Duffield Balti House in Amber Valley

Ordered a chips and pizza and the staff were really friendly and tried theor hardest to make the food fresh and quickly highly recommend!!!

I saw the bad reviews but decided to try here anyway, and I was pleasantly surprised! Paneer starter was delicious, my main of vegetable biryani and naan also very nice. A few more chickpeas in the biryani would improve it, as well as a few more aromatics in the biryani curry sauce would improve it, but it is tasty as it is and better than other takeaways I've tried. Polite delivery as well. We will be returning, thank you!

Great kebabs delivered on time. It was very easy to order online directly from their own website. Will definitely use again.

Firstly the experience was a car crash before the food was even served. The service was appalling with the member of staff taking the wrong order then trying to shift the blame. The wait time was over 30 minutes after ordering in store and when the food was ready it was cold and the quality was that shambolic I wouldn’t even feed it to my dog! The quality has gone down hill since the new ownership and I will definitely not be returning!

Cold food TWICE and no offer of a refund. Disgusting service. 2 hours on a Sunday night to get a quick bite of food and cost an appalling 18quid.

Not for the first time (but definitely the last), order was completely wrong. Accidents happen, but then they made two massive customer service sins... 1. Claimed that the customer had got it wrong: they pointed at the ticket that a member of staff (who had since left for the day since taking my order) had filled out and handed to the kitchen. It was wrong but I was the one who was accused of ordering the wrong thing. 2. Did not take any responsibility and threw the staff member under the bus: “It’s not our fault, it was the guy who had left. So don’t complain to us”. Erm...it is your business!! I am the customer! I don’t care who it is, please just apologise and fix the order. They then proceeded to argue for 5 minutes without accepting any responsibility or apologising, and then wondered why I was miffed. I gave up, asked for a refund, and confirmed that this would be the last time I come there (Sad, as I WAS a Weekly customer). This is the last straw. I’ve always being willing to be fine with their errors but the arrogant and argumentative approach to this issue is too much. They don’t deserve the custom.

Great tasting food, plenty of meat in the Currie's. Would have given top marks if the food was warmer.

Food was lovely but the service was very poor. 30 minutes after the delivery time we finally had a call from the delivery driver to tell me he was lost and we had to go to the restaurant to collect the food. Very unhappy.

Sorry to have to complain but Really disappointed this time, always had a good service from here previously but arrived stone cold tonight. Meal was ruined. Couldn't reheat fries or kebab they went in the bin so it was a Waste of money. Had to reheat pizza. It was that cold the cheese on it had set. I just want to provide feedback so maybe you can get a heat protection bag for delivery to avoid this happening again. Its a shame as we really enjoy your food usually.

Worst takeaway I've ever had , chicken burger as said by another reviewer I've just read can only be described as rubber was disgusting I took one bite and threw away , shish kebab was cold and appalling I get I ordered a small but there was 6 tiny pieces of shish in it , only thing I ate was chips , will never order from here again . It was on time however and driver seemed pleasant

Ordered £29 worth of food my donor kebab should of been on pitta as on website came in a cold nann with anaemic looking un cooked meat pizza freezing cold and so we re the chips contacting them to send a replacement still nothing rang and hadnt left requested money to be posted back as per pictures having toast and marmalade for my tea not good waste of money

RAW CHICKEN!!!! - Hadn't used them for a while despite being only a few hundred yards from our house and now I know why. Called at 5.40pm for a 7pm collection but upon arrival they had not even started the order. They rushed it through in 15 minutes and then when home and tucking into our food we discovered raw chicken (see pic) - I will not be visiting again!!!.

Missing parts of order. And then they sent replacements out that were so spicy you couldn’t eat them. Not mention of it being spicy meaning it was inedible anyway and all a waste of time and money. Very disappointed

Really excellent food! However, it was late by an hour (which i didnt mind as its friday.) I’d rather they give honest delivery times than something that is too ambitious and that ends in disappointment.

You don't know until you try it..Tried it won't again.. chicken had a fishy undertone and the missis is a chef so she knows what she's on about.

Mushroom Pakora for starter was lovely however the mixed kebab had bones in. Chicken Tikka wrap was nice, made it a meal so came with chips and a can of pop. The chicken wings were nice but the ‘medium’ sauce was far from medium, it was extremely hot. Ordered 2x chocolate milkshakes but received 2x banana. Asked for the delivery to be made at 18:10pm but was delivered at 7pm.

Food is always delicious from here, it’s become our regular takeaway 😀😋😋

First time we have used this takeaway and it will be the first of many. Food was absolutely delicious, piping hot and delivered on time.

Have used Duffield Balti for many years, particularly enjoyed the saag paneer. Had an order delivered that was completely different from the usual saag paneer and inedible. Tasted sour, hard and off. The chips were pale, barely cooked. The pizza was very poor. We phoned to complain and were given an apology and a promise of a replacement, when required. As the order was a Monday, and we assumed the usual staff may not have been working, and the fact we had enjoyed many good meals over years, we decided to accept this. Duffield Balti rescinded on this and have expected some payment. Extremely poor customer service. Will not use ever again and advise others to be wary too

Over all very nice food but was missing a item that I ordered which was disappointing

I've used this takeaway for many years and the food has usually been very good and excellent value. Unfortunately about 50% of the time the order delivered is incorrect (usually items missing) which can easily take over an hour to sort out. My order last night also had rice and pickles for the poppadoms missing but the worst thing was the Chicken Achari which was almost inedible due to there being far too much salt in the sauce. Perhaps there has been a change of ownership but the quality has taken a nosedive. Won't be using again.

We had to wait ninety minutes for the delivery but it was worth It when it arrived. Butter chicken and chicken jalfresi were particularly good

Had a take out last night from here.. bit of a wait but food was excellent.. no complaints. Very satisfied with my king prawn balti with extra garlic.

Cold samosas in the middle. Not a lot of meat and it was tough to chew. Customer service was awful. Rude.

Delivery time was listed as 35-50 minutes but when we placed the order it was accepted for an hour and 20 minutes time. The food arrived but was awful. The naan bread was so hard it was inedible. The pepperoni pizza had no pepperoni on it only cheese and the chips were stale and old. I would not order from here again

We live in duffield, they put an hour and ten mins from order and was 20 mins after that time. It's a shame, food is nice but they have been late every time we have ordered.

Everything fine apart from no option to add salad and sauce to donner and chips on just eat. I requested this on the notes section however it was still missing the salad ☹️ food was lovely though.

Everything was cold ,rice was solid and not edible at all .nan bread was like a cornflake dry and solid ,burger was like rubber, my curry was,lovely once I reheated it and the pudding was very good as well ,delivery driver was fantastic

Decided to have a midweek takeaway with my son. Arrived 30 minutes later than estimated. My Chicken was overcooked and the sauce was very salty. The poppadoms were soft and tasted awful! My meal was £11.50 so I expected better.

Tried this place a while ago and was not impressed, but son wanted a takeaway so thought would give it a go again. Saturday night so ordered around 7pm, no food until 940. So late we left it until following day, and the food was ok when we ate it. However won't be going again, there are plenty of other just eat places to choose from. Having ordered through Just Eats, this may be a reflection on their ability to check the eateries they endorse and promote, so may be well avoided also.

Had takeaway from Duffield Balti last night ordering through the app. Took 2 hours to arrive with me having to call the shop twice. First was told it would be another 15 mins then when I called 45 mins later was told it was on it's way. Unfortunately it wasn't worth waiting for. Chips were limp and soggy. Indian starter was mostly onion with the odd bit of coriander thrown in but was pretty much tasteless. The chicken tikka was squeaky like it had been microwaved. Very disappointed. Have had a bad run with food from here and have given it another chance but it wasn't good. Kebab I had previously was average and lots of onion in the salad despite asking in the notes for no onion. A curry previously was oily and tasteless.

We have had many take always over the years and some very big orders when family gatherings 16 plus but the last few orders have been very disappointing won't be ordering again not sure if they have new owners or chefs

We have been having very good takeaways from duffield balti for many years and have always been more than satisfied with their food , however the past 6 months have been very disappointing. When ordering the wait has been incredibly long ( ie well over an hour ) and the food especially KEBABS have been stone cold , having had to put in the oven ! , defeating having a takeaway !! . Also things missing off order .

Spot on - arrived bang on time, piping hot, and of course tasted lovely, a real treat for my son back from Uni for the weekend. 🤗

Best bit was the rice the lamb was perfect but the Bhuna sauce was swimming in oil floppy chewy popadoms and masala had exploded in the bag

Great food (30 mins earlier than they had emailed to say - why?), but didn't get the "buy one nan and get a second for 20p" in spite of paying the 20p. Minor prob financially, but it did leave us one nan short.

The last time we ordered from here the order was wrong, missing items that they would not refund, this time it took an hour and 45 mins to deliver. The food is cold. Disgraceful service. I will never order from you again, and I shall make sure my friends don't either.

Best Indian takeaway in duffield.lovely chicken breast meat and all tastes super fresh.Nan breads are lovely and soft.The sell a wide range of foods from curry burgers kebabs and pizza.Order on Mondays and buy one curry get one free.

Duffield balti is a fantastic takeaway but i just wish they would read the notes at the bottom. I put no onions and I still got onions. This isn't the 1st time either.

Recientemente visité Duffield para conseguir buena Balti para noche de pizza familiar, sólo para que nos dijeran que no hay grandes pizzas (12"). Esto me hace pensar es que realmente fresca producida? De todos modos me decidí por la opción más pequeña. La comida era realmente buena y apreciado por todos. Sólo la pequeña decepción con la disponibilidad que lo bajan.

I ordered a lamb madras but there was no rice with it!!! What use is that!!

ordered onion baji got samosa ! ordered at 7.45 arrived at 9.20 and curry very watery normally very good but tonight was awful won't be using again .

Good food and the service was brilliant the order arrived 25 minutes early.

Order was over 30mins late, which was another 25mins additional to the time quoted by Just Eat. Pizza was not as requested. The previous order had a drink missing.

We have been ordering from here for a long time and the food has always been good, but recently we have had some problems, twice now we have had items missing from our order, and they refuse a refund, and on one occasion we received burned food that was also cold. I'm hoping their usual service will resume soon or we will be finding another place to order from.

Food Quality was good. Order slightly late but wasn't too much of an issue. Our Diet Coke with the Curry Deal for 2 was not delivered though

They told us it would be an hour for our food to be delivered but in the end we ended up waiting 80 minuets and picked it up ourselves to avoid waiting any longer. Apparently they were waiting for their delivery man to return. Food was tasty but a little cold after waiting so long.

Unfortunately chips were hard and stale. The garlic bread just tasted like bread, there was no garlic.

Some veg in the curry would have been nice. Was just sauce and some meat. A bit of colour and crunch would habe been an improvement.

Disappointed this time, food was dripping in grease, and at least 2 meals didn't taste right. 2 items were not delivered yet no offer to bring them.. empty bellies and empty purses.. ☹️

We've ordered twice within the past few weeks and both times haven't had the correct amount of naan breads delivered. Ordered last night and the food had Been squashed in the hold-all of the driver and there was grease all over the bottom of the bag. When I opened the package the grease was everywhere and had leaked. And the poppadums were in a million pieces. After receiving a call I was told to recheck what I ordered and I'm still adamant I ordered 3 naan breads both times and only received two. Wasn't overally happy about this!

Never, ever on time & then when you call them they lie about how long it will take. Food is always good but so unreliable that we won't be using again. 4/5 deliveries all too late. Shame

My food was over an hour late. I'm actually disappointed because Balti is ususally amazing with the delivery times.

Disappointed it took over 1 hour from ordering, then arrived 15 minutes late.

Absolutely woeful!! Will not be ordering from there ever again!! We ordered the set meal for 2- took 2 hours to be delivered. I attempted to call the restaurant 10 times over the course of an hour and the phone line was engaged. At 730pm on a Saturday night, is completely unacceptable. When the food did arrive there were no poppadoms and the incorrect drink order. Very very poor!!!
