Dolium in South Hams

A fantastic find in Kingswear, right by the steam railway , no need to cross to the busier side of Dartmouth. Great views and lovely simple Italian dishes

We popped in here on the off chance on our first day of our holiday and received a very warm welcome. We had a lovely meal of olives, cheese & pizza and the owner was friendly, helpful and attentive. Food was delicious and the restaurant is just a lovely and relaxing place to be. We hope to go back again before the end of our holiday!

Went there for dinner with my husband. A small but a nice place with good pizza and very friendly owner. Definitely recommend the place. Grazie mille! P.s. thanks for the cannoli, they were delicious ;)

We have been meaning to come here after noticing it a couple of years ago. A message on Facebook today spurred us into action. A cosy bar and restaurant with wonderful views over the river in pretty Kingswear. A warm welcome by the charming and engaging host. Very good pizzas on a light focaccia dough. Whilst I would prefer to pour lashings of olive oil on my pizza, that would have been dangerous on a wooden platter! Excellent coffee and range of quality wines. 🇬🇧🇳🇿

We been in a few times and it’s always a good atmosphere- there’s a great selection of wines and really tasty Italian meat and cheese tapas. Anthony always makes us feel really welcome and often suggests new wines for us to try. There’s also draught beers and cider now. It’s a fab place for a relaxing drink and bite to eat.

Super little hideaway in Kingswear, had a great evening in here with fab food, lovely owner and great wine. Shame there aren’t more places like this in Dartmouth and surround!!

Lovely, authentic little place in Kingswear , just up from the ferry and marina. Well worth a visit. Popped in for some food, and wine ! We were delighted with both and thoroughly enjoyed chatting with the owner. Appreciated his knowledge about food , wine and the the area. 5 star. We will be back.

What a perfect way to spend a rainy night in Kingswear being fed lovely Italian meats and cheeses, with excellent Italian Rose and with the added bonus of your lovely host Anthony. A truly joyful evening. So good we went back for lunch next day. Recoomend booking seat for best view of Dartmouth

Fabulous little place to visit. Wines of sublime quality with Anthony guiding you through their type and perfect match with the little platters of Italian yumminess. Meats,,cheese, bread, olives and tomato salad accompaniment. Highly recommend a visit. Quite an experience.

Wonderful wine bar, the owner made us feel really welcome and knowledgeable about the vast selection of wines on offer. The tapas style accompaniments were an added bonus

This wine bar houses incredible wines, top quality food and a charming, knowledgeable owner. The location is also amazing with views across the river. Treat yourself to a bottle of wine recommended by Anthony (the owner) and a selection of exquisite meat and cheeses. It doesn’t get more perfect than that.

Great intimate atmosphere and service, generous portions, eat / drink as much or little as you like (good format). Good view too.

We absolutely loved this place!! We stayed in Kingswear for 3 nights and ended up going here on our first and last night. The food is amazing - you have to order the cheese board, the wine is superb and the setting and view couldn’t be better. The owner was so lovely, he really made the place and we could of stayed chatting to him all night. We can’t wait to go back!

We were staying in Kingswear and there isn't a lot of choice for evening eating on that side of the river (opposite Dartmouth). However Dolium has added something new - a welcoming bistro, open most evenings, with a huge selection of Italian wines, some great antispasti, and a cosy feel. The cheese selection with walnuts and honey was excellent, as was the winter stew with bread. The service from Anthony and Elona was ultra-helpful and very friendly - they couldn't do enough to make sure we had everything we needed for an enjoyable evening. The view from the windows (we pre-booked) was fantastic - looking straight across the river to Dartmouth. We'll definitely be back the next time we are in Dartmouth or Kingswear

Poked to eat here while staying just up the road after reading the reviews. The Italian owner is a perfect host made good recommendation for wine, and we ended up trying several options from the menu. We were served the different choices gradually with no rush whatsoever and the food was excellent. Would highly recommend this place especially if you like smaller tasting plates as we do. We would definitely return on our next visit.

The Italian owner is very knowledgeable and took time to find out what wines we liked. To accompany the recommended Vesuvio red wine, we had a sharing meat platter and burrata. A lovely, relaxing evening, thank you

After a midweek walk through hoo down woods across kingswear we called in for a couple of drinks - Custoza a white wine and a few Sicilian beers we decided to go for the Italian cold meats together some lovely bread……All excellent . It’s a relatively small establishment run by Anthony who’s a very professional and attentive owner - not the last trip we will be making .

We found this tiny tapas restaurant by chance while staying in Kingswear, Devon recently. The owner, Anthony, is a super host and a genuine lover of great food, wine and music (as we discovered)! We were a group of 6 people (2 of whom were children) and the only ones there when we arrived. He made us feel relaxed and gave us excellent recommendations - the food and wine he suggested we pair it with was top quality and all delicious. My particular favourite was the creamy burrata. This is a real gem of a place and deifnitely worth getting the ferry across from Dartmouth as I don't believe there's any tapas of this quality across the water! But book ahead as it is small with limited covers and it got very busy by the time we left.

We popped in whilst exploring Kingswear and had the best service from the owner. He really went out of his way to make our lunch perfect. Would recommend. It is a small menu with authentic Italian food, wines and beers. We will definitely visit again.

Can't recommend highly enough - great owner introduced us to loads of excellent wine. We had such a good time we just can't keep coming back! Owwwwww

We visited when on holiday and found this place to be super. Great wine, great and friendly service and geat sharing platters. We'll be back.

Just by walk past, we were drawn in my this awesome Italian restaurant, cocktail and wine bar. Would highly recommend!

Kingswear is not overrun with eateries & Dolium was the only place serving food during our visit as one pub is closed & the other wasn't doing food at that time. It's an easy hop over to Dartmouth where there are loads of places to...

Small room but very pleasant ambience and service. Small menu, but good quality ingredients. Pleasant service. We shared a platter of carpaccio of beef, rocket salad and Parmesan shavings, fresh bread, lovely olives and good quality drizzling oil.
