I can't recommend this place enough (as an actual real-life person who goes there, and not a bizarre hateful bot) Great staff and food and drink (I would argue the Guinness is a little overpriced) but honestly, it's a great place and well worth a visit whenever you're around!

Lovely vibes and servers. I ordered the beef burger and it wasn’t the best… delicious crisps but there was oil in the bottom of the plate. I won’t order the burger again.

Good Craic!! Thursday early evening - dog friendly pub (shame my dog wasn't friendly!![sorry Connor]) But still the best pint of Guinness in Sheffield.

Outstanding pub with great ales and lager selection. Booked out a space for my 30th a few weeks ago and the service couldn't have been better. One of the best pubs in Sheffield

Wonderful staff. Great pints. I left my phone in the taxi and they were so helpful in getting it back for me as the dluber driver was ignoring my calls. Staff were so supportive and friendly. Will definitely be my local!

Incredibly rude staff. Allow children in, but when our little one was stood next to us while we were looking at the drinks on offer, he said in an aggressive manner that children were not allowed near the bar. Understandable, we moved as far away from the bar as possible so that we could actually still order a drink (it's not table service, it's bar service, so not quite sure how you can actually get a drink without leaving your children unsupervised, which I'm sure would also be frowned upon judging by their behaviour!) Didn't give us a second, he was snappy, he was short, he raised his voice. Shooed at my son like he was a dog. Plain rude. Had to explain to my three year old that he hadn't done anything wrong, he was upset asking why that man had shouted at him. We left and will not be back. Maybe you should change the sign outside which says 'no racists, no sexists, no fascists' to include 'no children' too! *Edit in reply to your comment. You asked once, not very nicely, and we moved. That wasn't far enough away and you immediately proceeded to be rude, snapping orders, rather than having a conversation to explain. I also never said you shouted at my son, I said you raised your voice at us. He felt you had shouted at him, which is a reflection of the unacceptable tone in which it was said since children take things at face value. You apologised to me outside when I pulled you up on your behaviour. Said you were hassled. To me that speaks volumes.

Great pub, decent selection of drinks, good atmosphere, generally busy when I've been but you get served quickly and staff take note of who's next. I've not eaten here.

Proper traditional pub, the Guinness was especially nice probably one of the best pints of Guinness I’ve had. The toilets have seen better days though, but it’s the same with every pub of its age.

Brilliant food and beer along with a truly exceptional group of staff. You will struggle to find a better pub in Sheffield. The beer is kept brilliantly and staff are always happy to recommend or help.

Great pub, beer fantastic and management and staff even better. One of the best pubs in Sheffield. Connor is a superb chef. Red hot wings great. Boxty his Nan would be very proud of. Anyone staying in the vicinity Leopold Square etc, should definitely visit.

I visited the Dog and Partridge tonight and wow what can I say I was met straight away with friendly service and a welcoming reception from some of the locals, Being not from Sheffield it’s always amazing to find a local, friendly place that allows you to join in with what’s going on. Tonight (Sunday) was open mic folk songs and there was around 10 musicians taking it in turn to play their choice of song. I can’t thank Sophie enough for giving us the best experience of what a real Sheffield local is all about.

I always used to go here after a long day in the office. I've been here recently since moving offices and employers and I have to say it's still a good place to wind down with others. The staff have always been welcoming and have good banter. It reminds me of a traditional Yorkshire pub which is rare these days. If you're in the area, pop in and have a cold beverage, it's worth it.

Big thanks to Matt & Sophie at the Dog & Partridge pub in Sheffield! I organised an immersive 24/Jack Bauer style experience for my friends hen with this pub as one of the stop offs, they were brilliant sports, got really involved, helped me out loads with the next clue for our treasure hunt, very hospitable and to top it off - amazing value for a great pint!!

Service was exceptional despite being busy! Had food and drinks, drinks selection is great with a good choice of cask and keg to choose from. The food was excellent for the money and the quality was top notch! Chips o’ doom are a must as well as the buffalo chicken wings! Had the burger special as well, the ‘bloody lovely’ which was great. Highly recommend and will be returning.

Guinness is out of this world (as good as nearby Fagan’s). Also Budvar on tap. Clean, traditional city centre boozer. UPDATE: Nipped in for a Guinness on a cold, wet December afternoon. The fire was on and the Guinness was as good as always.

Haven't visited this pub in a decade , glad to see it still going and will be back again soon! It's been scrubbed up a bit since. Enjoyed a game of darts and a few beers with friends . Lovley traditional Irish pub without the gimmicks.
