amazing. I cannot speak highly enough of this restaurant and the staff . Highly recommended 👌

Another trip to my sons favourite restaurant when he is home in Belfast. We where greeted by Eve, who was so professional and pleasant in her manner at dealing with us wanting to eat a little earlier than we had booked. Each dish we had was perfect, with a nice bottle of white wine. A really nice place to eat, especially at the chefs service area, which is where we always sit, so we can admire each dish as it goes to pass. Highly recommend you try it .

Great food and service definitely will be back and would highly recommend. I did think the wine is a bit overpriced but otherwise really great value.
