Dunes Hotel in Blackpool

Had Lunch on Saturday with our friends. The meal was enjoyable and we were well looked after by Chloe. Wouldn't hesitate to visit again.

I had a small roast and hubby had the normal size. Cooked to perfection by Hannah. Beef, roast potatoes,cauliflower cheese,carrots,broccoli,peas,cauliflower,stuffing and a Yorkshire pudding! What more can you ask for?…the gravy came in its own little pan! xx

Great atmosphere. Busy, but not too busy. The bar person Chloe was very friendly and attentive. Didn’t eat today but it smelt and looked awesome

1st time we had been in for a while due to lockdown but I must say Claire was very welcoming to us. We only went for drinks but decided to try the food as well. The food was very nice and great value. I think it was a new menu as well. Great selection to choose from. We will be back. Well done Claire and the team all of you were very welcoming.

Nice bright, clean pub. Plenty of choices on the menu, all at reasonable prices.Food was served quickly and of a decent quality for the price.The pub felt comfortable and really friendly, being a bit back from the beach, it didn't feel too touristy.Well worth a visit if you're staying in the south of Blackpool

We visit the dunes regularly, but due to covid we haven’t been able to go as often as we’d like. However, since restrictions have eased we’ve been able to visit for food and drinks both as a couple and with our children. The staff are fantastic, cannot do enough to help and are doing everything they can to keep customers safe. Good and drink are top notch. We will keep going back.

Good value for a family to eat, food was the usual pub grub but nothing wrtong with that. Staff friendly but for some reason we had to ask three times for the kids dessert, which was a pity as otherwise everything was fine.

Watched the euro final here. Brilliant atmosphere , great service . A big shout out to all the fantastic staff especially Duncan , Clare, Lawren and Nathan . Everyone really enjoyed their night .

Have been a few times and always felt safe (during covid)The food has always been exactly as ordered and it's a lovely cosy pub.Shout to to the staff who are attentive and helpful. In particular Claire, Nathan and Chloe who made our night an enjoyable one.

Covid restrictions managed in a friendly, professional manner. Great range of drinks and a menu with something for everyone. Warm and polite staff who went out of their way to accommodate us, cannot recommend highly enough and will definitely return.

Fab day out Sunday. Very well organised and responsibly distanced. Great atmosphere, sport on different screens for everyone, staff couldn’t do enough for you. We went to the dunes this evening me my partner and 2 children. Food was amazing staff were fantastic nothing to fault what so ever. Was welcomed by jason as we walked in the door who made us feel very welcome. And our waitress liz made sure we had everything we needed.will definitely be going back. Myself and the wife came here on the three nights during our stay in Blackpool and we were really impressed with the place, the staff are really friendly and helpful and our meals were really good,we also felt safe with all the precautions they had in place for covid, we'll look forward to our next visit year

Was visiting the area and booked a table at this pub for dinner. COVID one way system very obvious. Could not of been more impressed! The staff were all friendly, helpful with any problems and couldn’t of done any more to make it a great experience. One staff member, did not catch her name but she had jewels on her face mask was fantastic, went above and beyond! She is a good asset to the pub. Hope to visit again soon!

Before lockdown I had actively avoided this pub, having previously been a regular, due to the terrible attitude of a particular 'lady' behind the bar, possibly senior to the others.I visited last week for the first time in a while and am pleased to say what lovely change!The staff were lovely and helpful, social distancing was great and I also enjoyed the food. We were certainly made to feel welcome.As long as that woman does not return, I shall return again!

Awesome and really conscientious staff of the COVID rules! The clients at times are not though..Especially their toilet habits (how easy is it to flick a sign on a toilet door??)

What a lovely day out. Can't praise the staff and service enough. Everyone was friendly and happy to help. Due to Covid, genuine precautions were being taken to make everyone feel safe. The table service was brilliant thanks to a ever diligent Claire, making sure all our needs were met. Food was hot, fresh and delicious. We will be back. Thanks Guys

Sine they opened after lockdown the staff have made us all welcome. Well organised and friendly with table service and a smile. There are rules to follow as with any pub but they carry it out well and try to make it as good an experience as possible within the guidelines. Nice to be able to get back and see friends (and the staff) over a beer. Well done Dunes!!

Since reopening after lockdown the Dunes team have gone above & beyond, implementing social distancing & safety measures to put your mind at ease, creating a warm & friendly atmosphere for customers. Great food, great beer & service with a smile! Perfect!

As regulars to the Dunes Pub it was only natural that we celebrated my father in laws special birthday there. Claire made the day so special for us all, friends and family. She very kindly decorated the table which was beautiful. We could not obtain a relevant cake for him but on explaining this to Claire she managed to also organise (at an extra cost) a delicious birthday cake. I must also mention the kitchen staff as well. The food was, as usual, delicious and piping hot. Thank you Claire and all the staff for all your help and for making his birthday so very special..

One word. FANTASTIC. Friends and family booked meals for both the Festive Lunch and the Xmas Lunch. Good choice on both menus. Lovely, hot tasty food on both occasions. Table decorations, on both occasions, were a credit to Claire's artistic flair especially the Christmas tables, they were beautiful. Certainly made a lovely Christmasy atmosphere. The waitress service, again by Claire, was perfect. She worked extremely hard and always had a smile and time for everyone. Must also mention and thank the bar staff and of course the kitchen staff for the their friendliness and great food. Thank you to all the staff at the Dunes.

Me and partner went in today. I had steak wrap asked for well done. It was very pink hard to cut. Chips cold. Orderd and paid for onion rings that dint even arrive. Partner ordered plain cheese burger came with lettuce on again very pink in the middle sweet potato fries that was so hard he couldn't eat them the place was so hot you couldn't eat anyway the heat made you feel sick.. we had a bad meal in ther just before Christmas. Though wed give it another go wish we hadent bothered. Deffo wont be going back the coke was flat and like water

We came here for lunch on Saturday and although the pub looks quite scruffy from the outside when we walked in we were pleasantly surprised. There was some sport on the televisions but everyone seemed to be sitting in the left side of the pub so we went around to the right where it was empty. The seats were pleasant, the heating was on and the pub was clean and tidy. I had scampi and my husband had a steak sandwich. Unfortunately, mine was served on a cold plate so my peas were cold and the chips and scampi were just warm. Also, the scampi could have done with another couple of minutes in the fryers as it was a bit pale and limp. The bread for my husband’s steak sandwich was not the best bread choice to have used and fell apart when he picked it up. The worst part about our visit was that half way through our meal a gentleman decided to come and sit right next to our table and he smelt quite bad. This resulted in us finishing our meal as fast as we could so we could get out and breath some fresh air. Obviously, this is not the pubs fault but we are not inclined to visit again.

We visited this pub for the very first time on Boxing night,while on holiday in Blackpool but was given a very frosty reception by your bar staff,the first comment by a certain female employee who informed me that I was standing at the wrong end of the bar, because if I'm not known ( in other words if I'm not a regular) I probably wouldn't get served, and after that my son who was seated at the time with other members of my family asked another younger female staff member could she turn the TV down and she said I'll go and ask and came back and said she cant,(in others words they wouldn't) okay we do realise that there was a big football game on but the sound was deafening, this seems to be a classic case of favouritism towards your regulars, and you don't give a damn for "strangers", you have got a very nice pub but you need to be a bit more friendly to whoever may visit your establishment.

Been a few times the last couple of weeks. Seems a little under staffed. As only ever 1 bar maid on. Food is lovely. Pub its self clean but cold. Staff are lovely and have ha chat to you

We called in to the Dunes for lunch and the welcome was fantastic. The lady behind the bar was very helpful and cheerful. We had the Chicken and Mushroom pie which was excellent. A good value friendly pub with good grub.

Visited with friends over a week ago (sorry I didn’t write sooner) and was expecting to go to just another pub with some friends for a catch up and some scran. However what I received was 5 star service, brilliant food and the best banter in Blackpool from the ladies behind the bar. I didn’t catch any names but I heard one call the other mum. You can see the relationship between them is fun and happy and they draw you in as they bounce off each other. My gammon was one of the best I’ve tasted with perfect eggs and my friends burger was gone in 60 seconds therefore it can’t have been bad, the beer was perfect and lively. My friend even got a free drink for his birthday (the reason I was visiting) Thankyou to those ladies who made our day by making us welcome, involved and humoured!

I visited Tuesday day time with my wife and what a lovely afternoon we had. We have recently moved back into the area and having not been there for many years we wished to see how it had changed. It has a lovely spacious and homely feel. We ordered drinks with a pleasant bar maid (shoulder length dark hair) and asked if there was a long wait on food. She said there wasnt so we decided to stay for lunch. My wife had the steak (which was cooked to perfection for her) and I had fish and chips. Beautifully made batter and all was well presented. We were both so please we stayed for afew more drinks after that chatting happily to the bar maid, the delightful chef who we asked to thank (who also was serving on the bar when needed) and other guests alike. My wife said we've found our new regular. Thank you ladies

Decided to meet my partner and her family after an early shift had finished. Got there for 2.30 and required a nice cool and refreshing cider. My partner and rest had already eaten and was wanting another whilst sat outside. As this was mentioned a young lady now known to us as Hannah

I went to the pub on Father’s Day with my 2 young daughters, this is the first time I’ve been but it won’t be my last. The menu was quite minimal but the food was gorgeous, very well cooked and presented nicely. The waitress that served me was called Steph, she couldn’t have been more helpful, she came across very knowledgable and it was clear she had been doing this for a while. She checked if everything was ok and even had time to talk to my daughters even though she was obviously very busy. Must admit the overall experience really made my day. Thank you to all the staff especially Steph for making my day special.

Anyone who hasn’t visited this establishment yet should, I went alone and was made to feel very welcome & not at all uncomfortable, I bought a drink and sat at a table in the window, I was browsing the menu just to see what food they did but then decided to try it, I ordered a steak, chips & peas my order was taken by a lovely middle aged lady with dark hair ( sorry didn’t catch her name) she was very helpful and attentive. The food was delicious and I’d highly recommend it, I will definitely be returning.

I would just like to say what a brilliant Experience I had at the dunes over the weekend as me and the family came over to visit. When we walked in we had a lovely welcome off a young lad call Sean and he came on the bar to serve me with a brilliant customer service attitude and very polite.

I brought my Dad for food on fathers day and our order was taken politely at the bar by Steph and we was offered all the available extras, then our food was served and we were checked on during our meal to ensure that it was all good. The customer service was fab and improved my experience at the Dunes throughout Steph remaind our server and always had a smile :)

Having lived away from Blackpool for five years I have recently returned and started visiting The Dunes regulary.What a great pub, something for everyone. A very good selection of well kept beers, regulary changing real ales as well as fashionable Gins and Cocktails. Food is served all day from a varied and comprhensive menu catering for all tastes at very reasonable prices. Duncan and his helpful team including Sarah, Claire, Steph and Sean are always friendly and efficient. Whether you want a meal, a drink with friends, to relax or take in some sport there are lots of different areas to suit all. These include a cosy contemporary lounge, a vaults and a large outside eating and drinking area for warmer days. It all adds up to make The Dunes a pleasure to visit.

The food was lovely! If you're a chicken wing fan, I 100% recommend here. They were so tasty. The cod sandwich was also really good and great value for money, will definitely be eating here again soon.

Directed here by local resident! As an out of area visitor sometimes it can be difficult to find what your looking for!! Good food at a reasonable price. BOOM in the room, this place fits the bill, great find.

So we went for a family meal last night, there were 14 of us but we had booked earlier in the week so they knew we were coming

Had lunch here recently and it didn't really live up to the last visit.

I dined with my husband and sister as she lives nearby and chose off the two meals for £10.99 menu with one extra to pay for. I had Hunters Chicken at a different Greene King pub recently and found it very tasty so chose that again. However, it was disappointing towards the other one as there wasn't as much barbecue sauce and the bacon and cheese on top of the chicken were harder and not as tasty. If I hadn't had the other one I am sure I would have found the meal OK as the chicken was tender and the chips cooked nice and it was served with two onion rings and a small salad with coleslaw at a reasonable price and my husband thought it was all right. My sister had sausage, mash and peas and said the sausages were very nice. Even though the pub was busy service was good.

Excellent beers an good pub grub. Staff deliver service with a smile and good banter especially if Clare and Lauren on shift. Guaranteed to return.

A group of us regularly go to the Dunes for an evening meal. The staff are always extremely helpful and pleasant. The food is always delicious with a good variety to choose from and is always lovely and hot. Good value for money. The pub is very clean.

We love our teatime drinks in the Dunes, it’s a nice chilled atmosphere and the staff are very friendly and helpful, Sean, Lauren Sarah and Nathan. A special mention for Clair and Hannah who always go the extra mile to make our time there more enjoyable. Xx

Really great pub the staff are friendly and a shout out to Claire for looking after uses. The atmospher is great and family friendly.

Busy little place, the staff are fab with the children making them laugh. The food is very filling had to wait for 10 mins for stomach to settle so I could have a desert. Defo coming back and worth the money.

I am a regular at the dunes. I always come in and get the best service from the staff. Claire and lauren always make me laugh (even if they are talking giberish) most of the time they give my dog more attention than me but I am happy with that. If you have a dog I recommend this place but your dog may get served before you

We found this pub through the good reviews on Tripadvisor - the reviews were accurate. The staff were friendly and welcomed us and our greyhound. The food was delicious and arrived quickly. We'd go back if we were ever in the area again!

8 of us in total in our party and we all enjoyed a few hours chatting and catching up over a few drinks in here. It's got a good pub feel to it. Tables not on top of each other. Good service at the bar. Can't comment on the food but by all accounts it's great as some of the party are regulars. We will be back to try it out for sure. Parking available. Just around the corner from Highfield Road which is awash with eateries if you just fancy a drink here before or after you eat. We can recommend Italios which is just across the road.

Took the in laws out for a bite to eat along with the wife. The menu has a good selection the father in law chose the scamp and raved about it this from a Yorkshire man is high praise I had the home made steak pie which was excellent my wife had the Yorkshire pud wraps with beef which was very tender the mother in law chose the chicken and again was excellent the service from Ashley and Clair was second to none and a credit to the pub they made you welcome. The cost with food and drinks for 4 was £30 a very cheap but great meal

Came here on Saturday with my wife and 2 Grandkids. On previous visits we had only had a couple of drinks, but found the staff and the bar to be very friendly with a great atmosphere.

Just your average run of the mill pub, not like it once was, nachos sharing are way over priced, just a pack of crisps with some cheese on and charged £6 will stick to just having a beer there

We have often passed by but yesterday evening went in for a meal. Only sorry hadn't been sooner! Ordered gammon , two free range eggs and chips for three people. It was so very good. Amazing chips, tender not over salty gammon and perfectly cooked eggs. The drinks were good to and staff professional and welcoming.

Went tobthw Dunes after moving locally and had a great time. Bar staff very friendly, clean pub and great atmosphere. Me and a few friends decided to have a few drinks and stay and watch the football. Our table was never full as the bar staff were very good at clearing our many pints drunken! One barmaid in particular was called Kelly, she pretty much served us all afternoon, service with a smile! Always made sure our table was empty of glasses and served us at the bar all afternoon, nothing was ever a problem to her. Thanks to all the staff at The Dunes and our personal barmaid Kelly! Top service, thanks. We will be coming again!

I've visited the Dunes many times for a drink, but only recently ate there and hence the review.

Called in at 5pm and I had the grilled chicken breasts with sweet potato fries and my husband had the rump steak wrapped in a giant Yorkshire...

We visited this pub on the way back from Blackpool, purely because of the great reviews of it being dog friendly.

Stopped off here on a rainy day needing a 5min hidaway from the husle of a very busy morning, staff very polite and friendly, i had a steak cooked just as i asked perfect fries and pepper sauce well it was 1 of the nicest steaks i have had will defo be back for more my partner had the gammon witch he really enjoyed.

The Dunes is a lovely, friendly local pub. The drink selection is varied, with guest ales and a wide range of spirits. We often eat here and recommend this place for food. It is good quality, generous portions at very affordable prices with a frequently changing menu and daily specials. Staff are always personable, polite and helpful. We highly recommend this pub.
