My friend Margaret and I really enjoyed our lunch here yesterday. We had steak and mushroom pie with potatoes and mushy peas which was delicious. The waitress was friendly, and when I asked for brown sauce, she said it was H.P,which is ‘the best’. We were so full we couldn’t manage dessert, but maybe next time. Whilst we were there we booked in for a Christmas lunch, and we were very lucky to get in as they only had a few places left.Looking forward to coming again soon. We love it here.Staff are all very friendly, even when I get Lorraine’s name wrong!!She now wears a name badge, so no excuses.

A Walk from Hebden Bridge over the moors heading for howarth. We came across Drop Farm.Only wish we had found this place sooner. My friends and I sat outside because we had dogs with us.Plus I think we would have struggled to sit inside even if we hadn't.Advisable to book in advance. The place was packed. The food was simple home cooked food .With a super choice of traditional puddings, like your Gran would make...So the saying goes!My friend had a huge plate of delicious sausage ,mash ,carrots and cauliflower.I had a humongous meat and potatoe pie and veg.My other friends chosen dish was a more healthy option.Jacket potato and salad. All with pots of tea.Followed by warm scones cream and jam. The prices are unbelievable ,it's so cheap for the quality of the food and the amount you get.The staff are so friendly and helpful.I can not wait to return with my mum shortly. Be aware however.Drop Farm is only open Wed,Thurs and Friday lunch times.12 till 3.30 i think. However they do do outside catering.

We visited Drop Farm for lunch on the recommendation of my daughter's friend, whose mother had been before. We found the staff very pleasant, friendly and helpful and the food delicious. The only thing I found that perhaps needed improvement was the children's 'play area' which, frankly, wasn't usable, but that was no problem to us as our 2 year old was more interested in seeing the alpacas in an adjacent field. We will certainly go again. Please note their opening times are 12 - 3pm, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

First visit to this little gem. Seems like everyone else but me knew about it, as the tables were mostly reserved, this was 12 noon! We were found a fable by a smiling waitress and then the most delicious meal was served without frills but with fresh food and friendly service. Large choice of starters, mains and puddings, all at a reasonable price. Will be back very often.

We were not sure what we would find here. We were advised that it was just good wholesome farmhouse cooking, nothing fancy. What a surprise. There was on the day roast silverside of beef, roast gammon, meat and potato pie, salmon. These came with potato, cauliflower, carrots and peas. There were starters such as melon, prawn cocktail, carrot and orange soup. Sweets were most of the old favourites, sponge with various toppings, apple or gooseberry pie, trifle, cheesecake or ice cream and several more. There were also several salads, sandwiches, plain or toasted, fresh fruit. Unlicensed there were cold drinks, tea and coffee. Prices are unbelievable in this day and age. Four of us had three courses and the bill was £10 per head. Only open Wednesday to Friday 12 til 3pm. Marvellous views over Yorkshire moorland. You couldn't ask for much more.

Tucked away off a B road is Drop Farm Tea Rooms, it serves great tasting food in a lovely peaceful setting. It's run by a family team who made us very welcome and we're attentive without being a nuisance. Even though it was nearing 3pm we weren't hurried out the door. Definitely going again even though it's quite a long way for us, but we think it's worth it! Although nothing on the menu was listed as being a gluten free option the staff were very helpful in suggesting things to try. They coped OK but it would be great to see some gluten free options on the menus :-) Very relaxing lunch.

Just visited this quaint Tea Room after 7 years of living in the village and have to say I was disappointed, disappointed that it has taken me 7 years to eat there. The homemade food is first class, not the frozen rubbish that is served at some eateries in the village, staff are very polite, decor second to none at a price that is more than reasonable. Needless to say that I will be visiting much more in the future.

I was told about this wonderful café by our holiday landlady, who'd come across it when walking on the moors near Haworth, so I decided to try it when I was walking in the area. They offer a good range of snacks, & also full meals. The hours open are Wed., Thurs. & Fridays, 12 noon to 3pm - wish they were open more! My welcome was warm & friendly & I was served at table. I had the homemade mushroom soup, which came with 2 lovely rolls & plenty of butter (nicely soft), & was delicious - as good as I've had in restaurants for twice the price. There was a good range of hot & cold drinks; I opted for sparkling water which was an excellent price, nice & cold & a good size. The hot meals also looked tempting, & some customers who were leaving as I arrived said the food was beautiful. They also do half portions for smaller appetites/children.They are a little way out of Haworth, so getting there involves a bit of a walk/drive, but definitely worth it! They are also very well located for anyone walking on the Bronte moors, as I was; one of their lovely snacks/meals sets you up perfectly for a good walk! Highly recommended!

It is at least 2 years since we last visited, but it could been yesterday! just the same as on previous visit, quite a good sign,We had checked the web site, open Wed,Thur and Fri 12.00 to 3pm.When we arrived we were pleased to see only a few cars on the car park,it was always full when we last visited. However when we got to the door a notice stated last orders 1pm,quick glance showed it was exactly 1pm,my husband went in and asked if we were too late,no problem, warm friendly welcome and shown to a tableThere is a menu on the table, also a chalk board with additional information and a separate sweet menu,we both selected braised steak and onion, new potatoes carrots and garden peas,we opted for a full portion, but half portions are available,The food arrived promptly complete with a Yorkshire pudding, and it is good homecooked food, plain but excellent, the steak so tender melts in your mouth, sweet garden peas, fresh carrots, and tasty new potatoes. We were also provided with a gravey boat full of rich onion gravey. We had a pot of tea for two, served in a generous size teapot and large jug hot water,Although tempted by the array of sweets on offer including bilberry pie,I had eaten more than enough with full main course, and deceided that on my next visit I will have half portion main course and then can manage sweet or starter. We learnt that the early closure was because the rooms were booked for a funeral buffet, but this did not alter the friendly service to we last minute diners. On leaving examined the large table of "take away" cakes and scones, could not resist a piece of lemon iced sponge slice.Loads of Christmas cakes and various other goodies.Total meal drinks and cake £19.10 money well spent. Will be back very soon,

This place is only open 3 lunches per week each for about 3 hours, how they do this is amazing. Everyone on the day of my visit were eating the roast lunches, with good reason. Two fresh joints per day and fresh vegetables home cooked, you could really taste the home cooking. Even the sherry trifle was very obviously home made and proper sherry. There is quite a range of other dishes too. The prices were very reasonable. Simple home cooking at its best

We did have a problem finding the place, but asked some friendly locals and they pointed us in the right direction, Plenty of car parking. When we went in the place was full. It was lucky we had booked because there were 20 of us. It is only open three half days a week, but definitely worth a visit. It had an old fashioned country farm feel about it, and it was good wholesome food when it came, we ordered from a good range of main meals so we had a variety of meals and no one complained about anything, everyone remarked on the good fresh food cooked to perfection, It was hot and tasty, The waitresses were efficient, helpful and friendly and nothing was too much trouble, We had puddings afterwards and then we were stuffed, full up and happy to drink a lovely fresh cup of Yorkshire tea, or coffee, no beer or wine served, I don't think they had a licence, but there were jugs of water on the table and glassespeople were coming and going all the time we were there and they were all accommodated but I would advise booking to be sure of a table. Also I forgot to say good value for money and if your appetite is not so hearty you can get half size meals which were not much smaller than the full size meals

About 1.5 miles South West out of Haworth just off Moor Side Lane, not far from the Bronte way, in splendid isolation on the moors, stands the family-run Drop Farm tea rooms. With very little effort you can easily imagine yourself in Top Withens Farmhouse itself. You really must include a visit here as part of your trip back in time to the Bronte country. This wonderful lunch stop is a closely guarded secret among the cognoscenti and aficionados of true English 50’s GRUB and old school-dinners. The average age in the dining area was however reduced from about 75 to 74 as the delightful 30-something waitress Deborah bustled around. In this isolated, Yorkshire stone built and oak beamed farmhouse you will not get nouvelle cuisine (where they put your gravy on the plate first as they say round here), or fast food. You will however be treated to the most hearty of honest platefuls of locally sourced meat and two veg, meat pies etc. with grand traditional puddings and custard to follow, all lovingly and freshly cooked, and all washed down with a good strong pot of Yorkshire tea. Large or half portions are available and all at very reasonable prices. There are home-made cakes and pastries, jams chutneys and pickles for sale at the counter under a sign saying "knitting-wool wanted". Unfortunately debit and credit cards are not accepted, cash only I’m afraid, and you do need to book. The opening hours are 12-3 Wednesday, Thursday and Friday only. The likes of Heston Blumenthal or Giles Coren would not appreciate this wonderful, wonderful find, thank goodness! I do realise however that having written this, I may not be able to get in again!!

Drop Farm tearoom is like going back in time, the lovely attentive and friendly staff serving roast dinners among an extensive menu of other meals, and lovely deserts like trifle, meringue, ginger sponge and custard, crumble and fruit pies. They do home baking and sell scones and fruit cake, sometimes fairy buns. The bonus being that you can get a half portion, which I find is great both appetite and cost wise, then you have room for a desert. Its along a country lane, which you can take your car.Just open 3 days a week 12-3pm.Would thoroughly encourage a visit,a good find, and have returned often .Opening hours 12-3pm Wed,Thurs and Fridays.
