Just had large haddock , chips and peas . Really well cooked batter worth 8 out 10 . Sorry fish bits you are 7 out 10 with your very thin fish and oily chips !

This has got to be the best fish and chip shop that I have been to. I got pie, chips and gravy for £6.50. The chips were freshly cooked, and I might add that they weren't greasy and the pie and gravy were very flavoursome. It was a generous portion, too. The server was very polite, and I am only down here for another 2 weeks and will definitely be going back to sample more off the menu. If you like me, and you are just visiting the area, do yourself a favour and try Dennis fish bar. You won't be disappointed.

Just ordered doner kebab and cod and chips online, ready when I arrivd, lovely chat with lady behind counter, kebab was delicious, ate it all way home

Detoured off the A1 on a road trip and fancied fish n chips. Good reviews brought me to Dennis Fish Bar. Service was fast n friendly. Fish and chips were excellent. Fresh tasty chips and good piece of cod with crispy batter. Only let down was the vile ketchup and I think the oil needs a change as it tainted the taste a bit. I'd happily go back but will take my own ketchup. 👍 Large Cod £5.80, chips £2.40, mushy peas £1.20.

Portions are large, one bag of chips would be ample for 2 or more, slightly more expensive than other chip shops due to not having the mini fish deal however will definitely return, the batter on the fish and sausage was lovely

We ordered two portions of large battered sausage and chips. Chips were £2.40 and sausages were £1.80. The chips were freshly cooked and steaming hot and so was one of the sausages. The other had been hanging around for a while so was quite cold. Overall, very ordinary. The batter on the sausages was hard and thin, but the chips were quite good and the portion wasn't too bad. The lady who served us was lovely. The shop isn't the greatest looking and if other chip shops in the area weren't closed (and that was a lot) we wouldn't have gone and probably won't go back

Cod and Chips was good. Good size portion and tasty, chips weren't greasy and the fish was white and fresh.

Stopped off on the way and thoroughly enjoyed our 4 cod n 2 large chips. Could easily have fed another 2 folk!!

Wanted a delivery but the phone was off hook for over 30 minutes.

Fish and chips meant to be large but not enough to feed a toddler, the fish is tiny and tastes more like pike than cod/haddock.

We travel from Cusworth for our fish and chips from here, they are gorgeous. The pizzas are very ni e as well. Definitely recommend.

The food from this chip shop is very good, although recently they did do something that I didn't like. All of the sauce pots (mushy peas, baked beans, gravy, curry sauce), are on view behind the counter. Recently I ordered a large peas with my meal, but the staff member picked up a large pot and for some reason went out the back to fill it; now there might be a perfectly good explanation for why she did this, but after watching a television programme about food outlets a few years ago, and seeing some disgusting videos of what is sometimes done to peoples food, I always like to see my food served in front of me. As soon as I got home I threw the peas away, and opened a tin of baked beans instead. Other than this, I am happy with the food and the service that I have received from here.....

Very good local Chippy, caters for all tastes, Fish n Chips to Chili. Staff are very polite and helpful, Reccomended when in Hexthorpe.

Drove to your chip shop at 9.30 on sunday night and the shop is shut when Google says it is open till 10pm on Sunday nights thanks for that sons crying now

This chip shop is great, their chips are always amazing. Sometimes takes a whike to get the food because they cook it all fresh but it's worth the wait.

Always lovely food from here. The large fish do not dissapoint. The gravy is amazing. Curry sauce isnt too spicy. The sausages are still pork. Large chips feeds two or more. Value for money. They also do chicken, kebabs and pizza. Tried most things and never been dissapointed. Worth trying.

I had been told by someone when I was in hospital about this place and she was right it is absolutely beautiful fish and chips and the spam friters were cooked to perfection all in all a beautiful not expensive Meal!! Tòp marks to Dennis Fish Bar. I will definitely be a using again and again xxx

I always knew the food was good and some of my family from Gloucester came up the other weekend and they both said it was the best fish and chips they had had in years.

Visited the father in law for the evening and he suggested we all have take out. This is only up the road from him so we chose here. Everything we ordered was to high quality, for a take out. The pizzas are Cooked to perfection! ~ There is no grease at all. ~ They are thin crust but not waffer thin, they have the right amount of base ~ the base is soft Definitely one of the best pizzas from a take out iv had for a while. The chips are proper chippy chips. The potatoes frites are to die for. Definitely visit here !!
