Jack, our server was very chatty and helpful. The food was excellent, and I enjoyed trying their own beers 🍻

Great service! Food could have been better though. Rice was overcooked and pasta was undercooked.

I was really disappointed with both the food and the service. I ordered creamy pasta with sausage and broccoli. The broccoli was overcooked, and the pasta was so undercooked that it hurt my jaw to chew it. Additionally, the sausage was extremely salty. The focaccia was overly oily, and the ham was served cold. We didn't even finish half of our food. The service was equally poor. The waiter offered us Parmesan cheese but never brought it. We waited in vain. The person handling the POS machine for payment took his time coming to our table and looked bored and annoyed. He didn't even say thank you after. Overall, I was very disappointed. Oh the only good thing in this place was the receptionist- a guy with a long hair. His warm welcome and smile. That's it.

Food is quite expensive but not that good unfortunately. It's "too much" pasta were too creamy and salty, pizza was so fatty and oily. Well not my taste

We visited on 11 April 2024 and Marco and his staff were absolutely amazing at organising our post wedding drinks and food! So attentive and absolutely nothing was too much trouble!!!!! They added so many touches that we really didn't expect to go the extra mile!!!!

Very dissapointing food, have had better supermarket pizzas, felt ignored by staff, heard really good things about this place, tip added to bill without asking, only noticed this after paying, ☹️

Absolutely incredible meal and experience. We emailed ahead to inform them of an unusual, anaphylactic allergy in our party. The staff could not have been more helpful, checking every ingredient thoroughly to ensure none of the allergen. In addition, floor staff were so lovely and friendly, and really made us feel welcome during our meal. We'll definitely be coming back!

Delicious biramisu. No one told us that we needed to pay inside at the bar so we sat waiting for our check for awhile.

Starter was nice chiken wings main wasn't meatballs over done and onle 4 and more pasta than meat so not good enuff for a special occasion sorry

We had our wedding at this excellent restaurant 😋 staff went over and above to make our day so special could not of done enough for us . Amazing food service above and beyond 😋 👌 110% excellent.

Good friendly service but the food was odd. I ordered gnocchi with pork belly and got sliced sandwich ham with cubes of puff pastry. Zero gnocchi or pork on plate. The burger and chips was fine but I cannot trust a restaurant that deceives you with other food substitutions that is nothing like the menu. Why not tell me it is not available. Will not be back to somewhere that deceives customers with what it puts on the plate. Good disabled ramp access. The accessible toilet has a big heavy door to get inside so is not easy to access.

Marco and his staff were uniquely welcoming, quick in service and good food. Recommended for families with children.

Cosy with a funky and warm vibe, I love it there! You can sit outside if the weather's good, or go indoor and be treated with an amazing interior. Our servers were Maria and Joe? I think? Both were amazing and lovely people.

Like at home, high quality raw materials, welcoming environment and everything is reminiscent of Italy

First visit, beer was nice, try a few before selecting. Had a specialist one then the house lager. Both good. Ate, all fine but slightly restricted when down stairs. Down stairs there are table games . Over all very comfy and friendly knowledgeable staff.

Previously a 5 star review, 2 years later the standards have slipped. Surroundings still lovely and staff still attentive, but the food isn’t the same and it’s certainly not better. The beer menu has been significantly cropped so it leaves a visit significantly less interesting than previously. My bet is that it’s closed before the end of the year

Food was not as good as previous visits, maybe we just chose the wrong dishes. The dirty fries were awful, meant to be with cheese and bacon but were just a plate of oven chips with a couple of bacon curds and a teaspoon of nacho cheese sauce. We also had to ask to move our seat as there was a terrible smell of dampness which would not have been pleasant while eating.

Literally the worst food I have ever had in my entire life. The carbonara was full of burnt bacon and an entire grinder of pepper. The burrata in my starter was rock solid and not worth the £10 price tag. Table football was sick tho.

Food was pretty tasteless across the board. Beers bang average. Table football was the highlight.

I’ve had bad experience here not with the food but with the manager Marco. He likes to bring guys here after it’s closed and give them a lot of drinks and try to hook up with them. Extremely inappropriate. I was unfortunately one of the victims. He lies a lot too in order to get the guys over. I just think it’s inappropriate and extremely unhygienic to be trying to use his restaurant dining area, bar, bathroom to hook up with guys after getting them very drunk when there will be clients coming to the restaurant and sitting in the same area for food the next day. Extremely unprofessional and I hope this matter is looked into. I have videos of being in the restaurant after closing hours with Marco. Just a bad experience overall and has put me off ever wanting to go there for a meal knowing what is going on there at night and has brought a bad name to doppio malto

Place is nice and staff are friendly. Food is very average and pasta tasted burnt but manager agreed to take it off the bill. It's probably cooked in a merrychef machine that hadn't been cleaned.

Bar downstairs, bar staff when able had good chat about beer available and gave suggestions and samples. Good work Fraser and David!

Food was great, made to taste like proper italian food. Service was also great, made small talk and servers showed knowledge of what they where serving. The selection of beer was quite large, aswell as each beer being different and quite good. 10/10

I went here for my friends birthday. It’s a very beautiful place and the decor is nice. The food overall was ok. It’s not the best and it’s not the worst. I had chicken and chips basically and my chicken was not seasoned much and it was a bit hard to cut in. I would say it’s a bit overpriced. Service was ok as well.

Our group of seven visited this Italian restaurant in Glasgow before a concert at the nearby concert hall. Overall, we had a pleasant experience. The food was tasty and well-prepared, with generous portions and a good variety of options. However, the service was a bit slow, which can be expected in a busy area like this. Despite the crowds, we managed to have a lovely meal and a nice evening. If you're looking for a convenient pre-concert dinner spot, this restaurant is worth considering.

Awful. Ordered Pork belly Bruschetta and when it came up, it was just sliced ham. The Fried Gnocchi was just empty puff pastry. We cancelled our main course order and received an "ok" response - like they didn't give a damn. Sooo disappointing.

Sat in one of the booths in the downstairs bar. Good beer and great ambience. We will certainly return, maybe to grab a quick game of table football while we're there

Great location. Food was good and there is a wide choice across the expansive menu. On our table, two of us had the 13oz Ribeye which was very well cooked and seasoned. Reasonable selection of wines, craft beers and other drinks including cocktails. Space is well laid out, large and well furnished. Very good atmosphere and staff / service were excellent.

absolutely fab service from the barman on the underground floor, beer was great. i was with a party of 5, 3 lager drinkers and 2 ale drinkers. overall brilliant experience highly recommend to tourists and locals!!

We landed in the square right around lunchtime and couldn’t find a pub that had food under 19£ a plate so we end up here. You can get a whole pizza for 18£ here (cheapest) but it’s enough for two to 4 people. I feel like the food was good, drinks good. The main thing is that I think there are places in the city where you get better food for a better price, that being said we got a few drinks, and food for three for 63£ (when looking at the exchange rate that day, it’s like 79USD).

Had a great evening with group , booked for 12, only 9 made it, due to weather , but table had been modified with no fuss by time we were seated. Service was great, didn't rush us at all, and it was a Friday evening. Sat over our meal for 3 hours.waiters were attentive, but not pushy. Brought water without charge and without being asked. Will definately come again

Yes it was pay day Saturday but you could have been in a metal fabricators shed and it would have been quiter! Starters were good pasta poor. Starters arrived before any drink. Final hour was quieter and cuppa amerena was great. Go during the week seems to be the thing....

Terrible food. Spicy chicken wings that were not spicy, just bland. Mozzarella with ham, one basil leaf, its not a garnish it a serious herb to be tasted. Cold pasta and a very ordinary pizza (another basil leaf) Never again.

Great atmosphere and friendly staff

Went here for a birthday meal and was so amazed by the quick service and lovely staff. Food was served within 10 minutes of ordering and tasted amazing. Ordered a portion of the Garlic Potato Wedges but wasn’t a fan so they took it off the bill! Cheesecake was delicious and the fries were top-notch. Will definitely be back here in the future. :)

Genuinely one of the worst 'italian' restaurants I have ever been in. Food was absolutely dreadful. Rock hard starter and lasagne that was a disgrace. Main male server was equally abrupt in conversation with our table and never asked our thoughts on the food. Still had their Christmas decorations up. Would advise giving this place a wide swerve.

Tried this new place and was extremely disappointed with the food, starter was tasteless , didn't eat it, told waitress and she apologised, main came and was worse than starter, told waitress again, and she just accepted my complaint as if this happens all the time, didn't pay for anything and can honestly say it was the worst Italian food I have had the misfortune of being served, would not recommend to anyone,

A lively restaurant decor good, food excellent & there was a great atmosphere in the place and the staff were very good and attentive... I recommend Doppio Malto.

Think the food is of a particular taste or style so personal choice, but the wettest runniest risotto I have seen served before. Although they did take it off the bill and serve a cream traditional style cake along with dessert as an apology. Carbonara was very highly peppered as well so I also found that strange and overpowering which meant my son couldn't eat it. So service would be 5/5 however £90 for a sharing starter, 2 mains and 3 ice cream sundaes.. but then £4 for a can of coke and £4 for diet bru is utterly disgusting.. atmosphere was fab and staff lovely but scandalous pricing for less than average food.

Had Christmas night out here and won't go back. We were all separated into smaller tables instead of sitting as a group, wrong starters brought, food all brought at different times so we didn't all eat together yet still had to pay a service charge, the drinks bill had an extra service charge on that even though we sat with empty drink glasses on the table for ages, food quality was mediocre, toilets were vile and hadn't been cleaned, bar service was very slow. Worst Christmas night out I've been to.

Shocking service, waited an hour to get one drink, then drink was wrong!? Would never recommend this place. 2 hour table time, didn't get our table for 25minutes after our booking time of 6.30 but couldn't order drinks just after 8!? Food and drink overpriced. Not a good experience

Friendly staff , lively atmosphere. Service was good and courses arrived at decent intervals. First time here and would definitely go back. Really enjoyed the meal.

Very cold in this place today. Waiter that brought our bill said, 'ladies I have to insist we settle the bill now, you can finish your drinks downstairs' not very friendly and we were not aware there was a time limit on our table plus we booked for 2pm but never got seated until 2.20pm. Food was good but we were cold

The food, especially the pizza 🍕 margarita is delicious and single portion is enough for two with some sides. Love summer ipa as well. Service is kind of an average as sometimes you have to wait for long to place an order or to get a table. Ambiance is bit crowded but manageable.

Visited on Saturday the 25th November in the afternoon looking for a place to get warm, have a few snacks and a couple of drinks. On going in the waiter said "we'll need the table back in an hour". Fine we didn't plan on staying that long... was taken to a table up the back of the cafe and ordered some fries, the sharing platter and drinks. When the platter arrived it was immediately apparent that the parma ham on the platter was off, it was discoloured and smelt very strong, I tried a bit and it was rancid, when I let our server know, he was good, took the platter away and said he would get another along, after about a 15 minute wait, with the fries devoured because we were starving, another platter arrives, with even more putrid parma ham on it, again letting the server know, he took the fries off and said "I'll let the kitchen know(!)". Yes i think you better let them know they're serving rank parma ham that may end up killing someone... be aware that a tip is added automatically to your bill, I didn't know this and would have asked for it to be taken off... thank goodness we went later that night to a proper Italian restaurant (Battlefield Rest) to remind us what italian food is actually like, because it's not served at Doppio's...

The restaurant is in a really nice place and is quite large and airy. The food is decent.

The food was probably the worst I've ever had in an Italian restaurant,from the small portions to the quality of ingredients only one lager on tap and that was returned due to it being sour and quite clearly off ,to put bluntly don't book in my experience you will be disappointed

Lively and noisy restaurant in a convenient location - good place to go eat with a group or for a buzzy atmosphere but not if you need a good heart to heart as you might struggle to hear one another. The beers I tried were pretty nice. Food was tasty but not memorable except that it came in a pan and I really dislike when food isn't served on a proper plate. Lost track of who was serving us as about 5 different people served different things and all asked if we needed drinks after already ordering them so it seemed like there was no communication happening - other than that, the staff were all friendly. Downstairs there's a bar area where you can go for just drinks and has pool tables. This looked like a nice space but whilst it was a little busy, there were a lot of empty tables needing glasses removed and cleaned and didn't see anyone doing this. The toilets were a bit grim - some missing TP, some needing a clean, counters dirty, TP on the floor and 1 hand dryer not working. We were in at a busy time so might not be like this all the time .

Food was OK for the price. Server was so bad I felt like I was part of an experiment. I had to explain the menu to him.

Wasin for drinks only - has a good selection of Italian craft beers and atmosphere is good in the downstairs bar area.

Hemos entrado porque ponía que el menú son 8 libras, entendemos que la bebida no entre, pero hemos preguntado a la camarera y nos ha dicho que el café si entrada dentro del menú (lunch). Nuestra sorpresa ha sido cuando han traído la cuenta y nos han dicho que no y lo han cobrado a parte. Si coméis aquí enteraros bien de lo que venden y añadir que la comida no es de gran calidad para el Precio que cobran. Yo no volvería

Loved it! Nice selection of their own craft beers (over 10 of them) and very good Italian food... my Italian wife agrees!

Great food and polite staff, however can sometimes feel a bit abandoned, even when it is not too busy! There is a huge selection of beers and lots of good cocktails, including pairing recommendations on the menu. The pasta portions are a little small but all of the food is always reliably tasty.

Amazing beer/beer cocktail! They really have good beer: you almost didn’t feel floating even if drinking much. Good atmosphere with some stuffs to play with your friends. Burger is okay for me, really in a big portion and I cannot finish it all :) also feeling the beef is kind of salty and dry for me with too much red cabbage. Overall a good place to have a drink late night!

Really pretty, more of a fancy restaurant/bar. A few games are available for free including pool. Only minus is that the drinks including beers are quite expensive compared to other places so if on a pub crawl, this is rather a place for one drink & then moving on.

Nice restaurant. One staff not so much!!!!!... went in tonight for some drinks. The staff on tonight were great and friendly. The short manager with beard was rude. He walked over to us and gave us a dirty look. He kept walking past us at the bar with a dirty look. We felt uncomfortable so we went outside and he got another member of staff to ask us not to sit outside. He (short guy with beard) took out drinks then we left. We didn't stay for food ..we left to go across the street. Won't be coming back here again due to him.

Pasta was stodgy and flavourless, meatballs were very dry. I’ve had nicer m&s ready meals. The started (arancini rosso) was nice but also not worth the money, cocktails were fine. Service was pretty good considering it was a busy restaurant, can’t fault them there.

Food was terrible. Was so below par. However staff were excellent bar one waiter who's face was tripping him all night but the other employee's made up for it. Tried a few of the beer selections as well which were not very good.

What a shame! Located in the city centre, a huge restaurant, decorated to an absolutely incredible standard which brings nice atmosphere. Attentive staff. The lunch menu which should attract customers looks good on paper and tastes mediocre - no sense of seasoning or marinating. Offers or menu's that are not from the main card menu should attract customers to come back for the better things but if the basic things are done so poorly, that also proves there is no point in wasting more money?

Disappointing to say the least. Still eating my starter when my main course was served. Was told, no need to rush. Took so long to eat my starter as it was heated in a microwave, it was burning my mouth. Touched the dish of my main course which was lasange and also heated in a microwave, turned out very dry and tasteless. My cheesecake was in a jar and halfway down all it was all crushed, dry broken biscuits. Not nice at all. Not what one would expect for a bill of just under £100 and was not impressed by the service charge. I also got the impression of being rushed through our meal as I think they wanted the table for future customers. Not what I expected at all as it was suppose to be a special evening for my friends special birthday.

The staff were helpful. We ordered from the £8 lunch menu and I enjoyed my pizza. We also had beers and appreciated the range on offer. The location is as central as you could get in Glasgow city centre and is especially handy for Queen Street train station. I much prefer this location now compared to its previous incarnation as a Jamie's Italian, especially the grown up seating as opposed to the metal frame chairs that Jamie's used to have.

Been a few times now and keep meaning to leave a review. Doppio Malto never disappoints, the food is fresh, it tastes fantastic, and the menu is so big that it has something for everyone. We love that their house beers come with pairing suggestions on the menu. And I loved the little drink recipe cards you used to be able to grab on the way to the toilets. Can't forget to mention the salted popcorn at the table

The team at DM Glasgow looked after us for the full day, and provided great, attentive service. Manager Giuseppe and his team were always on hand, and ensured that our event went without a hitch!

Beautiful surroundings and excellent service and delicious food and friendly staff

We were given our bill which was £150 over. We had to send it back 3 times to be corrected. At a previous visit the same thing happened to my son and his partner and friends. The service was a bit haphazard at times too with us being asked to repeat orders and at one point asked about an item we hadn't ordered. I received an email asking for feedback but couldn't find the restaurant listed. I emailed the restaurant to let them know about my disappointment rather than just let others know about it but got no reply Sent from Outlook for Android

First time visiting and won't be the last! We had a wonderful lunch, beautiful view and service was fantastic. Can't wait to come back!

This place could have offered us a great experience; such a pity that the extremely rude and inconsiderate waitress, and the very bad service ruined our evening.

Sentendo la mancanza della pasta, abbiamo deciso di andare in questo ristorante. Atmosfera molto tranquilla e rilassante. La cameriera che ci ha servito, italiana doc, è stata molto gentile e disponibile. La pasta buona, cucinata al dente al punto giusto e piccantina. Consiglio!

The least Italian, Italian food ever. The sharing pizza- 24 inches they claim- is a normal sized pizza, cut in half an put on a large sharing board. It also tastes of nothing. The "creamy" broccoli pasta was hard, underdone (not al dente) pasta in a dry pesto sauce, we all laughed at how mismatched the decor was to the Wetherspoons-standard food.

One of my favourites in Glasgow. Very strong beer selection, food is fresh and tasty, love the cocktails especially Zifago and Orchard Mojito. Staff attentive and very friendly. A regular here and will continue to be. Definitely a happy place. Grazie Mille! Jonny

Came here last week. Food was ok although the pizza sizes are a bit confusing. I thought it was a bit pricey for what you get. The service once you get it is good, it was quite quiet when I went. I doubt it would be much better if it was very busy.
