We always Oder from this takeaway and the food has always been amazing until tonight, the food was oily and tasteless, I did phone them and tell them and they sent me a fresh one straight away but unfortunately still tasteless, thank you for the great customer service but the food for £33 just didn’t hit the spot for us, disappointed doesn’t even come close

Sometimes it can be too oily/tasteless but it’s an okay takeaway. Wouldn’t be my go to

Food excellent. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Unfortunately, it's more of a takeaway as they only have a few tables but don't let that put you off as the food is always great.....and not expensive. They don't have an alcohol licence, so you have to take your own. The Head Chef has been off due to illness for the past 4 weeks, but this hasn't affected the standard of the food. He's due back in a week or 2 though. Sometimes, they can over commit the kitchen with takeaways when there are people sitting in to eat.

No idea where people are getting these good reviews from. One reviewer saying best Indian in donny, are you mad?! Very poor quality, will not order from here again.

We ordered chicken dopiaza and chicken masala both dishes were extremely poor. Tough chicken and was no thickness to the sauces. We unfortunately didn’t enjoy our meals and after a few bites it went straight in the bin.

Horrible food quality.. thought to give it a go because of 20% off even with a discount it's not worth it so don't fall for it.. the curries were liquid and flavourless not many pieces of meat in them.. They know how to cook rice and naan bread and that's about it. If it were last restaurant in world I wouldn't order it.

Had a takeaway tonight ,food very very bland no Indian spice flavours at all both curry looked the same had a pickle tray one was just raw chopped onion with no added flavours for nearly 30 quid you expect better would not use again

Best Indian in Doncaster by a country mile. Can’t fault anything at all. Food ready for collection fairly promptly, great value meal for one person, fantastic portion sizes, amazing taste.

Coming from Wakefield finding a curry house that does amazing food has been hard.. but now I will go no where else, garlic chilli chicken is out standing , as is the service and price. Thank you. This is a small little place on copley road, but believe me the taste ,price and chefs and front of house are ot small, they are all great in every way.

Easily the best Indian I’ve had in Doncaster throughout the years. This will remain my go-to place now. Generous portion sizes, great value for money, friendly staff and able to collect food relatively quickly. Can’t pick any faults!

Had yet another glorious curry here last night, sayeed as warm and friendly as ever. Selected lamb jalfrezi, gobi sag and peshwari nan - delicious, and lamb so beautifully cooked. I travel a lot - best curry in UK in my view!

It's clear the ingredients are very fresh. Amazing quality and taste. I think this has to be my favourite Indian takeaway. Double thumbs up from all the family!!!

The 8 course banquet is a great opportunity to try new flavours at an affordable price. Murog Pakora is a lovely comfort food - tasty and filling. The Chicken Pathia was my main, and I wasn't disappointed - flavoursome and substantial.

So pleased that Russell has opened Tandoori following the closure of Doncaster tandoori. The food is excellent and Russell is always a great host. Always found it to be the best Indian/ Bangladeshi food in Doncaster

Visiting the UK from New York and stumbled across Tandoori after a boozy afternoon at Doncaster Racecourse on Saturday September 16th, 2023. I had a few hours to kill before my train back down to London so ordered Onion Bhaji, poppodums, Garlic Chilli Chicken, Garlic Rice, Saag Aloo & a Garlic Naan which were all top class. Couldn’t eat it fast enough to be honest & really enjoyed the food. Met some locals too who were great as was the service. I miss the warmth of Northern people in England. Would definitely visit again when I’m back in Doncaster & fully recommend to anyone - 9 out of 10 for me. Keep up the great work guys…..

I have come to rely on the Banquet for a high quality satisfying meal. The Chaat is a lovely starter and the Bombay potatoes made a filling accompaniment to the Dupiaza. If only the drink was chilled properly this would be sublime. Thank you, Tandoori.

Very good food, best Indian I’ve had in a while

Delicious, as always. I had the banquet - a crisp poppadom set the tone; the Murog-E-Dilruba was a tasty chicken and cheese starter; the Butter Chicken was well worth the extra 90p, being similar to my favourite Korma but rich and flavoured differently; and a garlic naan, aloo peas and pilau rice were perfect accompaniments. I would have preferred the drink to be colder, but that didn't detract from such a beautiful meal. Thank you.

Some. Was not expect has I thought would be nice and found hardly any meet in the. Currys. More sauce than owt.

We called in on the off chance for some takeaway food, however we decided to av popadoms and the pickle tray and a starter each inside at the small restaurant whilst waiting for our mains to be cooked to take home - the popadoms and pickle tray came first and instantly we could see it had been freshly prepared, the starters arrived pretty quickly and were very tasty, I had onion bargy my daughter had Chicken chatt which were both excellent. We took Madras and tikka masala home with rice, chips naan bread and we weren’t disappointed the meals were tasty and cooked to perfection - we will be back now we found they’re open again at new premises

The banquet is always delicious, and good value for money. Gulisthani Chicken is my new favourite - sweet, creamy and slightly spicy.

Never will I order again 7.50 for a kebab and chips for the portion to be so small my toddler wasn't even full and continued to eat our food

thank goodness they are back--its more like a cafe than a restaurant but take your own wine.first time at th enew premises so tried a take away--it was fabulous .Ive been persuading myself the taj cottage and zaras in tickhill were acceptable but realistically a very poor second best to the new tandoori on copley road

If you like the food this is a good place. Ignore the simple ambiance. Food is very tastefull. Excelent prepared.

We ordered a delivery from this Restaurant this evening. It was absolutely superb. We really couldn't fault it. Cheerful helpful people. Delivery very good. We will be ordering again when in Doncaster.

Please update the system promptly - the food was delivered 10 minutes before the app reported 'driver on its way' meaning I had to drop what I was doing and find the doorkey. Delicious food - I had the banquet, and thus had a 'side' that I would not normally choose; also, the Bangladeshi dish was a tasty departure for me.

Perfect meal again. Early too which was nice as I was hungry 😂 Had few currys from else where but this is the tasty and lovely meal.

Delicious food, with the emphasis on flavour rather than heat. The banquet is just right for a meal; I shall be ordering this again.

Everything was cold and the delivery driver don’t even use a real take away insulation bag he uses a shopping bag that’s why all the food is probably cold

We have returned to Tandoori having found out recently that Russell has reopened a restaurant. It was recommended by my friends and it was lovely to see Russell again after so many years! The service is still excellent and what I love is that personal touch. Russell spends time to talk to the customers and the food is still excellent as it was before. I shall definitely return here.

Great service food hot and very good quality

We’ve been using Tandoori and it’s previous incarnation, Doncaster Tandoori for over 20 years. The new, smaller restaurant at 78 Copley Road is now owned by Russell and the previous chef so much of the same great food. Our takeaway meal was delicious, fresh, hot and very reasonably priced. We’re so glad they stayed open, can’t recommended enough!

Not a great fan of warming up curry , not alot of flavour to the bombay potatoes and the curry was very watery

Had a takeaway last night best we have had since Doncaster Tandoori shut but thats not suprising as its the same chef and front of house. The flavours were great and the king tiger prawns really were king and chicken really tender . We will back.

Visiting from Southend and this place was highly recommended by a local. It’s a small casual style place off the beaten track but with a quick phone call they found us a table for 6 and we were lucky, the food was really fresh, incredibly tasty and plentiful. The service very friendly and helpful. It’s a small place with only a few tables and it,s a bring your own booze which was great! The food was definitely special. If you can get a table strongly recommended you give it a try……

Great little restaurant. Quality food for those who like proper Indian/Pakistani/Bangladeshi meals and who prefer authentic food to plush decoration and watered down tastes. Bring your own booze!

Great food. We arrived late on a Wednesday night as a party of five, visiting Doncaster from London. The staff sprung into action and prepared us a tasty, good-value meal, served with a smile — as we chatted away with friendly regular customers. Five stars !

Food was absolutely delicious - we found this place after a long day of filming and Sayeed kindly served us at 10.30pm! The curry was way better than any London curry I’ve ever had, and half the price. Will definitely be back when I’m next in the area

I have tried over 50 curry houses in the local and surrounding area, both eat in and take away, and Tandoori is by far my favourite. The chef is fantastic and the front of house is very accommodating and knowledgeable about the dishes on the menu. (Try the Pathia). Small venue so make sure you book in advance. 10/10

We have been quite alot since it been opened just two of us and a few times with just 4 of us also 6 of us also 10 and every time we have always enjoyed it .also when we have been in we have seen a table of 4 regulars coming in when we are going out .we have never any complaints Russell and the chefs are always friendly . If you want a drink fetch your own because they only do soft drinks and hot drinks

Been to Tandoori at the top of Copley Road in Doncaster Five people, nothing was to much for the owner and we all left very full and happy It came on a foodie’s recommendation and I would recommend again and again See you soon Cheers 🥘

Fantastic curry! I've been looking for a good Indian restaurant for a while now and this is definitely my favourite. We ordered a selection of starter, mains, rice, sides and Naan breads and everything was great! Plenty of meat in the curries. Would definitely recommend ordering from here. Also arrived super quick which is always a bonus

Not worth for the price, in the meat curry there was only three pieces of meat which I paid £9.50 for. Very disappointed, not recommended and I won’t order here again..

Great all round, no complaints

Always happen to try a new Indian place out and was very happy for the most part with this one! Firstly, the bad points. Sent Coke Zero instead of original Coca-Cola. I didn’t enjoy the saag aloo but it’s the first time I tried it and not something I’d usually order anyway so not that fussed. The pilau rice was very clumpy in parts but still edible. The good points. So nice to actually have an Indian with a meal deal for 1 person at an exceptional price as well for what you get! There is nowhere else that comes close in Doncaster for matching price and this is a big reason I’ll definitely be back. Poppadoms fine and all the sauces were great. Big tubs and a generous portion. Chicken pakora starter was great and the chicken tikka madras might be one of the best I’ve had. Absolutely perfect spice for me and the chicken very nice. Think they were bought in naan breads rather than freshly made but still they were very nice and a decent enough size. Delivery 15 mins early as well which was good. Will definitely try again soon!

Went last night with good anticipation ,but iam afraid the food wasn't great hardly any flavours the wifes sauce tasted same as mine even though we had two different dishes, garlic bread was flavourless seemed like the sauce was out of a bag just poured over the chicken ,the chef needs to sort ASAP

Called in "again" after our visit in 2018... we actually thought it was closed at first... there were no outside lights... anyway after a warm welcome we were treated to some great food.... it wasn't that busy but it was only 9pm when we went. The food was hot, tasty and the service good... I would defo recommend that you seek this place out if you fancy a nice curry... especially if you visit the pubs of the market place... its only a 2 mins walk away....

We ate onion bhaji, chicken chaat, chicken shashlick and mixed tandoori grill. It was perfect and the naan and rice too. The service was friendly, efficient and timely. The restaurant isn’t modern, with shiny lights and signage, but it is well worth a visit if you appreciate good, authentic food. We would definitely return.

Order a take away and was told when ordered it would be an hour, 2 hours later I phoned up to see where our order was to be told it would be an 20/30 minutes. Surprise surprise after waiting a further 50 minutes They phoned to say the ovens broke down earlier on and were sorry they lied but could get my order to my if I wait a further 30 minutes!!! Absolutely disgusting, especially to leave until most take outs were closed before been honest to us about our order!!!

Love this place, the staff are helpful and wether you eat in or take away the food is excellent value for money and good authentic Asian food, the drinks are reasonable though not a great selection, Doncaster Tandori as been in business now around 30 years so they must be doing something right, great for family's of all ages to meet up in pleasant surroundings.

Its a steady service as not many staff but that gives you time to chat. Food and menu are excellent. It is not in the centre of town but only 1 minutes walk from the Wool Market. The staff are friendly and attentive. Its not a trendy posh place but the atmosphere is heartwarming. Oh and its very reasonably price.

Myself and a mate thought we would have a curry before a show in Doncaster. The pickle tray came with five pickled which was great with the pompadoms. I opted for a rather disappointing spinach based curry, it was rather a pleasant flavoured main dish but I have to say it had zero spiciness or warmth. I thought the idea of a curry house was spicy and warmth so i was felt feeling dejected and betrayed by this dish. Service was good.

Arrive at Doncaster at the excellent railway station and straight away you are thrown into the hustle and bustle of the towns busy French gate Shopping centre (or the transport interchange) with its vast array of retail brands and eating places. Obviously all good towns need a good shopping centre and to be fair.... This is a good (ish) one. If you leave the safe confines of the French gate you are still within an area of relative prosperity. Still well known retail outlets (though as with all high streets not what it once was!).OK so far but now stray further away from the central hub and the shops deminish rapidly. Doncaster gains an air of neglect and unlovedness. As I say a town of two halfs. I think the new developments around the currently truly awful Waterdale area will not bring them together either. Perhaps then Doncaster will be instead a town of three thirds.
