Honestly don't know where to start with this amazing venue ❤ They have been super helpful through our whole journey, with nothing being too much for them. Even though we had to postpone from our original date we were so happy to have celebrated our special day here in January 2022 and wouldn't have wanted it anywhere else. All the staff here were so accommodating and welcoming and we will definitely be back for our anniversary, and any other opportunities we can get for not only the lovely staff but the amazing food and beautiful decor 😍❤

We held a 1940s murder mystery birthday party and the Dunedin team were so helpful, fabulous service before and during the meal. Such friendly staff. The team worked with me beforehand to choose the menu and help arrange the event. We couldn’t have asked for a better venue to have the party. Food was simply excellent. Great portion sizes and so tasty. We stayed over, even though we live less than a mile away, in the Stable room and our guests in other rooms. All rooms are well appointed but the stable room was fabulous, very large and wonderful bathroom with huge dual walk in rain shower. Breakfast service was good and staff attentive. We have had Sunday lunch before but will certainly be having plenty of meals and parties here in the future. Also very good value for meals and rooms. Big Thanks to the staff👏

We attended a Wedding Reception at the weekend and were very impressed with this venue, we had a fantastic day from start to finish. (It's located about 16 miles to the east of Hull, roughly a 25 minute drive). All the staff were very polite, smart and attentive. The beef and Yorkshire pudding canapes were gorgeous! The wedding breakfast was superb - all three courses - no complaints at all. The Wedding Breakfast room is long and looks over the small, but beautifully kept grounds, where this is ample space for a wedding party to socialise, particularly in good weather. Outside was also an ideal location for the wedding photos as well. We moved from this room for coffee whilst the Reception room was cleared and set up for the evening entertainment. The resident DJ was good. There is a separate bar area and a room to sit and have coffee. The amenities were very clean with individual flannels to dry your hands. Whilst I can't comment on the accommodation (because we camped with our touring caravan about 3 miles away), those that did stay at The Dunedin, said they had no complaints. A word of note - The main car park (possibly for large parties only?) is up a gravel drive, slightly down the hill on the left (as you head towards Hull), or just before the venue the gravel drive will be on your right (as you head through Patrington). This is a small residential, stony area and patrons of Dunedin should be aware not to park directly outside houses, although occupants were very helpful in advising us. The Dunedin Car Park, I think is mainly for drop down and pick up. I also can't make a comment on "value" or "recommend a dish" as we were guests. Just wish this venue was 250 miles further south so I could hold my wedding there!! Thank you to all the staff at Dunedin from a very happy Wedding Guest!

Nice location and a well presented hotel. A couple of the rooms are stunning, if you stay ask to stay in the stables. The owners and staff are really nice and very polite. The negative bits are few but here goes, the shared bathrooms in a couple of rooms let it down, no one wants to feel like they haven’t got privacy in this day and age. The food is first class but nothing simple, please include some easy food on your special, and when someone orders a side of chips please make the portion bigger, I got ten chips for three pounds, as nice as they were I expect a bit more. Bar price is a bit steep your driving your guests to the local pubs you don’t need to do this, I would have stayed in the bar but for your prices because it very nice.Overall a nice stay Thank you .

I attended the venue as a wedding guest in August 2016. The venue itself is pleasant and clean, and I enjoyed the food that was served during the Wedding Breakfast. Apparently it wasn't to the specification of what the happy couple had paid for, but neverthless I enjoyed it. What wasn't so pleasant was the evening reception. The function room quickly became over-heated and stuffy, and although there was an air conditioning unit, it was not functioning. Additionally, the venue is subject to a 10pm curfew which means no windows are allowed to be opened for venitilation, and guests have to vacate the terrace at this time and come inside at this time. By 10:45pm the atmosphere of the function room as unberable, and my partner and I left prematurely, spoiling what should have been a fun evening. I would hesitate before agreeing to attend a function at this venue in the future.

We attended this venue as part of a wedding party. The venue is pleasant enough, but the food served, although obviously picked by the Bride & Groom, was over-cooked and not particularly warm. The service was also pathetically slow - for the amount that the Bridge & Groom will have paid, the least the venue can do is ensure and adquate level of staffing. Based on the experience of this event, would definitely not go back to this venue to dine.

First ever visit to Dunedin for an evening meal, Thursday evening at 19.00. The place was empty on arrival, never a good sign. Took for ages to get four drinks srved to us - no idea why. We were presented with a set meal menu. three courses for £25 which seemed reasonable. We ordered steaks and yet were noot asked how we wanted them cooked ( we volunteered the information ) - the steaks were like leather shoes - the starters were very good, the puddings were average. We had to ask for Steak Knives adn were noot asked whether or not we wanted any sauces etc. So average main courses, large portions - probably too much, poor service which suprised me if im honest. We were asked whether we enjoyed the food - i did explain that the steaks were awful which was more or less ignored. I was suprised by the experience , i had hoped for more. However, we will return and will avoid the steaks!.. ps, my dog enyoyed the remains of the three steaks that were all left uneaten

A quick trip to the kitchen to see chef and it was sorted. We skipped starters as we wanted to leave room for desserts. Mains chosen included rib eye steak, duck, sea bass and chicken, all beautifully prepared and so very tasty. We visited Dunedin for a wedding as our friends had chosen it as their venue. It's suitable for smaller weddings, they had around 30 guests which was perfect for the size. The aisle was short and fairly narrow so no big dresses would be suitable. The wedding breakfast food was really delicious with a selection of cakes for afterwards. The grounds are beautiful and with the nice weather on this day it was lovely to sit outside and enjoy the photos been taken, there was some toys provided to keep the children entertained on the lawn. Watch the bees been attracted to the lavender bushes! I wouldn't recommend Dunedin for the night do of the wedding as there are many different rooms and the guests would all seem to be spread out but lovely as the day venue.

Had a lovely, great value Sunday Lunch here. Everything was home made, from the melba toasts in the starter to the lovely, complimentary chocolate truffles at the end. Lots of credit for that and a note for those restaurants too lazy to do the same. The salt beef hash starter was beautifully balanced and the salmon pâté excellent. The main courses of fish and beef were lovely. The accompanying vegetables were some of the best cooked I have had. On a point of improvement- the vegetables didn't need the cooking in cumin and the mash didn't need horseradish adding. My Wife, Sister-in-Law and I were suitably impressed by the elegant surroundings of this country house style restaurant.Having many times previously been disappointed in the epicurean wilderness that exists East of Hull we were not surprised when the young lasses charged with front of house tasks exhibited a willing effort, but almost hilarious lack of knowledge and training. We feared the worst, but when the food arrived - wow! We realised we were eating the culinary products of a future star. To start we all had the local Withernsea crab which was served dressed and out of shell along with little dabs of delicate curry mayonnaise, and the most delightfully crisp and delicate cauliflower fritters, along with slivers of meaty crisps and a scattering of tiny samphire shoots. The flavour combination was novel, but excellently judged. For mains we had two sea trout (fish of the day) and one lamb - which greatly impressed my France-dwelling gourmand Sister-in Law.The sea trout were served crispy skin-side up with new potatoes, more samphire shoots and a deliciously intensely piquant lemon sauce. Vegetables on the side were chantenay carrots, green beans and kale treated with a mysteriously aniseed flavour which we couldn't decide was from fennel or an anis licquor. We did ask the waitress who said she'd ask, but she disappeared never to be seen again. Now thoroughly hooked by this culinary magician's burnt offerings, we had to plough on with dessert - rhubarb fool with ginger parkin crumble for my Wife and her sister - apparently as delicious as it sounds, and dark chocolate tart with honeycomb and pistachio crumb for me. There were supposed to be raspberries with it but I got a generous dollop of thick double cream that the chef had waved a magic wand over. I didn't get an explanation but by now I was in eating mode and polished off the lot without speaking. It was fantastic.Do try this wonderful restaurant while it's still in its infancy and eminently affordable - I assure you that in a year's time it will be very expensive - once they've ironed out the wrinkly front of house and realised that you should really train your staff before unleashing them on the general public.I can't wait to go again. I think we'll try it again next week!

I photographed a wedding last year which was beautiful. Immaculately decorated and wonedrful service. This Sunday I went for lunch with 10 friends and for £16 for 3 courses the food wasn't compromised at all. Very good value and ambience.

Started as an upmarket B & B , now a lovely restaurant serving lovely fresh food, I would particularly recommend the 3-course Sunday Lunch which is amazing value as well as 1st class food. There is a Brasserie as well as the a la carte menu & they also serve coffee & cakes during the week. Would certainly advise people to book especially at the weekend. Enjoy!!

We stopped in on a Tuesday late afternoon. There was only one table occupied so it was nice and quiet. We both had double scoop cones. There were loads of ice cream flavours to choose from. Yummy.

We booked into the lodges next to the Gardeners Inn and decided to walk around for dinner & drinks. The venue is decorated for Halloween which I did enjoy and we had a lovely welcome from the waitress. A few item were sold out but the menu was plentiful and the food did not disappoint. I had the sizzling hunters chicken and my partner had Korean Chicken. Portion size was fantastic the side salad & slaw was fresh, definitely the best hunters chicken I’ve had. Banoffee Pie & cream for dessert again it was better than any other I’ve tried. Lovely atmosphere, service time felt right for the number of tables eating and the price was reasonable. Would recommend 100%

First visit to this lovely little restaurant to celebrate 🍾 both Mother’s Day and my wife's 60th birthday and we were not disappointed! The setting in the window table with background music and plenty of space was perfect. We ate off the a la carte menu and we both had three courses complimented by a bottle of fizz. Each course was food heaven and the service was exceptional so we will be returning for the Sunday lunch to celebrate my birthday in April. Thank you
