Dining Oriental in North Down

Avoid avoid avoid. I ordered beef chow mein. I don't know where they source the meat but one mouthful and that was enough. No sauce with the noodles a very dry. I ordered a small chip and was charged £3.50 for it ... It was a normal sized chip and very greasy. All went into the bin complete waste of money.Place didn't look clean and could see into kitchen and it didn't look clean either. In hindsight I should have canceled my order. Oh and they only do cash. But the food was the worst I have eaten in a long time. avoid avoid avoid.

We have used this takeaway for years now and the food is great. Their Garlic butter chips are delicious and their curry sauce is very tasty! Don’t get me wrong I have had one or two issues over the 7/8 years I’ve been going to them but overall this has been a tiny fraction and I’m a very regular customer. Also recommend their salt chilli chicken or salt chilli smoked chicken. I regularly bring my friends here and they are always complimentary about the food.

I tried this place again having sworn I would not return after my last visit a few years ago and I am sorry to say the food has not improved. The prawn red Thai curry sauce looked like red tomato soup and had a similar consistency and it tasted sugary. There was nothing pleasant about it so I put it in the a bad cook could produce something much better. Save your money.

I wanted Just a simple take away chicken curry with chips but not a full portion. Like a special kind of portion (had many a special at Chinese take aways) this was ridiculous. The thinnest box ever seen with mostly chips bit of curry sauce and remaining contents onion and approximately three bits of chicken. £5.20!!! It really wouldn’t even have been a quarter of a normal portion. I have used this place a good bit over the years but not for a year or so. Given this experience and the ignorance from the staff owner/cashier as she counted her many notes while barking cash only… don’t think I’ll be back. I did say to her after I had eaten it that it was very small. I was informed there is 3 sizes of boxes that being the smallest. Also a full Portion is £7.70. With a big box of chicken and separate chips. Lesson learnt, I’ll not be back. Don’t think there is much value for money and no customer service noted either. Sorry.

As a family we have eaten from here on a few occasions before and however this evening we were incredibly disappointed by Dining Oriental. Having found a dead fly in one of our dishes (questionable hygiene clearly!) we called to ask for a refund however we were told this was not possible and the best they could do was offer a free dish the next time we ordered… Finding a fly in your meal certainly doesn’t encourage you to want to revisit…will be avoiding from now on.

Food is (usually) okay, not great, just okay. Kitchen staff always appear to be in a foul mood (which isn't a particularly welcoming ambience!). Why, oh why, is it cash only (like so many others)? Anything to do with reducing declared income perhaps? Okay for a basic meal, but definitely not up to more than that.

Tough and stringy chicken - felt rubbery and undercooked. Also they only accept cash, no cards. We won’t be back.

With this place all I can say is check your order before leaving as 3 times my order has been incorrect, first order came with chips instead of fried rice, second order was supposed to be a curried fried rice, got home and it was a curried chip, third time I asked for onions in the meal and for the sauce to be spicy hot, got home and again not what I had asked for, this time I called to complain, but they were not interested. Will not be back.

I asked for curry sauce , 3 times my order was read out to me ,when I ordered, when I paid for it and when I was handed it, when I got home and opened my order it was sweet and sour sauce and rice instead of chips,, this has happened to me 3 times now ,, they should read the order out 3 times to the chef's and maybe they will get it right

Good home delivery. Food remained hot and tasty. Large menu, should suit all.,Has European section, too.

food has taste not like most .it arrives hot not like most .a bit Pricier than most but then what can you say when you are given quality food thank you guys keep up the good work

This is our local take away and always very busy. The food is really lovely and the staff are always pleasant.

I have had food from here many many times and have to say each time the food has been absolutely beautiful 😋 I have had the food delivered and picked and there has been no difference in the quality of the food like some other restaurants. I can’t recommend this Chinese enough!

I live in Bangor and this would be my normal Chinese take away. I even have friends from dundonald that travel to get take out from it!

Do not take the word of the bad reviewers on this site. This is my local Chinese restaurant and my family &I have a take away from here once a month (we’ve lived here 13 years!). We’ve never had a bad meal here or a bad experience in all that time. I recently got a take away from them when friends were over and they all remarked how good the food is. Staff and very friendly and professional too
