Derby Grill in Derby

First time we have ordered from here. Had the chicken and kofte mix kebab with naan and chips. My friend had chicken tikka kebab with pitta and chips. We ate the LOT! The chips were tasty, the naan and pitta was soft and light and our meat was fresh. It all tasted very fresh and not greasy at all. Very happy and will be returning a lot.

We used to visit here in my student days and the Cheesy chips are just as yummy as they were back then. Love it

Thought a we would try the mega grill with cheesy chips. Hardly any salad Luke warm no cheese on chips nothing like Facebook page really disappointed. As can see salad was sprinkled lettuce you can just spot it in pic

Went in expecting usual kebab, came out as a regular. Service treats you like life long friends with the best food that can be offered around.

We came across this place whilst being on Covid lock down and ended up with it purely as "it was open and delivered" thank goodness it was !!We have used it around 6/7 times and had quite a variety from the menu, we have tried kebabs/pizza/side orders, have to say we haven't had a disappointing meal yet all have been cooked beautifully, decent portions and fresh salad and also delivered hot, even the delivery drivers are pleasant and polite wishing you a good evening/meal. The hubby even rates this place ( trust me he never has a good word to say , so that is high praise !!!!) If I had to pick a recommendation the chicken & shish kebabs.....beautiful

I ordered the Special mixed grill kebab. Grilled Chicken, grilled lamb, grilled kofta and Donner meat (highly recommend if you’re unsure of what to order) it came with a lovely portion of salad including red cabbage, chilli, tomato, cucumber etc... and a nice sized Pitta bread too. The meat was exceptional, such high quality and cooked to perfection, I didn’t find one bit of grissle or toughness within the donner that you usually tend to find. The grilled lamb was the highlight for me, so tender and juicy and the flavour was top quality. Although this being said every part of it was a highlight I really didn’t expect it to be this sort of quality originally. On top of this service was fast and friendly, I ordered on Uber eats and they followed instructions on my order perfectly. I will recommend this place to so many people, great value for money, great food, great service. Can’t get much better than that. Looking forward to my next order!

Went into this take away as it looked good from the outside looking in at the food on display. I ordered veg pizza for me and a Lamb kebab. It cost getting on for £20 We walked along the street eating the food . The first bin we came to the food if you could call it that was swiftly thrown into the bin. The Lamb was like lumps of rubber bullets the pizza tasted of nothing but Salt. Horrible experience and we will never ever go into the place ever again. A total waste of hard earnt money. Take a tip . Don't waste your time and money.

I've been coming here for many years and have had few issues with their food however, their customer care is less desired. Their attitude is poor if you're not a regular, as many of the other reviewers have described. It is totally unfair to describe their quality of food as terrible. They only have the finest cuts of chicken, lamb and other meats, except the donna as I'll mention later in the review. The quality of the salad is the best in town!. The condiments are lacking, especially their yoghurt mint, its far too bitter, their sweet chilli sauce is like treacle, way too thick albeit very tasty.I'm not a fan of pitta breads with my kebabs but asking for a naan bread is extra, but the quality is most definitely below average.I do tend to stay away from their donna meat as it has always been too rubbery. Service... I am coming to the conclusion that their miserable demeanour is just their normal nature and a lot of people confuse this for arrogance, Still, I am unsure, too.As said, I cannot fault their fresh style of cooking all of their kebab skewers to order and of which, all are visible to the customers upon arrival. The shop is tiny and five customer over-fill the place. You really need to understand that this place is in the busiest part of town for revellers and does attract many, many drunken idiots, that probably the cause of their demeanour, having to deal with such idiots night after night.Having said all of this, as an authentic Turkish kebab house, you won't find any better in Derby.All I will say is, if you go around to that filthy dive on Cheapside as opposed to Derby Grill, you will be back here in a flash!!

Popped in here after couple of drinks out. Ordered large kebab and chips. Man serving was very ignorant and rude. Food was not great and very small portion for saying it was a large. Will not return here and will also warn others.

Rude staff, ordered a dinner kebab and chips had to pay 50p exits for pitta bread, no problem. Man rudely gave food, meat chips and pitta. Asked where salad and sauces were. Snatched food from me and smothered with tomato sauce. I asked for chill and mint sauce and he looked at me like I was crazy!

I used to love this place but now have to say that it’s not what it used to be. The kebab I have always had comes with a skewer of mushrooms and peppers usually but when I ordered last time this was missing so I asked for it and was told pretty much to shut up and have what I was given. When I got home and ate the food I was shocked to find the chicken was not cooked properly and portion size was disappointing especially as these are by no means cheap. That is the very last time I am going here and will be back to McTurks who are very very friendly and always provide quality food.

Piss poor customer service . Food tastes like crap and they dont send the correct order ! Avoid at all costs !

Went for a burger and chips, the service provided was very friendly and interactive as with customers around me. The food was also one the best I've ever had and the place will become a regular. The food was also of great value, cheap pricing for even greater food.

Ordered a SIMPLE meal Kebab meat chip cheese garlic mayo in a naan Received Kebab meat chips and naan Called several times to argue with the ‘manager’ who also disputed Times of ordering Personally I’d not feed my dogs this food TERRIBLE

Tried Derby grill for the first time today. Very impressed, food was hot and tasty and staff friendly and accommodating. Had the Donna and mixed kebab which were both good. And the salad was a nice mix rather than the piles of grated cabbage and onion you get at other kebab places.

I would say the food is overpriced. The owner is always miserable and they charge 50p to use your card which is shocking for a takeaway. I’m a student and they never offer a decent discount. The cheesy garlic bread is amazing but for £5 a little steep.

Went for a takeaway after going to the pub and the service was ridiculous. The staff were rude; and the cheese on the cheesy chips wasn’t even melted! When I asked them if they could melt the cheese they refused and I had take them home and melt them in the microwave!! So much for a ready to eat takeaway dinner!!

Ordered 3 mozzarella sticks for £1.50 and plain chips for £1.50. £3 in total. Gave in a £10 note and got £2 change, when I complained, they refused to give me any more money because they claim to have given me the correct change. Alright food for the price but the customer service should make the owner feel ashamed. Will not be going back if I have a choice, and if I do have to go back, I'll be sure to give in the exact amount so they can't mess up the change!!!

I ordered a chicken tikka kebab with chilli sauce and what I was given was nothing short of a disgrace. Firstly the chicken was cut in to pieces that were far too large and inedible without a knife and fork. Secondly the sauce accompanying the chicken was some sort of tomato reduction and had no heat whatsoever comparative to what I ordered. The service was slow and given what I received, was most certainly not worth the wait. Whoever reads this; save yourself time, money and your tastebuds and never visit this shambles of a takeaway. Sarry's next to the church is a far better alternative.

Used to love this place but I'm unable to amend review on justeat. They got order completely wrong and when it arrived - sloppy kebab mainly salad - they said they would not help out and send another. Very rude. Chicken still had the tendons attached to it and the pitta was like a wet cloth. Avoid.

Always go after a night out, what a mistake!!

Instead of a restaurant meal my colleague suggested a lamb kebab from here. Slightly dubious I gave it a go and very pleasantly surprised. It's a takeaway so no frills but the lamb was freshly cooked lean and tasty, loaded into a pitta with salad and chilli sauce. Very tasty. And no after effects

I visited this takeaway with my boyfriend after all the great We ordered starters Chicken Kebab with salads and chips are both of which were delicious - no complaints at all. Mains on the other hand were a slight let down. My boyfriend ordered the Donor kebab. The Donor Kebab was nicely presented portion of size, however the lamb was clearly over cooked as it was very chewy and tough on the palette.
