First time to use Dragon Palace, firstly the service on the phone was outstanding. The delivery arrived in 30 minutes, despite being told it would take 1 hour. The food was amazing, with the quality of the food, and the taste, all amazing. And the price was good. If you have never used them try, we will definitely use them again

I recently tried the Chinese takeaway for the first time and was thoroughly impressed. I ordered the superior chow mein, beansprouts duck, red pork omelette, and chips, and the meal was absolutely delightful. The ingredients were fresh, and the noodles were exceptionally tasty. I'm looking forward to ordering from them again; it certainly won't be my last visit!

Absolutely fantastic meal we just had from Dragon Palace. Tried a few different places lately as we moved from the area but it has to be said this is still the best, we've had in a long while. Won't be going anywhere else again 💪💪

I first started using the Dragon Palace well over 20 years ago and its still as good today as it was then. Highly recommended.

Popped in for a portion of chips on Friday evening and wasn't disappointed. They were tasty and the portion size was a decent one. I will definitely be popping in for more than chips next time. I have heard good things about the bbq spare ribs, so I will be giving those a try.

It's an okay little place. The food is okay but it's got lovely staff! Prices are the best around aswell.

First time of us using this restaurant and we were really pleased with our meal. We ordered a takeway at 5pm which I collected at 5.30pm (just after they opened). We had sweet and sour chicken balls, egg fried rice, chicken chow mein and curry sauce. My partner is really choosy when it comes to chinese and even he said how much he enjoyed the meal. The chicken balls were the best I've ever had from a takeaway with just a minimal coating of dough, not completely swamped like some places. Both the rice and chow mein were cooked quite lightly. I will say the curry sauce did have a bit of a kick to it but I actually like hot curries so that was a plus for me. Overall great food, good value for money. Worth the trip across town to collect it. This is our go-to chinese takeaway now. the only slight negative was, by the time, I got the food home, the rice wasn't very warm but to be fair, they'd only just opened (maybe not had time to heat up?) and the trip back home was through Friday night traffic on the M4. Next time I will factor that into my plans and take a chill bag plus order later. Looking forward to it!

This is a chinese take away only. The chicken clearly had a mixture of old and new chicken, dried and hard to eat. Virtually no sauce. As for the chips they were nothing short of inedible. Would never go there again.

I've visited a lot of Chinese takeaways and this is the best ever. Absolutely fantastic food, and highly recommended by me.

Best Chinese in Newport friendly clean and food is amazing. I can honestly say I have never had a bad meal in 4 years of using.

I have been using Dragon Palace for years now and always get a good meal. The delivery is fast with the food always arrives hot. The meals are reasonably priced. My only complaint is they close on a Tuesday!

I've enjoyed the food from here for years. It's always piping hot, tasty and delivered in a timely manner by friendly staff. Not massive portions compared to other Chinese places but there is always some left over so I can't complain. If your looking for simple delicious Chinese takeaway I recommend Dragon Palace.

Must say that I’ve had a Chinese from other places but the dragon is the best always deliver on time friendly over phone and food tastes fabulous 😋

Usually do take away at a place in caerleon but they recently had a very poor FSA visit so we tried dragon palace (which has a better FSA score from 2017). We had friends over and ordered £75 worth of food. It was very nice. They threw in a bottle of tango. Only downside was no free prawn crackers but the food was spot on.

Despite turning up at peak takeaway time - 7.50 on a Friday night - we were leaving with our food within 25 minutes. The staff were friendly and good humoured. But the best part of the experience was when we got back home and tucked in. The menu was not hugely extensive or adventurous but every dish was well-cooked and authentic. Flavour and seasoning was distinctive unlike some Chinese takeaways which tend to use similar sauces on all their dishes. I thoroughly recommend this takeaway for an enjoyable family meal.

I have tried eating here but they don’t cell vermicelli rice noodles like most other chinese,s so I was very disappointed as we order other foods from there regularly but I have don’t eat wheat, hence the need for rice noodles as I’m fed up of rice

Been going here for food for 45 plus years it used to be a bit expensive but it seems to have come back into line. Love the curry. A great place to eat. Food is always great

I reviewed The Dragon Palace in May 17 and commented on the curry sauce. Manager reply 6 months later said they had been perfecting the taste and quality.....decided to try again and have to say there is absolutely no difference. Still same nasty tang to it. The rest of their menu seems nice but really can’t stomach their curry.

I've been going to the Dragon for over 50 years always good food although a bit expensive and quality can vary but always good (sometimes better) . BUT no reward for regular customers. But I'll always go back.

Patatas fritas y salsa de curry ordenados. Las fichas son demasiado saladas y la salsa curry tang tenía una muy desagradable para casi ordenados pollo al curry me alegro de no ahora. Por desgracia, la salsa era derramado en los chips antes de la cata, así todo terminó en la papelera. Totalmente arruinado un viernes noche tenía ganas de llevar. No pedimos desde aquí por un tiempo. . . . . . . No pedir por un tiempo nuevo. Es una pena.

Ordered a curry as our regular Chinese was not open. Delivery was very fast but food was awful worst Chinese food I have ever had I couldn't even eat it, portions were small for the prices charged. Very disappointed

Just received my Chinese meal and it was absolutely shocking. Overpriced, bland food. Prawn crackers were damp and rest of the food was tasteless. There are better Chinese takeaways around Newport. Would not recommend and we will not be using this place again.

Parado con mi novia y nos dieron una comida realmente precioso. La comida llegó rápidamente y era caliente y olía delicioso. Cuando llegamos a casa, nos encontramos que el sabor era mejor... y realmente disfrutamos de una primera toma de distancia! Volveremos.

For more than 30 years we have been keen fans of Chinese food. We have to say that the food we purchased and ate from the Dragon Palace was the best Chinese we have ever eaten! So much so that we repeated the following day! Excellent, easy to find, and quick service.

Dragon Palace has always been my number one place to go to for a Chinese Take-away. Its local, its good and its affordable. I've been going there since I was a child, and while I have tried other Chinese take-outs (admittedly), Dragon Palace always stands out as my favourite. The place is what you would expect. Its one large room with a desk at the front. The whole place has an oriental vibe, with the decorations and the design of the place. From the cats to the calenders and even the paintings on the wall. There's also seating, which is a few chairs and a long wooden bench. Not the best furniture, but its fine for what it is. There is also a TV, so you'll have something to watch while you wait.To the left, there is a large menu, which shows you the large variety of dishes available. There's lots of classic Chinese meals, with plenty of variations and options. They even make 'English' meals, to accommodate to people not so fussed on Chinese food. They have larger meals for groups, and offer many different kinds of extra portions. Drinks are also available. Cans are displayed behind the desk, which are a pretty reasonable price. The service is excellent. Its a family-owned restaurant, and every time I've been they have been nice, polite and friendly. The food was great. By the time we'd taken it home, the food was still piping hot and ready to eat. The portions were huge, with plenty of food left over for the next day. Everything was well-cooked with nothing overcooked or undercooked. The food was delicious, just like every other time we go to the Dragon Palace. Honestly, there isn't really anything negative to say. The service is excellent, the food is excellent and the place even offers delivery. Its a great place to eat with plenty of variety and food you can always rely on! If you're in Newport and need a good, affordable Chinese, head to the Dragon Palace.
