Normally a wonderful experience but this time we found some tin foil in one of the dishes which the waiter just dismissed as something that happens and refused to deduct it from the bill. I don’t expect to have to eat contaminated food

My family and I were delighted with the take away meal that we ordered from the Elaichi the Saturday of the Easter weekend. The variety of dishes both vegetable and fish was superb and excellently prepared. The food was delivered at the time requested, hot and well presented. It made our family gathering a great success, with young children asleep upstairs! Well done Elaichi, I would happily recommend this restaurant to both friends and family.

An excellent meal for two at Elaichi. Really tasty and fresh ingredients. Friendly attentive service. Everything was perfect from the poppadoms through to the main course! Recommended.

What a lovely restaurant with friendly attentive staff. The food was delicious and very tasty. I tried one of the Bangladeshi specials which was delightful. We were on holiday in the area and it was an excellent find. If we lived Locally we would eat there regularly. If we're ever in the area again we will definitely be back and highly recommend it.

Just staying local for a long weekend and fancied a takeaway, found them on goggle maps and was blown away by the food and service. Was one of the best takeaways I have had. Food was ready on time and was fabulous. If we come back will eat in next time to get the full Atmosphere.

I have to rate this place 5 stars, dined here last night, we were welcomed by a friendly front of house staff - Kawsor, he continued to look after us the whole night and had a few laughs. The atmosphere was great. Nice mix of locals and it was quite busy as it was a Friday night. FOOD! This blew us away, the papadums were fresh and crispy, and all the salads were too. I had one too many, on to the starters .. we all opted for the king prawn puri, this was cooked well, chef knew what he was doing, the puri was light and curry was delicious. The main was the stand out dish it was a lamb Achari . This had that authentic taste and took me back to my travels in india, the lamb was tender and cooked well, we all wiped out plates clean and were fully satisfied. We didn’t have space for dessert but they had a good selection of traditional favourites like kulfi etc, maybe next time we’ll order less, Overall, feel like we got value for money, had a good night out with lads, we got looked after by the nice staff, and will be back next time we are in Belper! Awesome.. that's all you need to know!

Been going to The Elaichi for many years, recently moved back to the area and have been twice in the past few weeks. Kowser always goes out of his way to look after us, a genuinely nice guy. The food has always been, and still is fantastic. 10/10

Visited recently for dinner. I ordered vegetable biryani but it was somewhat disappointing, the portion was a massive dish of rice with a very small portion of vegetable curry. The rice was very dry and overcooked, so sticky, not individual grains that I would expect. The curry was very tasty though. The waiter advised us to order a naan bread which we did - way too much carbs, couldn't finish it. We ordered a couple of poppadoms each as a starter and the price was shown on the menu as a price per poppadom, but the price for the accompanying pickle tray was several pounds which was definitely not listed on the menu. It wasn't a rip off but I would prefer they were 100% transparent with pricing. Staff were attentive, restaurant is clean and well lit. Have been lots of times in the past and food was better, but maybe I just made the wrong choice this time.

Ordered a takeaway for 10 and food was ready on the dot as well as being great quality. Service was friendly and I would definitely recommend to others. Great idea to give 15% for cash which on large orders gives great value for money.

This is a lovely restaurant, run by a great guy, Kam who is very attentive and efficient as are the rest of the staff. The food is absolutely delicious and if you want to have an Indian style bbq, they do an amazing and good value Elachi BBQ pack, you just need to give them a couple of days notice.

I would preferred a more strong and definitive flavour to the main dish I ordered as it didn't taste much of anything but just a curry. The starter dish was over cooked .I didn't like the chairs for the customers . They are massive big heavy dark ones and not very well placed at tables in such a setting. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful but slightly pushy. Nonetheless it was a comfortable experience but I'm not sure I have enough confidence to return to commercial taste cuisine . I didn't appreciate the tip for my dish but I accept it but I should have stuck to my instinct .

great Indian restaurant in Belper, on two floors with a good looking authentic interior decor. Food as well as an amazing choice still maintains its quality and genuine eastern taste. Close to Belper centre and on various bus routes. Well recommended restaurants and will be back again soon x

First time eating here with family, quiet tasty food and very quick attentive service. My only fault Purley visual, is that the starters and desserts come out on massive plates when there is only a small something on there. It would be alot better if they came out on small plates or bowls I think the decorations and presentation gets a little lost on such a Big plate. Apart from that it was spot on tasty food ! 😋

Best Bangladeshi restaurant for miles

An absolute gem, one of the best curries we have had. Very reasonable too. Walked in and ordered a takeaway, ten minutes later on the way home. Brilliant just how it should be.

Probably the best curry house in Belper. The food is so full of flavour. We always share our mains so have a mix of mild and creamy (my go to is the chicken tikka masala which yes although standard; Elachi's is the best) and then spicy/savoury, last night we tried the Lamb Roshuni, which was fantastic, soo tasy and the lamb was perfectly cooked and tender. We always have Kam as our waiter and he does everything to make sure you have a great experience. Very knowledgeable on the menu he's great if you aren't sure, or want to try something new just tell him some of your preferences and he'll always give the best recommendations. So, great food, great service and clean and comfortable setting its a must.

Delicious food, lovely dining room, great service and as much shredded raw onion as we wanted! :) Came here last week with my sister and my dad (we were visiting from London) and we had never been before. We were greeted warmly, impressed with the menu choices (especially for us veggies!) though dads chicken was very succulent apparently. Great prices and the dining room with the windows letting in lots of light made for a great atmosphere. We will be back!!

Really good food - between us we had a mix of fish, gluten free and vegetarian dishes. The menu had a variety of curry house standards as well as their own specialities.

Absolutely fantastic!! I rarely leave reviews but I had to share our experience. Firstly, we were shown to our table straight away, the restaurant was spotless, the decor was lovely. Our waiter (Kam) was so professional and personable, we felt we were being looked after by a friend although this was actually our first visit.(it won’t be the last!) We didn’t have to wait for anything, drinks, popadoms, mains, top-ups, the bill. Each course was cleared away efficiently (so we weren’t sat staring at empty plates) The food was outstanding, my partner had lamb khari and the lamb fell apart! The sauce was flavoursome and the naan bread was hot and fluffy. I had chicken tikka masala and this was delicious! The rice and chips were perfect and piping hot. We both had deserts, (hot chocolate cake and ice-cream) We had 2 bottles of appletize and 2 large glasses of wine and we paid just £70 for all of this!! Best Indian restaurant we have been to! Thank you so much! Just wish we lived nearer but happy to travel over from south Derbyshire. See you soon!! Ps car parking is just opposite the restaurant and cost us £1.50 for the whole night.

Absolutely fantastic place to go, all the staff are super friendly, courteous and helpful especially Kam. Unfortunately I am disabled and the restaurant is on the 2nd floor, which I couldn't manage, Kam had no problems arranging for us to eat on the ground floor, organising a table and chairs to be brought down. The array of different dishes is excellent but do state if you don't want something too spicy. They offer vegetarian options too. We went for a special meal and were made to feel very comfortable and happy. Unfortunately I ordered a chicken dupiarza (not sure of spelling) which I love but ended up being a chicken tikka dupiarza which I found a bit too spicy for my taste, along with a peswari naan and pilau rice which were all excellent. My son ordered a lamb shank meal which came with 2, literally falling off the bone, vegetables, pilau rice and a basic naan. When you arrive you are offered drinks and not wanting to ruin our meal didn't want a starter got given poppadoms with various dips, which were very nice. The whole experience was fantastic and we really enjoyed ourselves. They offer top class, heartfelt follow through making sure you are enjoying your time and are happy, they also offer take away but I'm not sure about delivery, it's spotlessly clean,thank you and top marks elaichi

We had an amazing meal here. Staff were very welcoming and attentive and food was delicious. They were great with my son who wasn’t sure if he’d like the food, they suggested a half and half meal, chicken nuggets and chips (so he wouldn’t go hungry) with a small side of a korma. We’ll definitely be back!

Tried for the 1st & must say best food & service & very friendly. I googled best Indian restaurants in Derbyshire and can say Elaichi deserves its high star rating. The food was amazing and the nan breads were the best I've ever had. Highly recommend & look forward to next time.

I am a bit picky about food - my partner doesn’t like going out for food with me because I will complain if it’s not good. Had a lamb Karahi again from here and this has been the best yet! Absolutely delicious! Lamb was full of flavour and lovely and tender and the sauce wow and the mushroom rice wow!! Had to leave a review straight away just to stop myself overeating. I think the best Indian I’ve ever had!

There was a loud group of guys near us with a lot of swearing that was mildly off putting but that isn't the restaurants fault. Highly recommended as a great place to dine in Belper!

Excellent service and very good food at reasonable prices. The gentle incense and light music makes it a relaxing environment to catch up with family and friends. Very lovely for manager to make lassi despite it not being on menu. It was delicious.

Good Bangladeshi food cooked fresh using quality ingredients. Some unusual specials on menu. Friendly staff in a nice low-key contemporary setting. Would rate 5 stars if their pricing was more transparent - menu items are ex-VAT so bill inevitably comes to more than expected. This isn't illegal but is highly irregular in food service settings, and thus confusing.
