Chicken and lamb Karahi one of the best in west midland. Proper desi style. Food taste and texture is the best like home cooking. Me & my friends always visit there at least once in month. I recommend everyone who likes desi style Karahi must try Desi Karahi.

After reading few reviews decided to try this place out and was not disappointed..ordered full.lamb karai which was very good..I ordered 8 naans to start with but when a few came out and when I saw the Size if them decided to cancel a few ...they were massive very good value for money.. also lamb chops and kebabs were very good 👍

Good place. Best curry house in the Alum Rock area. Just a bit far from the main Alum Rock area. It gets really crowded late at night. I would recommend going around evening time to get the same quality food but in a much relaxed atmosphere. Their salad and sauces are one of the best in Birmingham. If u wanna get chicken kebab, go for keema naan I would suggest, it's better than their kebab. Kebab is not as good as their other food options.

Zero hygiene, if they can’t keep the outside street clean, imagine what their kitchen is like. Saw the guy working on the grill, just wiping the metal grill skewers and just reloading them with fresh meat, no washing involved. Then the way they handle food is wild, like saw the waiter transferring rice to a container with his fingers, rather than grabbing a spoon real quick. Then service is rubbish, takes forever to come take the order, and even longer for them to microwave the ready made curries, then the uncle at the grill is arrogant in the way he spoke to another customer who came in to ask for a takeaway menu. Gives you the runs afterwards, so avoid if you can 👌 plus other customers here just stare at you, like animals

The food was average. I requested a secluded spot for my family as the ladies wear niqab. They offered to put up a screen, but placed us right next to the bathroom so the wall kept getting knocked over, there was no privacy at all and the smell of urine wafted over us from the bathroom every time the door was opened. I had to ask for part of our order because it was forgotten. I also had to hunt down napkins because none were given. There was an attempt at service, but it fell short.

Food was nice, service was good however the only downside was when we asked for dessert we were told they’ve run out of cake, Gajrela and only have 2 plates of rasmalai left, Really ?? There was 12 of us and we were really disappointed and ended up going elsewhere for dessert. How can such a big restaurant on a busy Sunday have no desserts?

as somone with limited mobility the decking i have to by pass, is very challenging a few friends and the waiter helped me in . had to asl several times for extra chilli sauce and mint sauce Parking a nightmare get a take out.

Great food but it had no fried onions and very little mint yogurt. Very expensive for what we received.

Food was not too bad, but their customer service is horrible. It was so quiet still they take too long to serve . Even just for 2 teas we had to wait for around 10 minutes which is hilarious. They also don’t accept card payment and there is no notice board in any visible point. Worst scenario is when I asked them why you are not keeping any notice in your front door that you don’t accept card, they started arguing. Seriously? This is how you deal with your customers complain. So disappointed with their service.

One word beautiful , meat was so tender and plenty of it probably one of the best Baltic I’ve had, chicken wings was also great full of flavour nan bread was great as well bigger than the ones I normally get am not from area but if back will definitely order again. I went to Desi Karahi with my family. When we walked into the restaurant we was escorted to our tables which was very dirty and I had to request for the table to be cleaned. When the waiter came he did not seem bothered just staring at us. We ordered Chicken Sheekh, Chicken Karahi and Naan. When the chicken sheekh kebab arrived it tasted bland and the chicken seemed weird in texture. The Karahi was not spicy enough and was tasteless. The Naan was really crumbly and tasted strange. Beware the restaurant only accepts cash which is quite strange to be honest. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

OH MY GOD this was the worst food I have ever ever tasted in my whole life bro it was rubbish, tasteless ,rotten ,moldy,hairy, ,stinky ,dirty food Extremley rude staff and the guy who served me turned around and farted on my food and said the f word NEVER COME HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Visited Desi Karhai for what will definitely be the last time. From the get-go, the ambiance hits you with an unwelcome vibe, mirroring the demeanor of the bald Asian manager in his 40s, decked out in a light green-gray shirt, who evidently skipped the class on respect and decency. His stinginess with salads and sauces was as notable as it was disappointing, seemingly guarding them as if they were rare treasures. The place itself is far from clean, adding to an overall uncomfortable dining atmosphere. The food, however, takes the cake for being notably subpar - dry, stale, and emitting an odor that should have been a warning sign. For those intrigued by the concept of food poisoning, this establishment might just fulfill that curiosity. My personal aftermath was an upset stomach that firmly stamped my decision to never return. The absolute lack of customer service skills only adds to the dismal experience, making dining here feel like an exercise in caution. Having once been a regular, it's disheartening to witness such a precipitous drop in standards. Consider this a warning: if you value your dining experience and well-being, steer clear of Desi Karhai. This place has regrettably become synonymous with what to avoid at all costs when eating out.

The best authentic mixed grill in Birmingham. Tastes like you're back home with great portions and value for money. Definitely will be coming back.
