D's in Larne

I would highly recommend D’s it's a fantastic chippy and more food excellent service first class and they now do the most amazing pizzas they are phenomenal.

Paid for order and said will collect 45mins later. Order wasn't ready (dont know if it got lost as it was so busy) and waited another 20mins. Staff apologised and were lovely. OMG food was delicious 😋!!! Gluten free meals yummy and fish supper yummy. Best chips ever !!! We will spread the word around caravan park . 👏 👏 👏.

Had a wee trip to Larne on an errand last week from Newtownabbey and took the chance to try this wee chippy. Absolutely outstanding. One of the best fish I’ve had in a few years. As it was only at lunch time I didn’t get a bigger order. But the complementary chips that came with it were delicious as well. Very reasonably priced and will definitely be back. Highly recommended. And the staff were very friendly and pleasant. Top spot A+

Best place to get a chippy hands down! Food is amazing! I've never had a bad experience with the food. The food is massive! Fish the size of the box and goujons the size of a hand. The staff are always full of energy and the owners are the most lovely people 10/10 every time

Firstly gave us out off date menu with wrong pricing then out came the food on a tiny side plate they then couldn’t find a bigger although another table had there food on normal plates??? We weren’t given even cutlery to attempt to eat this, the worst bit was the battered sausages were burnt to a complete crisp and were impossible to actually eat then when mentioned it to server was told they have to probe all there food 🤦🏻‍♂️. In 40 years never had as bad a chippy, like come on it’s only sausages.

Called in this evening and decided to go for the southern fried boneless thigh box which is clearly advertised at £5. The lady at the till ask for £6 , the owner came over and explained that it’s £6 and the advertised price is wrong as the price has went up because of brexit? And basically it was £6! It goes by the price on the till ? As a customer I believe I should have been given the item for £5 as advertised as you can see from my picture. If I went into tescos and something was priced wrong I think they would legally have to give me the price as advertised! Food was very salty

Best chip shop in Larne the fish is fantastic, lovely chips and the biggest and best onion rings ever can’t fault it. Service also great.

Chicken was inedible even my dogs wouldn’t eat it . The chicken was overcooked , dry with burnt smell had to throw it out . The chips were edible but were very expensive when it was the only part of the meal I could eat . I also had to wait half an hour to get the food. I will definitely not be buying any further food out of this takeaway ! Never again . It has been the worse takeaway I have ever had !

The food was good and I don’t really have anything to say about apart from I was sitting in and when I got my food (which took a long time to get, ≈35 mins) it was quite cold. Like if it was hot ages ago and you waited 15 mins to eat it! Total rating: 4/5

The restaurant is clean and friendly, but very slow. 45 mins wait for a pastie supper and a portion of onion rings..(no queue)..The pastie was a burger wrapped in a half inch of batter and the onion rings were soggy.(not good)...chips were great though.

I can't say I am overly impressed. Shown in the picture 8 took is a hawaiian, upon ordering it before I was disappointed in the lack of sauce, this time I requested plenty and despite being more than receiving previously I still think it could be improved considering I have seen the amount of sauce they put onto their sliced chicken supper meal.

Got to be the best in Larne. Service is absolutely fantastic and they cook your food exactly as you ask them to cook it. Nothing is too much trouble for them.

What a joke it definitely isn't fast food waited 45 minutes for a chicken and chips and chicken was over cooked chucked whole lot in the bin I will never buy anything out of this bump again plus staff were extremely rude and unhelpful if you want to eat somewhere else the square chippy is far nicer and dont have to wait 45 minutes eather I hated even giving this dump 1 star

A few of us called here after checking out the trip advisor reviews. A top chip shop. Friendly staff and clean. Fish was fresh and very tasty. Large portions of chips. Mates had chicken wraps which they said were also excellent. Sit in also available.

Went here last Saturday afternoon I had the fish n chip supper to eat in with the family, which was a bargain. Really nice too, well happy. It does what it says on the tin, it is a chippy diner and you get just that. No frills, just good honest food! Keep up the good work, us English will be back soon ;-)

Excellent food. Does some great chicken southern fried, spicy and off the bone! Always seems to be trying something new but if you go, you have to try a battered stuffed sausage and smokey sauce 👍. Great service from all the staff aswell highly recommended.

My order was completed quite fast but while i was waiting i noticed the premises were quite dirty. Sadly the food was not the best quality and was quite greasy.

A little slower than your average chippy but worth the wait, the new owners deliver fresh warm food in clean premises and very tasty. Will use more often in future

Tbh i don't like chippy food. We needed to get a quick bite to eat went to a sandwich bar to find it shut on bank holiday. We ordered sausage super and chicken cojoun meal. The first thing we noticed when we entered this establishment was that it didnt have that awful smell that a lot of chips shops do. The chips were dry and did not leave that greasy flim . Chicken batter was crispy and dry i really dislike batter but this had a great taste. Lovely service. We are not local but would certainly call in if in the area.

Omg, never had a nicer takeaway. Ds boneless chicken box & gravy was amazing, would feed 2 people. Friendly staff, clean diner. Definitely a place to go and sit and enjoy good fresh food. Sit in or takeaway. Renovations taking place to the front of the shop but that doesn't effect customers.

There's quite a few better chip shops around Larne, so I wouldn't usually visit here. On the few occassions I have, the food has been cold or has way too much salt or took forever to be made, even if it wasn't busy. You can sit in here which is cool but there are other chip shops in Larne where you can also sit in and have better quality food. I wouldn't rush back here.

Called here after collecting my grandchildren from school it was a cold day so i decided to buy some chips to take home and make butties. I ordered the chips and was ask about salt and vinegar i explained they were for kids and that i just wanted a little salt when i got the chips home we couldnt eat most of them as they were white with salt and i mean white it looked like snow we got a few chips from bottom of tray and the rest went in the bin . I wont be back it was a simple order and they got it badly wrong .

I had heard good things about this café however I found it cold, so cold I would not have wanted to sit down to eat. I had gone in to purchase 1 regular chip take out, it took over 30 mins and the chips were just average. They were busy but the fault was not the staff but the lack of staff. The young girl who served me was literally running between jobs. Good managers anticipate periods when more man or in this case more woman hours are needed.
