Dragon House in North Kesteven

We placed an order last night at a cost of £45 having enjoyed the food from here many times before, it didn't taste quite the same this time & my goodness are we paying for it today, we've all got really bad stomachs so I imagine it's a touch of food poisoning. Lesson learned!!!

Where to start, after a very busy my partner and I ummed and ahhed over whether to get a Chinese or not,, in the end we did. Crispy beef and sweet and sour chicken cantonese style. We got home and it was quite literally inedible. I had only one option which was to dispose of it but then I thought no, my partner had paid $14.50 for this and money is tight for everyone and I thought we'd go back and hopefully get a refund. Deep down I would have settled for another dish at least, but I can't tell you just how bad this food really was. The pictures do it far more justice than it deserves. What was also interesting is that it was a cash transaction and cash only business with no receipt or little numbered ticket given. Anyway, a sweet girl came to the counter and I politely explained to her that we weren't happy and were hoping for our money back. I asked for her mum coz she looked unduly worried and her mum got heated quite quickly in an odd way and the little girl explained in perfect English that they always do it like this. I said that's fine but I wasn't happy and demonstrated how tough the 'beef' was and the sweet and sour chicken clearly the same. She said that was it, she'd cooked it, we'd ordered it, the end. I thought we'[ll I'll stand my ground here a little bit and I was also careful not to leave on bad terms, I don't want to upset anyone but I wasn't happy with the tone of conversation, I was on a de escalation mission now. This lady was stressed. The lady then told me to contact a solicitor, although I thought that was a little bit strong. I made clear that I simply wanted a refund and nothing more, they never offered to replace with another dish which I would have accepted. The lady appeared rather tense, then a man appeared and I politely attempted to explain the situation to him. They both disappeared and I waited, the lady then said they were closed and the man appeared with a face of thunder, told me to ring the police and he kicked down the counter door down , his face distorted in anger, I thought he was going to throw the food at me but managed to escape in time where he threw the whole lot out the door at me in the street. Would you believe? So I thought, well, this will make an interesting review. The food really needed to be in the bin. Afterwards, I did actually contact the police because his behaviour was unreasonable, threatening and beyond belief. They gave me an incident number and said I could press charges via a solicitor. Let's see how I feel in the morning but no, I wouldn't recommend this place in a million years. I've had bad food before, normally I keep quiet but that man is aggressive and threatening and the food was vile, stiff and unchewable

I just wish that the kitchen would talk to front of house on the availability of an food order and not disappoint on pick up that part of your order is not available causing inconvenience multiple journeys and extra costs.

Went to son in laws house at weekend and he ordered for 6 of us and it was really lovely and hot which I think is always the main issue with takeaways, so on my partners 60th birthday 5 days later I choose this takeaway to be delivered to our home and it was the only Chinese takeaway in all my 65 years that I have actually enjoyed from start to finish and ate it all as I normally leave some as Luke warm or cold but it was really good.

Consistently the best Chinese anywhere! So lucky they are local to me :-)

The roast pork & mushroom curry is to die for. As is the house special fried rice. Delivery staff always very friendly. Best Chinese food in Lincoln in my opinion.

Prices have escalated but food quality hasn't. Have to say its not my favourite anymore.

Unfortunately not as good as it used to be. The meal was very dry and flavourless. Prawn crackers were soggy and overall quite disappointing.

Answer ya phone or has the floods shut shop? We the public (your customers) want to know if your open.We are not mind readers

Great Chinese takeaway. Best I've found near Lincoln in the past 2 years. Cash only 👍

We don't go anywhere else for our Chinese takeaway now. We have been coming here for just over a year now and have never ever had a bad one. Not only that, we pre-ordered on Thursday last week ready for Friday. Food was ready on time as agreed and was delicious. They actually forgot to put the beef in black bean sauce in with the order, however when I got home and realised, I called up and they said someone was on their way to drop it off. 20 seconds later there was a knock at my door with the dish. My guests said 'Wow, what fantastic customer service' and I definitely agree. This is the only time there has been an issue with an order, but they handled the situation perfectly. We always collect so we always have nice hot food. Can't recommend Dragon House enough. If you are local and haven't tried here, you need to!

It's the first time we have used Dragon House and I must say that it was very nice we will be using them all the time from now on excellent quality

Will not be ordering again. The standards with the food recently have slipped quite a lot, combine that with the rude members of staff and the order always being wrong. It’s a shame as it did used to be nice.

Tried the Dragon House for the first time on Wednesday and it will not be the last. A lovely clean and friendly carry-out with fantastic tasting food.

The best Chinese takeaway in Lincoln

Finally a great Chinese...so fresh tasty and hot! The staff go out of their way to give recommendations and to customise things to our liking. Can't recommend enough will now be on our favourite list 👌

1st time for Dragon House! It won't be the last,really enjoyed our takeaway, it's up there with our favourites!............delicious 😋

It's difficult to find any fault with Dragon House - the food was hot, tasty and the portions very generous. My only issue was that I hadn't seen the part about being cash only and had to go to a local shop to use the only nearby cash point that charged for withdrawing cash - next time I'll know!

Read the great reviews and decided to try for my 1st time. Ordered sweet and sour ribs and a special curry fried rice. My meal was ready in 5 minutes. Drove back to Heath Farm. My meal was still piping hot. Absolutely beautiful ribs and main meal. Will definitely be returning 1 night in the week ahead.

Decided to change takeaway and went for dragon house the food was hot ,well cooked and there was lots of it, picked it up so I can't comment on delivery times but the food is as good as you will find in a takeaway around lincoln

Best Chinese we have had in a long time

The best Chinese takeaway we have ever had!! We were told just over an hour wait and it was nearly 2 hours BUT it was so worth the wait. Definitely our regular takeaway now 👍😊

Regular customer and always happy with the food. They're also quick, anytime we've ordered delivery it's normally here in half the estimated time! Staff are friendly too.

They offer a great menu, great food and great service (with delivery too). Personally I love their Special Curry but I've tried a lot off the menu (for over 10 years now!) and not been disappointed. Highly recommended

Just had chicken curry, beef in garlic sauce with added chilli, egg fried rice and plain chow mein. Was absolutely delicious. They were half an hour longer delivering it than they said but it was worth it

Really seems to have gone downhill in recent months. We've used the Dragon House for 8 years and until recently had no complaints yet of late it's been mistake after mistake. Kings prawns left out of special curries on two occassions (the most expensive ingredient in the dish), chicken balls in batter exceptionally brown (overcooked or overused fat) and greasy, wrong telephone orders, incorrect delivery charge and excessive waiting times when you go in to order. Waiting 25 minutes last night for my meal with no other customers sat waiting. The server apologised and said he would deal with it "later".......why wait? They really need to improve and return to the service they once delivered.
