Great place for a drink in the sunshine

Great service by overworked staff. But food was so basic and bland.

The dinner I had here was terrible. The chips, peas and steak were all unsalted and flavorless. The calamari was good, but none of the food was worth the egregious price. The service was also terrible (couldn't get anyone's attention and had to ask for items twice), one of the servers is also very loud and rude. I would not recommend coming here.

Food was mid. Restaurant was far too hot. Got refused service on one shot of sambuca while having a valid ID. Don’t recommend one bit. If you’re staying at the premier in your better off going into town.

Don't smother my chip in a crappie sauce.

At the water's edge for a Sunday brunch. Lots of choice but not necessarily quality offerings. No orange juice...

Rubbish visit, ribs were dried out, steak was supposed to be medium but was very well done by the time it arrived, both dishes were baked under the heat light.steak was so thin it was tasteless. Sadly this beefeater appears to be following the other ones and going downhill rapidly

Popped in for a couple of drinks while staying at the Premier Inn next door. Decent enough bar/restaurant. Staff were all nice and friendly, got served pretty much straight away each time. They had a nice selection of draft beers, nothing special, but they hit the spot. The staff knew how to pour a nice pint of Guinness properly, they let it settle while getting the rest of the round sorted. It's one of those bars that are always busy enough and you know what to expect. Will pop back in the next time I'm staying at the hotel.

So disappointed organised a retirement meal here for 22 people. Disaster from start to finish. Service was shocking and food was like frozen reheated microwaved rubber. They had our orders for a week prior and couldn't even get that right. Cheesy potato starter came and was literally chips and cheese with a side of bbq sauce.( minus spring onion as they had ran out) Steak overcooked rubber and fish was frozen. Lasagna was like a microwave meal split between portions. They did replace meals we complained about however were just as bad as the first. Meals were missing and instead of organising that for us the girl whips out a list saying we haven't ordered it when we had. They did give us discount at the end, however we still spent over 700 pound and was 100% not worth it. The service for drinks and waiting times for meals was diabolical. Some people receiving mains and then others 20 mins later. Nobody was present around to take drink orders etc causing a long wait. There was a young guy also serving us ( the one with glasses) he was lovely and did his very best! Total let down, had an effect on our evening. We were also meant to be able to stay till 1130. Bar shut around 2230 and we were moved to the premier foyer at 11 as they had to lock the doors "now". Disgusting attitudes from a couple of the staff. Will not be back.

Lovely food (well done Chefs)atmosphere great,couple of big parties in,staff worked very hard and couldn't fault any of them,well done to all staff,special shout to Rachel who was very efficient,will be back.

Attended a party to celebrate a retirement along with 21 others. We had pre ordered at the request of the management to avoid delay. We had sat down for eating at 7.30 our, preordered food, came at 8.50. Some food didnt arrive and others sent back. I had SteaknAle pie which looked very much like a Pukka pie with powdered mash. This is the worst dinning I have encountered.

I took my wife for her birthday,we both ordered the sirloin steak , medium/rare Wow , absolutely fantastic,steak was cooked absolutely perfect, Would definitely recommend to any steak lovers out there. Also lovely tables overlooking the river Tay. Happy belly

Very disappointed in the poor allergen information. Previously had a separate no gluten menu, and easy to follow info. We chose here due to good experiences with this in the past. Now there is only a folder of printed allergen information, which is almost impossible to follow, seems incomplete, and I still didn't get the cheesecake I ordered, as it apparently contained gluten despite it being marked as ok in the folder. I chose banoffee cheesecake -if I had known it would be forest fruit cheesecake I would have gone for ice-cream instead (though it was still good) The staff in Dundee were lovely, were clearly very allergy aware, and I decided to trust them (and no symptoms so far, which means my faith was well placed). Chefs and waiters were great, but clearly hampered by central management not giving them the right menus/ inserts for allergen folder. There is no meaningful allergen information that I can find online. The folder was paper printouts, which seemed to be for multiple menus, but no clear headings to help me find the right one. (Contained a number of different bits for daytime /evening specials/breakfast/kids/Christmas/valentine's, but I couldn't figure out which matched the main menu we were given with prices and descriptions of dishes). Some dishes on menu didn't seem to appear in the allergen folder at all. Others had contradictory info in different places (e.g. double stack burger with gluten free bun was gluten free, but elsewhere double stack burger without bun contained gluten?? 🤔)

I originally booked a table for 2 but we wanted an extra person added on, we called and spoke with the manager Amanda she was happy to accommodate our late request. When we arrived Amanda greeted us and got us seated straight away. Our server rachel was prompt with taking orders, very cheerful. My nephew loves the kids menu (3 course for £6.99) nachos starter, steak and chips (steak cooked to his liking) and brownie and ice cream. The atmosphere is always happy and will always recommend the food.

Food and service was fantastic, well served and amazing burgers. Not a long wait time at all and great views of the river. Would highly recommend.

Excellent dining experience! We were greeted in a very positive and cheery manner by the manager(? - I am sorry that I didn't catch her name). We were seated promptly, we were introduced to our server, Lynn and our order taken. Lynn was very helpful, courteous and kindly complimented me on my outfit; which was very kind of her. 💜 Drinks order taken promptly and explained helpfully. Free refill of fizzy drinks. I chose sparkling water and was told I could have a bottle of sparkling water of 750ml or a 330ml can. The bottle was a great option for me! Also, Lynn explained to us and showed us that we can receive 25% off our next meal of food AND drink. We were able to scan the QR code. This was above and beyond what we expected! 🤗 Not long after, our hot food arrived on hot plates; which we love. Hot food on cold plates is a big no, no for us. We all found the food beautifully presented and utterly delicious! Lynne checked in on us and asked how our meal was very politely and kindly. My husband was to go and refill his drink for free but Lynn kindly said that she would do for it. We have never experienced such lovely service before and really appreciated Lynn's attentive service. 💓 We did have desserts and coffee; all beautifully presented, lovely, hot and most delicious! 🥰 Lynn came and checked in with us again to see if everything was fine with our desserts; which we really liked. Really excellent service! Lynn was a delight and we really appreciated her fantastic service! Not intrusive in any way; only helpful and kind. I mentioned to Lynn that I really valued her excellent customer service. Lynn said that she does love her job! 🌟 It was clear to see that and Lynn is certainly very good at what she does! I am sorry that I didn't catch the other lady's name (I think she is the restaurant manager). Her customer service is always excellent, too and it's the same great service at breakfast, as well. 💓 In summary, excellent food, excellent customer service and extremely reasonable prices and excellent value for money! Very well done to all the staff involved and thank you so much for your kind and attentive customer service! We will definitely be back! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Amazing food. I love the Mac and cheese and the lasagne as well as the mixed grill. Customer service is amazing and the staff are lovely.

Went for a meal with a party of 6, 1 of whom requires gluten free because of an allergy. This was no problem for the staff who were able to accommodate this with ease. Staff are friendly, constant refills for our bottomless drinks without needing to flag anyone down. Restaurant was clean and food came in good time.

Very bad quality steak. We are order medium rare but we got three different steaks. Nice people and view but really don't know how must look medium rare steak. If you are a professional steak eater dDONT GO THERE!

I discovered a great restaurant chain for meat lovers. Unfortunately in the UK. The interior is rustic but valuable. The kitchen is great, the service is good. What more could you want?

Nice place on the riverside. Food was good esp the veggie burger bit the friues and onion rings weren't great. I wouldn't order their fried stuff again. Nice staff.

We have used this restaurant for over 5 years and always had good service and good food for a larger group of around 12-15 people Unfortunately this year 2024 the food wasn't as good as previously and the service was none existant and when I came to paying the bill the person dealing with ours was not only unhelpful but also rude to 2 members of our group . Apparently a change in policy ment they would nolong split a bill 🤔 so we had to get menus and take over an hour to sort out payment (no tip was left for the first time ever) After many years we will not return to this restaurant 😒

Thanks so much for my card and chocolates I received last night to celebrate my birthday with my wonderful family. Could not fault a thing will certainly be back again.

Staff in here were amazing so hard working the duty manager was there in the evening and again for breakfast but still smiling and chatty

Connie was a wonderful server! Super attentive and welcoming. Great food and atmosphere, as well. View of the water was nice to watch. Couldn’t have asked for a better meal and experience at the Beefeater in Dundee.

Clean and warm restaurant..staff excellent. Food was fine, served quick and hot. Bit pricey for what it is.

Lovely food! Gets quite busy so be sure to book beforehand to avoid dissapointment. The fries and burger were delicious. And the non-alcoholic selection is wonderful, definitely prefer it over some soda. The dessert is quite sweet even for my taste but good overall. A nice cozy place for a family dinner or event. 10/10

The food was unfortunately very bad. They could do a lot better maybe it has to do with the fact that a lot of the food is frozen. The steak that should be the star of the plate in a steakhouse was unfortunately not at all. The manager listened to our feedback and hopes it will be implemented. A little butter and salt on the peas and maybe cut the fillet not so thin but rather thicker. Bravo again to the reaction of the manager👌

Cannot fault. We were there celebrating a child's Birthday... The staff were amazing, so very attentive and patient. They even gave our little one a Birthday gift which was very sweet of them The food as always was delicious and plenty of it, and cooked to our requirements What more can I say other than, we will be back

A really nice restaurant in the chain. The staff were very friendly even though it was very busy. I can see why it is popular as it has panoramic windows giving a beautiful view of the Tay estuary

It's surprisingly good. Was popular and affordable. They fed us very, very well. Lots of different kinds of customers who were all seemingly very happy! Look out for vouchers and offers.

Always a good place to dine. One problem is that the Disabled toilet always seems to show red as engaged even when empty but can be opened with a laser key when someone has locked from the inside?

Rangers fans - avoid. Staff on Sunday 15th didn’t seem to enjoy Bears there wanting to spend money on the buffet according to reports. Can this be investigated?

Extremely tough steak served here, the guy who showed us our table was rude and not service minded, not sure if it’s an image or personality. The other servers were ok but it took way too long to take our orders, get drinks and the bill. I didn’t finish my steak as I would still be chewing on it if I did, we were 8 people and got a table with no view, but I think the whole experience would be better if we got a table with a view, but apparently it was occupied by a single guest. We had a booking for the following day too at the same restaurant but we found a different place to eat in Dundee instead.

Overpriced and over rated, ordered the surf n turf, steak was a bit chewy, prawns were cold and for the price you would expect homemade chips not frozen, portion sizes not that great either

If you're looking for a restaurant that never changes and food you can count everytime: Beefeater Dundee is definitely the place you want to be. They have a wide variety of chargrilled favourites, seating with views over the Tay and the best staff you could ever ask for: Stuart, Daniel, Lily & Brodie to name a few, they will all welcome you with open arms and make your meal one to remember, nothing is too big or small for them. You might just think Beefeater is a chain restaurant but the food is second is none, perfect every time and at an affordable price (if you subscribe to their rewards program, you can get weekly discount codes)... but you didn't hear that from me!

Food was awful. Incomplete meals and Steak was inedible. Steak meal was refunded but overall very disappointing They call themselves a Sreak House !!!!

Food was good . Service was awful. So been back and things are worse got the mixed grill and sent it back it was horrible dried out eggs were solid . I asked for medium streak it came burnt its was way over cooked . If yours comes and you don't like it don't eat it. Manager was great but why was it sent out in the first place. ?

Staff seem depressed and unhappy to serve. Food not terribly good, whether it be for dinner or breakfast. Tables also feel dirty.

Main courses were good, dessert was ok, we just imagined something different. Price-performance ratio but absolutely okay.

The breakfast is incredibly good value particularly with kids. As with any buffet folk can take excessive amounts which creates a bit of a delay until the kitchen catch up but they always do. With a large number of kids you will not beat this for price and the quality of food is very decent also. Lunch and dinner menus are similarly competitive but breakfast definitely out favourite. Staff are always friendly but it's a busy place and they do seem to have to put in a shift.

We went as a group of five for a wonderful father's day meal. Our group consisted of three adults, and two children including a baby and the service was outstanding. I arrived with my baby ahead of the rest of the group and the staff could not have been more helpful. They engaged with my baby and he loved all the attention and they helped me get settled in. As a Mum with a young baby this is not the welcome you experience everywhere. Later, when the meal arrived the food was of a good quality and fab portion sizes. The childrens meal of 3 courses for a set price was great value. Throughout our meal, the waiting staff were attentive and efficient without being overbearing. Special mention to Amanda at the bar and our server (apologies didn't catch your name) with long hair and glasses who couldn't have been more hospitable. However all the staff we encountered were great including the manager.

We booked a birthday celebration lunch 0n the 25th May for 23 Adults and 3 children. The experience was fantastic !! The food well cooked and delicious and served timeously by the fantastic staff. With each dish attached by a first name, which was very impressive. Special mention to the chefs and kitchen staff for their role in providing excellent food and for their system, it was so slick! Nothing was too much trouble for the attentive Staff. So glad we booked here, we will back I & A Golding

Terrible spare ribs, dry otherwise good location

Three of us went for food yesterday evening 4/6/24 Though the food was adequate, the chips were only luke warm but that's what happens when it's a pub chain, in my opinion. The waitress, well, that's another story... She certainly wasn't happy with me! I had asked for the bill, the pub had got a lot quieter, and we didn't get our bill. When looking around the waitress was in the kitchen chatting (I know this because the door opened when other staff were coming out) When the waitress came out of the kitchen, she went to a bare serving area, and she was chatting and laughing with a male member of the kitchen staff. When she eventually came towards us, I asked once again for the bill... Oh, she was not happy. She went to the till, printed out the receipt and literally dumped it on the table in a complete mood and walked away. We couldn't believe the attitude from someone working in the public sector. Obviously no people skills at all... We usually leave a tip, but not this time!!! Needless to say, we won't be returning...

Went for a family meal with a large party of 25. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. The food was excellent (all 25 meals came at the same time) very reasonable prices and efficient and pro-active service. Very impressed. Special shout out to manager Jamie who was a star. Food was bland, service was dreadful. Think they forgot about us, lunch took 1hr and 25minutes. Unfortunately that is our impression of the restaurant.

It was our first time at Beefeater. Everything was great and enjoyed it quite a bit until we were just given the bill without any notice to pay. It surprised us quite a bit because no other place has ever done this unless it’s very busy and we’re told prior about the wait time. It put me off quite a bit.

Great value and our “go to” place for red meat when travelling. - The Beefeater restaurants. The rump steak was perfectly cooked to med rare again
