Eddies Sandwich Bar and Grill in Swindon

Eddie’s Bar and Grill doesn’t exist any more. It has ceased trading. Hard to tell where is was, but maybe the shop is now a Gyros shop?

Have ordered many times in the past and had lovely meals, however the last 2 meal have been awful! Mac 'n' Cheese with spinach and red Leicester was not that! No spinach, no red Leicester (burger cheese slice instead!) And to top it off garlic bread was 2 bits of a hot dog roll with a bit of garlic butter on!

I ordered on Uber Eats and when I entered in the comments about my nut allergy, I personally received a call from the restaurant so they could talk me through any potential risks! This was fantastic and a really rare thing for me to experience as an allergy sufferer. However, the food was really disappointing and we only actually ate the slice of red velvet cake. The steak taco was cold, the cheese on it poor quality and chewy and the steak pieces were mainly fat. We also ordered a brownie, which was rock hard and an apple pie which was just the pie and no apple. We lastly ordered a hotdog, the same issue with the cheese and the sausage and bacon were overcooked to the point of charring. Though it looked heavy loaded, the roll was practically hollow where the filling should be and the bread was so thick you couldn't taste anything else. It was really a shame because we had high hopes..

After lasts weeks takeaway Eddies contacted me and we gave them another go. And was not disappointed this time! Burritos, chicken enchilada, chicken taco, chicken nachos and chips and once again we couldn't eat it all. Definitely will ordering again!

Not impressed by our take-away steak burritos tonight. They skimped on the fillings this evening - I've never managed to finished one from here before! Also forgot to add the jalapinos we'd ordered as an extra so we had to add our own chilli sauce to spice them up. Not impressed at all. May be time to give this place a miss & order from elsewhere in future.

New customer and quite disappointed. Had an order confirmation at 7:45pm for our meal. Due to arrive at 9:05pm. Thought this was a bit long to start but never mind we had already ordered! Meal didn’t arrive until 9:35pm (we were just about to call as the driver pulled up outside). To wait almost 2 hours is just too long! The cheesy chips were really good, big and fluffy. One of the burgers was quite dry but the blue cheese sauce was good. The other burger was juicy and tasted nice but major downside the macaroni cheese was so cold, the bacon very salty and not very appealing! The cheesos were pretty cold but for the most part nice. I imagine hot they’d be delicious. Overall for the price- disappointed and with other rival places to get a decent hot burger I’d be reluctant to return!

We decided to have a treat and order from Eddies. We ordered a chilli cheeseburger, the full English, Cajun chicken burrito, cheese dog and chips. When the food arrived the burrito was missing, the chilli cheeseburger had no cheese and the full English had no beans or toast as advertised. I contacted the restaurant to try and get this issue resolved and they said that they had sent it out and basically told me the driver had stolen it telling me to contact Uber eats. I said if it’s stolen I would be better calling the Police. The male on the end of the phone then started to get abusive and said to another male you deal with this f’ing guy. Another male came on the phone being abusive and told me to phone the f’ing police before hanging up. Has to be one of the worst examples of customer service I have ever experienced and it was not my fault. The bag arrived double tied so it would not have been the delivery driver. Basically I have had been screwed over by the restaurant and when I challenged this they become abusive because they had been found out. If you want quality service don’t use this place.

Ordered at 11.45 for the food to be delivered around lunchtime, stated would be delivered rough 12.40, pushed back to 12.50, called the store at 1pm to check location to say it has only just left for delivery, called again at 1.35 as still not arrived to be told he is in the area and should only be a few minutes away, status on Just Eat changed to delivered and still no sign of the delivery, called again at 1.55 to chase again to be told driver is lost and driving round in circles. 2.10 and still waiting for the delivery. 2 telephone numbers were provided for the delivery - 1 stating to call when arriving - no calls from the driver as requested - no food - not happy customers.

Absolute joke.......ordered delivery at 8.30pm.....said 1.15hr wait....so OK no prob.....phoned them back at 10.05pm.......to be told not even started order......fuming!!!!!!!never eat there again out......

Went there last night and all of us loved the food, was my first time and wasn't sure what to expect other than hearing good things from friends but the Cajun Chicken Burrito was amazing, probably the best burrito I've ever had. The owner was a lovely guy and the customer service he had brought over from America was top class and made us feel really welcome.

Ok for a quick snack, too much to choose from, would prefer a more basic menu, would also prefer a cleaner delivery person

Ordered an evening take away collection. We have finally found a good Mexican take away in Swindon! Was very pleased with the food and very good value for money. Owners very nice. Very surprised with the great customer service. Will definitely order again!

I was so impressed with this little place. Authentic American style food. Great service and a friendly atmosphere. Not cheap but not expensive either. You can eat well for around £5 and the portions are generous. Everything is cooked fresh with quality ingredients. The Cajun chicken melt is awesome. Don’t bother with McDonald’s, this is so much nicer. Such a treat to find a place like this in Swindon.

This is the second time we have used Eddies, food delivered to our work place was delivered promptly as usual, hot and delicious, delivery guy is great, so polite, the food is amazing, by far our favourite food establishment in Swindon, good work guys keep it up, you're the best and the food is out of this world.

Honestly hands down the best food in Swindon, if not the entire country! Every meal I’ve ordered is better than the last, cannot fault a single thing. The flavours, quality and ingredients are the best. The staff and atmosphere in shop are also amazing!

We came in here for early dinner in the form of a juicy burger in a bun, well nice. Think everything is cooked to order as we did have to wait for a bit. Worth waiting if you ask me. Would definitely come back.

Went to this place for the first time this evening having seen all the reviews on line. I wasn't disappointed. Super friendly people and super delicious food. Eddie and his staff went out of their way to make me feel incredibly welcome. The choice of so many different mouth watering dishes on the menu is amazing and whilst waiting, everything that was being cooked looked just so tasty. I chose the club sandwich which had 5 or 6 different meats in it, loads of cheese and was absolutely huge - similar to New York deli kind of portions. I asked if I could have jalapeno chillies in my sandwich which Eddie said they had never done before and trust me, it was absolutely amazing! Anyone that hasn't tried Eddies Grill, seriously need to make the effort to go there, I guarantee they won't be disappointed.

The main reason for this bad review is that I had to ask for my money back and walk away without food.

Very friendly staff make feel more like a friend than a customer. The food does take a while but when you taste it you realize why. Everything is fresh and cooked to order rather than pre-made or frozen. As a regular, i had the honor of trying a meal he wants to introduce. I had a soft and juicy chicken breast cajun style topped with bacon, chips, and bbq spare ribs with melt in the mouth soft juicy meat. Defo a thumbs up as a new meal. Well done asif.

We work nearby and having a Burrito from Eddie's is a real treat and scarily addictive! They are freshly prepared which takes time so we usually pre-order but well worth the wait. Yum.

Ignore the scores on the doors, this is the only place to come if you want excellent food cooked by passionate people who love their food. You won't find a better enchilada this side of the Rio Grande

Went to Eddies for the first time in ages as I was on a training course in the area. Seriously made me realise how much i miss this place. Had cajun chicken baguette topped with cheese and was seriously amazing!

If I could have rated higher I would! Staff are fantastic and very attentive. Real wholesome family business, amazing food and a HUGE variety.. the hardest thing is deciding what to eat!

Can't believe I have only just found out about this place but wow! I have eaten the ultimate club sandwich and it is HUGE! I am now back for the cajun chicken and rice with a special slaw. Can't get enough of this place! Highly recommended.

Had the club sandwich, a big e burger and a bacon baguette and a excellent philli steak melt. Sometimes a little slow but cooking takes time. Have some interesting home cooked dishes in the chiller. Nice owner and his mum both very friendly and welcoming.

About 25 years ago, when working in Essex, I was a frequenter of what I considered at the time, the most fantastic sandwich bar and cafe that I had ever been in. Ever since then, I have used that place as my benchmark and until today, no other eaterie has ever come close. An hour ago, that all changed. By chance, I stumbled upon Eddie's after googling sandwich bars in Swindon. The reviews seemed positive, so I had a look at their menu and placed an order over the phone. The food was very good indeed. This place looks to be more of a cafe than a sandwich bar - they do burgers, clubs, melts, loads of dishes with chicken, breakfasts, that sort of thing. Now, I know my way around a burger, and I must say, what I experienced today was probably the best I have ever had. I certainly can't recall a burger experience that has come close. Forget your poncey eateries with their £12 excuse for a big burger, their measley portions of fries and their overpriced shakes (one or two of these do exist in Swindon, that's for sure). Eddie's is in a different league. The place isn't going to win any design awards - it's a straightforward walk in bar and grill with very limited dining facilities. Neither is the service the quickest on the planet. It's a bit like finding a great chinese in China Town, or a curry in Brick Lane. The magic is delivered to the taste buds in a simple uncomplicated manor. But delivered it is. I've never been to the States, but people tell me the portions delivered to the punters in their restaurants are pretty big. I think Eddie's must be the closest i've come to an authentic American take out diner experience. The burger was a beast, and the club sandwich even more so. The service was polite and conversational - you get the feeling that these guys want to please. So, if you're hungry and want to get those taste buds tingling, get yourself down to Eddies. Take a look at their extensive menu and also have a chat with them to see what specials they might have. I intend to be back. Next time probably when the kids are with me - their eyes will pop out of their heads when they see the size of the burgers. And by the way - this isn't just size over substance. The quality of the meat is high. And there's lots of it. Superb value too. I'm sure the guys at Eddies love what they do and the reputation they have. It is i'm sure the result of years of hard work, consistent quality and great word of mouth. But DAMN!, this place deserves to be 10 times the size, with 10 times the customers. Their brand really works and i'm sure that in a prime location and a bunch of tables and chairs, the place would be constantly packed and the tills ringing, whilst every other burger joint, sandwich bar and diner, goes out of business. They have all the tools - the commitment to quality, the price point, the uniqueness of what they do.But, if you ask me, the reason the food is so good, is because they aren't a huge outfit with 40 spotty teenage staff members who couldn't give a toss. They are a two man band who retain total control over the quality and consistency of their products. Go along and take a look for yourself.

Absolutely love this place, come here at least twice a week, for the food and for the hospitality, asif and mama know how to cook, and pack it full of flavour, never had a bad meal here, highly recommend ******

I've been going to this place since it opened and the food has only got better and better fresh and a wide variety and an absolute amazing atmosphere to eat Asif the chef takes pride in all his dishes and dedicates himself to it be fresh and to your specifications and his mum uses her experience to make the final touches to what is already an outstanding meal the eddies burger is legendary if you can eat it all the breakfast is in my opinion the best in Swindon but my personal favourite is the chicken strippers the freshest and most succulent I've ever had and I've travelled to 8 countries and never had better and how do I know there fresh I watch them made in front of me and the price is very affordable and fair £5-£6 will get you a belly full and a drink can't praise this place enough and as for the bad comments I've read I think those people couldn't be pleased even if it was on a golden platter keep going guys 4 years strong I highly recommend to try and be amazed at the quality for yourself

The best food in town by far, the Food is fresh and local, cooks it in right in front of you, real American food cooked by a American. Very friendly atmosphere. 10/10

Been eating here since it opened and as stated in the title its easily the best food in rodbourne. A decent menu and good value is always a winner but the quality of food tops it all.. Will be visiting again soon

Been here a few times hoping the last experience was a small blip however it seems to get worseLet me explain...I go in hope of having a chilli burger on its own at 1pm! Walked in, wasn't that busy a few people.The old woman served me to which her hearing and English is poor so automatically felt my order wasn't taken in correctly but I soldered on hoping they did!40 mins past and even with the attempts of Eddie saying it be a few mins I can see he hasn't even put the burger on the grill! Finally he starts it to which I wait another 15 mins! Food was average and clearly not worth the wait! I had no apology at the end neither did I get a chilli burger, I got a burger with no chilli!If you are willing to wait for average food then this is the placeIf you are willing to get your order incorrect then this is then placeIf you are willing to wait and see Eddie cook one order at a time then this is the place!Very very very disappointed

This place is a bit out of the way for me, but it's really close to the Designer Outlet and I was going there so it was the perfect time to give Eddie's a try.The customer service and food was great. Really worth a step out of the way for a tasty feed.Great for lunch if you're visiting the outlet instead of paying too much in the food court.I will be back here again soon.

We dropped in here after delivering the Scout Christmas post in the local area so were looking forward to a nice warm coffee. Not only was the coffee good and so much better than the usual american style coffee chains. I had a sausage sandwich and my daughter had a bacon sandwich both of which had loads of filling and proper bread. Very tasty.

First time ever eating at Eddies. Currently living in Birmingham and travelling lots for work and family visits finding something good to eat the is made quickly, cheap, and tastes amazing is very difficult to find. Visiting my boyfriends parents for a few days in Swindon he suggested that we ate at Eddies while out Christmas shopping. And I was certainly not disappointed by it. All members of the staff were so polite, friendly and helpful in giving advice about the food choices, the menus are artistic and quirky, the focus on community and local/sustainable produce is commendable, And the food - it was outstanding! (Club Sandwich and Philly Steak Baguettes)

I'm originally from Swindon and used to come here for lunch every day while at work. Having lived in Birmingham for the past three years with regular commutes to London, I have tasted my fair share of food from independent stores. This is still the best by far! I took my girlfriend in there and we split half and half on a steak baguette and a club sandwich. The food is so tasty and definitely worth the money; I consider myself a steak aficianado too. The staff are friendly and the owner is dedicated to his local community, supporting local businesses and tradesmen however he can. Would recommend without a doubt. Even a hundred miles can't keep me from coming back for more!

Well this place never fails to impress... yesterday I was in the SERIOUSLY hungry mood.. when only a GOOD PLATE-FULL will satisfy!!. after looking at the awesome menu which is a blackboard all around the shop!, I settled on the BIG-E Burger and Chilli Cheese Fries... the range of could drinks here have also MASSIVLY expanded and they have my favourite Oasis! - well when the BEAST of a burger arrived at my table I wasn't sure if this was designed as a SHARE burger! it was massive. and the extras were amazing and complemented the juicy burger extremely well. the chef obviously puts a lot of time and effort coming up with these combinations. also the chilli cheese fries were cooked ABSOLUTLE PERFECT! the cheese had that awesome browning on then.. and the chilli which is mum`s home-made recipe was outstanding!. - I had to cut the burger in half it was that big. and it was a splendid sight! I seriously don't think I have ever tasted a more juicy flavoursome burger in my entire life.. I have to say this burger is now in number one spot for me!. I cant stress enough.... if your looking for THE BEST freshly cooked food in Swindon, PLEASE don't pass this place by. The owner and his mum are great people and if there is nothing on the menu you fancy... tell them what you like and they will create something for you... that is the skill they have... YOU WILL NEVER BE DISSAPOINTED!!!

Wife and I saw this place on Facebook. We went for Vacation to England and made a 2hr drive to see if the food was as good as it looked on Facebook. It was better. The Big E burger had to be best burger I've ever had. You can tell it's fresh and the portion was huge. Better than most steaks I've had. You can see that everything is cooked fresh to order. If you want quality go there...if not there's plenty of cheap quality cheap prices elsewhere. I'm hungry again

We visited Eddies at the end of September during our holiday and we certainly weren't disappointed. Big portions, tasty, cooked to order with fresh ingredients and well presented. We were also stuck for choice, it all looked delicious on the menu. So, when in the area or just passing, this is the place to go for a good slap up lunch or evening take away.

This place is amazing value for money and the best food I've ever eaten in Swindon. The Cajun chicken is to die for. The breakfast comes with all the trimmings. Very fresh ingredients cooked to order right in front of you. There are always new options, I tried the enchilada last week & it was out of this world!!

Lovely good quality food, with massive portions! Jackets potatoes were delicious. My boyfriend particularly enjoyed the club sandwich. Would highly recommend.

Excellent food I've tried a few things on the menu.my favourites so far have been the chilli cheese burger meal excellent value with good size portions.today I tried the New York club sandwich wow it really is amazing held together really well and well packed with meat. I've also tried the bbq chicken and bacon baguette this was lovely this came recommended and I wasn't disappointed the bbq sauce was lovely and the chicken cooked to perfection.I work at the outlet village so visit regularly excellent value and customer service.

Popped in for a lunchtime sandwich and was pleasantly surprised, a really generous breakfast baguette with a friendly service. I will return.

Wanted something good for lunch so looked on Trip Advisor and gave Eddies a go based on the club sandwich comment. It was amazing! This isn't a place for the faint hearted or anyone with a small appetite. Proper American style food made while you watch with the best ingredients. The club sandwich consisted of Wiltshire Ham, pastrami, turkey, roast beef AND bacon, topped with a delicious cheddar and finished under the grill. Lettuce and mayo to finish it off. I was expecting a greasy, salty sandwich that I couldn't eat all of but was amazed at the quality of the ingredients. Although I thought I'd only have half I couldn't resist eating it all. Didn't need dinner that night! I'm not one to eat burgers and fatty food very often but I love good quality and will certainly be treating myself to explore more of the menu when I can. You can tell that they know their stuff and are proud of their food. Very friendly service. Great work, keep it up!! Oh and the Vegan review made me laugh (sorry!), this place is about MEAT and CHEESE!!!!!!

Live very close to this place and expected to have a great variety of sandwiches, but was disappointed to see that it is very meat-orientated.I ordered just a plain vegetable and cheese toasty and the lady didn't even change her gloves after handling a chicken sandwich and other meaty meals.never went there again

Man best food in Swindon, this 3tier club is just the bomb! Everything in there is perfection! Get down here and try it!! It's your loss!!

This is a cafe with really good food and is within easy walking distance of the Swindon Designer Outlet Centre. Having found this place I will never get food from the chains located in the Centre again. Firstly don't be put off by the exterior. The menu is on a blackboard inside and is very extensive. Food is cooked to order so expect a small wait, but trust me it is worth it. Staff are friendly and accommodating. There are small tables and chairs for about 8 people but it would be pretty cosy if full. Takeaway is also offered. The food is ordered at the counter and you only pay when you have finished your meal, again at the counter.Portions are large and the cost is low and the taste is stunning.Note that if you don't like barbecue sauce ask for it not to be put on the Melts.

A small cafe with wonderfully friendly and good humoured people running it. Great prices and my steak baguette was delicious - red pepper, onions, tasty sauce and cheese. Chips were excellent, served with a bit of cracked black pepper. An enjoyable lunch break.

This little Sandwich and Grill Bar makes fantastic sandwiches. Everything is always fresh and the ham and cheese is delicious. I would highly recommend paying them a visit. The service is great and they are really friendly.

I have been renovating the property next door to Eddies and have on many occasions been drawn in just from the amazing smells wafting from Asif's Kitchen.Take a look at the menu on the wall but I would really go with asking what he recommends today. Slow cooked pork shoulder, Cajun chicken and sometimes Ribs made with his secret sauce. If you are visiting the Outlet Village or fancy a great lunch pop in to Eddies. You will not be disappointed!

I was visiting Shrevinham a couple of weeks ago and stopped in to eat lunch at Eddies. This was my 8th visit to the place and I must say I was happy to be back. I had the Fish and Chips on one day and a Burger with Chips on another day. It is always delicious and the folks are very friendly. I didn't have to say I was from the US...the staff knew from my accent. I will come back again at the end of the year and will make sure to stop in for good food and good friends. The price is reasonable and the food is by far excellent. Gary McGuire

I have tried a variety of dishes at Eddies in the past few months and I am delighted I found a gem! Food is very well priced and doesn't compensate quality. The dishes are hearty and filling -- always a big portion. I will continue to come here on my lunch breaks; a treat in my day!

Another return visit to Eddies today. Fresh Cajun chicken with a side of chill cheese chips!! - I was in central London.. And just knew I could get nothing there that could even come close!! So stayed hungry and headed for the border...... (well rodbourne) but you get the picture! Never been disappointed before.. And that is still unchanged. Asif knocked it out if the park once again... Cheers! Will be back soon.

Have been going since it was opened and have only been disappointed when my fave the cajun chicken has been sold out. Service and food quality have always been excellent.

I go to eddies near enough every day I've tried everything on the board the food is fantastic and cooked fresh be patient good food takes time ( no microwaves ) the staff is always polite the owners passionate a bout is food and it reflects on the plate I'm not a big on reviewing places but I had to this place keep it going guys :-))

This place is such a great little place to go to eat in or have a take away. The food is freshly make as you wait so always served hot. All the people who work at Eddies are always friendly and welcoming. If you haven't been there your missing out. JJ

First visit to this cafe after seeing it listed as number 1 in swindon. The food was delicious, real care and attention taken, excellent hygiene. Staff were friendly and inviting. Service isn't fast but we weren't in a hurry. Sad to see the bad reviews as don't match our experience. My hubby and son had the steak and pepper wrap and they loved it. Best club sandwich I've had in England. It is a simple cafe with limited seating. We will definitely be visiting again!

I have being going to eddies bar ang grill for about 12months now and never had a bad meal I don't normally write reviews but having Sean some of the bad reviews from over the weekend can't help but thinking this is some sort of hate campaign as the food here has never bein anything other than perfect

I have been frequenting eddies for around 3 years now and have never had a bad word to say.... Everyone is courteous and there is almost a family feel atmosphere in the place whenever I visit the food is awesome if you ask me it has probably improved over time the burger is to die for!! Highly recommended.... I can't say I have ever seen anyone complain, everyone I have ever seen in the place has raved about the food. Try it for yourself you won't be disappointed

Been to Eddies a number of times on my lunch break, the staff are so friendly and welcoming and there's such a warm atmosphere I have not experienced with other outlets. The food is superb, made fresh to order and always tastes amazing. Would highly recommend this place for great quality food and decent prices. 10 out of 10 from me

Ordered a club sandwich for lunch, very disappointed at the slow service and hair found in my food! I have read good reviews on the place and sadly I won't be returning

have been a long time customer and friend of this family owned business and give nothing but praise. Wonderful family with food that reflects that well. Club sandwich or Cajun Chicken are real winners.

If you love meat, this is one thing you.must try before you die! It's made with the absolute best quality cuts money can buy. It has more layers than the average person can manage. You don't need and sides. Chips or whatever. This is a meal in one. I visit here pretty often and know all the food is outstanding.. But this sandwich is worth another review. If you are anywhere in swindon.. Or shopping in the outlet village.. Don't waste your money on pre packaged run of the mill food. Go see the guys and gals at Eddies.. I promise you..you won't be disappointed.

I've been going to eddies since day one and for quality of food couples with value for money cannot beat it! Made fresh to order which obviously can be an issue because they do get busy ITS that good but is to die for...personal favourite is the Cajun chicken has a nice little kick to it..staff really friendly and can have a chat about anything.. If you're ever around the outlet village you have to try this place beats the places on offer in the village hands down! Will keep on coming for as long as its there... GOOD JOB guys keep it up

This really is a hidden gem and a good example of not judging what you see on the outside...inside this little delight is some of the tastiest grub ever! Staff are always very friendly and remember you when you come back which is a lovely touch. Food is cooked to order so you can be waiting a while at times, especially if it is at a busy lunch time so if you are in a rush, suggest you calling and ordering beforehand. have tried a few things here now...Cajun Chicken here is AMAZING!!!!! also tried the Chilli here which is full of flavour and tried the Cajun Steak which was also great!

Eaten here loads of times, food is always fresh and hygiene is at the highest possible standard. Amazing menu with flexibility to have it the way you want it. Super value for money, yummy food and fantastic people. Keep up the good work.
