Food wasn’t greasy, was hot, and flavourful..I had small chips and a small kebab lamb, I asked for them both trayed in small burger boxes and they fulfilled our wishes. had to ask about the ingredients of the curry sauce as it’s a unique taste not typical of chip shop curry, I was told it was Irish.. it has a beautiful quality flavour. Staff are great very welcoming and will do everything they can to help.. hugely recommend their business I’ve been to many chippies in and out of rugby and I can safely say this is one of favourites. It’s abit of a ride out being in dunchurch but absolutely worth it. 5 star recommend.

Excellent food, long wait but it was extraordinary busy.

Miserable looking place, and the staff (old miserable man) was even worse. I've never been treated so coldly in a shop in my life. A greeting more than a grunt wouldn't hurt would it? I've never seen anyone actually go into this place before. Now I know why.

They honestly can’t stop lying, they agree to a delivery time, 30 minutes after the time they agree we called them, said the delivery was 2 minutes away but 20 minutes later still nothing. Not the first time they lie when you call for an update on a very late order. Will never use them again.

Chips looked grey , poor quality potatoes. We had fish, cod and haddock, cod was okay but haddock was awful. £28 not cheap and very disappointing. Will not be going here again

One of the best doners I've had. Bit pricey and a bit undercooked recently. Slow too. But the girl is very friendly and professional.

Really like this pizza place. The dough always tastes fresh and they are generous with the cheese! Went in tonight and got a pizza and some cheesy garlic bread which was so good. I find it so much better than dominoes or pizza hut, and half the price! The staff are all nice. There is a really friendly young who serves me 🙂 I’ve never had bad food or bad service from this place.

Use this place at least once a fortnight and rang today to ask where my food has got to and the owner lied over the phone saying it's on its way... it was 20 mins later then we ordered it for 2 hours before as pre-ordered. The owner was so rude and didn't care about his customer service

Excellent fish and chips cooked fresh, best we have had in ages, will be back, very friendly staff. Guy who served me was very nice and friendly very chatty, he said if it wasn’t right to come back, the guy cooking didn’t just leave the fish to drain he held it up till it stops dripping, very impressive

Offer a service, take your money, wait 30 minutes and then cancel your order as you are “too far away”. Total clowns, not worth your time, I expect the food is bad too, but not had the chance to try it. 3-5 days for my money to be return too, what a joke 😂

Don’t ever go here - it’s just been taken over . Looking forward to eating with my wife - fish and chips and doner in pitta bread and chips . Arrive and when I got home it was just doner meat with a handful of chips . I didn’t think you could ruin a doner but I was wrong - dry dry dry - I had to check I wasn’t eating the box it came in . Wife’s fish also awful . I called and the manager just said they are short staffed …. I think they don’t have anyone who can cook . Such a shame as the previous owners were really good . I’d advise all locals to avoid and go elsewhere for a while as these will not last long .

One of best Pizza I had in recent time, The veg pizza was really amazing and would recommend trying these guys out. They have a great toppings selections too.. Very experienced Chef who delivers yummy Pizza.. I’m planning to repeat my order next week..

Girl serving was friendly enough. Waited around 15 mins for mixed kebab and chips. Chips were nice, crisp and tasty. Kebab was also tasty, chilli sauce had a nice kick to it. Salad was nice and fresh. Little disappointed in portion size, only one piece of chicken and two small bits of lamb cut in half. I've had better deals for same money. Shop did look a little grubby.

Working in the area, I checked the reviews for pizza near me. Just devoured a meat lover pizza. I don’t know what all the bad reviews are about. This was a top tasting pizza. Staff in the shop were very pleasant. Next time I’m in here and fancy a pizza I will make this my first choice.

I wrote a 1* review for this place years ago. When I next tried it, I was asked to remove my review and bribed with free food. As the free food was rubbish, and I’m not a fan of bribery, I never went back and the review remained. Now it’s been quite some time since I visited, so much so that the layout has changed, so I decided it was time to give it another go. So we’ve been in twice this month. Visit 1 The place was empty so only us were in there. I went to the till where we stood without being acknowledged for an excessive amount of time. What appeared to be a manager / owner was having a conversation with a female staff member. The female staff member was leaving but was going on about not being able to do certain shifts, etc whilst getting herself food before she left. It was pointed out that we were there among themselves, but this female stated that it wasn’t busy so she was going regardless. The manager looking guy looked over a few times but still no word to us. Was a bit awkward to listen to the conversation in detail and was unprofessional infront of customers. Eventually we were served. We asked if they wanted cash or card. They said they did both but preferred cash; so cash we paid. The chips were actually quite nice. The sausages were non-edible and went in the bin. A decision was quickly made that we’d maybe give them another go for the chips, but never again would we eat a sausage from there. Visit 2 The place was rammed. So rammed no one knew where to stand. There were people at the back, the front, corners, outside. I joked with another customer regarding the lack of queue organisation. You couldn’t tell at all who had and hadn’t been served and the staff were not keeping anyone informed. Turned out all of the people queuing bar two of us had been served. One told me they waited ages for food to be cooked. The staff did seem to have huge orders piled across the top though; just not going out to anyone. We stood at what appeared to be the front of the queue for quite a while. I did my best to gain eye contact, and did, but no acknowledgment of our existence. Almost looking through us. Reminded me of visit 1 all over again. Just staff looking over, talking among themselves, not caring less about how long the paying customers were waiting for. Eventually a man came over to serve us. No apology for the wait. We only ordered a small chips. The wait was crazy long for such a small order, so definitely won’t be going back in for just a small chips again. Again cash was preferred and paid. No manners used to thank us for the service. I was a little shocked at how overpriced the chips, etc were too. This is not a cheap chip shop, particularly with the poor customer service. Chips again were nice. A standard size (not too small and not too big; exactly the size I would expect for the size ordered). So would I recommend? Well, the chips were nice and ok in size, but no. Unfortunately it fell far too short in customer service on both visits and I certainly wouldn’t order a sausage! There are better chip shops not too far away which I will continue to travel too rather than use this one. However, I’ve increased my review from 1* to 2* thanks to the chips.

UPDATE- had 1 donner and 1 chicken kebab with chips and onion rings tonight and it was spot on, delivered on time, fresh, hot and really well boxed up. Will order again.

It has been 12 months since my last review which was not at all complimentary. Following a 170 mile drive to the marina we were to tired to cook so against our better judgement decided to go to the chippy in Dunchurch, I ordered small sausage and chips twice £7.80 When I got to the marina I opened up the rapping to discover I had two jumbo sausage and chips, the chips were white aand dont think the sausage was fully cooked, neither of us finished the meal. We gone there for the very last time yet again food poor and yet again they got the order wrong as said in previous reviews they have yet to get my oder correct we WILL NOT be going there again

We live in Dunchurch so this chippy is very convenient. But the last Two times we have been there the chips have been terrible like they have been cooked then reheated most likely from the day before, and the fish has had a soggy bottom Not good at all.

Fast friendly service. Could do with a couple of seats for waiting customers.

Ordered one of their delicious pizzas for collection, went in and was greeted by the manager on arrival was friendly banter. Also was surprised to find out we qualified for a free dessert. Result!

I have visited this place a couple of time previously and have come away unsure if I have been charged the correct amount as I am not sure if the menu on the wall included vat in their price list. I handed a note clearly setting out our order. The person serving me put the order into the till, the spoke the amount which I could not understand what they were saying then corrected it as he had realised he had overcharged me When I got back and open the paper the food was rapped in instead of small sausage we had jumbo so I did not get what I ordered but clearly was charged for food I did not ordered, I am not sure if I could go here again because its not the first time I have come away with feeling something was not right

We went to this chippy as a family, each ordering different things, chips, pies, sausages and a grilled kebab. e ordered in advance as it's very popular and it was ready exactly when they said it would be. We were amazed at the size of the portions, a large chips is enough for all of us with some leftover. I had a grilled chicken kebab, this was absolutely enormous and totally delicious - so big i couldn't eat it all and had to give some to my husband.

It was my first order from them. It was good, lovely and fast. I will recommend their foods! Many many thnx!

With a great menu of everything a good Fish & Chip shop could hope to offer, it was hard to choose what to have but I wasn't disappointed with what we had in the end. Will be going again.

Had to wait nearly an hour and a half (even though it stated an hour when ordered) however the food was delicious. We had kebab, pizza, burger and some sides and we all really enjoyed it.

Good fish and chip shop - reasonable price. The shop is very small so it's not possible to eat on site.

Used to be the only decent place to go to, but now prices and service and quality has definitely gone wrong. Have now stopped going as they THINK they have got the best place in the district. But travel into Rugby 2 miles people and find a better one.

New owners tookover chippy over year ago. Great new menu and fab food. Lemon and herb fish is a must and do great daily deals. Can also phone through order before to take the hassle out of queueing. Friendly staff and owner.

We had fish and chips late on Wednesday night ! The cod was the size of a whale and absolutely delicious - the chips were freshly cooked and delicious also. Would definately go back and order food from there again, The proprieter and assistant were soooo friendly and welcoming. Give their food a try, you won't be disappointed! Excellent - Thank you!

Had a kebab from here which was nice but at £6.50 for a large kebab which was not that large I found disappointing. There are other chip shops locally who deliver larger portions which taste great at a far better price. The prices here are quite high...why?

Recently taken over by new management and they are definitely worth a visit. Fish is always succulent and the chips are excellent..

After being let down for a meal, decided to have fish and chips. Walked down to this establishment and was greeted with a friendly welcome. Went for small Fish chips and peas and chicken and chips. All cooked fresh. Great attentive service. Place is as clean as a whistle! Took them back to hotel room and they were absolutely lovely. Recommended!

The new owners have made a really good change here. The food is as you would expect for a chippy but the difference is in the variety of menu and special offers. The staff are very friendly and always remember you from your last visit. Only issue I have is that there is not enough batter on the batter sausages. Double battering would be a good idea.

Someone told me that everything was half price tonight and that since the new management had taken over the food was better. As I had nothing planned I popped in for COD and Chips. The fish was like a whale and I will be eating the rest of the chips until Monday. The batter on the fish was excellent and the fish itself was very tasty. The chips were excellent. Could be a weekly visit from now on. Lots of choice - give it a try!

First visit with new owners in place. What a difference!

Popped in today around 2.30 pm. The new owners were very welcoming and said although they usually close at 2 still took my order. The fish was cooked fresh and was enormous. I had to ask them not to give me the third scoop of chips! And the chips are free on Mondays, when ordered with fish. The fish batter was thin and crisp. They said they had just taken over the shop 2weeks ago. I shall call in again!

Unfortunate enough to attend when the ‘gentleman’ who usually cooks and looks miserable behind the scenes was trying to serve and cook! Disaster!

Used for the first time as our normal chippie is closed for Christmas. Meat pie poor as very dry. The batter on the fish was quite soggy ( all 3 pieces) wouldn’t recommend

Went in this afternoon to grab lunch.A nice lady before me hard of hearing couldn’t understand the mumbling Asian owner ? with spit around his mouth! not nice. She asked for a small fish, he mumbled something I couldn’t even hear him myself. He left the lady and disappeared, and an angry lady with foreign accent storms up, talks at the lady and sells her a large fish instead of listening to her original order of a small fish! or have the decency to query her order.

The food is alright. Not the best fish and chips, not the worst. It'll do for a quick dinner! Staff are similar, not friendly, but inoffensive.

Hemos empezado a usar Dunchurch chippy de nuevo, ya que se apagó. En el último pescado sin piel, gran cod felicidades al equipo. Todo lo que necesita hacer ahora es cocinar las patatas fritas en aceite caliente y ellos fresco y tienes agrietado.

Always freshly cooked for you, always piping hot, a friendly owner and her staff all adds to making this a special place. i have never had anything greasy or untasty and the fish is so fresh it tastes as though it was swimming about kjust hours before. the sausages are tasty and their chips are extra special, nice and thick.I drive 8 miles from Daventry to go here and its always hot by the time I get home.

Comida - patatas fritas parecen bonitas pero no gusto. Tenían algún tipo de extraño casi plástico como exterior. Pasta de pescado es pasada y sólo el centro del pescado era comestible. Se supone que estoy en una dieta por lo que me ayudó. Salchichas y empanadas aspecto agradable sin embargo.

After waiting ages for my order without complaining (no queue, just no fish or chips were cooked), I made the mistake of querying the difference in quantity of chips per portion. Id ordered 2 different sizes but they looked similar when wrapped separately, so i asked if they were the same (thinking she may have accidentally done me 2 of the same size as she'd already repeated my order back to me incorrectly). Initially i was told they were nowhere near the same size (obviously i didn't go to Specsavers - see photo) which i disputed, suggesting there was possibly an insignificant difference to warrant the difference in price of the 2. I was then told the problem was actually that the cone of chips id been given was a lot bigger than she'd normally give & she'd actually given me too many chips. I then suggested that anything smaller than these 2 portions would be ridiculous (left is a standard regular bag & on the right is the cone). The lady took offence so it turned into a bit of a spontaneous debate with her unwrapping & then putting a couple of chips in another bag to show the small amount she said she'd normally give (6 chips in a cone apparently), then chucking them back in the fryer & telling me i needed to go to Macdonalds to see how good her chip portions really were. Id had previous bad experience a year prior (not this bad though!) & this was my open-minded return & 3rd ever visit. Chips are nicer elsewhere too. Won't be back again. Definitely would not recommend! Apparently i am the first person in 30 years to complain about this chip shop & that people come from far & wide especially to them so i am just a 'difficult customer' so you may wish to try for yourself

Having spent 7 years in the village I have to say that the quality of the fish and chips varies visit to visit. Generally though the fish batter quality is poor/average. Often 'soggy' inside. Chips are OK .... but again sometimes tasteless ( guess that's due to the potatoes used). If you eat early in the evening you will get reheated chips left over from lunchtime and they are YUCK!!Kebabs are OK. Fairly generous portions and tasty. They also serve fish cakes (taste like cardboard), sausages (battered or plain), frankfurters, potatoes scallops, chicken portions and pies. I often go to Hilmorton or Bilton if not in a hurry even if it means driving!

I had fish and chips and the batter was beautiful and crispy, the chips also crispy and fluffy on the inside. Service was excellent as always thanks to Maria.

Went to one of the local hostelries and was served a very poor fish and chips .after sending most of it back I was still hungry. Had a lovely chicken kebab from here accompanied by a few chips thrown in for free.

Situated near the central car park of Dunchurch.A clean and very well presented waiting area.The portions are superb both Fish and Chips and also the Kebab selection.Also on offer is the usual Pies, Sausages.Roe and Fishcakes.I have used this venue for 7+ years.

I called to enquire about the dietary information due to an allergy (gluten free). The member of staff shouted at me and then hung up on me. I called back and he did the same, shouting at me asking what gluten is and again hung up on me. If the staff don't know what a big allergy like gluten is then how can they be trusted with food?

Haven't been there for several years - we moved 5 miles away - but my wife does chin exercises - all moving them up and down at the same time! - every week and they regularly buy fish and chips here and rate it very highly.

After a day fishing and fresh air we decided to call in for fish and chips. After spotting the kebabs logic went out the window and a large kebab and chips was ordered with all the trimmings chilli sauce etc. My friend had the fish and chips which he said was 100% my kebab was 110% one of the best i have had in every way. The person who served us was polite the place was clean and the service very good. Will use again on our next fishing trip.

We live local, Occasionally the fish has been soggy, the chips are excellent & Kebabs are okay! The place is kept very clean & service is good.

I had chips from here quite a while ago, and they were very greasy and floppy. I did not go again for months. I then helped with some volunteering work, which ended with a visit to the chip shop, and buying around 30 cones of chips for the children involved with the volunteering work.I was very impressed this time, the chips were crispy on the outside and very fluffy on the inside, and were very chunky. I have since visited again, and again the chips were consistent. Tonight I will be buying fish and chips for the whole family. Well done Dunchurch Fish Bar on improving your chips.

My preferred chippy, good chips excellent fish although best to ask for a freshly cooked one....kebabs also nice.

I am writing this review, not something I normally do for fish and chip shops, because I disagree with previous reviews. We have used this shop, perhaps once every couple of months, for years and have always found the fish to be fresh (ie does not smell) and the chips tasty and generous in portion. The kebabs are popular though not something I have very often. It is a well used chippy and as good as any other I have tried in the rugby area- and better than many.

Great fish but the chips are plain soggy. They need to be left to fry for longer. Kebabs are ok but not as good as those from across the road

Did not enjoy fish and chips at all. Soggy and not very warm, didn't like the taste don't know what they were fried in but not to my taste.
