A nice little pub with a great selection of beers and ciders. Decor is really nice. Reminds me of how pubs used to be .

Don’t book a party here ! The most miserable unhelpful bar staff I have ever come across ! Moaning about taking up room at the bar Moaning about size of rounds Moaning about people in the way of door ways Don’t go to this pub unless you want to moaned at !!!!!

This pub does not deserve to stay in business after the treatment of his customers, so rude and judgemental, should go on a customer service course.

Only rated this pub as a one star so I could write a review I wouldn't even rate it as this. Wouldn't entertain spending any time or money here after how rude a male member of staff was to a group of friends who were there with their baby. They were asked to leave the pub at 6.30pm because in the staff members opinion a baby shouldn't be out at 6.30 at night! The friends were made to feel so uncomfortable they had to rush their drinks to get out. Don't call yourself a kid friendliness pub if you can't hack a bit of noise. Well done on your rating. Long may it continue.

The landlord is so rude. Had gone in with our baby and a few friends. After a while, our baby started to cry for a bottle, as we were getting it ready, he was hovering around us, glaring at us. She settled straight down but we went outside anyway incase she got upset again, didn’t want the dirty looks. She didn’t get upset again, but at 6:30, we got told we need to leave because “6:30 is far too late for a child to be here”. Wouldn’t bother.

We were basically kicked out because we had a baby. We were told to leave at half past 6 because we had a young child with us and he’s told us this at 6:35. Could’ve given us the time to finish our drinks that we paid for. We spent money, had food but service was disgusting. The baby started crying in the pub and he came wandering around where we were sitting which made us feel uncomfortable. There was 7 people putting money in his till and couldn’t even give us the time to finish our drinks that we paid for. Clearly weren’t welcome there because we weren’t ’locals’

Very friendly, efficient staff. Tables cleared of empty glasses efficiently even though they were very busy. Always clean and tidy. Good selection of drinks. Nice to go to a proper pub that doesn't serve food!!

Small free car park. It’s been a long time since I was in here and it has been refurbished. Real ales, lots of cider, and lager to chose from. Outdoor seating available No food available, however there was a Korean food van in the car park. Off the car park is full there is parking on the other side of the pub.

This public house deserves more than 5* landlord is always welcoming and knows his beers. Cask ales available as well as lager, cider, IPS's and pale ales. Lovely traditional pub that welcomes well behaved dogs. Couldn't recommend The Dog & Partridge enough.

Lovely pub. I first went for my 18th and it was great, with a very calm, relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Dog friendly too. Staff were welcoming and easy to have a laugh with.

Great local pub. Always have some interesting drinks on tap. Good atmosphere. Great in the summer for sitting outdoors in the beer garden. In the winter the fire is on, so it is lovely and warm and cosy.

Good choice of ales and ciders. Very comfortable,oldie worldly decor. The mirrors are fantastic.

Great bar, great variety of beers, lovely staff and locals. Well recommend visiting if you have the opportunity.

Great choice of beers on tap, tasted fresh and well maintained. Some lovely spirits available too - not just the usuals. Staff really friendly and good service. No food, just crisps and nuts as it should be! No kids after 7pm.

Very busy, friendly community pub with an excellent range of drinks. Gorgeous seating area outside, a real suntrap in the nice weather.

Come out for a couple of drinks never got to enjoy our time in the pub before being accused of putting something in our drinks even when he confronted us his attitude was disgusting from the start, we got made to feel very unwelcome and won't be going to that pub again. It's hard enough for someone with social anxiety to walk in to a busy pub as it is, you don't expect to be accused of something you've not done and shown up in front of other customers. We both firmly denied the actions he'd accused us of he just walked off and offered no apology at all.

A lovely pub a good feel to it they have good beer and spriits very friendly Avery good evening and good sitting outside in the summer time I will be going their again . 🙂

Stumbled a cross this little gem on the way back from Mowcop Castle. very large selection and beers and a very nice Pinapple Cider. the place was spotless and you can tell its been tended to everyday, I could not find a single item which hadn't been polished, dusted or otherwise looked after. very nice atmosphere with plenty of outside seating and parking. I will stumble this way again. some time I the future. Well worth a visit.

Use to frequent this pub a lot, me and my friends use to spend a lot of money in there. The place itself is lovely, and has been done up great. The problem is the Manager, Darren, he is the most rude, unwelcoming and miserable person I have ever had the displeasure to be served by, this is why we stopped going. Darren hates having to do anything, I get the impression he would be happy for the ace to just tick over and he have his regulars, ask for a drink that's not on the back and down the cella, except a tut, huff and look of disgust, got a big order, then expect the same and to be rushed and made to feel that you are an inconvenience. Poped in again yesterday after 2 years, nothing has changed if anything he's just got even more miserable, if I could give any advice to the owners it would be to recruit a new manager, as we willl not be returning untill that is the case

This is the worst pub I have been in years. Darren The landlord is the rudest man I have ever met in my life, never wonder the pub is empty. He was rude to my child. It’s an absolute joke. I do not recommend.

Love this place. Totally covid secure when visiting and strictly abided by. Very comfortable atmosphere and everyone is friendly. The range of specialist ales are great. Can't wait for it to open it's doors again. See you soon!

Excellent traditional pub, pre-lockdown probably most popular pub in North end of Stoke. Post-lockdown still a great venue. All local pubs doing a great job making the new normal bearable, but Daz & Nicola are really making an effort. Total contral of Covid rules, refitting seats to account for social distancing - pay a visit folks - book though, popular venue!

Ale is good but its very cliquey landlord is ignorant and bar staff slow to serve avoid

Not really my cup of tea. It doesn't feel like a cosy little pub that I prefer. The layout doesn't really allow for it, very narrow seating area at the bar end, then down some steps into a bigger space, but this feels cramped, particularly when live music on. Good selection of Gin if that's what you are into, but it isn't a pub that I would use a local as it feels like if you don't personally know the people that run it then it would take months for them to 'accept' you as a regular. Regular live events, once a month I believe so if you like a pub where you can listen to live music or spoken word poetry then it might be worth a visit. Nothing wrong with the place at all....just didn't have a nice, welcoming feel that would have put me at ease straight away and made me feel like I wanted to come back regularly.

Great pub, lovely decor and welcoming landlord. Guinness was of incredible quality, and at brilliant value. It's got a lovely saloon feel to it, and even an old beer barrel filled with water for the dogs, what a great touch. Highly recommended with 5 traditional ales and a trade cider on top of the wide range of lagers. Well worth a visit

I’d recommend the Grapes or the Chatterley if you’re looking for a relaxed night out with friends.. Lots of other pubs nearby that are open until appropriate closing time all whilst making you feel welcome at the same time! :)

Great Pub. Great landlord, landlady and staff.

Stunning Public House. Drank some of there massive variety of Gin, had a great time. Their lit fireplace creates the best atmosphere for enjoying a drink. Two large TV's with live sports on and resealable priced drinks means this is the place I come to drink at the weekends. Bar staff are efficient and friendly ... The pub itself is clean and organized place with my new favourite drink behind the bar, Black Tomato Gin. If you haven't been here I heavily recommend it, yet if you don't it's your loss. Great Pub 5/5
