Edesia Restaurant Bar & Lounge in Bath and North East Somerset

Just celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary with our family (9 of us in total) at Edesia and had a fantastic time. Couldn't fault the food or the service. Thoroughly recommend this restaurant. Three of us are vegetarians and there was plenty of choice for everyone including the children.

Had an awesome birthday dinner! Big thanks to Arbios. He was super kind and made the night special. Highly recommend this place!

I had the pleasure of dining at Edesia Restaurant in Bath, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The elegant ambience, attentive service, and delicious food made for a memorable evening.

The food in this restaurant is out of this world... The beef tartare, the lamb, the steak... Utterly delicious. The service was good and fast, they took my coat. Genuinely can't fault them in any way.

We were in Bath for just one night with my Omni partner so wanted to try and get somewhere that would suit us both. I saw from another review that there was a few options for starters and mains. When I got there however there were no starters at all that were vegan bar bread and olives. I went for the bread which to be fair was nice but there was no vegan butter and when I asked for olive and balsamic I then had to ask for a plate to put the bread on and then a dish to dip (which never came). I ordered the veggie paella for the main. It was horrendously over cooked and absolutely swimming in oil. I sent it back and was kindly offered an alternative (two main choices) for which I wasn't keen. I ordered a plate of chips in the end because I felt awkward my partner was eating alone. They did offer me a cocktail on the house which was nice. Staff were okay but seemed a bit unknowledgeable about the vegan menu. When I asked if there were any vegan desserts I got handed the menu and told 'have a look'. Did feel isolated as a vegan in there which is a shame as sometimes in Omni places it can feel much more inclusive. My main, chips were compensated which was kind however I wouldn't return. Pros: Bread selection, Nice cocktails Cons: No starters, Awkward vibe, Poor main course

Wonderful restaurant, fantastic food. The set menu was reasonably priced and offered great choices. Staff were wonderful, friendly and very attentive. My husband and I both thought the food here was outstanding. 10/10 I would recommend this restaurant to others.

It was a ladies weekend visiting Bath so we popped in without a reservation . We were accommodated immediately and the service emailed excellent from then on. Food was wonderful and our vegan options were good. Chloe was our waitress and was really attentive and chatty. Would definitely go back

Great service by Hanna, food was well prepared and presented and interior has a very quaint and comfy feel. Cutlery and plates all very clean.

Cloth napkins had clearly been left in a damp pile and smelt dank (luckily the ones under the bread seemed fine). Everything was just really quite mediocre and felt like a tourist trap

We stopped in for a very late lunch when we stopped in Bath as a put stop in our journey. Our meal, which was entirely fish based from the small plates section, was really great, good quality, and very fresh. The atmosphere was very relaxed as it was the middle of the day and we got good attentive service from Lucky.

Lucky's service was the best! On Thursday, I went in for a steak with a cocktail for 20 pounds. Since I can't drink alcohol, I switched to orange juice. I ordered steak at first, but the portion seemed small for me because I was so hungry, so I ordered tacos as well. I ate it, but I was hungry again, so I was looking through the drink menu, and before I knew it, Lucky had given me a dessert menu. Perfect sense. Everything was delicious, and the churros were freshly fried and super delicious! I'm enjoying it happily🤗

Can’t recommend enough, me and my husband went to spend our anniversary in Bath for the weekend and we had a lovely evening. We booked Edesia as a large group for a work celebration. We had pre-ordered and so our food all came out quickly and it was delicious! The staff, especially Lucky, were all incredibly friendly and helpful in making sure everything went smoothly. I've already recommended this restaurant to other people looking for a great lunch spot in central Bath!

We visited Edesia last Friday during a weekend in Bath. I had booked the restaurantbased on the Fine Dining qualification on Tripadvisor and the overall positive comments. Unfortunately I have to say that the food was absolutely not good. The quality would be okay for a snack bar or a cheap restaurant. One examply... taco with pulled pork is a taco with a bit of lettuce, tomato and then a deep fried crowquette of what one would hope is pork... A real disgrace. Service is okay but again at the level of an average pub. Waste of an evening... much better places in Bath... Stay away!

My partner and I arrived for a late night dinner and staff were very accommodating. Our waiter Lucky was fantastic and super friendly and attentive. We ordered the mixed grill which was plentiful and delicious, the prawns were HUGE!!! Thank you for a fantastic evening

Chose to dine here on a Friday evening on a whim as we’d been to an event at Bath Abbey. The place was tastefully decorated and the quality of the food was excellent - definitely recommend the mixed grill. Our server, Natalia, was friendly and accommodating.

We were served by Lucky. He was very attentive and friendly. The restaurant is a nice place. The food was alright. Overall it was a good experience.

We had the Sunday Roast at Edesia and it was our first time. The food was excellent and the service from our waiter Lucky was just phenomenal 👌 a very very happy customer. The restaurant is also decorated lovely and it has a nice and welcoming atmosphere. Will definitely be going there again. We really enjoyed our experience. Edesia is absolutely fantastic. The decoration and atmosphere is very unique and has a kind of modern Roman style to it which obviously matches the location very well The cuisine is also a modern take on South American cuisine. The menu is well designed with starters and mains all divided into the 3 categories of vegetarian dishes, fish dishes and meat/poultry dishes. I wish more restaurants had such an easy to read menu! It is hard to recommend any single dish as they were all very tasty. But if you do have two people willing to share you have to try the tomahawk steak that is a proper treat and extremely tasty! Service was also great. We were served by Lucky and he was so friendly and helpful, definitely top quality service! We will definitely be dining here again on our next visit to Bath

This is a restaurant for people who get home In time for love island. For people who take photos in front of flower walls. People who love to smash the like button on Salt Bae tik toks. The food is not bad, it is also not good. Everything underwhelms, and doesn’t just lack seasoning but oddly lacks both intensity and finesse. (At least one is normally present). The service is largely terrible. The DJ (yes - we questioned our decision when we saw this) operates from the maitre d’ station at the entrance. The poor bloke must be asked by everyone who walks in to manage their reservation, whilst he is in the mix. The other staff are not knowledgeable of the menu, attentive or engaging. We beckoned service 4 times. We also asked a waitress if we could order drinks. On seeing that I was holding their wine menu she openly admitted “I’m rubbish with wine” - sure, thanks, I’d better just tell you I’ll have the fifth one down then. The decor is nothing other than naff. The fake jamon legs and peppers hanging from the trattoria style kitchen entrance are just odd. Deeply odd. If you dropped me in this restaurant, I would guess I was on the edge of a retail park where the customers had decided to “trade up” from the frankie and bennys next door. Given all of this I would have been slightly frustrated if the total cost came to £100 for 2 with drinks, but as the bill actually came to double that, we were deeply scarred. This review is part catharsis for the expenditure. Bearing in mind you can go to Beckford Canteen, one of the most exciting restaurants in the uk, five minutes away, and spend the same for a near perfect meal, I wonder how this place can stay in business. That said I’d rather it does, to keep all the salt bae fans away from good places in Bath. Also the Churros dough was raw as evidenced here alongside the peppers and jamon.

One of the only restaurant in bath still serving food after 10pm on a Saturday - and the food is pretty good! The chicken (both on the Caesar salad and the skewer) was great and reasonably priced. Overall great experience!

Natalia looked after us really well. The food was lovely although it took a while to arrive, and the market fish of the day was a little expensive for the size of fish you got but the steaks and sides were fab .

We had an excellent meal where we shared a paella and meat platter between the 4 of us, both were excellent, meat platter was some of the best flavoured meat we have had in a long time. Service from Chloe also made our meal very special thankyou.

Great restaurant with a mixed fusion from different places - prices are ok for the region - buy 1 and get 2 drinks Monday to Friday 4pm to 9 pm - toilets available - suitable for family, friends, and also to bring a date. Cozy environment

I came here as a group of 8 for a birthday celebration! I am celiac and the team was very knowledgable about the allergy, I was seated and the manager came over to talk me through the menu which I greatly appreciated. Our server Arbias was delightful, an absolute joy to have as a server making brilliant conversation and the whole experience very enjoyable. Thankyou arbias! Hidden 💎 gem. Everything was amazing. The Food, and perhaps the best mojito I've ever had. My waitress Deene was awesome.

We visited the nightclub upstairs, having been recommended (clearly I realise now, in jest). They wanted to charge us £20 to get in, which made me suspicious. When we did get in, the barman tried to charge me £40 for a glass of prosecco and it was only when I pointed out that I had ordered a glass not a bottle did he grin and change the amount on the card machine. It was at that point that we became aware that the entire clientele were of Eastern European background, and unrecognisable music was being played. After about thirty minutes, when nothing changed, did we enquire with another guest who explained that this was an Albanian/ Romanian club, hence the music and patronage.

A very lovely place well decorated and chic to dine. Our waiter Arbias was perfect. Classy and efficient discreet and polite without being intrusive. Food was delicious and plates well decorated. Food isn’t cheap but well worth the price for the quality of the products makes the difference. A little downside for the waitress big built dark hair who didn’t look to happy with her job moping around and asking questions that had already been answered. Thank you to the cooks that we could see from the table for their amazing work in making the dinner so tasty. Thank you also for the birthday attention at the end of the meal. ;) we recommend!

Wonderful evening at Edesia Bath! Came here to celebrate my birthday and we had a fantastic time. The food was brilliant, and the service was 10/10. Arbias was excellent, kind and attentive through the whole service, we throughly enjoyed our evening here. Would highly recommend! We will definitely be returning! I researched Bath restaurants which provided gluten free options, ahead of a weekend away as a 50th birthday celebration. Very glad Edesia popped up in my searches, as we had a wonderful experience. Our server Raly welcomed us and made the whole meal a pleasure from start to finish - we were dithering between 2 different wines and she gave us a (generous) taster of each to help us make our minds up! Clear explanations of what I could and couldn't eat off the menu. Our tapas starters were delicious, the beef and the black bean arepas in particular. Despite some to-ing and fro-ing with the steak I ordered, eventually I received a tasty and expertly cooked sirloin and extra vegetables to compensate for the small delay. A complimentary mini dessert to celebrate my birthday ended the meal perfectly (and the lime and avocado cheesecake extremely yummy). Ambience and decor great, a slight trek to the toilets(!) but overall would definitely return here.

I was spending the day in Bath and came across this very lovely Brazillian Restaurant, I was greeted very warmly and the staff are lovely and I got my drinks and food very quickly too. Next time I am in Bath on day visit, I will certainly go back to this restaurant. Thank you all so much.

Hosted our wedding reception here last week in the upstairs area. Everything was AMAZING! We were so looked after by the team, the food was exquisite and everyone loved it so much. My mum is gluten intolerant and was very well looked after, her food coming out first etc. Nothing was too much trouble. We chose this venue for their food reputation and the venue allowing us to have children there until late. It was perfect. Nothing went wrong. Will definitely be back for an anniversary meal! Lovely restaurant, very effecient and friendly staff, didn't have to ask for anything, ex: the water kept being topped up, very rare these days. The food was excellent I had the burrito bowl which is in the light lunch but it was massive and very tasty, the chips were also very nice and the place was very clean and pretty. The waiter also recognised us when we walked past later on in the evening.

Had a 2 for 1 cocktail offer, which me and my partner gladly took advantage of! 11 quid duly paid. Good value. Was gonna leave but was convinced to stay, so ordered a second 2 for 1 cocktail… ( 11 quid) plus 2 shots of house vodka - after all how much can 2 shots be? When the bill arrived, all of a sudden it wasn’t 11 quid plus two shots, it was 28 quid (so over 8 quid ea for a single shot) PLUS 12% service charge. Nice place, great service… but keep a sharp eye on the tab! 😁

Raly was an excellent server, very good at reading his customers and quick to respond to feedback, leaving very happy customers! Hubby and I both had the fillet steak which was exceptional; tender, delicious and perfectly cooked to our tastes. I didn't enjoy the Cassava fries, and these were removed from the bill despite being a personal taste. The avocado and lime cheesecake was definitely worth a try, and even my fussy husband tried a bit and liked it (this is monumental!). The churros were the best I've ever had too. Atmosphere was amazing downstairs, but actually a little lacking upstairs - so try and make sure you're downstairs and it's a wonderful evening! (Saturday night 7.30). Pic of cheesecake.

It was good restaurant with nice ambiance. Hiwever we are being told to leave around 10 pm as dj is starting and we have kids wuth us. While booking we did informed them that we will have kids but noone have said anything at that time otherwise we would choose another restaurant. Good gesture about the restaurant. It was a friends 40th birthday and they have decored a plate with happy birthday and candles...

The location and the staff was simply perfect, but I cannot say the same for the food.

We went there for our anniversary and we were not disappointed, i am brazilian and my wife ecuadorian and we can say the latin food they have there is exquisite!!! We will definitely go back there The staff is very friendly and professional I want to thank Arbias who served us for his extra effort in making this day very special for us, even bringing a cake with a happy anniversary message for us!!

We saw this place & knew it was the going to make a perfect birthday Venue staff where very welcoming & professional. They advised on the best steak for us to share it was the best we have ever had anywhere & certainly we will be back After a sweet we shared they came out with a slice of cheesecake with a candle in it & sang happy birthday perfection 😀

Great atmosphere, great service but overpriced and bland steaks. Came for a steak and a beer as the venue looked fantastic. Which it was! However the steak is super expensive and tasted like it was unseasoned. Got it to the medium rare ish I wanted however, it doesn't matter how good you grill a steak if its unseasoned. Expensive for what you get. Definitely worth a visit for the vibes or anything cheaper on the Menu, I'd definitely skip out on the steak next time.

My husband and I booked a weekend in Bath to celebrate our 21st wedding anniversary. On arrival on Friday we discovered Edesia and had late afternoon tapas. Enjoyed so much we booked in for a meal on our anniversary evening on the Saturday. Great vibe with low level music played from DJ which was perfect to create a great atmosphere. We were looked after both times by a new member of staff Melissa both days, it was her first week there and she did an excellent job of looking after us, I even asked on the Friday if she could serve us on the Saturday, very welcoming and attentive without being intrusive and made our experience fantastic the 2 times we were there. We were also greeted and welcomed by the team and our champagne topped up throughout the meal from one of the senior team who was excellent and also made the experience great for our anniversary. The food was sublime, Argentinian Fillet steaks were cooked to perfection, with sides ordered to compliment the steaks. We had a variety of tapas the day before equally delicious. Then finished by a complimentary dessert for our anniversary. A great experience and definitely recommend and will return on our next visit to Bath.
