Popped in for a couple of portions of chips. Unfortunately on opening the box of chips we discovered that although they tasted ok they were completely dried out, must have sat for ages. Very disappointed.

We visit every summer and cannot leave without having a mini fish and chips each! We take it to picnic on in a quiet spot and it is fabulous! Great, friendly service too. Wonderful crispy meaty fish😁

Best fish and chips in ages. Perfectly cooked and best tasting chips I’ve had in years. Pity it’ll be a long time before I’m here again.

I, on the other hand work hard for my money and this is 5 hours pay to me. dreadful, just dreadful. however hungry you are, dont waste your time and money.

Well when they say large fish and chips they do mean it. Proper chips and well cooked fish and in my opinion at a reasonable price

Places to sit inside and out at the Anwick gardens. OK fish and chips. But served in takeaway carton even iiinside!

I had lunch here , and chose to sit inside as it was a bit chilly outside! Gets very busy in summer though, and there are plenty of tables outside. Everything is served in take away containers, even if you sit inside. The fish and chips were OK, decent sized portions and hot, but it always pains me to have to pay extra for sauces!

I would love to offer big kudos for using beef dripping, this should taste fantastic.... unfortunately it doesn't. On the occasions that they've actually been open the chips have been what other establishments describe as scraps. Far better to walk a few yards into town and go to Jobsons or Carlos.Oh and don't expect an answer if you call, it's an automated system claiming that the garden are shut until Feb even though they're still open.

They use beef dripping so we couldn't even eat the chips. You have to get to the front of the queue before being able to read the notice to that effect though. It's amazing that they don't realize that they're losing customers because of this backward-looking policy,

It pains me to leave a bad review, especially for somewhere as special to us as Alnwick Gardens. Have eaten at other venues within the Castle and Gardens and always been delighted but my advice for the fish shop would be avoid! Expensive! 2x Mini fish and chips, fish cake and chips, drinks and ketchup over £25! Inside the restaurant was full so had to sit outside in October and it was freezing! The table we managed to get after waiting was dirty with lots of spilt food underneath it! We had to wait for the food to be cooked then had to return some as the order was wrong and the fish cake was disgusting! There are lots of beautiful places to eat in Alnwick Castle and Gardens...My advice ... try one of the others and give this a miss!

I'll start the review by saying that the fish and chips here are excellent but service lets this place down. This is the 2nd time in the last four weeks where the fryers have not been working properly and chaos ensues. It doesn't start serving till 12:30 which in itself is strange but then with the fryer issue we waited nearly 40 minutes and in the end asked for our money back. Place was heaving so I dread to think how much money they lost yesterday!

We tried the Dishy Fishy Shop on our visit to the Alnwick Castle. The one piece fish and chips was huge and tasty. We enjoyed the fries and the fish. The restaurant was busy and it was hard to for staff to clean tables and some patrons didn't get the fact that you should take your garbage to the trash when you are done. Service was quite fast despite the crowds. We did not realize there was a lovely lunch counter inside the gardens which would have also been a good option for a lighter lunch.

The Dishy Fishy chip shop is situated inside the Alnwick Garden, but not through the entry gates, and so you do not need a garden pass to get to it.

The prices are reasonable, especially for being a concession in an attraction (Alnwick Castle and Gardens). The wait was rather long for our freshly cooked fish, but it was worth it. The fish was fresh, crispy, and cooked perfectly. The portions are also quite generous.

We ate here having failed to find anywhere to eat ou at 7pm during August in Alnwick. This Take away and eat in Cafe was busy but still managed to serve us quickly and with great customer service at a clean table by the window? The prices were good value for money and we enjoyed very fresh haddock. Thank you for looking after us so well!

Good portions, decent prices and extremely tasty fish and chips. Only downside was having to wait for 12pm prompt in order to purchase even though the food was clearly ready and the staff were standing around.

they are fast, but can get overwhelmed with large bus groups. Fish is HOT and delicious, and fries/chips are yummy, but please order & pay for your tartar or ketchup sauces when you place your order. It'll cost you either way.

Scrumptious Fish 'n' Chips eaten Al fresco in the sunshine, what more could one want for lunch. On our visit to Alnwick Gardens, this is exactly what we did, all four of us ordering small fish 'n' chips, heaven knows what the large one was like! All young staff, I imagine students, but all very efficient and friendly as it was extremely busy at 12 noon. Certainly we all agreed both fish and chips cooked to perfection, and none of your 'soggy' batter, very crispy and very enjoyable, yummy!

Normally spot on but really disappointed with tonight's order, parmo was just chicken with a bit cheese on top and smelt weird couldn't eat it and my son said the chicken in his hungry box was soggy and horrible!

I am updating this review from a number of years ago when I said this store was hit or miss. Since then this branch has catapulted to the top of the list when it comes to McDonalds in the immediate area (Cramlington and Blyth) and is the only branch I trust to get the order right. As the store is currently closed for renovations, I am waiting until it reopens before tucking into another McDonalds meal.

Absolutely the worst McDonald’s I’ve ever been to. They prioritise the delivery orders over people standing right in front them and they never seem to turn off the machines so they can cope with the demand. Will actively avoid this restaurant from now on.
