Staff are friendly and food is nice. So why only two out of five? Because the wait times are so woefully poor. I’ve been coming here for lunch off and on for the last few years (as it’s the only place close to work) and the queue is consistently so slow moving. The staff seem to dawdle around slowly all the while seeming stressed with one another. I just don’t understand how and why the service is always so slow!

Revamped cafe but much worse. The only gluten free option shown on the menu board was a chicken sandwich, which was out of stock. Why can't other sandwiches be gluten free? What about the soup? Staff couldn't say why the baked potatoes are not shown as gluten free. There were options of regular and large coffee but that isn't shown on the menu board. Toasted tea cakes are apparently available but also not on the menu board. What other options could I have had that weren't on it? We shop regularly in Dunelm but doubt we'll use the cafe again.

Visited the Cafe in Dunelm Exeter today. First impressions were very good, few people around ( good sign) the young girl that served us was very pleasant. We were only stopping for a coffee but ordered Hot cross buns too. The young girl put my drinks onto a tray for me & the next tray was filthy, wet tea stained napkins, used tea bags - really not nice. Our hot cross buns arrived quite quickly & smelt lovely. However when trying to eat them they were pretty awful, I have never eaten a tough hot cross bun before & hopefully won't be doing so again. Very disappointed.

I have been to this cafe a few times when shopping and thought it deserved a mention. The cafe is upstairs in the shop, but the place is always clean, staff friendly and it serves excellent coffee and quick food. Their bacon sandwich are some of the nicest I have had anywhere. The also serve very nice Lemon Meringue Pie. The place is suitable for everyone who wants quick good quality refreshment

Absolutely shocking service! Waited 45 plus minutes for food for my client and I was waiting 55 mins for mine but went up and they hadn’t even made it! Would not recommend this cafe at all.

Beautiful setting, nice drinks. Shame about the unwelcoming staff and wait time for drinks on a quiet mid-week visit. Wouldn’t recommend.
