Food tasted fine. Order took longer than expected to fill. We ordered a larger order for a group. Must have given us a standard tine for collection. Portions were smaller than anticipated given the cost of the items.

Ordered the pad Thai and it didn’t taste fresh. Probably the worst I’ve ever had! I wouldn't recommend here at all. Tummy didn’t feel great after it too, so something wasn’t right!

The food that we ordered (Deliveroo) to the beach on Lee on Solent, was delicious! In fact, the variety of the vegan dishes is better than any other Asian restaurant I’ve been to in Hampshire! 💚 Room for improvement: - the solo sauce for the dim sum was sweet chilli, so not enough and also not very in line with dim sum dips. - I called to ask for chilli sauce & they only had sriracha, which ideally would be chilli oil or fresh chillis, but they didn’t include is as requested. :( - Is any MSG used? We were thirsty for the rest of the night, so could explain the very delicious part… (my mum uses it for the record, to make her Asian dishes taste amazing. 😅) - Vegan options like sweet and sour chicken were more expensive than normal chicken. 😭 - Portions were a little small. Again, thank you for the incredible vegan selection - the mushroom dumplings which seem to be homemade, were incredible! As was the plain fried rice and coconut rice!

Amazing place! I went last night with a mate, everything was lovely and the food was good. The service was brilliant, our server was attentive and friendly. The place itself was atmospheric, we were sat on one of the side tables down the middle near the booths by the bar. The food was all great and especially the desserts, the bento chocolate box. Overall a great evening and will be returning in the future.

We were a table of 3 who visited tonight to celebrate an occasion. We placed our orders, and were asked if we would like our starters to come out first or all food at the same time. We chose to have everything at the same time, this didn't happen starters came first which is no problem but was confused as to why we were given the choice and then it didn't happen. Then our mains came, with 1 dish missing after about 5 minutes a server came over and we asked were the missing dish was we were told it would be coming soon. It didn't arrive until we had finished eating our meal, which also is no problem we were happy to take it away with us along with the food we had left over. We asked our server if we could have it boxed up to take home. To which she kindly said yes. We paid the bill which had a £9 discretionary service charge. Which I was happy to pay. After paying we asked where our food to takeaway was, to then be told it had been put in the bin. This was a whole dish untouched that didn't come to the table until we had eaten our meal and whole rice and half of another dish. I've never received service that was so unattentive to customers needs. We paid for food and it was chucked in the bin and the apology was so flippant. If I had of been told this before I paid the bill I would if never have paid the service charge. I couldn't wait to leave, it ruined the whole atmosphere of our evening

I ordered from the company on Uber eats and the chicken pad Thai is so slimy, sticky and very fishy and stale. I nearly threw up. Upon calling the restaurant it was very clear that this was old stagnant food, cooked from at least the night before if not longer. As you can smell when food starts to go off like the smell of vinegar. When I called and asked if they re-heated their food, she couldn’t give me a clear answer, rather deterring the subject, after many attempts to ask she hung up on me last night! Since then I’ve been on the toilet and being pregnant I’m really not happy. I’ve complained through Uber eats and I have since been refunded. Just be aware. Restaurants should not get to do this. I am also contacting food standards agency.

We came for a quick meal after a visit to the cinema next door. Service was quick and friendly. We were, however, very disappointed with the food. We both had the nasi goreng, which was wildly under-seasoned and really under-spiced, and was not even remotely recognisable as a nasi goreng.

Dim T was and has been my favourite local restaurant for the past year unfortunately, after going last night for my sons birthday I am saddened to say that this is no longer the case. I don’t know if they have a new chef but the food wasn’t up to it’s normal standard last night and we left and said we wouldn’t go back again. Such a shame as we both loved this restaurant and this was our go to restaurant for delicious food.

***EDIT*** To add to this review, the customer care team emailed, blamed their poor customer service on my daughter’s disabilities, and then proceeded to tell me they weren’t going to do anything! So, no, they didn’t resolve the issues! On a brighter note, went to Wagamamas last night just 200 metres walk from here, it was stunning and the staff were incredible! ********************************************* I’ve been to Dim T a few times before, and always really enjoyed it, but this time really made me question why I’d bother again. We booked a table, explaining we have two autistic children, and that it was one daughter’s birthday, so if we could be sat somewhere quieter than the rest of the restaurant. Never received a reply so assumed this was ok. We entered into the restaurant to find Vlada, who had obviously read the notes on the booking as she mentioned the quiet table, but never once said Happy Birthday to our daughter or anything like that. It’s not like we were expecting a full on party or anything, but saying Happy Birthday might have been nice! Unfortunately, the table we were placed at was directly under a speaker blaring out music far too loud for the restaurant, so we found our own table which was better situated for our girls needs. Vlada seemed a bit out out by this so we just ignored her and got on with it! The food. It was ok, but nothing spectacular. We’ve always enjoyed the food in both the Winchester and Whiteley branches, but this just wasn’t good enough. The duck and ginger dim sum was overcooked, and pretty slimy tbh. We couldn’t get it off the greaseproof paper in one piece! We had chicken pad Thai next, and it was pretty tasteless, a lot smaller than it has ever been before, plus the noodles were overcooked, so it was a stodgy mess. The Mochi was really nice though! Finally, we requested the bill once the dessert arrived, which was provided quickly, but then Vlada came over to us, and abruptly asked if we were ready to pay, halfway through the dessert! Needless to say, we asked her to come back after we had finished the dessert. All in all I would say it wasn’t the best experience, and things need to improve for us to go back. It’s a shame as the restaurant was pretty empty, it was Saturday 13th April at lunchtime, and they clearly need more custom.

Once home, when we had put our review on Google, the manager of the store phoned us trying to get us to change the review! A couple of days later, DimT customer services asked us to get in touch with them, which we did, thinking they were trying to make things right. How wrong was I?!? Apparently, they 'refrained from celebrating my daughter's birthday' because they didn't know how severe her autism was!! Does this stop them from simply saying 'Happy Birthday'?? Using our daughters disabilities as an excuse is simply not ok, that's prejudice.

We had pre-looked at the menu before booking, as I have an allergy to gluten. When in the restaurant the menu was not clearly marked for allergens and in some cases incorrectly marked. Staff who served us were not even sure, which did not give any confidence and told us to refer to a QR code via the menu to be sure. Surely all staff working the in a restaurant should have known what allergens were in each meal and be able to inform customers, not the other way round. Food was ok, although no sooner had we finished our starters the main course was on the table, it felt totally rushed.

Over priced and average food. Very limited choices (three) for Coeliacs! I had to decipher the allergen matrix of hell without any assistance from the staff. I had the Phad Thai prawn noodle which was grey, sloppy and too salty. It did have some crushed peanuts on the side which were the highlight. Tom yum soups very disappointing- we had the salmon one and the prawn one. In both cases the salmon and prawn had not be seared, seasoned nor marinated, so they were just plonked in the soup plain boiled, very bland. The soup base was OK but definitely not an authentic Thai taste. Massive dining hall we were the only ones in there on a weekend.

I went to Dim T with my mum and I can say that I was blown away with how delicious the food was and the inclusive atmosphere and service. Food got to us quickly, was hot, and service was with a smile. The restaurant is gorgeously decorated. We had the five spice squid and pork buns - the squid was so soft and tender, the crunchy batter was delicious and was perfect with the tasty sweet Chili dip. Good portion too. The pork buns were delicious, great texture and perfect amount of sweetness. For mains I had chicken katsu curry and my mum had the chicken pad Thai. The pad Thai was delicious and authentic! The Katsu curry was nice, chicken was made well, but I liked the pad Thai better. It had more flavour and oomph. Still nice though. The best part of the meal was the ginger and caramel sponge pudding. Seriously one of the best desserts I have ever had. It was rich, moist and caramel heaven. The ginger was just the right amount. I was going to share one dessert with my mum but after we both tried a bite of the pudding, we both thought it best I order my own! The ice cream was also great quality along side the sponge. Great food as a takeaway and eat in. I took my husband for his birthday dinner. Had an awful service experience. We were spoken to by who I presume was the manager, giving me attitude because he delivered the wrong drinks to us, and before I realised my husband took a sip of what he thought was a non alcoholic beer. He doesn’t drink so you can imagine he was a disappointed by this mistake. But to have a manager tell us we took the order so it’s fundamentally our fault doesn’t make any sense to me. Either way, not wanting to ruin the experience we ordered our food, and expected our starters to arrive and then our mains, which during the process the waitress joked that of course the mains will arrive after. Guess what that was messed up as well, half way through our starters we get our mains, which they had to take back. Then we have another drinks order arrive to our table that wasn’t ours, but the table next to us. Twice in a one sitting is certainly identifying a front of house issue and our fault. Definitely got the feeling the manager was talking about us from a distance. Myself and my husband work in government/client facing roles so we both know just apologise when YOU make a mistake and not make it the customers issue. Maybe designate one member to a table, we had 7 different servers. The tables are too close and not big enough for the 2 people who want multiple items of food, it’s all just awkward. We just wanted a romantic meal and you just crammed everyone in one corner rather than fill the space up elsewhere. The restaurant was not even full capacity. The service just seems to push you out rather than let you enjoy the food at your own pace. We haven’t eaten in Dim T and usually get a takeaway. Probably stick to the takeaways from now. The chefs are brilliant so thanks for saving the night.

6 weeks ago we gave this restaurant a 5+star rating. It was the best food we'd had in a Southampton restaurant. Fast forward to Father's Day and we could barely stand the hideous dishes put in front of us. We asked the waiter if the chef had changed but she was new so had no idea. The bad: The tempura prawns were poorly battered overcooked lumps of something, definitely not tempura. The noodle dish was tasteless and lacked ingredients, the rice dish was okay but lacked ingredients and had to be seasoned, the crispy beef was a lump of gooey mess on a plate and definitely not the superb crispy beef we'd been introduced to previously. The Spring Rolls were undercooked doughy chews with a hint of veg inside and a revolting dipping sauce that probably should've been cooked and none of us could stand. DimT have you actually tasted that sauce? The good: 2 of the 3 dim sum dishes were tasty. But you can't really mess up a steamed dim sum then. The staff are always great! If you going to pay higher than normal prices in a restaurant, then the food has to be good. Would we go back to DimT? Not in a hurry and if we did, we'd refuse any dish that comes out inedible again. This is necessary to teach the cooks (can't call them chefs in this instance), what is acceptable and what isn't. We may go back because we know DimT has a formidable award winning chef hidden in the cupboard somewhere and we'd really like to taste their food again. One last chance one day, maybe.

Three pieces per order, not too bad considering they taste good. I had rice with it - it came with a good amount of beef slices. We used to frequent Wagamama, however, since finding Dim-T it took over as our go to.. Fantastic veggie options, usually chilled out atmosphere, average pricing for a good meal out! Had an issue with last visit which has left us on the fence.. Ordered a veggie option and was delivered meat option. Ate a mouthful before realising. The issue was rectified with a new dish and the dish was taken off the price of the bill, very efficient so cannot complain about that aspect. These things do happen. We hate complaining and if it had been a different veggie dish i would have just eaten it without saying.. What has put us off was the what felt like awkwardness and slight hostility following this incident. We were avoided by all wait staff, not offered dessert (which we were planning to have) and bill was given to us immediately upon finishing the main. The young waitress who had taken our order appeared as if she had been scolded by the rest of the staff and the gentleman who delivered the fresh meal stated to us "she told us it was a meat order". It was human error, these things happen.. We ended up tipping her as we felt so bad. It was my partners birthday that day, so we ended up picking up a dessert from tescos across the road and went home. I'm not sure we will be returning for a while, not because of food or prices but due to the atmosphere between staff and their avoidance of customers following a hiccup!

The ambient is really nice, the staff is lovely. Prices are not too high, although food is not authentic. Don't get me wrong, it's good, but it's not authentic asian food as an asian cook would cook it.

Functional dinner. Food was good, though the bao buns weren't proper bao, more like a folded pancake and a bit tasteless. Was too hungry to send them back. Korean chicken was good and vegan dessert option so win on that. Staff friendly. Atmosphere a bit sterile. Wouldn't avoid but probably would try another option next time.

Love DimT Whitley. The service and food is always really good. I do believe that not a lot of people know about this little gem. I love taking the family here.

Really delicious food. Plus, an excellent manager who is attentive & friendly to families with small children, and willing to accommodate small requests/changes to the food. It means it's one of the few restaurants we can dine in as a family and not be concerned that the ingredients might affect my child due to their intolerances. Thank you 🙏

Went to this restaurant for a Saturday lunch with family. We had Singapore Noodles, Korean chicken , Nasi Goreng and Japanese rice with beef. All dishes were really delicious and served in a nice ambience. The portions were enough for us. Though quite surprised to see 10% service charge added to the final bill which is discretionary though.

So I like Thai or Japanese food, i could easily live off the stuff. The food here is great, spicy full of flavour and the staff are attentive and courteous. Had an amazing Pad Thai and Green Thai curry. Thanks for being authentic and honest in your flavours.

Went there on 11.01.2023, and was looking forward to eating some dim sum. Unfortunately, there was very little choice of dim sum on the menu. My husband chose Tempura Prawns and me Boa Pork as starters. The Prawns were few and ordinary (you can get these in most restaurants). My starter was supposed to be a bun, Unfortunately, it was some dry meat (bacon-like) + a few bit of greenery and a slice of fruit (very hard to eat as very tough ) hardly edible, the few bits wrapped coarsely in a piece of dry and chewy dough. As for the mains (Japanese rice Prawns et my Chow mein Prawns) were very watery and insipid with overcooked Prawns. So this was a bad experience. But the atmosphere was pleasant and the service excellent. Sorry, but we won't be back !!!

What a fantastic find. We booked the table for a much later time on a busy Friday night, but the lady called us straight after and said she didn’t want to turn people away and accommodated us. Customer service at the forefront of their hospitality. Their meals were excellent with the right amount of spice and flavour. Very authentic Thai. Great family run business. Certainly recommend it.

Had lunch at the Dim t restaurant in Whiteley today. Food was OK and seemed reasonably priced. What I do object to is 10% service charge being automatically added to bill which was only advertised in very small text at the bottom of the menu! Addition to comment. I had Nasi Goreng and when I have eaten it elsewhere it had a fried egg on top. This was missing with mine at Dim T and at the time I thought it was just there version. But since have checked their menu and sure enough should have had an egg. Would have expected someone to check before serving or for them to inform me if they had a problem wih eggs! So, if you are eating at Dim t be aware of the 'hidden' 10% service charge and check that what you are served with is what you should have / is on the menu. Above may be regarded as minor issues but are annoying issues that make a customer feel Dim t hide any issues from customers.

December visit after the cinema… New Years Eve…its next door 😂. Quality food, good service nice environs. We were ‘in and out’ in under the hour. Very enjoyable 😊👍👏. Scene set… Friday evening..our twin girls/ young women local favourite restaurant….their choice before going back to college/Uni. Quality, very tasty Asian food. Grateful for ‘booth’ table booking. Very very busy, looked like lots of staff on but pretty chaotic service. Meals ‘partly delivered’ (others to follow) very difficult to get attention to say order more prawn crackers or another drink. Table attended by maybe 5 different staff members. Enjoyed the meal but sadly disappointed by the service… accepting it ain’t cheap 🤔🙄😳. PLEASE NOTE response from management ✅ to this review and good will £10 voucher received. ✊

Thai green curry is ok, Japanese katsu curry is lack of curry sauce. Fried rice and noodles from kid's menu are not tasty at all, only add soy sauce and plenty of sugar.

Just moved into the area and wanted to order some takeout. I've been disappointed in the past with lots of mushy Asian food. But this... Wow!! Yum yum and authentic! I've ordered take out 3 x this week 😂 don't judge me I'm still unpacking boxes. This is fresh and very flavourful without the nasty additives most Asian restaurants use. I highly recommend the Pad Thai and the dumplings. Now I need to visit the restauration too !

Food was really good but it was disappointing that staff couldn't really help with allergies. Items are marked as NG or NGO and an allergen list linked via QR code on the menu. WiFi requires your information and there's no signal in whiteley so you end up having to give details to see allergens. Small plate/starter five spiced squid doesn't show as having Gluten as an allergen on the lost but it's not shown as NG or NGO. Asked staff but no one seemed sure. A gentleman looked through the allergen list on my phone but still wasn't sure. Ordered the 'safe' foods which only left me with the edamame starter. Ordered the Pad Thai to main which was very nice. Probably won't rush back based on the uncertainty of allergens.

We were a group of 4. Our first booking had to be cancelled due to covid but we re-booked to the following week with no problems at all. On arrival we were sat at the front of the restaurant which was very loud due to the acoustics of the room and was playing havoc with my husband's hearing aids so we asked if we could move to the back room, which was quieter. Again this was no trouble at all and we were very grateful. Our meals were fantastic and we had a really nice evening. I would thoroughly recommend and hope to return in the future.

Ordered on deliveroo and after waiting an hour and a half, calling and being told they were understaffed with no drivers and offering to collect in return for a refunded delivery fee, I arrived to find that the store was dark, empty and up for let. The helpful employee in the OneStop next door informed me that they had been closed down and out of business for a long time. Somebody related to this store has scammed £60 out of some students. Please be careful.

Ordered a takeaway. Chicken satay was processed preformed meat, out of the freezer not fresh chicken. The sweet and sour balls were TINY bit of meat in a HUGE lump of batter, sauce was orange gloop and tasteless, not sweet or sour. On the whole everything was lastless and poor quality. There was nothing special don’t waste your money.
