Bake n Flake in Glasgow City

Wrong order delivered, 2.5 hrs wait ..

A shadow of what it once was. Everything about bake n flake is disappointing now. I had been going to IQRA since I was a child. When it changed to bake n flake, I was assured that the quality and recipes would not change. I have now decided that I won't be back as this is not the case. The service the last few years has been abrupt to say the least. The sweets are undoubtedly bought in - they are the exact same as the ones you can buy in tupper ware boxes from KRK, strawberry Gardens etc... Quality has generally gone down hill. Bake n flake has soiled the memory of IQRA and I'm sad to say that you have lost a loyal customer of 30 years.

Food is your typical desi oil infused food 😞 good for quick cakss though needs imporovement

Food was gud . Arrived freezing cold .

Today I visited this small shop and ordered some sweet to takeaway and than see some snacks in the counter so I ordered dhai bhalla chaat it’s is worst Evan can’t finish half of bowl . Take some sweet it’s also very bad taste and smell also.

I ordered a birthday cake and it was ready at that time when I went to collect. They were also welcoming and helpful. The cake was the same what I ordered exactly. IT WAS SOOOO DELICIOUS

Placed an order then waited an hour for our food. Called them and they said the delivery guy was 2 mins away and would be leaving soon. 20 mins after the call, they cancelled my order. Really terrible service.

Terrible service. Ordered lamb curry and only had 4 tiny bites of lamb, chicken spinach and paneer cheese in it and chicken was on bone. Not happy with order and won’t be ordering again. Driver couldn’t find my place had to guide him how to get to me. Not happy at all.

I bought 2 veg samosa and came to work when I opened my samosa it was filled with green peas and something else. I thought its gonna be soya or paneer but due to my suspicion I called the pretending someone else and asked about samosa with green chickpeas. It was lamb samosa. I am pure vegetarian and giving me lamb samosa when I ordered veg samosa is totally wrong I am gonna complaint about this. It's against my religious values. I am so much disappointed.

The man is so friendly tried to convince us to go to pakistan and after tasting his food we are convinced

I am very sad because my son was eager to taste his birthday cake, but he was disappointed. Even though I asked you several times about the flavor, you answered me that it was a vanilla cake, not chocolate. I am now telling you that even the children who were invited did not eat any of it.

The haleem came without naan and there is no option to add naan from the menu! Very strange!

Every time I order from here it’s so good and even every time I pass by I always go in for the samosas there outstanding Always fresh and tasty highly recommend 👍

Didn’t give me salad with samosas despite ordering this. Lamb pilau and Biryani were ok but rice could have been softer.

The delivery time just got pushed and there was no way to contact the store

Driver was not happy to deliver to flat and was hateful during delivery. I am working and cannot leave the desktop for long period. Even after clear instruction.

Got Nan bread from here took too long to get ready told me 10 minutes but took half a hour and it was very badly burnt

Ordered the shawarma in Naan and samosas with salad, the salad wasn't fresh and both the items arrived stone cold as if it was just taken out of a fridge. Disappointed, wouldn't recommend.

Nice food and good value for money. Very good collection of south asian sweets.

Their samosas gave me food poisoning. Typing this as i just finished vomiting and had explosive diarrhea

I ordered a birthday cake and provided a picture, a picture reference of the type of cream I wanted and colour as well as the spelling of my children’s names. By far the WORST cake I have ever seen in my life. The picture was cut at the sides and didn’t even fill up the cake, they didn’t follow the instructions on where to put the text and spelt my kid’s name wrong. The cream on the sides were meant to be red and they gave me this ugly peach colour?! Horrendous, I haven’t even tasted it yet and I’m disgusted already. Very disappointed, especially since they charged me £55!!! Absolutely ridiculous. Stay far far far away from this place.

Please don't buy things from here as its never fresh especially cake and samosas they are disgusting and not hygienic, there has been 3 times I've found hair in my daughters samosa and she's only 9 , once even found plastic, and the cakes are never fresh even if they say they are, there has been countless times when we've gotten cake and it was not at all fresh even though they said it was fresh, I can't believe this shop is still running, absolutely disgusting and should be shut down by food and health services 🤮

Samosa salad was not good! He says the samosa has been broken and mixed into the salad with sauces. But there was no pastry of the samosa in there. It just felt like i was eating a chana chaat with yogurt. So disappointing. On the other hand the gol gappa were amazing.

Bought a cake tonight for wee one’s birthday despite asking number of times he assured the cake is fresh and made today but it was not fresh the sponge of cake was rotten with fruit water. Spent £25 but was way back what was paid for. Would not recommend it.

Outstanding proper authentic Pakistani food!! Love it!

Perfect to take away, eat fresh or freeze instead of Billy's pan pizzas and such rubbish. The only thing you should do differently is to also offer stir-fries and simpler salads with your food, e.g. hummus, ajvar, tzatziki etc.

Seekh & Chapli Kebabs tasted nice as did the Chicken pasties.... I also had the Kashmiri (pink tea).....Next time will try out some of their curries & Asian sweets....you can pay by 💳 which is convenient

They have tasty main meal dishes (I have tried 5 of them), they're Samosa is good too.

Everywhere they advertise halwa Puri £4 on Sunday but they actually charge £5 even samosas on leaflets says 90P but they charge £1. Told them once to put cling film on samosas and other food but the owner(big fat guy) take it as personal and start justifying-just because he is the owner and always right. The hygiene is really bad overall in the shop, bins overflowing and no gloves etc There should be an expiry date display on all the items. Last time i had food poisoning from this shop, don’t try their lamn items, always stinks. Samosas are crispy and nice and overall the rates are quite good and cheap as compared to other shops but again i think twice before buying anything because i don’t know for how long tjey are sitting there. Owner should take the feedback seriously and improve it, he should not act like, he has opened a sweet shop on some remote village of south asia with no hygiene standard. Eventually someone will report it to food standards and he will lose his business and profit.

Amazing gateau. The right amount of sweetness. Fluffy and light cream and spongy melts in your mouth cake. One of the best I had with a very descent price. I was sampling because I want to order my son’s BD cake and I will def. order from here.

Food very good. But delivery time was shocking. I’m just putting it down to COP26.

Food never showed up unfortunately. Owner tried to locate driver but couldn’t. And no response from just eat. Had to cancel order. Pretty poor service overall.

The shop has range of Indian subcontinent sweets and savory snacks along with cream cake/pastries and small portions of biryani and other a la carte food items. They serve both veg and non-veg food items.

Quality & consistency has gone down in the process of developing the interior of the business. So is the hygiene. Most of the displayed food remains open on the counter which is about 10 feet away from one of the busiest road of Glasgow and also some of them not kept refrigerated. Food handler doesn’t use gloves neither are the food tongs sanitised and one is used for all, increasing the chances of cross contamination. Really disappointed at the process things has gone down in past year. I can understand the economy wasn't favourable for last one year but still customers can’t end up in hospitals because of the unfavourable economic situation....all you need is extra care, hygiene, healthy ingredients and correct storage. Sorry for putting this on. It can because of the new management which is not efficient as the previous one.... Good luck

Fantastic, fresh food Asian style

Still haven't got round to actually going to this shop, having heard great things from their customers.

Decent place but the birthday messages on the cakes can be a bit better and professional. Plus asking a customer what's wrong with my hair is a bit rude and not necessary.

Had forgotten to place an order for a cake for my girlfriend's birthday. I tried all the usual suspects and didn't find anything. I was returning home sad and defeated when I saw this place. Found a cake I thought she'd like (Ferrero Rocher). It was brilliant. We all loved it. And it wasn't too expensive either. Very happy with it and will definitely buy from them again.

Sweets shop that caters to majority Indian & Pakistani clientele. Wide selection of subcontinental sweets available (sold by weight). Usually some dairy & gluten free option available too ( the portly gent behind the counter can advise). For the un-initated i'd suggest getting a small box of mixed mithai. The choices vary every week so it can be a bit of a 420 adventure! They also do takeaway curries but these can be very greasy as Pakistani style cooking generally tends to be.

I was dying to try this place I wish I hadn't chicken curry was a tub off greece and the little chicken that was through it was all bones chicken pies wherent that good

Este no es un restaurante que está basado en una tradicional tienda de dulces en Pakistán o la India que sirve platos tradicionales y kalaupapa mithai puri en las mañanas de domingo. También han preparado en curry fuerte para llevar. Tienen chat, samosas y channa falooda kulfi. Es excelente para estudiantes o individual hombres o incluso familias no te apetece cocinar para recoger un desi curry y rotis tandoor para una comida en casa. El sabor era genial para todo lo que probamos y probamos de todo.

Carnes dulces y panadería asiática de calidad. Muy bonito y de calidad biryani. Son carnes dulces y panadería son muy diferentes de lo habitual que es ofrecer localmente.

Love this place, great sweets and more than that they have smosas, pakoras and excellent chat, cholay and dahi bhalay. They also have a selection of home tasting curries that you can take home and eat at any time kind of like catering, so its great for single people. This is a takeaway only place. They also serve puri, halwa and channa on Sundays only. Loved everything we have tried so far.

Great cakes and traditional sweets also excellent Currys try the great stuff here just like I did
