EastCoast5 in Tendring

Didn't realise how big this cafe was. The coffee lounge area is at the front with a counter which gives the impression that it is full when probably there is plenty of space. We went in after walking from Frinton with our puppy and was warmly welcomed. I had the vegetarian Wellington roast 😋 and was asked if I wanted Yorkshire pudding with it as it wasn't vegan. Incidentally the Yorkshire was very nice as was the rest of our meals. The wife had the burger. Also the coffee is good and we'll try the large selection of cakes next time.

Catered for 12 and added a 13th person in on the day. The service was friendly and personal and made you feel welcome. Food was fantastic, realistically priced, and muscles were creamy and full of flavour. Live music set the scene and made the experience very relaxing and enjoyable. Will happily eat here on my next visit to Walton.

Lively and modern place with very beautiful decoration! We had the Tapas to share, everything was very good, the staff was pleasant and professional. The Jazz concert put us in a mood throughout the evening, we we loved it! I highly recommend!

Really rated the service and the food here

Food was excellent and great menu. Decor was well thought and individual. Score lower as service was very slow but service team were working hard and work on the basis this is possibly a one off.

Have visited EC5 on several occasions always good took my family there today food okay staff friendly but waited 50min for food then a further 20 mins for sweet it’s was not that. Busy

Visited for the 2 for 1 cocktails in the afternoon to check the place out and returned for dinner later. Great to find somewhere in Walton that doesn't stop serving food at 6. Friendly service and the mussels were delicious

Went for breakfast yesterday staff were very nice a little disorganised but very pleasant unfortunately the food was not my bread was soggy beans were cold sent it back .the man offered me a fresh breakfast but I had lost interest by then.its not cheap so I would expect a top quality meal. Very dissapointed

I went here as a celiac as they have a large gluten free menu. Unfortunately i was served gluten! I ordered gluten free hummus and pitta bread. During eating my food i noticed my stomach hurt so i asked the staff if it was definitely gluten free and they replied no. By the time they gave me gluten free pitta bread i was in to much agony to eat. Would not recommend as they did not even apologise.

There were 7 of us and we all ordered something different from the fab menu & the food was amazing. The staff were so friendly & they gave my dog some dog treats. The milkshakes are amazing too. Definitely highly recommend & it’s a shame I don’t live nearer otherwise I would be there every week!

Went here for a friends birthday! It was amazing the staff were friendly, their dog friendly, and they even bought out a little cake for my friend! We had a picky eater with us and even she enjoyed what she ate! Absolutely amazing would definitely eat their again! There were 5 of us in total and we spent about £60 amazing price!

On holiday in the next town along, been here twice in 4 days. Lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. Food is wonderful. The lunchtime halloumi burger is sublime I could eat it every day! Came back for cocktails which were excellent, piña colada was perfection and 2-4-1 between 3 and 5pm. Definitely will be back for another visit before we leave!

What a brilliant alternative to the standard fish and chips. The fish pie (special) was superb. My wife had the Jack fruit wrap and being vegetarian, she said it was the best she'd had. All in all, with our two grandchildren meals, it was very good value. The meal took a fair time to arrive as a party of 12 came in just before us, but they apologised for the wait.... but it was worth it. Thanks. 👍

I took my family there for Sunday Lunch 19th May, we were all very disappointed it was fathers 86th birthday, his roast wasn't that hot, the batter pudding was burnt and dry to taste where it had made and then reheated, the broccoli stem was hard and the flower yellow, my pasta was very unpleasant with pepper in and the bacon looked liked the roast beef cut up. They served my husband a grown man who ordered a cranberry juice and lemonade in a plastic beaker with a straw, his burger looked OK but the chips were hone made.All in all an expensive meal for very little quality.

Looking for somewhere for lunch, we found this little gem. We had a sausage bap and coffee, and it was delicious, very tasty sausages. Service was good, and the premises were very clean. Dog friendly, too. Highly recommend.

Went here for my sisters birthday celebration, was a lovely atmosphere, lovely staff and had such a great time. The food was amazing! Brought some cakes in to sing happy birthday and they displayed and garnished them beautifully with fruit. Will defiantly be coming again. Thank you!

Never had a warm welcome. A full English is now £18 with no drink. Expensive and the food quality isn’t worth it.

Food was very below average to poor. I ordered the fish and chips, the batter was not crisp, a bit wet, and very light in colour. Paying £17 for it was a rip off! Worst fish and chips I’ve ever had! Asked for mushy peas and was refused. One staff member seemed quite moody when we were ordering. I’m not one for negative reviews really, but this was poor and wouldn’t recommend.

Awful service, took ages to be served, and while waiting, they greeted another customer before serving us. Asked for 3 cakes, that were behind the counter, and 3 milkshakes which took a long time to make. Brought the cakes over, but no drinks. Made the shakes incorrectly which took even longer to be served. Redid the shakes.

Such a delightful place , Aesthetically pleasing, the quality and taste of the food is heavenly, staff are so friendly and competent, I'd definitely recommend if your in the area to try it out ,I went on a Friday evening ,there was live entertainment which was a jazz trio which was such a lovely added extra. Oh let me say i had the fish and chips , try it out I'm sure you won't be disappointed

Tiny portion for a roast dinner for £16/£17. Less than one roast potato crushed into tiny pieces, 2 ultra thin slices of meat, half a parsnip and a slither of carrot which is unfortunate as the previous few times we’ve been for lunch has been rather nice

Food was delicious & menu was varied with plenty of options for breakfast & lunch , a warm atmosphere and fantastic service! Most enjoyable brunch or lunch location with friends or family. A wide selection of pattiserie available also if you wanted a favourite coffee spot!

We were highly recommended to go for breakfast, what a disappointment, the place was cold, we opted for a breakfast, the streaky bacon had 90% fat, one of my two poached eggs wasn’t cooked properly, the sausage had been deep fried and was greasy, the sourdough toast we asked for had been griddled with olive oil, butter or should I say margarine with salt crystals sprinkled over it came with the toast, it wasn’t till I bit in to realise it was awful, my pot of tea was half filled so only good for one cup of tea, when I complained I just got told”sorry for your experience” no apology or and reduction in price, the whole experience was appalling. It was a complete rip off at £30 for two small breakfasts

This is the most beautiful place in a gorgeous location. Every time I come here I'm treated like royalty. The staff are welcoming and friendly. I came here whilst on a family visit, lovely food and service. The only downside was that I had to keep moving my daughter's chair as a lot of the clientele were using mobility scooters and there wasn't really enough room. But had a lovely time

A lovely restaurant which I have visited many times, however today I had a Turkey Christmas dinner at lunchtime and it was absolutely exceptional. Every element was cooked to perfection and presented and served to perfection. The turkey was the best I've ever eaten. There were many different vegetables, all cooked perfectly. It was very generous in size and completely delicious. A superb meal. The icing on the cake was a wonderful singer/guitarist, Tom James, accompanying the meal. Fabulous restaurant with brilliant chefs, lovely waitresses, fantastic ambience. Would highly recommend.

Great find. Very friendly with Great service. Food was delicious and the sausages were real ocal and tasty. There is a kids menu and my Grandson loved it. I had a coffee milkshake (highly recommended) and a chocolate ice cream arrived for my Grandson. We will definitely be coming back, their Christmas menu looks very inviting.

Meant to be the owner no customer service at all complained about food and portion size then he retaliated in a very bad manner I said food was not great at all he laughed in my face was very angry with that and plus me and my friend ended up eating separately as food order came up wrong he then spoke to me in the worst manner ever and he's own mother shouted at him and agreed that I should not pay the bill

Spent some time with a friend in Walton-on-Naze, found this gem of restaurant. Manager Andreas shared they have been open since June last year (2022). We chose their Sunday Roast Beef, wow, fresh vegetables, best Roast Potatoes tasted in long time, Beef tender, Yorkshire light and tasty. Horseradish and Mint sauce tasted homemade. Could have done for little more gravy, but it by no means deflected from beautiful food here. Dessert I chose the truffle mix, this I am told changes from time to time, see picture on the 5 small tasters I had the pleasure of eating today... the white drizzle under, yes its white chocolate yum, best dessert for a very long time !! Choices of verious drinks, cocktails, milkshakes, soft drinks, hot drinks, water at table. Amazing service and popular. Book a table to avoid disappointment !! Photos I took were also about the Roast dinner choices; the Theme/Entertainment nights. There was a mix of background music. And gorgeous Bathroom !! The tiles are gorgeous, very clean, beautiful sink and efficient hand dryer. Trust me, these things are important and located ground floor also !! Highly recommended. Food Meditaranian Cyprus influence mix with English. Cant wait to visit the lovely Andreas and his team again x

Absolutely love this place. Fabulous friendly family run business which offers a warm welcome. Superb breakfast with the best ingredients professionally cooked. Lunch is always delicious (Sunday roasts a must!) Can’t recommend this restaurant highly enough.

This is the second time eating here. Our dog is welcomed and the food is amazing. Mandy was our waitress and nothing to much trouble. She was warm and welcoming and very friendly, like you have know her for years. Definitely will be a 3rd visit.

Greek Night did not disappoint! Side splitting entertainment that had us laughing from beginning to end! Plate smashing, belly dancing, glass balancing and dancing in the streets…absolute madness from start to finish! The food and drinks were exceptional as always and the service spot on with smiley friendly staff. This place is an absolute gem and well worth a visit ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We stopped here for dinner whilst on a mini break in Walton on the Naze. It is just a stone's throw from the beach and has a great vibe. The food was lovely, I had the Pork from the specials menu, and we also had a burger and chicken nuggets from the kid's menu. The service was lovely and we felt very welcome and attended too. My only negatives were a lack of veg on the kid's menu and that we couldn't leave a tip for the staff unless it was cash. It is such a shame companies that become cashless don't have options to tip staff. I would have liked to be able to add a tip for them, not for the management, on the bill or a separate tip machine at the door or bar for the staff. If we visit Walton on Naze again we will definitely visit 5 East Coast again.

First time visiting this place. We found it to be very welcoming from the minute we walked in. We were served by Kerry who went above and beyond with her customer service and the food was great too. We will definitely be back 😄

We visited this place after a hot day in the sun, but we got out disappointed. The place is overpriced, and the quality of the food is low. They served us a warm beer! We ordered for starters poutine and fried squid. The fries were covered in cheese, and the gravy was horrible. That's not a poutine! The squid was not present.. honestly, small pieces are covered in large crunchy batter. Then we ordered a cheeseburger and a chicken burger. The only nice things were the fries that came on the side. The buns were soggy and poor quality, and the chicken was like redone and had a brown colour. We paid £55 and left disappointed. As an advice.. either you put up the quality or put the prices down. We will not return.

We came in for breakfast and the food was absolutely delicious. The service was so quick and the staff were lovely. We don’t live nearby but I would 100% drive the hour back here to eat at this restaurant again. Would recommend.

Wow…wow.woooow!! What a place!! From the minute I called up to reserve a table to the second I left they could not have delivered any higher level of customer service! First of all the place has amazing style inside! The waitress who served us was lovely..she really made the effort with our little girl..getting her a colouring pad and crayons..my phone was nearly dead..she put it on charge for me. The food was delicious….the presentation…the flavour…incredible!! Highly recommend a visit!! We will be back!!

I live local and it has taken me far too long to eat here. Partly because I turned up on a Monday twice, forgetting they are closed on Mondays. I made is there finally and was not disappointed Fantastic food, service and atmosphere. We had the breakfast/brunch menu. The maple burger was a sure fire hit with my husband and son. My daughter and I had poached eggs and they were fantastic. The kids are asking to go back already and everyone I speak to who has been has said how much they enjoyed it. So, we were late to the party and we will be going back again and again.

5 stars only begins to describe the outstanding experience we had at EastCoast5 today. The staff are so incredibly friendly, charming, and took such good care of us and our dog. They were super attentive and made us feel really at home even though it was our first time here. The food was so incredibly delicious that we had breakfast then went back for dinner the same day. My favourite was the crispy prawn bao buns, so much so I had to order it a second time after my main course. By far some of the best food I've had in a long time. The variety on the menu is awesome and the restaurant decor is so beautiful and cosy. They are also super duper dog friendly, so it's the perfect place to go before/after a walk on the beach. We can't wait to visit again next time!
