Doner & Gyros UK in Aylesbury Vale

Bought 4 meals, I asked for no tomatoes on 2 of them as I’m allergic, all meals came with mashed up tomatoes. Bought through UberEats. What I could taste was ok but I will not be using again as they can’t be trusted to follow instructions.

Last time I ordered from this place was 2020 November and it was consistently great since opening a few years back. I ordered again yesterday as it been a while since having a German style kebab and did not fancy GDK as I already had it multiple times before it opened in Aylesbury from another town. Plus wanted to show my loyalty giving them business over the new competition. My loyalty & decision however unfortunately was not to be a great one. When the food arrived I noticed something different as the waffle fries were in the a non branded package and actually they came piping hot, crispy and fresh so I was very happy with them as usually they would come soggy in the previous boxes. However what came next was where is went downhill. Opening the Classic Berlin Doner which was wrapped in foil, I noticed it no longer came in a branded box and instead wrapped. Upon opening the foil saw lots of salad kind of thrown in and not as fresh as I remember it looking, but what struck me was lots of grey, anaemic looking beef that tasted more like lamb from any old doner kebab place. It used to have much more color and caramelisation to it, not pale, grey and lacking any texture. In conclusion it was average, not terrible but went from being amazing to something you can find at any old kebab place. Yes they are still using the flatbreads and offer the same menu, but no branding a lack of finnese and execution is unfortunately probably the downfall of this restaurant. Also I noticed on phone i used to speak with much different sounding employees when placing an order. This time instead it was two Asian gentlemen who the first was not very helpful and sounded dejected when I asked for help with some missing items on Uber Eats. I have a feeling management changed hands since GDK opened in Aylesbury a few months back so I will probably just stick with them now unfortunately. A great restaurant/takeaway seemingly ruined by changes that took away what made it so great to begin with. Also just to clear things up the employees I spoke to on the phone were not rude in any way, just the first guy sounded like he did not want to be there and wish them all the luck going forward. Food was perfectly edible, just not what it used to be based on the experience I had with my takeaway hence an average rating which is sad to say. Whoever these new guys are, hopefully they can fix up and get back to what the restaurant once was and represent the brand better. Unfortunately though I have a feeling they already admitted defeat when GDK came into the town and would be surprised if they are still here within a year being brutally honest. When new competition comes in then this is definitely not what you want to do on the quality front, especially for long standing customers. What a shame....

We loved the service, Akhtar served us and gave us a very good service, the food is amazing and good price. Very recommended.

When it first opened it was easily, head and shoulders the best Kebab place for miles around. It was the nearest thing I have come across to the fantastic kebab and street food I used to enjoy when living in Germany. Now it seems to have been mis-managed into the floor so that it no longer even competes with the average non-descript meat on a stick joint. The kebabs are full of salad, not even thoughtful salad at that. I have seen the food prep area, the finished product, the packaging and the enthusiasm of the staff follow a path of gradual decline to somewhere between mediocre and poor. If it went back to how it was in the months after opening with the same ingredients and effort id sing its praise and be there every week, now i wouldn't consider it all.

Ordered online, went to collect only to find they were closed. The money for the order had been taken out of our account though! Avoid!

Ordered 3 so called kebabs looked like an elephant herd had ran over it ate it and s*** out disgusting and when I asked for a new one they ordered me to return them to receive my new ones if you like elephant s*** order here.

Not worth the price for the stingy portions they give. Portions have become smaller in recent months.

Title says it all really! We didn’t ask for any sauces and were expecting to be asked when we picked up. Got handed the kebab, took it home and found it drenched in something unpleasant (maybe mayo, maybe garlic yoghurt, but not something we wanted)

Mate ordered biggest thing on the menu and was like a kids meal. They try and pack everything out with salad and give you next a few slices of meat. Unreal. Will never go back!! Worst kebab in Aylesbury

Absolutely love the food from takeaway, it’s definitely a weekly regular as the food is fresh and tasty.My only gripe would be with those horrible polystyrene beige containers they insist on using for the chips and non kebab type foods... hate it when the plastic melts due to the food being too hot! Please change them and go back to the cardboard containers!

Great food with a load of variety bonus it’s halal. Limited spaces downstairs to dine in but have more upstairs

Absolutely delicious kebabs, unlike others I've tried. The ingredients taste extremely fresh. Berlin Doner is the one to go for, the blend of sauces is incredible, it's very filling, only downside is it can be a little messy because it's so jam packed. Superb though.

Wifey & I were at a loss for what to eat tonight so we thought we’d pat Doner & Gyros a visit.The man who served us was extremely pleasant, asked if it was our first visit , which it was, so he explained their menu.Wifey ordered a gyro meal and ordered the gyro platter.The cleanliness was very obvious as the server cleaned down after every order.Wifeys chicken gyro was very lean but sadly lacking in flavour as was my beef gyro platter.The quality was excellent, the service superb and the quantities about right. If they tweak the flavour profile and keep the meats a bit warmer the they have a winner. Will we go back again ? Yes, probably.

We were looking for a good kebab shop in Aylesbury and there were lots of good reviews on other sites so gave it a go. So glad we did - really good German/ Greek style kebabs. Salad super fresh - really enjoyed it. Had a great conversation with the guys in there whilst waiting about their various sauces, which they were happy for me to try. Next time in Aylesbury will be back. Good food, nice staff, it's all you need.

I recently went to Greece and this place strongly competes with the real deal. It is a favourite in our household as it is freshly made and tasty. The Berlin doner with mixed meat and all the sauces is really yummy. A must try.

Great food and brilliant service to match, we were given salad as a free extra and a smile and a chat! Can’t complain would definitely come again. Just wish it was open later on a Saturday night for the drunken pigs like me!

First time diner bought the Chicago diner meal very nicely cooked every fresh and the customer service was brilliant food came out hot and fast service
