After a couple of hours walking to, along and back from Rhossili Beach, we were more-than-ready to get some refreshing drinks and a snack. We had noticed this café on our way into the Hillend Campsite carpark where we parked-up to explore the beach. The café had looked good then; now it looked even better! The café’s outside dining/drinking patio was busy, as it was a sunny and warm day, and the views the from this raised building were a delight. We were, however, already too warm to sit-out, so we decided to sit-in. There were plenty of tables to choose from, so we chose a window-side table. We queued at the servery and we ordered a Sparkling Elderflower drink for myself, and an Americano Coffee for my Partner. We took the drinks to our table and our food order soon arrived. We both chose steak and onion sandwiches both with lovely melted cheese added. The sandwiches were served warm and attractively presented with a small red cabbage side salad and plain crisps. There was some rocket leaves inside the sandwiches too. They were delicious and exactly what we needed. Service was very pleasant and efficient, and it was good value for what was a substantial snack. We had noticed a grandmother, mother and child family sat next to us; the young boy (maybe 6-7 years old) was badly misbehaving. The mother was at first calm and did her best to reason with, and quietly admonish, the child. He continued to be disruptive even after a second stronger reprimand. So, the mother marched the child outside onto the patio: I observed that she sat him down, and proceeded to sternly tick-him-off for a couple of minutes. She then left him sat there for at least 15 minutes on his own, whilst she sat a few tables away behind him and out of his sight. The child looked thoroughly miserable and completely contrite. I thought “Good parenting” as this is exactly what was needed.

I contacted the restaurant and spoke to Luke (I believe the manager) and explained that I needed a last minute plan for my fiancé and I to celebrate our engagement, which only happened only a few hours earlier - very spontaneous but the Rhossili bay beach is a beautiful place on the Gower... Anyway. Luke reserved his best table overlooking the site, the dunes and the sea and ensured the prosecco was thoroughly chilled. We spent a lovely evening watching the sunset and the waves from the comfort of the restaurant - the views even from inside the restaurant are fantastic. We went back in the morning for breakfast (superb quality and hearty portions) and coffee (also delicious). The staff were nothing but warm and welcoming, the atmosphere was great, families, couples, younger and older guests all laughing and enjoying the location. It might not be your first choice but perhaps it should be?! The campsite is spacious and well managed. Clean, good facilities, very friendly staff. And the local pub has a great selection of beer and excellent pizzas... There's not much more could you ask for. So from my fiancé and I, thank you for being so accommodating and making our visit a special one.

It was raining so we thought we would pop down for coffee & a roll. At the gate to the caravan park we were told we had to pay £5 to park if we wanted to use the cafe! This caused us to turn around & the cafe to lose business, surely not a win for anyone!

During 2020, Eddy’s is takeaway only. Prices are still quite significant but this we expected. We all had an Eddy’s breakfast the other morning that was a fair size and all cooked nicely, we couldn’t fault it and so today we decided to have sausage and chips and what a mistake that was as they were horrendous! My kids have voted them 3/10 which is poor coming from them. We were the only customers at the time and paid £26 and what was served up was sausages that had burst open and had continued to be cooked for too long so were literally rock hard, the fish itself was delicious but the batter certainly wasn’t ‘beer battered’ as advertised. We got back to the caravan and were so disappointed and definitely wouldn’t purchase again. It’s a lot of money to spend for poor food and I’m so disappointed that the women behind the counter actually served those sausages up as I’m certain they would not have served them to us inside the restaurant if it was open as they looked so terrible. Just because it’s takeaway and food is wrapped up at the moment does not mean the standard of service or food should be below par. Really disappointed.

Will and his team have served us several times over the month of July and August since opening back up post covid. They are take away only. But we've eaten outside making the most of the change to be in the fresh air. Fish and chips excellent. Loaded chips fab. And his specials are really good. My favourite are rosemary and garlic flavoured chips. Several hot breakfasts enjoyed too. Ice creams aplenty. And good choice of cakes and drinks. No toilets on the entire site. And when it rains not too many undercover options. Food has been hot when served. Plentiful and tastes good (in my opinion). Its not haute cuisine but after walking or being on beach hits the spot. Thanks Will and team. Appreciate the cheery service in difficult circumstances and hope you can fully open next year.

We had several meals here while camping and surfing nearby. We were very pleasantly surprised at how many hearty vegan options they had and different plant milks for coffee! The vegan burger was amazing and they do a full breakfast too. The scrambled tofu needs some work (you need to press the tofu and add more seasoning/onion) but was otherwise great and very filling. Good prices and a selection of local gins available too.

we had a day at Llangennith while were on holiday on the Gower .. I had read reviews of Eddys ( not all good ) but I like to judge for myself , so at lunchtime we came off the beach and made the short walk through the dunes up the hill to Eddys .. The service was friendly and efficient and as it was a lovely day we sat outside in the sun and enjoyed the views across the dunes to the sea . The food we had was delicious and wasnt long coming. There are a few very negative reviews about this place, which is a shame. Maybe we were lucky but we thought it was excellent and look forward to returning when we can.

This place attracts on a good weather day for the outside terrace view over an expanse of dunes, ideal as a stop point on a long walk. Unfortunately, on two occasions the food has disappointed in terms of quality, quantity and price. Latest was the £7.50 signature breakfast, for which you might expect freshly cooked sausage and bacon as opposed to pre-cooked chewy ones, maybe two sausages not one (?) or at least a decent sized sausage, maybe to have the option of brown toast, maybe even a complimentary tea or coffee (as would be the case with so many other cafes). So a tenner for a sub-standard breakast with cappucino. Not good value given all that. So I'd say just stop for a coffee and admire the view from the terrace, if the weather's nice.

We came here numerous times during our visit to the camp site for drinks and for breakfast. The views are amazing and there is a nice friendly atmosphere. The food was reasonably priced and the staff were friendly too. The only thing that kept it from getting 5 stars is the stampede at opening time for breakfast. We felt that it could have opened a little earlier to try to alleviate this. We called in on Saturday and Sunday for breakfast and it was the same on both days. However we were still served in a timely manor despite the mad rush. We would definitely re visit.

I've been to Eddy's countless times now and always consistently great food - whether you're on the fly and just wanting a quick snack eg a burger or more time on your hands to savour some of their excellent dishes. It's quite diverse in its menu choice since being at the entrance way to a caravan and camping park you'd expect it to be simple fast food - get it and go. But whilst it does offer and quick snack facility, it also offers a great menu of more sophisticated dishes, some of which you would expect to see in more high class restaurants-

The location is much the best attraction for Eddy's, being just a couple of hundred metres from the dunes and Rhossili beach. I've seen this place bursting at the seams with holidaymakers and surfers in peak season, so a comparison on a sunny spring day with a cold wind was interesting. Service was OK given the low numbers of people, and the menu choice looked attractive enough if a little overpriced. I had a chicken and bacon baguette, which was very good. And a credit to any cafe is due when they serve a good flat-white coffee.Surroundings are a little echoey and cavernous, but bright. Some good photography of the beach and Rhossili Down and Worms Head adorn the walls. But I'm not sure they've made enough of the 'surf-shack' theme to be convincing.

When I first came here it was bad enough but it seems to get worse each year. The staff seem to swan around with zero urgency and the waiting time is beyond a joke. This weekend was the straw that broke the camel's back, I waited nearly 15 minutes for a coffee, there was only one other customer!! The only conclusion I can come to is that since they have a captive audience they simply don't care.

Stopped here at the beginning and end of a long walk along the beach to Worm's Head.My adventure started with a hot chocolate. I felt that the drinks were slightly over priced but I guess, like most seaside attractions, you pay for the view. When it arrived it was lukewarm, this was not the best!!On returning after my long walk, I ordered food (cheeseburger and chips). I was with family members who were also eating. There was a wait, nothing too traumatic. The food arrived...for everyone else whilst I sat and watched my burger being delivered to a gentleman on a different table. Food orders had obviously been mixed up and the waiting staff didn't seem to know what was going on, nor could they read the table numbers correctly. In the mean time, I picked chips off the plates of others like a pesky seagull!! Staff were apologetic but I was quite frankly annoyed, having to watch another man appreciate my original burger. My food eventually arrived but everyone else had finished and I hate it when that happens!! The burger was nice, chips were good and the pickled gherkin made the experience a bit better! In short...the hot beverages could be hot and the waiting staff could know what they're meant to be doing...I'd give the place a second chance!

Let's start off with the positives; lovely location, lots of staff floating around, a nice chap took our order (but, bless him they'd located him in a little cell), friendly table clearer and the curry was good. We ordered a curry with half and half, a baguette and a side of sweet potato chips, all of which took an age to come. As mentioned, the curry was lovely, however the chips were decidedly average and the rice was dry and un-seasoned. The baguette was ok and came with an enormous portion of crisps. The sweet potato chips, all £3.50 of them were absolutely disgusting; they looked as if they had been cremated and tasted dreadful. We complained about them but to be honest no-one cared. The only apology we received was from the server on the ice cream section, even though the complaint had been taken to the chef. In summary, over priced and not very nice. Eddy's, you used to be great, let's hope you can improve again, as you currently seem to be living on an old reputation and your isolated location to make your money.

I used to travel across half of Wales to go here. Used to be brilliant. What the hell happened? Went yesterday. Service was non-existent. Ordered a pot of tea and a milkshake (initially). 35 mins later they eventually arrived and the milkshake was a glass of milk with flavoring in it. No ice-cream. Staff seemed to be mainly school kids on holiday - fine for clearing tables but not a way to run customer services. Total chaos. The glory days have gone and customers now seem to be the captive audience of the surf school and camp site. It needs to improve or it'll find it a long, cold off-season with no regular customers.

Worth stopping by. View is great from the terrace if a little windy today. Burgers were very nice. My daughter had the mellow chicken curry with sweet potato fries. Really nice. Milkshakes were excellent also. Service was a bit slow - but reasonably friendly.

An odd ordering set up in this cafe - you order and pay from a hatch and then wait. The young girl taking these on the day of our visit obviously wanted to be somewhere else - was disinterested at best bordering on surly and rude. We waited over 15 minutes for two cups of tea to be delivered to a table. When it finally arrived one of the tea cups was still dirty and unusable so had to revisit the girl who doesn't understand the term customer service to replace it. She wanted me to go and wait for another to be delivered to the table and was most put out when I said l would wait. How difficult is it to grab another clean cup? Even standing and waiting took a while. I'm glad I wasn't staying here as the all the young waiting staff obviously stick to a strict protocol which doesn't include friendly customer service. Shame as the rest of the campsite us spotlessly clean and seems well organised.

Firstly, be aware that you have to pay £3 to park at the campground. That’s fine if you want to spend a few hours at the beach but makes an expensive cup of coffee if that’s all you want. My wife and I had a cream tea for two which was reasonably priced. The quantity almost matched the price so can’t complain. Our friends also wanted a cream tea but as one of them only drinks coffee, they asked if they could have one coffee and one tea instead of two teas with the cream tea. The answer was No! Not even at a supplement! We felt they could have been a little more accommodating. In other respects we were satisfied except that we had to ask for more jam. We ate outside in lovely sunshine enjoying the beautiful country and sea views. We could not help but notice people had left quite a lot of food on their abandoned plates, suggesting possibly that the quality may have been lacking. Of that we cannot be sure. On the positive side, it is a nice building in a lovely setting staffed by pleasant young people.

Lovely modern café where we enjoyed a cream tea after walking off the hill side in the rain. Very good value and looked a good menu for meals too. Don't be put off by it being part of a campsite - fully open to the public and passing visitors

I am dairy and gluten free and there were no options on their menu. I ordered a breakfast and said It needed to be dairy and gluten free but was given mushroom that had been fried in some butter and oil which were really horrible. It was disappointing that there were no bilingual signs and menus.

The breakfasts are good value (and go down very well if you are camping next door at Hillend). Nice atmosphere inside with lots of local photos and artwork for sale. I would mark this higher except the coffees are too small and there is no wifi.

Absolutely fantastic caff food is outstandingly delicious, very reasonably priced also! the place could stay open longer. But does also offer the amazing takeaway part once it is closed! the view is very relaxing overlooking the beach sand dunes and the sea. owner dai is a very nice man and so is his wife, very well run buisness. Only thing! Beer is a bit overpriced.

Would recommend for breakfast! Nothing special, but traditional breakfast done good! Was a delicious meal, perfect for a pre or post beach walk (if you've already paid for parking, you may as well make the most of it). Also had a very nice coffee, service was great and environment was clean!

We've been coming to Rhossili every other year for 12 years for a holiday on the beach. We've occasionally walked through Hillend caravan park to get to the far end of the beach, or on the way down from Rhossili Downs. This year we spotted Eddy's Bistro for the first time and gave it a go. We had a snack on the way out and a full lunch on the way back. Everything was really tasty and well presented, and excellent value. We will definitely include it in our itinerary in future.

We love it at Eddy's, great food, decent prices, some drink choices, enough...great views and a wonderful place to dine if you are visiting, camping or staying in a caravan. They have wi-fi and it's really big, spacious with some lovely menu options

If you are in the area and feeling hungry then call in for something to eat, but nothing special so don't make a point of driving there. Lovely service though!!

Nice selection of food including home made soups. Lovely spot to sit outside with the dog in the autumn sun. We enjoyed the Bay burger and the Butternut soup. Would come back again.

Really nice place. Nearly everyone ends up here after a fair walk, so it's a great place to relax and refresh. The views are obviously amazing. Whilst chilling, catching a rare signal through wifi is a logical option for some. Finding a connection called Eddys is s good start but when you ask for the password you're told it's the owner's private wifi and not for customer use. Really?

Breakfast with a view. Full Eddys is a family tradition. They also have a good specials board. Our grandchildren love the milkshakes as well.

Had a Birthday meal with friends, our food was outstanding. Lovely selection of beers(I wasn’t driving). We all enjoyed great atmosphere, lovely helpful staff & reasonably priced. I had Salt n pepper calamari with garlic dip & Chicken Cynru (Chicken in a cheese, bacon & leek sauce), with garlic sautee potatoes £21. I CANT recommend this place enough honestly.

I’ve never left a review before but this was too dreadful not too! Horrendous customer service after we ordered over £90 worth of food, delivery driver delivered food to the wrong address with nothing to let us know it had been delivered! When calling to request a refund I was told that I’d made a mistake and to double check with my house and that I should’ve contacted them earlier (even though we waited the allocated delivery time -1hr) We were then hung up on by a member of the team whilst we were attempting to claim our money back 2 hours after our delivery with no food! If I could leave a lower review I would! I suggest no one risks wasting any money on this terrible/rude business!

So after having a family meal at Las Iguanas we came here for a quick drink before heading on somewhere else. The place was packed, yet we found a good table in a relatively quiet corner. We got drinks and I found the staff quick to serve us, it was service with a smile and the staff were friendly and welcoming. We only stopped for the one but this is a place that is return to during the day time.

popped in because Dylan Thomas drank here. Beer was a bit ordinary, service good had a good atmosphere, there was a band and plenty of seating.
