Desperados in Greenwich

Thought this restaurant was amazing , really good food and very good value , we came on Friday night for my Mrs bday , staff gave us free shots and joined in , burger was excellent

Great cocktails, great service, food good and decent portions- no complaints, will visit again next time we fancy some TexMex

Found the fajitas hard on the rim middle was like chewing bubblegum also felt very rushed while eating starters we were asked if we were ready for our mains. Thought 2 cocktails each a shared stater and a main each was expensive

Arrived on time, but had to wait for table despite reserving in advance. Starter was amazing (but could have done with more nachos (sharing starter). Main course decidedly average I’m afraid. For a place rated for its steak, the one I had on a hot plate covered in sauce to disguise the thinness and fat was not edible. I noticed those who had the steak (as a steak) had far better cuts of meat. Lesson learned. Staff were attentive and polite.

Food was exceptional and sensibly priced, the drinks were also reasonable. The staff were friendly and very helpful. My only fault was the added service charge but other than this it was a great evening with great food

The cocktails were amazing with good amounts of alcohol in it. The nachos as starters are quite large portions and I couldn’t have a main meal afterwards. Overall the food, drinks and service was great. You also get free shots and mints when the bill is presented.

The "Half rack of the bone baby pork ribs, roasted in our famous smoked honey BBQ sauce served with coleslaw" had no coleslaw, food was generally ok but nothing special.

Food was very nice abd severed in good time even though they were completely packed. The staff were very friendly and helpful

Really nice place where you can taste mexican food, that is really good. The first floor is a little bit too cold for a restaurant. The drinks are too expensive in my opinion.

The food was freshly prepared & huge portions served- which was very good value. Service was excellent and will definitely be back.

Had booked table but traffic meant running late. Phoned and no problem holding table. Taken quickly to table and drinks and food orders done in quick and friendly fashion. Piping hot food came and chicken burrito and chicken enchilada were both tasty and good size portions. Asked for bill and came and was paid swiftly. We were going to O2 and needed a quick turnround which we got. Would definitely go back again and spend a more leisurely meal time. Owner was nice and whole ambiance was pleasant and a very good experience. Well done to all at the Buffalo.

Welcome was from a couple of staff standing in the doorway, who were obviously quite surprised to see us. I always feel uncomfortable about restaurants where the staff are standing in the doorway or the street looking forlorn. Our food was a distant and inauthentic take on Tex-Mex food. Lots more "vegetable stew" in things than I would expect, such as: Nachos, Tacos and Enchiladas. (To be honest, I don't expect ANY vegetable stew in Mexican food). I'm guessing this was "vegetarian chilli", but wasn't a welcome addition, nor particularly nice - it included baby corn, potatoes and courgettes! Lots of the food appeared to have been microwaved, being steaming hot in some places and refrigerator cold in others. The staff were mostly pleasant and helpful, but there was at least one member of staff who was so slow and miserable that it increased the generally slightly uncomfortable feeling I had about the place. Overall, the restaurant has the feeling of a place that some people have started in a tourist hotspot to make money, as opposed to a place where people are passionate about food and service. I'm sorry to say I don't think we'll be going back, and I can't recommend it to you either.

Encontré este lugar mientras viaja de vuelta a nuestro hotel east end el largo camino (querido experimentar el Río gatos y DLR). Precios parecía un poco más barato comparado con lo que habíamos visto a través de las zonas más céntricas de Londres.

Expensive food for what you get. Ordered a "10" burrito" and actually got a very small "3.5" burrito" that was not very filling at all.

Estábamos buscando un lugar para comer para un grupo de 6 en una noche de sábado, después el Rugby y no tener mucho de alegría. A poca pasado Desperados estaba casi vacío, así que en poca de no tener expectativas muy altas. El camarero nos ofreció una ronda gratis de sangría y desde allí fue en wards y hacia arriba.

This place deserves a 10/10!!. The customer service is effecient and friendly, the staff are always ready to help. The delivery driver is always happy to see us. I would highly reccomend the BBQ combination Grill for just under £20. This is a great price and quality of food. I always order this meal with out a doubt. Only thing I would suggest is that it would be amazing if they could add a creamy coleslaw or corn on the cob to go with the BBQ combination Grill :)

Food came early and driver was friendly but the food itself was terrible. It was cold throughout, not at all as described on menu, poor value for money and completely flavourless, had to add half a bottle of Tabasco to make it taste remotely Mexican. Without doubt the worst Mexican food I have ever had and possibly the worst convenience food of any kind I ever had. I wanted it to be good as it's the only place for a burrito in my post code but next time I will rather go without.

Ordered for delivery at 8:25, restaurant confirms for 8:40, food turns up at 7:30... go figure?! Food was OK... would order again if in the mood for Mexican. Although nachos don't travel too well!

This restaurant is a joke!!!! I was advised not to order from them but took it upon myself to ignore the people that told me this. When you order food that is advertised as vegetarian you wouldn't expect meat to then be in every dish. Spoke to 2 different people at the restaurant and both said "it's not my problem" Worst customer service I've ever experienced and the food quality was awful... arrived soggy and all over the place. The only thing that's saves this restaurant is the fact that the delivery driver was kind. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!

Good food not as good as last time as steak was slightly cold and I was kind of expecting more than 2 mushrooms with it and maybe a little sauce. They jacket potato was quite dry... but they delivered earlier than what they had put, delivery man was very polite. My partners food was top knoch yet again. Although not as good as my last experience would still order from here!! *************

EXCELLENT!!! Will definitely be ordering again was really nice food I had the chicken Arizona and it was perfect if I had known it was going to be that good I'd have had rice... my fiancé had the cheese and bacon burger and that was the best burger he's had in a while!!! 5***

That burrito was not a burrito. It was less then 10"inch and the beans tasted bland and weird

Where do I start.. Absolutely poor food quality and poor customer service don't bother ordering from this place and wasting your hard earned money because it's absolutely poor. I've just spent £35 for nothing. Not only was the food bland but also on their website their veggie options are false just ordered the potato skins which were meant to be "veggie" but came with bacon not even an option to choose from. So do yourself a favour and just buy Old El Paso and make your own Mexican food which will be much better than this.

If youre hungry, I highly recommend you order your food here. Mexican Chilli cheeseburger was absolutely gorgeous. Staff are always friendly and food is always on time or early.

Food came in good time but quality wasn't brilliant. For example the onion rings probably came from a 50 bag from a bargain grocer. Food wasn't piping hot when it was delivered.

Best bit of steak I've had in a long time, everyone at the table said the same. The food arrived early, hot & well presented in marked containers. Driver was polite & discreet as it was late. Yet another perfect meal & service from Desperados.

I ordered a 10" Burrito which turned out to be a 4" wrap with nothing but chicken inside, with a little container full of rice and beans. Was nothing like it was described.

Order placed at just after 8pm with delivery time given of 8:50, this then changed to 9:15 when the order was accepted which was fine. At 9:25 food had not arrived so called the restaurant and was told it would be 15 minutes. At 9:58 we still had no food but the order was now showing as delivered on the app on my phone, called the restaurant again only to be told they would check with the kitchen and call me back. At no stage did the even ask for my phone number... it's now 10:15pm and I still don't have my order. Completely unacceptable service, which is shame as the restaurant is good for eating in. Will never order from them again. Credit to justeat for processing a full refund. Be warned, could be that it was just really busy as it was Friday night. But that is typically the case on a Friday for a restaurant and frankly no excuse.

Top quality service and gorgeous grub as always, special amendments made to suit my little brother's dietary requirements, which were met and exceeded.

Food was really nice but the service was over and above, I forgot to say how I wanted my steak cooked and after trying to contact me on two occasions made the decision for me, they upgraded the wine order as the steak want cooked to my taste. Really nice of them and totally impressed.

Had the steak again today, gorgeously tender & flavoursome, I'm actually in love with this place.

Food and service exceeds expectations...delivery is fast and always pleasant and polite, steak cooked to perfection, burger satisfying as ever, and not only is it fulfilling but it feels so much healthier than fast, fried & processed foods.

We order fajitas, chimichanga and chips. The chips were barely cooked at all and the fajitas were missing. We called them and they were very rude. We will NEVER order from this establishment again

I ordered a burrito from this place as well as a burger for my girlfriend and some nachos to share. They sent a chimichanga that was like a soggy lump of dough instead of my burrito and ALL the food was cold slop. I then complained to Just Eat l, asking for a refund who called Desperados (also calling themselves Buffalo's?). Then the restaurant called me to shout at me about the complaint and hung up. Just Eat said they were unable to provide a refund because the restaurant had refused. Don't use these jokers and don't expect support from Just Eat when you want your money back that you paid to go hungry. Atrocious behaviour from all of these crooks.

If i could give 10 stars i would. Food was juicy, tasty and top quality. Delivery time excellent , delivery driver was polite and friendly. Not a bad word to say. Will definitely be ordering from here regularly.

Arrived 30 quicker than estimated but 100% not worth the price. Chips were cold and soggy, cheese on nachos was hard and the burger tastes like it had been sitting under a heater for hours. Not happy with this order especially as it was first time ordering.

Voy aquí (ahora llamado búfalos) regularmente con amigos un sábado por la noche cena seguida por una buena (catchup) leer 'gossip' sobre unas cervezas después. Desde el menú Abrir búfalos se ha ampliado para incluir el estilo americano, así como el original que ofrece comida mexicana.

Wine & food were okay. Somewhere for a quick stop, nowhere you'd really want to go back and visit again in my opinion. Staff didn't seem very happy or friendly either which is a shame

Food was absolutely fantastic. Been eating at Desperados for years. So glad they now have a takeaway service. Can't wait to order again. Food is a bit pricey but defo worth it.

Average food but it was really late and I hadn't eaten all day. Fast delivery but forgot something that I ordered. Not impressed

The food was decent, and the person who delivered it was nice. However the food was delivered 23 minutes after the time proposed by the restaurant, and it was luke warm at best upon delivery.

For 10 quid you had to assemble the burrito yourself which is a joke, the nachos didn't have any salsa on it and the beef with it wasn't a nice accompaniment. The food was mostly cold when we received it, somehow it made the hangover worse which is a feat in itself. We asked for napkins considering that we ordered finger food and weren't given any, it's pretty simple to complete that task at least.

We went here for lunch; the service was ok but food was average. Steaks were not exceptional but acceptable. I think there's some better in the surroundings.

I am a regular customer, the service is usually very pro my with high food quality. Unfortunately today, I ordered a burger which was dry and seemed to of been thrown together. I ordered other things with quality less than usual. The delivery was also late which resulted in cold food.

Nice place for lunch or dinner.. Typical Mexican food with lots of spices and dip... Loved the Nachos. .

Extensive cocktail list well mixed with some house specials. The food can be a bit hit or miss. At times very good others disappointing. Lovely late night dinner option allowing you to view the Greenwich night from the large windows. However your also very visible to the public so not a spot for discreet meetings. Toilets are down a tight staircase so not for the less mobile of people. Service is always friendly, not recommended for families with young children.

Amazing food! Nice and huge fillet of salmon! As good as if you eat in! Last time I ordered, took more than hour to delivery but they compensated with a botle of a nice an crispy pinot grigio :) This time delivery took half hour! Thank you guys for the quality of your service. Definitely will order again. X

Tasty but it comes like all separated, like a meat pastry with rice and beans by the side. I had to roll it, fortunately I had tortillas at home.

Food wasn't great and they messed up our order - at least they corrected the mistake and were reasonably polite and apologetic.

Had a bad experience, delivery was 1hour and 20 minutes and when called to check on progress had a rude abrupt response telling me he didn't know where our driver was. Food was cold and hard. Extremely poor service and experience.

Garlic bread was solid, nachos were ok but chilli and beans were very bland, jalapeño poppers and cakes were tasty.

Great location in busy greenwich town centre, nice atmosphere. Typical mexican food. Decor nice. Great cocktails. Only gripe is tables are bit too close to each other so not much privacy. Staff friendly.

Siamo entrate lasciandoci convincere dal proprietario che era fuori a fare pubblicità; il cibo è discreto, le porzioni sono abbondanti, l'ambiente simpatico anche se lo spazio tra i tavoli è un po' stretto. Gli avrei anche dato un pallino in più se non fosse stato che lo stesso proprietario ci aveva proposto il prezzo del menù comprensivo di bibite, ma alla fine le bibite ce le ha fatte pagare comunque. Quando me ne sono accorta, con lo scontrino alla mano ho fatto notare la cosa, allora lui mi ha ridato indietro una sterlina (acqua più bibita erano 4,5 sterline); a quel punto ho lasciato perdere perché non avevo voglia di litigare e sono uscita, ma di sicuro non ci tornerò.

We were looking for somewhere child friendly in Greenwich on a busy Saturday lunchtime and chose Desparados.The staff were friendly and it is definitely a family friendly place.The location is good, right in the heart of Greenwich and close to the Cutty Sark and DLR station.The food was OK, but nothing special. Not particularly authentic Mexican, but wasn't expecting it to be.Also they automatically add 10% service charge to the bill .... and I am not a fan of places that do this. I would happily have added 10% for the service which was good, but prefer to have the choice.

Great location right in the centre of Greenwich, great atmosphere, great service and great food! Paella on the lunch menu was.... Great ! And the other food served around looked and smelled great.Only dropped a star as gents out of action and had to use the ladies!

Mexican place that can't make burritos, don't really know about other items but the burritos were horrible, would no recommend to anyone maybe someone I didn't like.

Had some diner here during a business trip to London. The owner convinced us to come in a have a diner, offering the first beer on the house.The food was good and so was the service, but nothing special about it.Nice place to have some diner and would go back if I stayed close to this restaurant again. However there is no reason to justify some extra travel to go here.

All good and well, however I ordered a rare steak and received a well done one. Apart from that all good.
