Diplu's Original Indian Brasserie in Neath Port Talbot

Discovered this place tonight and ordered for the first time. Food was beautiful and delivery on time. Chicken tikka kebab and chutney tray were particularly speacial. Very impressed and will be back.

Very decent owner, very polite and attentive, food was incredible . I had the chicken naga with garlic rice and a naan bread, was excellent. Strongly recommended.

Absolutely amazing dining experience here at dawats love the fact that nothing is too much trouble for the staff here including the chef. The food is top quality so tasty and quick service always leave feeling full and satisfied. The staff are super friendly and indulgent while working hard to make sure your dining experience is enjoyable. The atmosphere is lovely as is the decor and ambiance 10/10 would recommend and ask the staff if you are unsure of what to eat they have some fantastic suggestions.

Had a takeaway after a long journey home by train. Will be honest wasn't my furst choice as I had not been impressed before -I am now ! Lovely tasty food balti and kebab a real stand out . Excellent delivery service friendly driver . I will most definitely use again

Amazing food. We actually ate here yesterday, the food was so good we had it again the day after. Takeaway both times, but the food was really nice. Very consistent. The madras is genuinely hot. I like hot and it was warm for me! The staff are really lovely too. You can tell the place was established in the 70s, as the experience really shines through in the food quality and customer service 👍 I genuinely think you will struggle to find a better Indian in the area. I have tried many others, but it would be extremely difficult to beat the quality here.

We walked in for dinner around 7pm on a Friday based on good reviews and the restaurant was completely empty. That said, a large group of young men came in after we'd ordered. Service was fine, but after enjoying our poppadoms the experience left a lot to be desired. The butter chicken was quite sweet and coconutty, more like a korma. It was also swimming in sauce as you can see in the picture. The half chicken tandoori looked like a showstopper when it came out of the kitchen, but was dry and flavourless. The chicken jalfrezi was far too spicy (I love spice). It seems like this restaurant has been a local favourite in the past, maybe we picked the wrong menu items but this didn't seem like authentic curry and we won't be returning unfortunately.

Just ate at this restaurant. Called in off the motorway on an off chance……wow! What amazing food & cobra beer a must with a curry. The young lad behind the bar was so welcome and very switched on. All the people in there were lovely. What a find, definitely come to this place. Much nicer than the services any day. Thank you 😊

Literally couldn't fault this place. Popped in 2wk after they opened as we stumbled past having diverted off the motorway. Actually arrived 15min before they opened. Really accommodating. Great food. Young fella who served us was frickin hilarious. Top experience.

Work at this place delivery driver and things I seen that cos on in kitchen is appalling rice is pre cook then warm in microwave chicken and meats all open on counter and floor mints sauce and dips not fresh stuck in fridge for weeks owner smokes in restaurant

What has happened to my favourite Indian restaurant? Ray the boss has gone and so it seems have a lot of other things. The portion sizes are smaller, the menu has shrunk to the basics, the spice has almost disappeared from the curries. I ordered a Jalfrezi tonight which is usually medium hot but this one was just mild and bland. The rice was only half a portion in the tub. If it was just one of us that felt that things had gone downhill then maybe fair enough but all of 3 of us who ordered were very disappointed to say the least. I won’t be returning and I’m sad about that as I like supporting local businesses but this Indian has lost its way big time. Time for a rethink please guys

First time to try and will definitley return. Really friendly, swift service and amazing food. Free chutney tray and popadoms were appreciated and the chilli and mint sauces were to die for. Overall it was so nice that I forgot to take a pic and devoured it instantly :).

Just had a meal in Dawat Indian restaurant, what a brilliant meal, the portions are massive ( brought home a doggy bag that'll last me for breakfast dinner and tea). They really looked after the 4 of us, I really hope that they continue to always have the same atmosphere in the future. You got to try this Indian. Thanks for a great night Dawat. Tasteless Tikka. Hard and inedible chicken. Curry sauce floating in oil. Avoid if you want good food. Don't believe the reviews, they are for the previous owner of Diplus.

The dawat owners have taken over from Diplus. How lucky are we. The food is delicious. Great selection. My son had the Indian style burger. And he is fussy. He loved it. The food after three takeaways has gotten better and better. Very reasonable prices. Great value for money. Can't wait to have a sit down. And they are BYO. Happy days. I base an Indian on their onion bahjis. They are amazing. Even ordered extra ones this time. Highly recommended.

I eat a lot of curry but believe me, this is probably the best curry I've had in the 45 years that I have been visiting various restaurants. Also the service was amazing.

Whilst visiting family in port Talbot we decided on eating here based on reviews read online. We were not disappointed , the food was tasty, plentiful and very well presented, one of our party is vegetarian as they gave allergies to dairy products so asked the waitress for some recommendations, they recommended a dupiaza which didn’t disappoint. The restaurant is clean, staff very attentive and the atmosphere very pleasant. We will return here on our next visit.

Stunning takeaway. Saag rice, saag Aloo, Chicken Jalfrezi, Garlic & Coriander naan, Chicken Tikka kebab. Full of flavour. Ready on collection. Always polite,helpful and friendly staff.

That was the worst Indian food I've had. I ordered chicken tikka massala mushroom rice keema nan and prawn cocktail starter. The prawn cocktail was, well a lettuce cocktail not many prawns. The rice and tikka was a plate of slop all runny and tasted like a bad rice pudding. That's the last time I spend my money there wish i had stuck to my usiall Elatchi express. Best indian in town. Diplu's is one of our favourite Indian restaurants. My partner and I booked a table for Valentine's night. The restaurant is tastefully decorated and they have lovely traditional music in the background. The staff are very courteous and welcoming. Once sat at the table, which was decorated with a sprinkle of red glitter hearts, we were given free champagne. We had chicken saag, lamb biryani, lamb madras and keema naan. Thoroughly enjoyed and will definitely be back soon. Many thanks

Yeah.. Thats one thing you surely gone try for vegans. .. It's deliciously.. Not much option available considering the menu and budgeted restaurant for dinner and lunch surely.. Indian cuisine is good worthy of a try. . A little conjusted place to move when it's packed with people..

First time visit and had a fabulous Sunday buffet here. Although not a huge choice everything was attractive and very tasty. Nice decor and friendly staff too. Will definatately return.

Our first visit to this local Indian Restaurant in Port Talbot impressed us so much, we had to write a review...Nicely decorated, great atmosphere and impeccably clean. When the food arrived it was piping hot, with amazing authentic Indian flavours and colours. It would be hard to find another Indian Restaurant locally with this level of quality, service and ambience.After paying the bill, we were offered a private taxi service for our journey home, which is operated by one of the staff. Not your normal taxi...a brand new immaculate car with leather interior and reasonable rates. We would highly recommend this restaurant, even if you live outside Port Talbot as it is literally just off the M4 Junction 40, if you prefer to drive. Looking forward to our return visit!

Well, I'm certainly glad I booked a table here. From the moment we walked in we were looked after. Shown to our seats and offered a drink straight away. Very comprehensive menu with something for everyone. Fantastic starters and superbly cooked main meal. Generous portions to the point that we could not eat our dessert, however it was suggested we take them home with us, which we did. Very friendly staff, reasonably priced and an overall pleasant experience. I will return.

Visited on a quiet Wednesday evening and took advantage of the special offer banquet night. Service was excellent as was the food which was among the best curry we've eaten. Staff were friendly and efficient. Well worth a visit!

Visit here regularly and never disappointed - Front of House are Fab and food always exceptional...Can really recommend the King Prawn Biryani and Momo Chicken (lovely blend of spices and almond). Service is faultless, if you have any special requirements, just speak to them.

The welcome, the food, the friendly staff, who go to great lengths to talk to us and explain the menu, they seemed to genuinely care about whether or not we were having a good time, we couldn't fault anything. The food is tasty and plentiful and it’s the only Indian restaurant we know with a great cocktail menu. Head and shoulders above all the rest.

Immediate welcome!! Warm atmosphere! There is no where in the immediate vicinity to equal this restaurant. In fact I would include Swansea and Cardiff. I have also eaten in Asian restaurants Birmingham and London and really this is so consist it is hard to beat!!

Eight of us were dining, and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Staff very friendly and go out of their way for you. We all had a starters, and everyone enjoyed. Main meals were beautiful, well prepared and presented and very tasty. I had keema rice and chicken Jalfrazi, which was lovely and spicy, just as it should be. The onion bhajee's are a 'must have', and the Keema Naan was beautiful. We also had pompadums before our meal which I would also recommend. We had a lovely evening with lovely food and will definitely be going back.

Just had a meal from here was really looking forward to it as we don't eat out as a rule Worst Indian food no taste to it like water rice was like it just came out the fridge I had garlic mushrooms they were like tin mushrooms in water forgot the garlic the lamb balti no taste to it at all and the tandoori mixed grill well the seasoning was like it was old out of date lost it's taste to it wouldn't eat from here again

Wow. From the moment we walked through the door we knew we were in for a treat. The customer service was wonderful, the whole place is clean and well looked after, the staff were attentive and friendly and the food was.... well, the food was exceptional. Fresh, fragrant and very tasty, not a trace of the usual generic curry sauce so often served. I would highly recommend the sizzling king prawns!! They were the size of my hand!

Fantastic Indian restaurant followed with just as good costumer services all for a fair price. Perfect for family outings, date nights, business meetings and for those who prefer to stay in, they also offer a take out service.

I have visited Diplu's on a number of occasions to eat in the restaurant, and to take away. In my experience, the food is always consistent, well presented and of a high standard. The staff here are very nice, kind and courteous, visited with my young children recently for a birthday celebration and staff were very accommodating, the children enjoyed it. Prices are good, you get value for money. There are two promotiinal evenings, which are Sunday and Wednesday, which are even better value. Worth a visit.

This is our absolute favourite restaurant and takeaway. We usually order a curry takeaway from here at least once a month. When we feel like a bit of a splurge we book a table to eat in at the restaurant. We have eaten at quite a few Indian restaurants and not just in Port Talbot but this place is by far our favourite. The food is always delicious, excellent service, and lovely staff. If you have never been there give it a go, you wont be disappointed.

Called in when I was working down there, Sunday night ordered chicken tikka and peshwari nan, and a starter when I got the tikka there was very little chicken, mostly onions and a tiny peshwari nan, also there wasn't much taste off the chicken, it hadn't been marinated, as that makes it much more tasty, next time when down there, I'll try somewhere else

Used to go Diplus years ago and hadn't been for a long while. Went on a weekday evening with our two kids. Restaurant is very nicely decorated and the staff are very attentive but unobtrusive. My wife and I ordered off the chefs special menu and both dishes were superb. The chef must be top notch because the food was very different to the bog standard curry's you get elsewhere and showed a real flair for presentation and flavour. We stayed about two hours having a starter mains and Deserts along with several drinks. A wonderful evening and can't wait to go back. I hope their reputation spreads as they deserve to be a lot busier. Best Indian in Neath Port Talbot bar none!

Quality food and service. Go there once a week at least and never ever disappoints. Great menu to choose from and nice wine and gin selection.
