This place has gone downhill. I used to enjoy eating from here and the food was great, but since the beginning of the year its gone downhill rapidly, the food tastes horrible now and is usually burnt. Won't eat from here again.

I ordered a downer kebab wrap with onions. I ate about 2 percent of it because the onions were burnt to cinders, and the wrap was 85 percent burnt. The meat was vile and had a horrible taste. The chips were cheap, oven cooked ones with no taste. It was incredibly overpriced too, but I couldn't be bothered to get a refund. Avoid this place, presumably these reviews are all fake, because this was the worst food I've ever eaten in my long life. Disgusting.

The chips were cold and mushy, homemade oven cooked chips are ten times better and actually edible. The sausages were a rip off of an actual sausage as they contained absolutely no traces of meat and were also not any better than frozen sausages. The workers also have no clue about the restaurant/takeaway they’re working at as they confused us multiple times about prices and the menu options. Would definitely not recommend but rather encourage you to bring your own lovely and way more edible halal food from home. Alton towers you can do better with your halal options. Yours sincerely, a secondary school student who just wants edible food.

We went Alton Towers for our daughters birthday in June. It's not always easy to find halal food at theme parks. We enjoy going eastern express for their fresh mixed wraps. Meat is juicy and tasty perfect for the adults. Good options for the kids too. Would definitely recommend going for lunch.

I visited Alton towers last week with my family and I was very pleasantly surprised to find not only an alternative food outlet (to the usual burgers etc) but one that was also halal. I had the chicken wrap which was delicious and my wife had the seekh kebab wrap! The kids were happy with their hot dogs and a healthier option of a jacket potato for my toddler. Overall a very pleasant experience with accommodating staff. We will definitely visit again and wish they had one on Thorpe Park!!

£7.99 for an extremely low quality, bulk purchased, bland and tasteless 'sausage' on a baguette served with fried onions. Looked nothing like the displayed picture of this thing. Absolute rip-off, even the ketchup tasted like it had been diluted. Wasn't aware that this food outlet is independent of Alton Towers, first and last time I'll ever buy from here. Much better offerings from the Alton Towers own outlets. At least Dick Turpin wore a mask! I cannot understand why Merlin allows such awful outlets such as this on their property as it surely reflects badly on them?

Ate here for lunch today went to the takeout bit though and the guy who served us was incredible he was cracking jokes and looked very happy to be there. I would highly recommend the donner meat wrap as it is probably the best food available at Alton towers and is very fairly priced. It is situated near the wicker man and the aquarium so if you can pay it a visit one of the people I was with had a hotdog instead and regretted it after also this 100% beats the rollercoaster cafe in value and quality.

Not many places catered for halal food so it was the only option really as vegetarian pizza isn't the best. Food was mediocre, not spicy as expected, very pricey as expected, also I requested something from the staff member to mix options from their menu and they couldn't do a simple thing for example on their curry options they said we can no the vegetarian dishes but csnt mix the chicken and lamb dishes like that doesn't even make sense and why I asked and they just said we can't? Not good but hey like I said o my halal place so it deserves average I guess

After reading a good few reviews online about this place we decided to give it a go today. Me and my girlfriend are both veggie and generally struggle these days at Alton Towers and usually go to Woodcutters Grill. We were both quite fed up of having to get a “brown platter” of fried food every time (good though that is sometimes). So here we are at Eastern Express (it’s actually owned by a local restaurant outside of the park). There’s loads of choice from kebabs and wraps outside (which looked very good cooking over hot coals), chicken burgers, beef burgers etc and a extensive kids menu. They were quite busy when we walked in and there was about 10 people infront of us in the queue. It went down quick and the young staff were working well to take orders and get the food ready whilst waiting for the till. I went for the Lentil Daal which came served with rice and a naan bread. Also opted for the samosas to share (can’t turn down a samosa). My food was about £8 for the meal and I think the samosas were around £3 so not the cheapest food you could get in the park but it was genuinely a massive portion so well worth the money. The food was all piping hot and the daal was definitely restaurant quality served in a fast food style. There was quite a lot of choice for veggies, another vegetable curry as well as most toppings for the jacket potatoes. Seating area is busy and the tables are quite packed in but it’s fine. People would only moan if there wasn’t enough tables. There was constantly somebody clearing trays etc so was pretty tidy. My one downfall for this place is the amount of styrofoam they get through as they serve all of the meals in disposable plastic packaging. Hopefully the trend for ditching the disposable plastic will catch on soon. Definitely the best place to go at Alton Towers if you want a change from the standard burgers, chips, hot dog etc.

This is the second time I’ve eaten here, last year it was amazing, this time around, as awesome as the first visit. I had the kebab wrap, with chilly sauce, onion and yoghurt sauce. It was fresh, tasty the pitta wrap was incredible. What is really nice about this place, it is independent of Merlin. Best value and tastiest food on the whole of the park. The only downside, is being a merlin card holder, we are not entitled to 20% discount. This would certainly not stop me from eating with them again, there are two sites on the park that serve their menu. Keep up the good work.

The meat is chewy, chips greasy and soggy and hot drinks that clearly are just poor quality powdered stuff. I watched as the ‘hotdogs’ continuously rolled around and around on the greasy steel tray which I won’t lie, made me want to be sick. I can’t say I saw one person wearing gloves or an apron when handling food either which was off putting. Finally my hot chocolate was bland and watery with very minimal squirty cream on. This is not value for money. My advice? Spend the night extra money and go to one of the nicer places.

Couldn't decide what to eat and spotted a picture for a lamb and onion baguette from eastern Express, asked the man behind the till if it was actual pieces of lamb as shown on the picture and he agreed it was, paid and waited. What I was given was a pale baguette with pale kebab meat, I argued and pointed to the picture, the manager appeared and insisted it was the same and that they were pieces of meat - yes kebab meat not chunks of lamb!! They wouldn't have it and they don't actually do lamb pieces. As the kids were all ready seated and had their lunch, I had no option but to accept it. It wasn't great and I wouldn't go again, there were a lot of people around arguing that they were being given different food to the actual pictures. They either need to update the picture or just say they are sold out, don't lie and try to pass off a different food!

After wandering the park for quite some time trying to decide what to eat, we made a decision and settled on Eastern Express. We were served almost immediately by three members of staff, all of whom didn't seem overly interested and had to repeatedly ask us to remind them of our order. I then jumped out of my skin as the gentleman serving up my curry suddenly shouted over to the counter at the other side of the room asking a man to prepare our naan breads. We were handed our food and told to go and get our naan from the other counter when it was ready. This never happened as we were never informed it was ready and when I finally went to ask about it, the queue was too large and I was too hungry to just stand waiting. The food itself was good, none of us had any complaints on that side of things. The service really should have been better, however. I felt like a burden and after such a great trip, it felt like we ended our day on a downer.

Delicious food, Speedy delivery and fair price. I had the lamb tikka, chicken tikka masala and naan bread. All were well cooked and packed with flavour. Will be ordering again.

Tasty food and fast service. Shame to see it so quiet but enjoyed it nonetheless.

Their Vindaloo didn't disappoint! When you eat curry, you got to appreciate you're no longer in the league of just taste, but in the league of medication and remedy for the body. Staff seem genuine and the takeaway came in mostly foil containers so not so much plastic on my conscience to worry about. Ontop of that, they're having a 1/2 price week to commemorate their opening.
