Eastern Tandoori in Ards

Taste of food was great, but not enough chicken in the tikka masalla.. 8 small pieces; too much sauce.

Chips were missing from our order but food was amazing as usual!

Disappointed they don’t bring complimentary popadoms any more. 😢

The chicken in the rogan josh was extremely dry and tough, it ended up in the bin.

I'm not convinced the naan was fresh, it was cold. Also, the poppadoms we ordered were missing

Pre ordered for the next day, arrived 10minutes before our chosen time. Food was delicious! Will order again!

Ready on time but not the best in Newtownards I’ve discovered. The other one round the corner tastes fresher and better quality.

First time ordering from here and wow the nicest Lamb jalfrazi I have ever Tried. Lamb was soft and such a great portion. Arrived before estimated time and a really friendly driver. 5*

madras,pilau rice and garlic nan delivered early. food was great,hot on arrival and madras was just right spicy but not to over powering will definitely order from here again

What a joke of a restaurant and its such a shame, I used to go to this place all the time and they offered amazing deals and now, it's just went downhill completely! If you want a restaurant with a great deal and BOYD! Go to The Ganges! Good food and great staff and it beats this joke of a restaurant... and the best about it, they offer nothing on deals and their food is a complete sham to what it used to be. Such a shame indeed. Thumbs down! Don't waste your time and go to The Ganges!

First time ordering from here and I can see why now it is highly rated, flavours were fantastic - lamb Jalfazi, the most soft lamb I have ever tried. Nann bread was delicious too and it arrived in perfect timing. I now understand the hype!

The last order was average. This order was terrible. Travelled 10 mile to collect it to then get home and find one of the meals was wrong. Supposed to be chicken balti and it was a meal that was chicken tikka creamier and far too spicy. Had to travel another 10 miles to get it changed without any apology from manager. Rice was dry and hard. Far too expensive for the quality provided. Been coming here for years but now that's me finished.

Use the Eastern tandoori all the time, and up until tonight have always been given a complimentary poppadom and dip, no biggie but the meal was 30 quid, its the small things like the odd minor freebie that makes for an incentive, will maybe try somewhere else next time.

Won't be ordering from them again. Never got an Indian meal in my life and didn't get poppadoms with them. For me it's part of the reason I order it. So will be taking my indian meals else where from now on. An Indian who does give poppadoms never heard of such things!

Eastern Tandoori never disappoint. Food is always beautiful and ready quickly. Staff are also fantastic when sitting in.

Always been 5 star but something lacking this time round. Butter chicken was not nice and the pilau rice was sticky. It was eatable but not enjoyable

We had a family meal here this evening and it was beautiful. My 2 sons (13 and 10) loved their meals so much (butter chicken, lamb curry, garlic naan and peshwari naan, rice). The chicken tikka Kasmiri was absolutely delicious and my husband really enjoyed his lamb rogan josh. The best Indian meal we have had for a very long time. Desserts and coffees were very tasty and presented very well. Worth every penny. Service was great too. A really lovely family meal, thank you.

Estimated delivery when ordering was an hour which was OK as knew it was busy time but on payment it immediately increased by 40 mins then got an additional message for another 40 min delay. Phoned the takeaway just told sorry. Ordered 6.45. Arrived at 8.45 and we live in the same town. Disappointed for a £30+ order.

My family has been getting takeaways from the Eastern Tandoori since the 90s and they always exceeded expectations. My only regret is that we have only recently discovered how much of a delight it is to have a meal in their restaurant. Everything we’ve had is delicious and the service is top notch, friendly, fun and efficient. Ards secret treasure really is the best way to describe the Eastern Tandoori! It’s also super value for money. My personal recommendation is the Garlic chilli chicken!

Now has a sit in minimum spend per person of £18 or else they round your bill up to that. That's more than a main course plus rice each, so could be a problem if anyone shares a main course which our kids would have done.

Visited tonight to avail of their fantastic £19 meal deal. Had onion bhajees (sp.?) to start, which were both beautifully cooked, and plentiful, too! For main, I had Tandoori Nagpuri - a new dish for me - but it was absolutely sensational!! The wonderful server was extremely happy to find that right dish for me, and was great in suggesting he would ask his chef to 'up' the spice levels a bit, and add plenty of fresh garlic and coriander (which I love!) The curry was accompanied by a garlic naan, which was both delicious and moreish, and perfect for mopping up my delicious sauce! All in all, Eastern Tandoori is a fantastically bright, modern & extremely clean restaurant with great food and wonderful service. Give this place a go, folks - you definitely won't regret it!!!

Owned by a lovely friendly family for years that produce really good Indian food. Restaurant is spacious and well priced. Never disappoints.

Don't eat a lot of Indian food so I've nothing to compare it to but what I've had here has always been very tasty. The staff are always friendly, polite and helpful too.

For 'Indian' food this was a sorry disappointment. The mixed starter vegetable was nice enough, if a tad overdone, but the main course, Vegetable Biriyani, was totally tasteless. I will not be ordering from here again.

Sent the wrong curry ordered a bunha Nd got a madras being diabetic I can't eat a sweet curry as I'd all ready taking my insulin I couldn't phone to let the restaurant know plz be careful sending right curry as u don't know if the customer is diabetic r not

Visited this restaurant with my partner on a Saturday evening. On arrival we were seated immediately by a very polite waiter and our drinks order taken straight away. Drinks arrived promptly and food order taken. All the food was excellent and tasted fresh and authentic. Prices were reasonable and all the waiting staff very polite and efficient. Some of the other establishments I have visited lately could learn a thing or two from this place. Five stars all round. Will definitely be back.

Went for a meal tonite, havent had Indian food in years and decided out of the blue to go in I was not disappointed. The service was perfect, friendly atmosphere and the food just gorgeous.we got onion bahji and the poppadoms starters and I got chicken curry and chips partner got korma and pilau rice and a keenan bread safe to say we can hardly move an hour later very generous portions curry's had loads of chicken in and was just so flavoursome.with 2 soft drinks. I'll def be going back again 5stars from me.. Not to pricey either under 50 pound can't b bad to that..
