Didi's Dining in Norwich

Dined here with my partner 18th jan and honestly was amazing. Food came quickly, staff were very friendly and even gave us a complimentary hot chocolate we could put chocolate in ourselves and a whisk to stir it in which i thought was a really cute twist. The Owner I believe was very lovely, came to our table multiple times and was telling me all about her lovely restaurant and made us feel very welcome. The food was flavourful and very authentic, everything was fresh and overall would definitely recommend and come again ! I wish them all the success in the future for this lovely independent small restaurant 🍲✨

Such an amazing place, and definitely worth a visit! The food was incredible with strong flavours alongside the spice. My first time trying Caribbean and Nigerian food and this did not disappoint at all. Was such a pleasant, warm and friendly atmosphere. This really is a hidden gem, if you’re debating whether to try it please don’t think twice! The lady who served us (I believe the owner) was incredibly polite, friendly and accommodating! I was disappointed. It all tasted the same. A friend wanted to eat there but I don't like hot spiced food. You can use spices & taste the food. It made us ill for 2 days. Wide bith!

I went there yesterday and the food was amazing. As far as I can tell this is the only African resturant in Norwich, so go support the local business!

We had meals delivered last night god wat rubbish three lots of meals the ribs were realy dry and tough like they were cooked two days ago the same with both lots of ribs bbq and jerk rice and peas dry and tasteless we washed 50 per cent of meals very disappointed I grew u p. On Jamaican food but that was nothing like it

Wanted to love this. Well over an hour late. Wrong food delivered. Some of it was nice but far too late and not what we had ordered.

Had to wait almost an extra hour after arriving for collection despite calling to check when to pick-up and the restaurant being completely empty. Neither the curry chicken or goat tasted like Caribbean curry and were unusually sweet. Had high hopes but would not return unfortunately :(

The food was amazing! I loved the yam and vegetarian curry. The chef and all the staff were so friendly. The only thing we did not like was the cake.

Ordered Egusi with eba and Ayamase with white rice, it was tasty and felt like home. Delivery was on point as well. 5 ⭐️

Ordered a meal which took nearly 2 hours to arrive. In the meantime, had to order additional food due to needing to get to bed to get up early for work. No communication, no apology, not good service! Will not be ordering again!

On several occasions not once, twice or thrice have they failed to deliver my order at the right time. They end up delivering 2hrs after the scheduled time and the worst is that in some cases they don’t reach out to update you 👎🏻

Very tasty food, ordered some rice to go together with goat curry and hard chicken red stew. Fed two adults easily, so the portions are on point and the prices aren't too crazy either - we'd spend about the same amount in a fast food joint between the two of us, but here everything was made fresh - fair amount of meat too, so that's great! The food was delivered on time (still warm) and the gentleman delivering was very polite and pleasant. Can easily recommend this restaurant, good stuff!

Delivery was 2 hours and 20 minutes late(they explained they would be a bit late because what I ordered was not available) they updated the app twice that my order had been delivered. In all honesty would have been okay if they had not tried making something else which was not ayamase food was terrible and got me nauseated. Customer service -10/100

What a gem of a restaurant tucked away in Thorpe St Andrews! Easy parking and from the moment you enter Ms Didi and her team make you feel welcome. She gave personalised recommendations and the food was cooked well with a personalised spice level. From golden , flaky mutton pastries to incredible fried rice with succulent beef curry and light, sweet fried plantain it was a delight from start to finish. Highly recommend eating in for the full vibe !

Food ordered at 19:30, estimated delivery 20:40-21:00. Just eat notification recieved at 21:10 stating food had been delivered...it had not. call made to restaurant and told food was just being collected and was on its way...it was not. Multiple calls later, being lied to that food was close to arriving, told they would call the driver and ring back...they did not. food finally arrived a 22:00. Horrendous service

My parent ordered from this place for collection online, called to see if it was ready only to be told they were not accepting orders and that they were closed despite stating that they were open on google and allowing orders on the website. However, the money was taken already. The owner said they would refund tomorrow. Poor management. Could've easily been communicated but wasn't.

In general food was very tasty. Curried goat and chicken was very nice. Rice was nicely cooked. Beef suya wasn't the best, meat hard and difficultto chew. Peanut chicken stew was average. Overall good

Food is, as always, excellent. Hot and fresh, delicious, nice portions. There was some trouble with a delivery driver for this order so the food was very late, but restauranteur left the kitchen to deliver it herself. Must try in Norwich! Just order well in advance.

I have been looking at this places menu for some time and today I ordered ! Missing my “African food” and this food has made me so happy. Was amazing quality and good portions. Delivery guy was friendly which is so rare these days!im going to sleep happy and full . Will be making this place my top choice when ordering out now , so many things on the menu to try :)

Chicken was exceptional flavour was out of this world and I loved the home made chips. Only downside for me was the chicken bone splinters and more chicken, will be ordering again

Delivered hours late. Food mainly tasted bad. Although it was still hot, food undercooked and didn’t taste how it should. Most of food had unpleasant aftertaste.

Totally disappointed with their food. The soup order is a trap as it doesn’t come with a complimentary swallow which is also not stated on their site and there is no place on their website to order for swallow separately. Glad it was not a delivery otherwise I would have been stranded with only soup and nothing to eat with it as I was on a vacation at this place. My son who is a lover of chips was so upset as the chips were so oily/served with oil. The chicken Suya was burnt and very hard/dried. Couldn’t eat it. It wasn’t worth the time/money/fuel spent driving down to buy this food.

If you're in need of comfort food this is the place to go. you can tell that the people who cook the food love their jobs , so much love goes into this food. The man who delivers is so lovely too which makes me feel less guilty for breaking my diet to eat this. I wish I ha a life time supply of their jollof !!!! highly recommend 👌

This food was amazing made to order and cooked to perfection.. my only regret was that we didn't order more.. but with these portions sizes there definitely enough for round 2!! Friendly and welcoming atomosphere and well worth the wait. The kind of food that hits the soul. Once you have finished eating you spend atleast 5 minutes gaining composure. Will definitely be returning in the future and to continue to support this local lady!!

Very good customer service. Yes you have to wait a bit but that’s understandable as it’s all cooked from fresh but definitely worth it when it arrives. Decent portions size on everything not like most places that give you a little bit of food. Everything hot and cooked to perfection. Am from Birmingham original and was shocked at the level of the food. This is a must try to anyone wanting to order Caribbean or African cuisine. The seafood is really good.

Abysmal service is extremely generous to leave as a review. All I will say is, anyone placing an order here would do better to just go to the market, buy the ingredients, and cook by themselves. Oh, of course they'll tell you the obligatory "I am sorry". Meaningless, as you still have to chase up. If you ate hungry, don't, for goodness sake, don't order from them!

A grear Caribbean restaurant in Norwich! Delicious home cooking by enthusiastic lady chef Didi, with all the traditional food - goat or fish curry, jerk chicken and ribs. Place is in a small parade of shops and parking was easy. Friendly and respectful staff, and cool Nigerian music playing. Family friendly.

Food was cold and raw chicken if anyone would of eaten this they would of been very ill glad I noticed before my children started to eat any of this never ever will I come to this place again should be shut down

Dishonest restaurant. Called twice to be told food was minutes away. Third time was told they would call driver to see what was happening. Didn't answer our calls any further and then took the phone off the hook. Gave up and made food only for order to turn up 65 minutes late. Food itself (what we sampled as was irrelevant by then) was okay although starter (veggie patties at £4.00) were missing. Avoid using.

Her stall at UEA is incredible! Her restaurant also is a really cool place to eat. Authentic Afro-Caribbean food.

Phoned them three or more times and to say the least they didn’t even know my order let alone the awful service from the lady who answered the phone not worth the money or the experience sad sad times 😭

Food came late! Fried rice didn’t taste as good as I expected and didn’t smell nice, part of it was burnt. Chicken was soaked in barbecue sauce and that wasn’t nice as I don’t like that. Was expecting a chicken fried and mixed in spicy stew Food had taste of African/Indian and that’s so not nice. Please, give us African food whenever we buy, we want a taste that feels like home. I’m definitely not buying again!*

Fantastic food! We had the curried goat and peanut stew and loved both. The jollof and rice and peas was also great. The gentleman who delivered the food was friendly and on time. A great find!!

Really disappointed, wanted to try out this restaurant because the menu looked really good only to have my order cancelled via JustEat over an hour after I placed the order.

It was a very bad experience, I ordered a meal worth over 20 pound they charged me 3 pound extra and they did not deliver........ I had to go to the place only to find out they were closed when they still clearly said opened online... I did all of this while very hungry, I will advice anyone to avoid this place, if you do go there it would be at your own risk. I don't usually do reviews but I had to do this may be this will help someone, so they don't make the same mistake I did

It was refreshing to eat from a cuisine you don’t find often in Norwich. Food arrived late, but luckily was still warm. The quality of the food was great however, so will have to try some other stuff on the menu at some point!
