Dixy Chicken in Newham

Went here the other day and the owner knows I'm a regular, yet still gave me wings that were hard and had been in the hot cabinet for a number of hours. There was no tissue in the bag. I always go back after being disappointed as they are HMC but I will now completely stop.

My expectations for chicken shops aren’t high, but the chicken from here was dry and the chips refried. Wings were ok.

I’m not happy with the service I received. I didn’t receive my order. Contacted just eat they said it what delivered. I still have the code where the delivery driver didn’t turn up to even take the number. I’m going to dispute this further

The owner is rude and has anger issues. You should avoid sending your wife or sister to this place. Lastly, the food is not remarkable. A similar standard of food is available at cheaper prices from a number of other places within walking distance e.g Banjos.

Good food! Loved the fried chicken wings n the garlic bread. Would recommend it!

yummy yummy yummy burger i love it so much mmmm i will order more burger. sauce is not as yummy but i dont care because the chicken is so perfectly seasoned it doesnt need sauce. its crispy juicy and delicious. whoever the chef is i love them. tell them to keep working hard and making yummy chicken

Missing items in the order didn't receive half my food unhappy with the order and everything about it

Food was cold, but it was good, the supreme chicken fillet will get 5 stars from me, the pizza 4 stars and the chicken 3 stars mainly because it arrived cold

The food here is decent, and I would recommend it if you’re looking for a quick bite. However, my experience today left me deeply disappointed. I politely suggested to the two guys that served us that they consider offering drinks from Muslim-owned brands or those not supporting a gen0cide, like Barr Cola and Salaam Cola, as an alternative to those from companies linked to supporting the oppression of our Palestinian brothers and sisters, such as Pepsi. Unfortunately, the two staff members serving us became visibly offended and defensive. Rather than taking the suggestion on board, they attempted to justify their choices by claiming that other businesses sell the same products, and even mentioned that the local masjid imam (assuming they were referring to the imam of Masjid Bilal & Islamic Centre which is situated opposite the Dixy’s shop) buys and consumes them without any issue. They went so far as to accuse the broader Muslim community of indirectly supporting these products, implying that their actions were somehow justified. It’s disheartening to see such a lack of awareness and accountability, especially when it comes to a cause so close to home for many. Their dismissive attitude and lack of empathy made me question where their sense of honour lies. Would they react the same if their own families were affected? Shameful!

Food wasn’t all that, burger bun tasted sweet and coating on the strips had all come off. Won’t be ordering again. Aldo delivery time took ages and kept changing.

I did not receive any items I paid for! received a wrong small order with nothing i ordered! driver said to contact just eat!! I called restaurant told them have sent wrong order and was told they will resend my order to me.. an hour later I called dixy just to have the same guy be extremely rude and aggressive he told me the food is not coming and no refund so having to complain to just eat now for my money back!!.. AVOID THIS PLACE its not the first time problem with this place.

Horrible tight workers, even offering only one napkin for 3 meals. Expensive too. But the wings and chips taste bloody good.

This place was one of my favourites, but now it’s one of the worst. I think it’s under new management because it is absolutely disgusting now. Unfortunately, the food was the worst food I’ve ever had from a takeaway.

The best burger and chips ive ever had in my whole entire life. And they gave me a extra set of chips and extra wings. And the food was still hot. Absolutely amazing

NO ORDER DELIVERED. Dixy called me as the driver arrived and asked to send the driver back because they sent him with the wrong order and only realised when they took my pizza out of the oven. The driver had cycled all the way here and didn’t know what to do in this situation. I felt very bad for him because he spoke limited English. I called the restaurant back to ask when I’d get my order and they told me to reorder and get my money back from just eat. 😒 just what you need when you have a migraine, more screen time and stress.

Fish burger had a ton of Mayo on either side which made the burger slip around and the fish kept falling out making a huge mayo mess. Chips were undercooked this time. Drink was room temperature not chilled at all, no moisture on it. Wings were good.

Food was all freshly made how ever the expensive quarter pounder burger had no pickles, no onions and no tomato as it is advertised to have all 3 in. There was also half a slice of cheese in it instead of a slice of cheese. Everything else was on point. Great chilli sauce.

Food is from last week and also didn’t receive half the food I ordered. When I went back to let the guy know he forgot to put my burgers in the bag he told me it’s my own problem… Worst experience ever

Wings and bites were good but chicken coating; as usual; was soggy and beige instead of crispy and golden brown. Missing a chicken strip in the combo meal. Thanks for the sauce. I don’t know if they’ve changed their chilli sauce brand or just watered it down by adding white vinegar but it’s more runny and vinegary in taste. I’ll just be sticking to wings and strips here.

My drink was wasted was so flat no taste and chicken was cold and dry

Went there after a few years to see if there have been any improvements. The wings had a horrific taste. The taste that the chicken was rotting away before they decided to cook it. Luckily the smell put me off before I can I put it in my month. Will never be returning here again.

This place….. What can I say, I have been to countless chicken shop in the UK, Asian ones and non Asian ones. This one is Asian, and I’m Asian myself and I hate to admit that these guys service are slow. Every time just single normal fillet burger meal takes 15-20mins. And you can also tell those guys are not trained for customer service, not too different than street rats. Also, oh my days, people please try open that door of the shop, and see how stupidly hard it is to open lol. It’s almost like they designed it to prevent customers to come in which is still stupid. I will not lie, the chicken is of good quality, but honestly the slow service and that damned sticky door encourages you to go to try other chicken places around East Ham. There are so many chicken shop around, give em a go I’d say

Ordered peri strips meal. No chips or drink

Chicken tasted like rubber didn't get the pieces i asked for and all the sauces was spilled inside the bag so the hot sauce went all over my kids food

Hmm love this dixy delicious as usual the grilled wings burger wer yummy however just a few minor things like the chicken pieces being a bit dry and just today the wings seemed a little different than usual.

Everything was messed up. Pizza box was squashed, ketchup and that was leaked in the bag and the fries were cold.

Chicken in the burger and snack pack piece were underdone (pink), the coating wasn’t even brown, it was beige. Delivery within 20mins of ordering, but I prefer well cooked chicken as anyone else. Chilli sauce pot had popped open and seeped under the boxes of food, messy lunch. Wings were the best as always.

Hot and tasty food. Nothing like the old fashioned Dixy chicken and their iconic chilli sauce. This time unfortunately there was a very thin fillet in the chicken fillet burger. Less than half thin but I wasn’t that hungry, so it was okay for me but it’s no excuse for their end.

Delivery time was impeccable. From the burger to the fries and the bites to the famous chilli sauce, it was fresh and delicious. However.…wings were tiny this time round, didn’t even get a couple extra to make up for the tininess slightly disappointed but they still tasted good. Thank you for cooking the chicken well not like the undercooked chicken from the eastham station branch.

Every time I’ve ordered from here they put cold drinks in the same bag with food and food comes stone cold. Also food is mediocre wraps look like someone’s 4 year old makes them wings don’t taste like other Dixie’s the batter has a powdery texture instead of crunch. Would only recommend if you want to eat quick cheap and cold (I’ve ordered from here multiple times and every time hope it don’t come cold they have never failed to deliver cold food)

Chicken wings were smashed, and lots of paper inside wings, chips were undercooked , chicken fillet burger to greasy, only apple pie was manageable to eat. Disappointed, especially then I used my stamp discount points, and that's what I get.

First it said 8:40-8:50. It then changed to 9pm and then kept changing. The driving turned up at 9:25pm and I placed my order at 8:17pm. The food came so cold the chips. Normally I never have an issue with Dixy! It’s always so good, today was just so bad!

Chicken had an awful after taste couldn't eat it....

More than 3 hours late, no indication on when the food will arrive when asked to cancel the order the restaurant refused to cancel it and it was a children’s party. The children were starving had to go out and get food from elsewhere and they left by the time this food arrived. What was meant to be a nice Sunday turned incredibly stressful.

Everything tasted old, no flavour no fresh items, the beans were glass cold couldn’t even take it. The bucket meal was just full of old chicken and the chips were stale. I would not recommend anyone to order from this shop. You will regret it for sure
