A wonderful old fashioned type place with tremendous atmosphere in a fabulous location. It is very well looked after and is immaculately clean and fresh. The service is second to none and extremely friendly and the food is very very good. Cannot recommend this hotel highly enough!! 😊

Half portions are now available, great idea as the food is so good, one wants to take advantage but it is quite a lot to eat.

I last visited week beginning September 5th my third visit this year wonderful as ever my late husband and I have visited this hotel for the last 14 years and it never fails to deliver unfortunately I lost my husband to covid and couldn't have a normal funeral or wake but along with my children and grandchildren we are returning in October to visit the gardens where a memorial plaque will be on one of the seats thanks to Alistair unfortunately as there are so many if us and late decision we can't stay but we will enjoy the beautiful grounds and remember a loved husband dad and grumps

We found this address at the last minute on an overnight stop in Pitlochry and were delighted by our find. The surroundings are lush and beautiful, the staff are kind and friendly as well as being efficient and the food was mouth- wateringly delicious, as well as being beautifully presented. A little touch of luxury for our wedding anniversary- we have already arranged to go back for breakfast! Many thanks to all the team for a perfect evening.

The food was excellent and the staff were friendly and helpful. The menu changed every day. Everything was very good. Great tasting food with local produce.

We only had soup and sandwiches but if they are anything to go by, we would definitely try more from the menu. Lovely friendly waitress and amazing views.

Enjoy your included pre dinner sherry, then feast on the (mainly) Scottish fayre - their home smoked salmon was the BEST I have EVER enjoyed......delicious on our chosen salad. Soup or sorbet for second course and lovely meats for main mmmm - don't expect to lose weight on a trip here - everything is too tasty to refuse!

Every night our food experience was a joy. The staff were unfazed by any requests and were always polite and efficient.

Spent 5 nights at the Green Park Hotel on a bridge break . This was my second visit to this special Pitlochry hotel , which has the one of the best hotel restaurants I have ever experienced . The breakfasts leave nothing wanting in the scope and range of food on offer ; the poached haddock and the grilled kippers were absolutely delicious .On my first evening, the grilled sole was cooked to perfection , as was every subsequent evening meal . Highly recommended

We have just returned from visiting Pitlochry and decided to book dinner at the Green Park Hotel. The hotel is a beautiful sprawling building sitting on the edge of the river. In fact, it looks so beautiful we thought it might be a bit formal however I visited the website and everything they post has an air of fun - some of the comments are really hilarious, especially when they refer to someone called 'Alistair'. We arrived and were welcomed at Reception by a lovely lady called Terry. She is from New York State, and is so welcoming and friendly. I like a good chat, and my husband had to remind me that we were actually there to eat or I would have been chatting to her yet Terry showed us through to a beautiful softly furnished lounge, where you are offered a glass of sherry or a soft drink (on the house) and are given the evening's Menu to peruse whilst relaxing We then went through to the restaurant and were immediately greeted by a lovely lady, who offered us any free table of our choice. We chose a table at the panoramic window which looks out on to manicured lawns, at the riverside. A few different waitresses served our table, all of whom were all really welcoming and friendly and service was extremely prompt. The food itself was truly superb - from the set Menu we both started with monkfish in a light, crispy sesame coated batter. My husband then had soup. For the main course, I had the cod and my husband had the veal, both of which were scrumptious. I then went for the cheese selection which comes with a listing of all cheeses (of which there are many) and tells you where they originated. My husband opted for the berries in brandy, and he is still raving about this dessert as we speak, Given the location and the pure luxury of the hotel, the set menu which is offered and which changes daily is really reasonably priced. (Please don't tell Alistair in case he increases the price):) Speaking of the infamous Alistair, it appeared to be his day off when we visited, however, a lovely gentleman called David, continually walked leisurely around all the tables, ensuring everyone had everything they wanted and stopping for a bit of banter. He advised us that Alistair is taller and more handsome than he, however, I find this difficult to believe:) It is a really beautiful place, with a friendly and welcoming atmosphere Cannot wait to visit the Green Park again, a truly lovely experience

We are local to Pitlochry but always dine here if we have visitors. Excellent value as the price includes the sherry/fruit juice beforehand and coffee and shortbread in the lounge after the meal. Never had a bad meal here, portions good, interesting choices, and it is just so relaxing and comfortable.

Excellent food and service great choice on menu. Each course was delicious and very good servings. The cheese boards included a great choice of cheeses. The home made shortbread was very moreish. Cannot fault the food and service, very friendly courteous staff.

A three-day stay at one of my favourite hotels. This Hotel has such a reputation that often guests book their next visit on leaving! It is run efficiently and one can be assured of enjoying a comfortable stay with excellent meals.

I was really looking forward to dinner at the hotel.We were shown into the lounge and offered sherry of cold drink.The menu was quite disappointing.Battered fish and chips,Duck,Steaks,Ham salad and "Vegetable Curry".As I'm vegetarian I was extremely disappointed in the curry,it was a strange colour and had pieces of egg plant and a few pieces of banana,a small amount of rice and a tiny dish of chutney.Not at all appetising!! My partner chose the duck dish which he said was enjoyable. A bottle of white wine at £14 was the best part of the meal!!

La comida fue exquisita Teníamos pre bebidas, jerez o zumo de fruta cuando llegamos, luego tuvimos la cena de 4 platos, después de la cena tomamos café o té y había shortbread también, no tuvimos porque habíamos comido tanto. La comida era deliciosa. Nos sentamos afuera del hotel con nuestros cafés, con vistas a Loch Faskcally, tuvimos una noche absolutamente fantástica. Nada podría haber sido mejor para una comida de cumpleaños. El personal es muy servicial y amable, nada es demasiado molesto para ellos y atienden todas las necesidades dietéticas.

Excellent choice on the menu well cooked. Asked for dressings and sauces on the side and this was ok. Conservatory is a good choice for a table.

Beautiful location within walking distance of Pitlochry. It was a lovely touch to be welcomed with a glass of sherry while we perused the menu. The menu provided a great choice, the food was delicious and very well presented.

We visited with my parents who were residents and joined them for dinner one evening . The food was delicious , with dishes not seen in your more average establishments , making Green Park a lovely place to eat in for a special occasion as we were there for my husband's 60th birthday ... paid for by my parents !

We dined in the restaurant every day during our stay. The choice for breakfast was really good From a wide selection of cereals fresh fruit and of course porridge with whiskey. There was also a wide selection for the cooked breakfast. The dinner menu was excellent with a wide choice to suit I would say most people. All the food was served well presented on hot plates and all tasted as good as it looked. The restaurant staff were very helpful and efficient.

Excellent meal every time with no rush and great service. The dinner menu was imaginative and always interesting. The breakfast highlight for me was having a fresh honey comb to cut and spread in my toast.

All food is excellent, steaks are superb! Staff are helpful, pleasant and friendly. Well worth a visit.

The food at The Green Park is consistently excellent. Head chef varies the dishes which are beautifully presented and served. Helpings are always generous. Quality perfect.

This is a very civilised place which seems to be very popular with the older generation. A complementary sherry aperitif is most welcome. The table d' hote offered several choices and represented very good value. The dining can be busy and as a late booking we could only secure an early sitting and we felt a little rushed between courses. Apart from that, the service was attentive and very good. Minimum dress would be smart casual. There are wonderful views across the River Tummel and the hotel itself exhibits great charm.

Dinner at Green Park is a delightful experience, from the complimentary pre dinner sherry while you peruse the menu, to the excellent choices available to you. Four tasty courses which change daily, followed by complimentary tea or coffee...a very good, and reasonably priced wine list with many half bottles too...what not to enjoy!

Ate here over a two night stay. 2 breakfasts and 2 dinners. The breakfast was excellent each day. Plenty of choice on the buffet to be getting on with while your breakfast choice is being cooked. The choice of cooked dishes is very good and we selected the full Scottish breakfast consisting of bacon egg sausage black pudding mushrooms tomato but decided against the potato scone.Everything was piping hot and the service was great. Good portions with plenty to keep hunger at bay for a good few hours.Dinner each night was also very good. You can peruse the menu over a glass of sherry then stroll through to the dining room to get started. Good selection from an ever changing menu with 4 courses on offer each night. The service was excellent and the food was very tasty, with good sized portions on offer. A novel idea is to turn your table number from the horizontal position to the vertical if you want a short break between courses. Good selection of wines with a bottle of house red costing a reasonable £14 . All an all a great dining experience at a reasonable price.

We stayed in the hotel for 3 days and really enjoyed the peace and calm we got .The food is delicious, the staff is more than supporting.the room was spacious and well maintained.The only down point , is the fact that the customers are mostly elderly people. The bar was closed practically at 9 pm, what makes that, when coming in from an evening spend in the theater, you can''t have a relaxing last drink.But, a good experience still.

We just walked in. It was around 2pm.But the owner was very kind and agreed that we would have a light lunch in the garden.will certainly be back for a longer stay. Just loved the atmosphere, location and the kind staff.

As new residents in Pitlochry my wife and I have been a bit disappointed with some of the restaurants we've visited. Most are on the costly side and the feeling is they don't have to try very hard because in season there are just so many people looking to eat. The Green Park is certainly an exception - no wonder we've occasionally had difficulty booking. Three or four courses are very reasonably priced and you can accompany your meal with a value wine. The complimentary sherry as an aperitif and help-yourself coffee and shortbread after are, to mix metaphors, the icing on the cake. The lounge is relaxed, offering the most wonderful views to the hills above Loch Faskally. You'll find a welcoming open fire in the lobby in winter. The menu offers a good choice and the food is tasty and the servings generous. The staff are all delightful and there's never a feeling of being hurried. You'll find fellow diners are at the upper end of the age scale, but this experience offers you Scottish hospitality at its best.

We stayed here after a matinee at the Festival Theatre. We received a warm welcome from the staff followed by an excellent meal in the evening.In the morning we had breakfast with views of red squirrels running about on the snow covered lawns.

The setting for the hotel is sublime, overlooking Loch Faskally. You enter @ Reception, then are personally conducted to the Lounge, where comfortable seating is aplenty. You are afforded a Sherry or Soft Drink, whilst studying the evening Dinner Menu. Very civilised. When ready, you make your way to the Dining Room, where you are immediately shown to the table of your choice. The table settings are well prepared, with touches of silver in the condiments. The waitress arrives immediately, the order is briskly taken and the wine waiter arrives instantaneously. A sign of a very well organised establishment. There was a slightly limited Menu, of 4 choices for starters and mains, plus a soup/sorbet, then several desserts. Only black mark, was the additional sum of £8.50p for a steak. But it was very good. The food was well presented, prepared and very appetizing. The service was professional and pleasing. Coffee is taken in the Lounge. A very convivial evening in a welcoming and friendly environment. The entire hotel seemed to have gone the extra mile in terms of Festive decorations. Much appreciated. The excellent wine list was priced at a level rarely seen in any restaurant that I have visited, Extraordinary value. Well done.

I had lunch here on Wednesday and really enjoyed myself. The staff are all very friendly and helpful and there was a warm, inviting atmosphere. It was lovely to be greeted with a drink in the welcoming lounge before lunch, beside a glowing fire.The tables were set very nicely and the views from the dining room windows are fabulous. Mountains and rivers and a little red squirrel darting about the lawn, what a treat!I had a delicious starter of smoked halibut followed by the turkey (well, it is Xmas!) The turkey was moist and enjoyable but my neighbours cod dish looked amazing. I had a good selection of Scottish cheeses with quince jelly to complete my meal. Coffee/tea is taken back in the lounge on a help yourself basis with wee sweet treats to accompany it.There are the nice, caring things you would expect in a hotel like this, such as good soap and lotion and individual towels. If I didn't live so close, I'd love to stay here!To reach the Green Park from the south, exit the A9 at the Pitlochry sign and drive straight through the town. As you come to the outskirts, you'll see one of the brown hotel signs on your left.I'd recommend it!

Get it out of the way first - the food here is excellent. First class. And served very quickly (too quickly for us - no time to digest between courses). So, if you are looking for a good meal, pretty reasonably priced, before you pop along to Pitlochry Festival Theatre, can't go wrong here.But, who is the target market? We are early 50s, getting down with the kids. When we went in, we were offered a complimentary sherry. Excuse me? Do I look as if I am 75? And then when we sat down, it was clear why. We were the only couple in the whole restaurant who were born after the war - I mean, the First World War. It was busy, so that is clearly their target market, and it works for them, but we did feel a tad out of place.Still, fantastic food....

Friendly welcome and helpful staff. Good trditional non-nonsense food at reasonable prices. Good wine list too.Big restaurant (split into 2 for ttmpt at cosier feel) but the lighting is a bit strong with no feeling of softness or ambiance.Overall recommended though for friendly & efficient service.

Although a little pricey, the Restaurant at the Green Park is really excellent. Both the food and the service are first class and the wine selection is extensive.This is fine dining, so don't expect huge portions!

This may not be gourmet dining or cuisine to win rosettes but for good choice of no-nonsense fine traditional food this is a great place to be. There are lovely views if you request a table in the conservatory area and they have the excellent idea that you can pause your meal and take a walk between courses if you want to. The staff were helpful and friendly. The wine list has lots of helpful information to assist your choice.

The food is over the top, as well as the service. We were never disappointed. The staff went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed.

I cannot find enough superlatives to describe the Green Park and its staff. The location is perfect, the staff treat you as long lost friends and the food.... My advice is not to take clothes that just fit..... Because after a few days they won't! If you want to be spoiled in comfort, then this is the place to stay.

Lovely staff, not too attentive but onhand as required. Moderately priced wine and extensive wine list to choose from. Both evening meals we had were exquisite, no qualms there. Nice surroundings and excellent lake view from conservatory.Breakfast offers great variety for all tastes.

Dinner is served by choosing from a table dote menu or you can have a steak at an added extra price. My husband had the steak and it was well worth the extra price. It must have been at least 10 ounces, very tender and cooked perfectly. Great wine selection. Couldn't fault it .

Fresh, elegant food served with flair. Hot porridge with whisky, thin fluffy pancakes, wide array of condiments. Multi-course dinners are elegant and delicious. Glasses of sherry await you in the living room prior to your meal. Did I mention the afternoon tea with a wide array of tea selections and wonderful treats? After dinner you can play a game of Scrabble, work on a puzzle, read, enjoy the scenery while sipping on fresh coffee or tea. Impeccable service- always with a smile. The hotel is worthy of all the awards it receives. A must place to visit while in Scotland!

I can only describe the dining experience at the Green Park as first class, from the warm welcome and pre- dinner drinks while plenty of time to peruse the menu, to the lovely attention to detail of the table settings, and food presentation and the quality of the food was brilliant! I was brought here by my sister and brother in law for my 60th birthday and I have never had a nicer meal, every person you make contact with greets you with a smile and nothing is too much trouble and the view from the room we where seated in overlooked the loch and gave a fantastic backdrop to the evening we have been before and will definitely be coming back.

We had Sunday lunch here with my family and thoroughly enjoyed it. The poached salmon just melted in your mouth and the homemade tomato soup was also excellent. Complimentary coffee was also a very nice touch.

There is a complete menu change for the four-course dinner every day. The choice and variety of food is excellent. The breakfast menu and choices is the best and most extensive I have ever experienced in a hotel.

Wonderful views across Lake Fascally, food and service absolutely first class. Pre-dinner sherry and post-dinner coffee and shortbread (at no extra cost) adds to the positive experience.

Over the last few years we have dined here several times and always had good value. It suits my elderly mother as all areas are brightly lit, and the tables are well spaced so she is not affected by background noise from other diners. The service is efficient but on occasion slightly rushed. Reception staff always helpful. We enjoy being able to have coffee in the lounge afterwards.

This hotel makes you feel so welcome the minute you step inside the door. The dinner menu is fantastic and great value too (around £24 for 4 courses plus a sherry aperitif). Excellent Rose wine was only £14/bottle. The decor is a bit dated but this adds to the charm! The service was first class on a very busy Saturday night. The food was truly amazing!

The menu is varied without being too extensive. A glass of sherry welcomes you in the lounge where you can help yourself to coffee and shortbread after dinner. We dined here twice. On both occasions we would have been just as happy with second or third choices from the menu. Service is friendly and efficient. An extensive wine list complements the imaginative menu. The dishes were expertly cooked and beautifully presented.

An excellent restaurant at this family run hotel in the lovely Victorian town of Pitlochry, Perthshire. The quality of the food is top class and great value at a set price and includes a complimentary glass of sherry in the lounge while reviewing the menu. The service is 'old style' exceptional and window seats have fantastic views over the gardens and Loch. One of five recommended restaurants in Pitlochry!

Today my wife and I went for a drive to Pitlochry. Friends told us they go to the Green Park hotel quite a lot and love it. The moment I opened the door the reaction of the staff was amazing. It was as though you were the most important people in the world. It was late on at lunch time, and all we wanted was soup and a sandwich. The receptionist said let me speak to chef as we are fully booked. When she came back we were told that it would not be a problem, we were then led to the lunch room, where we were greeted by a so so cheery pleasant waitress. Our lunch was lovely, and the setting was amazing. I must say, the residents are of the older type, but, do you know what, we loved it. So much so we have booked in for a weekend next spring, and we can't wait. Should you want a total relaxing time..................... You must, must go to the Green Park....
