Dial Arch in Greenwich

As I have been saying for a while, some pubs are doing a much better job than restaurants with name. Dial Arch has a stunning menu and good selection of drinks + all ingredients are fresh.

Admittedly they were busy but they lost one order and instead of apologizing they first claimed they didn't lose it. Then they found the order they'd misplaced and still no apology. Got a refund for the order not received but even that was a bit less smooth than one would have hoped for. Manager wrote to me after this review and explained the issues the team was facing including issues with the app and offered an apology.

We had the Sunday lunch today. The restaurant was extremely packed with customers. We waited 40 minutes for two Sunday roast dinners. They were both cold, the potatoes par roasted, the beef tasted cold and slimy. The vegetables were rock hard, uncooked and tasteless. No condiments offered.The pot of tea was cold. A big disappointment and waste of money. The waitress seemed polite but not interested in our complaint. We will not be returning.

Worst experience I can have in the restaurant. Ok food and worst service. First, I waited 30 min and no one cleaned up the table until my food was served. Then after my friend ordered his food 30 min, he still didn’t get his food and the bar claimed that I didn’t make the right order online so I actually took my friend’s order. They insisted even after I showed them my transaction on app and requested me to show the receipt. I found that receipt in the end and the waitress altitude was like, yeah we found it (with 0 apologies at all and super not care, excuse me?) they blamed on other people’s fault even it’s theirs. The online order system is terrible definitely and I won’t buy such a service

What a place! The vibes, the food, the shaking (or stirring depending on how sophisticated you are) and most importantly the people that made our little gathering oh so bloody special! Hospitality at its finest! Thank you!

Food was great and came quickly. The lady serving was exceptional also.

There is no need to increase the music volume suddenly, it was already loud and then suddenly I couldn't even hear my friends talking They refused to slightly turn the music down

Some foods are not listed on the menu, you've got to spy on what others are eating and ask if you could also have one.

Ollie provided really great survive and took the time to go through gluten free options and my extensive dietary requirements. The food was super tasty too. :)

Lovely place for lunch. We didn't have a booking, but the place is so big it had a table available for us. The burger and bavette steak were really good quality, and so were the fries. Also I liked the fact they have a good choice of low alcohol beers.

Great food the burger was really delicious and the brownies- we hoped they would not be too sweet and they weren’t! They tasted very light.

My favourite place in Woolwich, although the only thing I've tried so far was their Sunday roast and every time I did, it was delicious, although it is rather pricey. It's also nice to sit down, grab a nice drink and read a book - many of their seats are very comfortable.

Popped in on a Friday night during our trip to London. It was a very busy night. Despite that, our server Sue, provided such lovely service!! Our meal was fantastic. I especially loved the sticky toffee pudding and the chicken and leek pie!

It looks like the chef has made big changes and the fish and chips with a great tartare sauce and a wonderful new curry sauce is a delight. Hopefully the level of quality will stay for a while.

Fantastic Sunday Lunch ! My wife and I had the trio of roasts. Each cut was tender and tasty, with an excellent vegetable array, plus a massive yorkie. One of the best we have had, and a very large seving. My daughter had the equally excellent vegan Wellington. The service was also top notch. My son, who ordered the Risotto, had acute Yorkshire Pudding envy, and so they kindly brought him one.

Had a new waiter today, great service despite it being his first day. Handy spot for when you get off the Elizabeth line.

Staff are friendly and not too long a wait for service. Good place for relaxing pint/coffee/wine etc.

Something has certainly happened here to improve the place. New management team perhaps? On Valentines Night we enjoyed a great food with pleasant staff, particularly the front of house lady who usually does events (her name escapes me, but deserves credit).

A great place to relax and unwind. Friendly staff and reasonable prices, I was pleasantly surprised. The seating is spacious and the pub itself is very airy and has a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. There is plenty of seating outside too. The toilets are A1, outstanding. Would highly recommend.

Decent enough beer selection, cocktails were good too. Really big and plenty of space to sit. Food was good too

A gastro pub in the heart of the Woolwich Arsenal serving good food which can be washed down with a large selection of Ales, Spirits and non-alcoholic beverages.

I reserved an area and hosted a surprise party - the staff were great, they allowed us to decorate and store the cake. Everyone was really friendly and the chap cleaning our section was very attentive. The food and drink were fantastic too.

A little bit pricey, a little bit of a wait to get our drink order, but fine generally. You won't be sending your mother a missive about this place.

Really love this venue in the old Royal Arsenal Woolwich where my dad worked all his life. Also where the Dial Square football team was formed, which later became Woolwich Arsenal, and today is known as The Arsenal.

Lovely modern but cozy pub! I'd definitely drink here again.

Went there last night, 10 Jan around 10pm. Barman was miserable and no one cleared the tables despite the place not being busy. Spent around £100 for 2 rounds of drinks and some fish and chips. I used to love this place when I lived in Royal Arsenal.

Great pub. If I had known the size of the kids fish and chips I would have ordered one of them instead!

Amazing and stylish space with great food and lovely waiters! We really enjoyed it. The only thing one could point out is that the prizes are rather on the upper end for pub food with most dishes between 18-20 £. But the quality of the food is superb, so no complaints!

Really cosy spot for drinks or a bite to eat. Conveniently located by Woolwich station, with a very cosy and relaxing atmosphere. Staff were friendly and welcoming, with a wide range of options for drinks and food.

Yesterday I have celebrated my Birthday at Dial Arch and everyone had much fun. Food was delicious and they have a wde variety of lagers. You can also have Mac n Cheese as birthday cake if asked in advance. 100%would recommend.

The Dial Arch benefits from being right next to the Elizabeth Line entrance in the more scenic area of Woolwich. The Dial Arch always does us proud. Good food, good beer and great service. We had a pizza (which was a tad over done) and deep fried brie wedges. With Apple crumble to finish which was spectacular, we would recommend. The drinks especially were a little on the pricey side however this easily is made up for by the premise which is beautiful and kept presentable with a homely, family orientated vibe. It also has extensive outdoor seating. The Dial Arch is well worth a visit If not to get a taste for the historic architecture but to while away a Sunday afternoon.

Staff friendly and polite. Lovely atmosphere. Menu a little on the pricey side, however, the food is very good. Great pizzas.

The service was worse than in a fast food restaurant. Nobody asked if everything was OK, no request for another drink. We're not given the opportunity to order dessert. The service was called by us so that we could at least pay. It wasn't full booked,so I simply expect more in terms of customer service on Christmas eve. There were napkins and small leftover food on the floor. Nobody cared about it.

The food was excellent. However the Bloody Mary came with a slice of bacon but no mention of this on the menu. It’s nearly 2024 and you go out of your way to ask about allergies so surprised to see this sort of oversight.

Paula was really great and attentive, despite it being very busy. Made us feel welcome.

As usual About 10 staff going around the pub but only one person behind the bar and have to wait ages to be serve Loosing patience and thinking of choosing another pub

Lovely family pub in a quiet area not far from Woolwich high street. We went on a Sunday afternoon intending to try their Sunday roast. It definitely did not disappoint :) The pub is overall very cozy and makes you want to spend time there 😊 Definitely worth a visit :)

Byliśmy na Christmas Party, niestety ale z zamawianego jedzenia nie wszystko zostało zrobione. Odnieśliśmy wrażenie że przygotowano to co było najczęściej zamawiane i musieliśmy się dopasować. Poza tym lokal całkiem przyjemny żeby się spotkać czy to we dwoje czy w większym gronie

Really good for a beer or fries, but definitely not for a meal. I had fish and chips, my boyfriend had hamburger. Both weren't good at all. I am sorry to say that but I did not even understand the choice to use the english bacon cut in the hamburger instead of the usual crispy one, the fish had also a bad small. So sorry but no.

I’m a local resident of the area and Dial Arch Pub it's always a great option to spend a good time with good food and drinks. But if you have been served by Paula is even better. She’s just the best, always with a big smile and happy.

The staff isn't helpful at all. Even though there were 3 people around the counter, none of them turn around and try to get order. I was waiting in the queue as the second person and the staff came and served the third person before us. Funny way to serve people, starting from the back of the queue. Never going back again even for a simple drink.

Lovely, rustic pub with pleasant staff. I always eat at least one meal here when I visit from the States. Delicious, savory dishes and hearty portions.

We went for drinks and nibbles after a wedding ceremony, all the staff were very nice and welcoming and we have a great time! The place can accommodate easily bigger groups (we were 24) as well as smaller parties. It’s nice and very nicely presented and cocktails were great! Thanks :-)

We booked the Wellington room for our 30th anniversary, where our friends and family could gather. We were very well looked after by Ollie, throughout the night. Food was put out at appropriate times, as judged by the Dial Arch team. The space was perfect for our guests with several asking how to go about securing the space for their own events. I couldn’t recommend it more highly!

This place is awesome, lots of seating in a nice environment and great food.

We celebrated my brothers 60th birthday and the staff could not have been more helpful. Booking for 22 people was easy. On the evening we arrived the staff were attentive and the food was great. It is a large place but feels warm and homely. Would definitely recommend it.

We just dropped in while waiting for the Thames Clipper. Good beer, good chips and very friendly, helpful staff. We decided to get a later boat!

:( Sunday roast - £19-£21(?) We ordered pork belly roast x2 and rump of beef. All the meats were chewy and tough. Friend’s pork belly had a part that was almost rock solid and inedible. Roast potatoes were the worst. It looked and tasted like boiled potatoes but with a chewy tough skin. Friend didn’t eat his. I could only chew so much bland tough skin. Tbh I think the meat and roast potatoes definitely were not fresh. Definitely stale. Gravy and vegetables were the only good thing. Surprised how good the vegetables were. Wish there was more gravy to help with the potatoes. Service was slow. We received our menu and food fairly quickly altho we rather they spend a longer time on our food. They took a while to take our order; had to call them over. Had to get up and pay at the front of house, not sure if they take payments at the table as no one came even after I signalled. Considering the price of the food, I don’t think this was worth our money. Shame as we were excited to try this place since we moved to the area some months ago. May go again since we’re literally a few mins away but let’s see.

Love this pub especially all the nooks and crannies you can find for a quiet drink or a get together with friends in tne bar. Bar staff have good knowledge of the wine list if wine is your thing Enjoy

A perfect party for my son 11's birthday, from the very first booking request to clearing the bill (unbeatable price btw for such a vast amount of food and drinks consumed). Couldn't ask for more, really...well, a warmer and dry weather if they had some magic powers!

I attended my friends wedding reception in a private room here at Dial arch. Paula who looked after us went above and beyond to make sure we were so well looked after. She was a dream. I love that the room is private but still has some openings into the pub meaning although in your own space you get all the atmosphere from the main areas. Overall, nice food, nice details and lovely staff.

Very nice and big pub in the heart of Woolwich. The ambiance and atmosphere is fantastic. Brickstone walls and heavy wooden furniture. We've been there for a traditional English Breakfast. Great.

Easy food, so good for a Sunday

My family travelled from the coast for us to have Sunday Lunch together, so timing on arrival uncertain. Dial Arch coped with this very well. The food was very good, service likewise - we did have to wait a bit to receive our order, but acknowledged by staff and compensated. The family were surprised that in London the atmosphere was so relaxed and friendly. They are looking forward to their next visit.

We chose you guys to celebrate our marriage and we couldn't be happier with the beautiful place and the service especially Paula OMG she was out of this world, we are extremely happy and couldn't recommend enough this beautiful place! Paula GRACIAS we loved everything xx

The soup was tasty. However, it was stone cold. I asked for them to reheat. The portion size was ridiculously small for the price. £6.00 for essential a cup of soup.

I have lived in Woolwich for 14 years. I remember when the Dial Arch had just opened. It was a nice, simple, cosy place. 14 years later, it’s become this pedantic place and totally over priced. I went for lunch today, and I was not impressed by the food at all which was too salty.
