I've been here several times in the last year, the latest being today. I have to say that it's a shadow of what it used to be when it was Heighley Gate Garden centre which sold an excellent selection of things you'd expect from a garden centre at reasonable prices and had a really good café serving really good food at reasonable prices. Quality and value for money are sadly a thing of the past here.

Biggest Dobbies I've been in, loads of different areas and products. It need a bit of refresh in some areas. Tons of parking. The cafe to the right of the tills inside is nicer than the one further round to the back - but the back one has around 4 tables with a decent view.

Very large garden centre, supplying many more ranges of products, not directly associated with gardens! Delighted to see a display of Christmas cards available on the 17th August! A reminder to start thinking about my annual Christmas letter!! Managed to find an attractive plant to give to our hosts for the day. If only Dobbies had some branches down south! Acres of free parking, which always helps!

I went to recycle pots.....no signage, had to ask three members of staff and eventual found a cardboard container “hidden” at the side of a shed, almost as far as you can get from the entrance!! Why not have the depository as you enter so you aren't left carrying what you want to recycle? I just wanted to leave by the time I'd found it, as I’d spent time looking for the recycle point that I’d otherwise have spent looking round the garden centre.

Pop in here at least once a month to have lunch and buy stuff for the garden. Good range of products in a nice environment you can potter around even when its a rainy day. However, today was really annoying as a dog yapped almost non-stop in the restaurant's designated dog friendly area. Then as we were leaving, after our lunch, it cocked its leg and peed on the wall of the ramp at the restaurant ''entrance''. Think we will start eating somewhere else!

Stopped at Debbie's on way from Longframlington, the restaurant is right at the back of the site, we decided to have the fish and chips with mushy peas, it took some time from ordering for the meal to arrive at our table, when it eventually arrived it was so disappointing. The fish was like cardboard very dry and looked as it had been under the heat lamps all day, the mushy peas were a solid lump of congealed peas. All in all a very disappointing £32 true value was less than half this. I will never go back there or any other Dobbies in the near future

Expensive but it is a garden centre. However, the worst part is the customer service from the staff. They are appalling. Whether you are buying garden stuff or using the food hall. They stand around in teams just chatting to each other. Last treat we went and spoke to a group in the ‘ help’ stand asked where something was , having first had to interrupt their conversation , only to be directed to the third aisle and on the right after the something or other. Not I’ll show you. And today went to buy some food only for it to be dragged across the conveyor belt which was covered in soil. She couldn’t be bothered to clean it down as she was chatting. Just rubbish customer service

Nice big well stocked garden centre. I went for breakfast, set off for the cafe, after many ,many miles via every part of the centre, hills and dales, we arrived many hours later. We joined a queue. After 15 minutes it transpired that it was the 'sandwich ' queue, not the hot food queue. We joined the hot food queue. We were now too late for breakfast. Ordered what we could see was ready, in the trays . Paid after joining another queue at the till, where you also order beverages. All very complicated, people jumping from one to another, apologies to each other for ' jumping' etc. Got a flag with a number. Sat at table. 15minutes later the food arrived, despite it already being cooked and visible in trays at the counter. Can't fault the polite staff, but system is shockingly bad when busy, I've been in here on quiet days and it's fine. Open a door at the cafe so you can enter without walking entire centre, and revise the serving system. Nice food though!

But I didn't have a choice as I have a toddler and a baby in a papoose. Obviously my toddler needed to the toilet while there and I was disgusted, the baby change toilet was so dirty, I would not want to change my babys nappy in there and the ladies toilet was even worse. Wet floors and toilet paper everywhere. No soap and generally dirty, the ones near the soft play are no better either. Dreadful experience. Again. We came for Mothers day and it was awful. We gave it another chance today but once again were completely ddisappointed. The lady sat behind us was a member of staff and we overheard her saying everything is precooked and they just shove it in the microwave. I can confirm that the lukewarm food wasn't even reheated properly. Roasties were so rubbery I struggled to cut them up! The trio of meat was barely a sliver and it seems that even though we arrived and ordered a good 20 minutes before the lady behind us, she got preferential treatment and was served before us!! The Snowy Owl will not be getting anymore chances and we will be sure to spread the word - avoid at all costs!
