Don Francisco y La Luna in Waltham Forest

On the tapas front, nothing to write home about. Good but nothing special, nothing you cannot make at home. Ingredients could have been better. Olives tasted cheap, bread was just bread -could have been from Lidl or Aldi. Now, the service was horrible. Rush, rush, rush, taking the order, rush, rush, rush, asking for empty plates. Unfriendly. No manners for a good customer experience. My lamb was delicious, but overall too expensive, too miserable the service! Not going back.

The food here is good though fairly expensive so we were excited to try their lunch time specials. We attended at 2.30pm one Friday and 11.45 on a later Saturday. Both times were told the restaurant was closed and made to feel very unwelcome. We're very unlikely to bother a third time If you're not really open please don't claim to be on your website

Thoroughly enjoyed our meal ,with a sharing platter and mix of tapas dishes, our first time here, and have to say it was pretty much perfect. All dishes were excellent, service was prompt and staff very friendly. Being a Saturday evening, we wondered if we would get a table, but as it was early ,it was fine . Highly recommended.

Lentils, who would have thought they could be so tasty and enjoyable!? Sorry about the picture, I have already eaten most of them, I was unable to stop myself, so tasty. I tried them before in this establishment with pesto, quite good, 9.5/10. The latest version I tried today with a hint of anise, is the best ever. I have ordered to take away too. Thanks again

We stumbled on this place whilst trying to find somewhere to eat in Walthamstow, after a day out, and were attracted by the outdoor tables, as it was a very warm evening. The food was authentically Spanish, and possibly the best tapas we’ve eaten outside Spain. Particularly recommend the beetroot, goat’s cheese and red onion salad. Our only criticism was that the sangria was somewhat watery, although it was packed with diced fruit and very refreshing on a warm evening. Will definitely return next time we’re in this part of London!

Friendly neighbourhood restaurant, good and varied menu, tasty and well executed, decent prices and affordable drinks. Good for a group which includes vegetarians, vegans, flexitarians and carnivores.

We've been visiting since it opened and it's one of our favourite places for either a family meal, night out with friends or just as a couple. Great wine selection and good quality tapas. Always have the chorizo in red wine, pork loin and the patron peppers. Have had paella a few times too which was great. Always lovely friendly service

The restaurant is a rather unassuming quaint place tucked away at the edge of Walthamstow High Street. The menu although varied is clearly over priced. Basic, cheapest house wine being £23 a bottle There should be more reasonable options available , So again overpriced . I have run 3 restaurants myself and the feel of this place was that it punches above its weight in its pricing , I would expect to be charged £7.50 to £8.00 per tapas in Covent Garden but not in Walthamstow . There were 4 of us having 3 tapas each , bottle of wine and 4 coffees . Bill came to £167.00 roughly aquaiting to £42 per head , really what should have been £30 to £35 per head maximum . The food is pleasant enough but not outstanding and certainly not for the price . Also 12.5% gratuity for a local high Street place is too much .Again , it isn't central london but the upselling feels similar . All in all it was OK but nothing to write home about . I left feeling a little hustled financially .

We moved to E17 just over a year ago and have only just found this gem so I feel compelled to write a review for anyone esp those living in the area who haven't eaten here. Utterly superb tapas and lovely staff. We've never eaten that close to St James and felt like we were on holiday. We had a table outside which was perfect in the current heat. Helped ourselves to loads of tapas which was all delicious. We will be back! If you haven't been yet go and support this brilliant local restaurant.

Such a shame as I had really been looking forward to visiting this restaurant. It had a nice atmosphere. I can only hope it was a bad day. Honestly some of the worst food I've ever eaten in a restaurant. Olives were straight out of the tin and tasted strongly of brine. Charcuterie had clearly been cut hours earlier as it had that horrible tinny flavour of meat that's been open too long. It was also ice cold. The cured tuna with anchovies was actually foul. And expensive. The patatas bravas were very sad. When the waitress took away our nearly full plates of food she asked if we didn't like it, to which we responded no we didn't. Nothing else was said. The wine we wanted wasn't available so we got upsold a more expensive bottle on the promise that it was similar but much better. It was sharp and nasty. You could practically taste the hangover as you drank it. Other people seem to think this place is great, so maybe I was just unlucky but I will not be returning to this restaurant.

Brilliant night out to celebrate Christmas with my girls! Service was brilliant and our waitress was particularly friendly and her great customer service throughout the evening made the Night what it was. Her knowledge of food was very impressive and all the recommended menu options were spot on! I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking to have a good night out amongst friendly people and lovely food!

Back again! I had a great evening with a group of friends last night. I think we had every single item from the menu plus all the daily specials, and we enjoyed them all! Pulpo still delicious, my favourite! They have an extensive wine list, and we truly enjoyed the ones we chose. Good selection as well of Spanish liqueurs and brandy. Service was attentive and efficient. Overall a great experience

This is local to us and we are frequent visitors. Excellent range of tapas options, always very well done. Service is friendly and efficient and cannot recommend highly enough. In normal times it is worth booking to avoid disappointment

We had an amazing Sunday lunch. Even though we just walked in without reservation we were able to get a table. The stand out fish was the seafood share board. It consisted of fresh, delicious seafood. We had mussels, jumbo prawns , octopus, sea bass, squid and small potatoes with salad. I loved every bite .

Went with my partner after being recommended by a friend, our waitress was very gentle, the food was very good, good portions for the price and the restaurant was quite cute! Defo would come back!

Very nice and welcoming staff even thou we were 45 minutes late on a busy Saturday night becouse of transport problem. We enjoyed all the dishes we ordered especially the croquettes with porcini albondigas, patata bravas and the almond cake. Lively and relaxing atmosphere, and look forward to return.

We ate in the restaurant before Covid-19 lockdown and now take advantage of their takeaway menu. Great variety of hot and cold dishes, conveniently packed separately. Quality of the food is outstanding, even without the restaurant atmosphere. A culinary delight for lockdown.
