Dough in Bath and North East Somerset

I was genuinely looking forward to eating here — the food was decent, the ambiance pleasant, and the staff friendly enough. But then came the magical disappearing wallet act, cleverly disguised as a service charge. At no point was I informed that a 12.5% "optional" service charge would be added to the bill — not on the menu, not verbally, and certainly not before they took payment. It was quietly included in the total, and the card machine handed over with a smile, as if nothing had happened. Like a pickpocket who whispers "I’m taking your money now," but does it while you’re distracted by a nicely plated tiramisu. This isn’t hospitality — it’s dishonesty by omission, and it borders on fraudulent practice. If a charge is optional, it must be clearly disclosed before payment and not sneakily added in the hope that no one will notice. That’s not gratuity — that’s gratuity theatre, performed in the dark. To be clear: service charges are fine if disclosed. But this restaurant opted for concealment over clarity, leaving me feeling duped rather than dined. Until they fix this, I’d advise checking your bill very carefully — and maybe bringing a magnifying glass and a barrister just in case. #StealthTax #ServiceChargeSwindle #OptionalMeansOptional

Tasty pizza with lots of options for gluten free and vegetarians. Really enjoy spicy pepperoni on turmeric base. Service was good, our waitress recommended we switch our bases - turmeric best with spice! Seating outside could be a little comfier and seagull deterrent needed (if sitting on the edge of the seating area).

A 45 minute wait for a pizza is unacceptable under any circumstances. No apology, in fact was told not to come back when I gave my polite feedback. Poor management, it's a pity because the pizza was actually ok..

We were served by 2 friendly staff who made the dining experience amazing. We ordered the Caprese and meaty feast pizza with turmeric base, both of which are delicious.

Picked here as next to where we were staying but really pleased we did. Served by 3 friendly and diligent staff, prompt service and pizzas ( I got lost on what base to order but..) they were all delicious. Pudding of tiramisu was great too!.

Quite a nice pizza and I liked how you could choose your type of dough. I went for turmeric, and it was delicious. However, we waited quite a long time for the waitress to take our order.

A very nice pizza and beetroot salad was enjoyed earlier this evening, great service too but the only complaint was that the restaurant was very cold, (had to keep coats on) which spoilt the occasion somewhat. Please turn the heating up !

Fantastic pizza. I had the four cheese one and it was exceptional. My only regret is that I did not have room for dessert. The staff was also very attentive and polite. Will definitely be returning! Edit: I did return, twice. Had the ricotta and spinach pizza and of course the four cheese pizza again - it is sublime. Husband had the pepperoni calabrese and the smokey. We also tried the panna cotta and the Nutella tiramisu. Everything was excellent. Can't wait to go back!

We had a really pleasant evening here. Food was nice and served quickly. All staff were very friendly and made the experience memorable.

The seafood pizza was looking sad but the dough was good.

My second time here. It's a must when visiting Bath. I love the pizza dough that comes with different flours' base. This time I've tried profumo di mare... I've enjoyed every bite! I wished I had space for the tiramisù. Maybe next time. Highly recommended for the best pizza

I have had a lot of gluten free pizzas in my time from many different countries. I can hands down say this is the best gluten free base I have ever had. Possibly the best pizza I have had. Also had lovely staff, quality service and a good atmosphere.

A really good find (we had booked a table a few days ahead, knowing the area would be busy with the Christmas markets) The menu has a good selection of dishes - with a further page for the specials. The sharing anti pasto platter was a good choice - with some nice meats. Our mains arrived, and the pizzas looked amazing - and the calzone was impressive too! All very tasty! Come here for some decent pizzas - you won't be disappointed!

Awful, a piece of cardboard topped with tomatoe puree with a very small covering lof cheese and four basil leaves £12.95 two ladies out on a rare shopping trip looking for a descent lunch soo disappointed.

We’ve always enjoyed stopping by the other restaurant in the Corridor whenever we’re in Bath, and we’ve never had a bad experience until this last visit, which, unfortunately, left us quite disappointed. It felt like the staff wasn’t as attentive or caring as we’d come to expect. When we requested a high chair, it arrived dirty, and we had to clean it ourselves. The tables also seemed sticky and unclean. I ordered a vegan pizza but was served one with cheese and two types of meat instead. When we asked for the bill, it didn’t come until we had to remind them as we were leaving. We’ve always appreciated good service and typically leave a tip to show it, but this time, it just didn’t feel right. Sadly, this experience has made us reconsider dining here in the future.

Nice dough, pizza was overcooked, but based on the pictures here, I can see it’s often the case. Average at best and expensive. Nice service but would not go back.

My friend is celiac and I have a gluten and dairy intolerance. We ate here and had a wonderful meal. The gluten-free crust is truly phenomenal. However, we came back a few days later and had a different waiter, and a very different experience. I ordered a gluten-free beer, but they brought me alcohol free beer. There was a bottle so I was able to catch it before I had any. I ordered a gluten-free pizza without cheese. It came with cheese. I was told because it was less than one percent lactose it was OK. I explained to them that I am not lactose intolerant, I cannot eat casein or whey, so I cannot have any cheese, which is why I asked for no cheese. We had to go back-and-forth a few times before they offered to make me a new pizza without cheese. After eating it, the check came, and my pizza was not marked gluten-free. (The gluten-free crust is so good, I couldn’t tell the difference.) But when we asked about it, the waiter said I never mentioned I had a gluten problem, despite me definitely doing that (annd him verbally confirming it when I said it) and having a gluten-free beer. I explained to him that both my friend and I were going to get very sick. He took our drinks off the bill, but I don’t think he truly understood how big a problem it was. So, the gluten free crust is great, and they seem to be very accommodating for food allergies, but you have to be VERY on top of your waiter to make sure you don’t have a problem.

The experience at Dough was unforgettable. We were so satisfied with the service and food. So fresh and tasty. The chef / owner is Italian. The pizza: the crust is crunchy, chewy and thin, rarely to have in other places. Must try right away when it’s on the table. All other dishes were great: salad ingredients were fresh, crunchy, the taste not too sour; the warm burrata ( I forgot to take picture of it), the desserts were delicious. Days after we still think of the food and are so glad that we have eaten at Dough.

I stopped at Dough last night for a pizza and a glass of wine. Travelling alone as a young woman it’s important to me that I find somewhere that feels safe and welcoming - where I can relax and enjoy my evening without feeling crowded or intimidated. The vibes here were perfect! The girls on shift were all so lovely and the food was great too, and a reasonable price. Will return when I can 🍕

Lovely and quiet location. Outside area tables are wobbly, greasy and sticky, although they were cleaned up in advance. The staff were friendly, the food was average, I've had way better pizzas elsewhere for less value. The sauce bottles were greasy and their taps were falling off. It's not a bad place, but it's beyond average and nothing special. If they work on the smaller details, they'd get 2-3 stars more, but I don't think they're really bothered by the looks of it.

The food was lovely, the outside terrace is beautiful and all the stuff were amazing, specially Dean. We will be back.

Was searching endlessly in bath for a decent gluten free pizza, and after going to Green park brasserie and receiving their gluten free pizza, which I refused to eat and pay for because it was so burnt and hard! I walked to Dough and was very welcomed and assured it would be nice and it 100% met expectations!

Service was shocking, food below average, avoid!

The pizzas seemed good, but after ordering 3 times, and waiting 1 hour for 2 pizzas, we left. The service is really bad, the food, I don't know!

This was the worst pizzeria I have ever been to.the four season cheese was salty ,the ham wasn't encourgeable enough to eat, and the peperoni was too salty and spicy, and we didn't continue our meal. But the workers were friendly.

Pizza was thin and that’s OK and usually good but it was not cooked enough and the meat and cheese had no flavoring. Nothing had flavouring and the tomato sauce was creamy, which made it all squishy and not good.

Went for dinner on a Saturday night. There were no early reservations so we ended up with one at 8:45 PM. Fortunately, we stopped by earlier and they were able to seat us. I ordered the Pepperoni Calabresi (tomato sauce, mozzarella, italian pepperoni, peppers, nduja) on sourdough. It was very good - just the right amount of sauce so that it wasn’t sloppy, while the pepperoni and nduja had just the right amount of kick. Friendly staff. If you’re looking for a good pizza at a reasonable price you can’t go wrong stopping by.

Taken far too long for our order to be taken, our drinks took around 20 minutes to be delivered to the table, food was around an hour.

Arrived and got seated by the team, quite some time later one of the waitstaff come to take our order (2 of the same pizza, two soft drinks). After this, approaching an hour passed, and we flagged down a staff member and asked what was happening, having not got our drinks or food. We were told there was no record of our order and that they could put it in then, when asked how long it would take, they said "15 minutes we are busy". We left and went to Mission Burrito.

Bad experience!! We order and food coming but with not cutlery. Till the bring it it was past 15 minutes and the food get cold. Plus the food not good as is look. And they charge 10% for service.

Great pizza. We come here as they have a great selection of pizzas with a choice of tasty gluten free bases.

Shaded outdoor seating that makes for a lovely atmosphere during the summer. The variety of doughs is fantastic. We really enjoyed the turmeric base, as it was really different but not overwhelming. Pizza has the ‘authentic Italian’ energy.

Dough does the most amazing gluten free dough in 4 or 5 different flavours. It's the best pizza I have had since being diagnosed 8 years ago with coeliacs disease. Definitely worth a visit coeliac or not. They also cater for vegan diets. Pictures show my gf and mu husbands muggle food. Gf is closest in the picture

Went in here on the strength of reviews and pictures, interesting concept of adding turmeric or hemp to the base, or using kamut grain. Have to say I was a bit disappointed with the special - partigiana, that I had, could have done with more topping (couldn't taste any nduja). Nice enough, and quattro formaggio was ok as well but could have done with something a bit extra. Sangiovese house red was great.

Top Notch Food, Atmosphere and Service! The food was all made fresh to order - tasted amazing! My friend is a celiac and their food was prepared accordingly, the inclusivity is appreciated :) Our waiter was super helpful, had a good laugh with us and pointed us to some spots around the city - can't ask for more!

This was my second time here after my friend from Italy recommended it and said “authentic Italian food”. We had lunch here to celebrate a birthday. Pizzas were AMAZING. They were so kind to surprise us with a tiramisu and a candle on it!🙏☺️. Highly recommended!!

This place is fab for Coeliacs. The gluten free pizza dough is out of this world, so like the muggle version, you'd not know. I had my first calzone since having to go gluten free 8 years ago! The only thing that would have improved our visit would have been if the Tiramisu had been gluten free. 👏🏼

After not being able to find a restaurant to eat at, we came across dough and could smell the incredible food as we walked towards the restaurant. Considering that they were busy, and we did not have a booking, they still managed to sit us down so we can enjoy the food! I would 100% recommend ‘dough’ to anyone who comes to bath!

This restaurant was truly a disappointment compared with its (now closed) Bristol counterpart. Food was passable were it not for the price tag. Having been to the Bristol restaurant I assumed the bath would be as good if not better but it wasn't even as good as some lower price bracket restaurants. Service was quite slow too which again we did not have when visiting a different one. It's a shame as I specifically booked here because I knew their brand meant quality but apparently not in the bath restaurants.

A great pizza find in Bath with many gluten free and coeliac friendly options. The pizzas came out well done and very quickly. Our waiter was very friendly and helpful in recommending different options. The dough was perfectly crisp and the right texture. Recommend this location as their other restaurant in kingmead square is often fully booked and reserved. Pizza is around £15 each but worth the spend due to the quality.

Excellent light and digestible pizza. Not the Neapolitan type, but crunchier. Unsurprising choice of doughs and good quality ingredients. Not very Italian atmosphere. Too bad about the really bad coffee (being a pizzeria we had hoped for a good espresso!)

We recently ate at this restaurant before watching a film, and our experience was exceptional. Our server, Dan, deserves high praise for his outstanding service. He ensured our orders were promptly taken care off and offered valuable food recommendations. Dan truly added great value to our experience here!

Amazing pizza and Cannelloni - we all loved our food! Also really good vegan options available! It would be nice if the heating could be turned on a little bit more.

Pizzas were absolutely outstanding; perfectly crispy and chewy. Toppings were generous, yet perfectly balanced without being overcrowded. Catered very well for Gluten Free as well! To top it off, the servers were very friendly and accommodating.

My 10 year old said it's too good to be real and we agree! The best pizza we've had outside of Italy!
