We walked quite a challenging path across fields to reach this delightful pub. The beer is good, the food from the mobile unit in the car park is tasty and the view is refreshing. Just to cap it all the landlord Chris has a lovely smile is obviously well liked by the locals.

Popped over here to meet friends. Love this traditional pub. It's been transformed following recent investment by the owners, but still keeps the traditional pub buzz. The addition of outdoor seating in the car park has really enhanced things and there is a real community vibe. Couple this with great beer and a variety of visiting street food vendors (pizza tonight was yummy), it just makes it a great place to be

We were staying in Stocksfield for the weekend, and always go to Dr Syntax, it is such a wonderful friendly, traditional pub. My gin and tonic was served beautifully, lots of ice, lemon and fruit, absolutely gorgeous. We had pizzas from the van outside and are these in the pub, they were delicious. We love this pub.

Perros bienvenido.

Lots of good beers and the food, a catered buffet, was also of good quality. A nice clean pub inside. Has sports tv and pool table on one side, with a quieter area on the other. The only reason I've given it a rating of 4 and not 5, is that surprisingly the exterior of the premises looks run down and needs some tlc. Don't let it put you off though.

The Dr Syntax is a very friendly place to relax and enjoy the wide range of drinks on offer . There are two bars , one has a pool table and juke box . They also have sky sports and bt sports in this bar too . The other bar is more relaxed where you can chat with friends . The Syntax is dog friendly too , so can pop in when walking the dog .

I was recommended the Bari Tea Brewery by a friend and was not disappointed. The range of teas on offer was vast with many interesting flavours! I had the green ginger tea with a scone which was freshly baked and was very tasty! Service was very good and all the staff very friendly.

You have to try afternoon tea here! Likely need to book in advance, we were given a great choice of sandwiches when we booked. On the day, we were seated upstairs right by the window looking over the sea, a fabulous view even on a grey winter afternoon. The food was delicious, more than we could eat though we gave it a good go. Good mix of savoury and sweet, some other afternoon teas elsewhere have too much sweet stuff. Suzanne, the owner, and the staff are so welcoming and helpful, and the cost was so reasonable. I highly recommend this place.

This place is a totally fantastic! Do not miss out on the 'Kipper in a Bun'. I wavered, and thought to maybe have a 'Banger in a Bun' although was so glad I went with the Kipper. Perfectly cooked Kippers, Lemon mayonnaise, in a soft white roll eaten on the beach was just divine. Wife's comments were 'That was Lush!'. Great friendly service and all locally sourced delicious produce. Even the coffee was from Holly Island! All in a free car park!
