The best pistachio ice cream I’ve probably ever had, and I’ve tried many in Italy! I was disappointed that I had missed out on the tiramisu but not for too long because the creamy pistachio with a slight saltiness was heavenly

The very best ice cream I have had in my 48 years of life.Not only a well trained aficionado (time on the gelateria circuit in Bologna) but a well executed shop experience too.Choose from pistachio (brontes from Sicily), flor di latte, tiramisu, strawberries, salted caramel. Waffle cones (natch) chocolate dipped or not. Sprinkles and wafers too. Best bit? Surely the free ice cream for my daschund. His own little cone for a four legged ice cream nut.You could not be disappointed.

Bought an ice cream while visiting Totnes. Numerous flavours and they were all delicious. Definitely worth a visit.

Bumped into this amazing place by accident. I had the lemon tart ....Oh wow the best ever ice cream (sorry Gelato). Really friendly people and they make it fresh every day.! You have to find this place even if you're just passing though Totnes.

I love a Mocha. But today's Mocha was the best. I have not tasted anything like this. Rich in chocolate and espresso perfectly balanced. Its another level Good bye to Costa's Mocha!! Hello to Delphini's Mocha. Also I had to have a cheeky and Dark Chocolate and Pistachio Gelato, for this morning brunch. Simply amazing!! smooth and tasty. I have been to Italy and the Gelato are incredible. But now I don't feel I have to travel as far to get the same experience as it is on my doorstep.

We are semi-local and stumbled on this place last week. The gelato was incredible and the premises super clean. It’s a ‘one in the shop’ policy so we felt very safe in the current climate. Worth a visit.

Just had an incredible Italian gelato here after a hot sunny day. I'm Italian and found this by chance while out on a walk, what a pleasant surprise it was! May have to go back to Totnes more often..

I'm in Rome right now (Oct 2019) having a pistachio gelato from one of their best Gelateria by the Pantheon. Just wanted to let you know that your Pistachio gelato totally knocks the spots off the best Rome has to offer. Keep doing what you're doing buddy. Your ice cream rocks!

An awesome selection of Gelato which is the perfect reminder of my trip to Italy! Classic flavours and beautifully crafted. I’m dairy free nowadays and didn’t think I would enjoy the vegan gelato - I was wrong, it was amazing. A perfect ending to a lunch in Totnes or just a snack between meals. I can’t wait for my next visit!

Fantastic gelato - ask them to tell you why it's not ice cream! This is not a cheap option but they use quality ingredients and the result is delicious. They change the flavours regularly and also offer dairy free options. Well worth a visit.

We use this ice cream parlour a lot. We also encourage others to use it as it is without a doubt, the best ice cream for miles around. My favourite is the pistachio closely followed by the amareno cherry.

What a great gelato shop, with the most amazing gelato we have ever tried!Apparently the owner gets up every morning at 5am to make all his gelatos fresh and they looked amazing. His partner and another girl work in the shop and are only too happy to provide samples of flavours you are considering, and so we asked to try the raspberry and lime - it was wonderful. This should be a must visit for anyone visiting Totnes!

I live not too far from Delphini’s, and walk by on most days. It is difficult to resist their gelato, which I try to do as often as I can otherwise I would be much fatter and much poorer. My favourite is the salted caramel.

Incredible ice-cream - especially the cherry and caramel, dark Belgium chocolate... ice-cream heaven!! £££

Don’t miss this for desert (or a late summer snack). Just excellent gelato and great customer service from Eleanor. Overused to say this but got to be the best gelato I’ve had in the UK - esp the cherry & pistachio.

The vegan hazelnut ice cream is prob the best ice cream we’ve had for a long long time Went back an hour later for another and they’d sold out ( hardly surprising! ) so had the vegan chocolate and that was great too

Stumbled across this little gem today and noticed they do vegan and gluten free options. I’ve never tried gelato before and all I can say is WOW!

We called in for an ice cream. It was Ab Fab. All homemade and you can tell from his enthusiasm, the ice cream man puts his heart and soul into his work. Pistachio is my favourite and I have not tasted a better one than I had from here. Keep up the good work.

It would be easy to walk right past this unassuming little gelato shop. In fact my fella and I nearly did. I am so glad we stepped inside, to be greeted with a warm smile and an explanation of how the homemade gelato is made. We had the best hazelnut and lemon tart gelatos that we have ever had anywhere in Devon. We will be returning soon. :-)

Perfect ice cream. Taste amazing! Staff is very friendly and happy to see they using eco products and reducing plastic.

We called in twice in the time we were in town first was a citrus fruit scoop then second time caramel and a hazelnut a scoop of each absolutely lovely we always call in every time we go there can definitely recommend

We were staying at the campsite at Steamer Quay & spotted a poster about this place. We were only in Totnes for the weekend but did manage to fit in two visits - flavours were amazing, we were just sorry to have missed the Sicilian lemon tart flavour. So worth the extra money & portions are so generous - am sure it did us some good!

Popped into Delphinis after a hike up the high street!...gorgeous salted caramel flavor for me and Strawberry and cream for my hubby. This place is a must when you're in Totnes!

The gelato here is incredible! Tried the hazelnut, which is vegan! You would never be able to tell because it is so creamy and delicious. Service with a smile too, lovely friendly owner who served us. Thank you!!

Popped in and found the most gorgeous genuine Italian style ice cream. A bit more pricey than your normal cone but sooooo worth it.

Prijs is hoger dan in de andere winkels of koffiebars maar het is het waard. Heerlijk ijs dat iedere dag vers bereid wordt door de ijsmeester himself.

The best gelato , so delicious and creamy. I’ve eaten plenty of gelato and this was the best I’ve had anywhere. We both tried black cherry , so so good, creamy and delicious. A little more to pay but don’t pass by, it’s so worth the cost.

Delphini's Gelato is honestly the best ice cream (gelato!!) I've ever had. It's smooth, creamy, bursting with delicious fresh flavours, and all completely handmade fresh each morning. You will not be disappointed! The flavours available are always changing (last year's Citrus Grove is my favourite!) and there's usually something new to try. We've made quite a habit of popping in to buy gelato, chat with Johan the owner, and even after all of last summer and all of what we've had so far, we aren't sick of it yet.

Always the most delicious, unusual flavours and vegan options. My weekly treat! Good coffee too. Hard to choose flavours though...

Really lovely gelato with a good selection of dairy free and vegan options. Gave our toddler a tiny cone which was lovely as she can't manage a big one. Highly recommended.

Where to start.. I wouldn't be writing this review if it weren't for the owners great care and knowledge about allergens and cross contamination. As a Coeliac I often miss out on ice-cream/gelato as the risk is too high. After a discussion with the owner and seeing first hand how much care he put into minimising this risk, I was happy just to have something fun to enjoy, but it was so much more than that.

I can't express how delicious this ice cream is. It's just so good. They even have dairy free ice cream which is so creamy you would never guess. The guy that runs this shop hand makes all the ice-cream using the best ingredients. It's a special experience, definitely not to be missed!!!

We got ice cream every day of our holiday and cant wait to return! Lemon tart was my favourite (though not what I would have instinctively chosen but so glad I did!!!) Pistaccio was the favourite of my vegan girlfriend :) great portions and fair pricing

I've literally never had such a delicious ice cream. Home made by the owner, I had the sicilian pistachio vegan ice-cream (made with oat milk). I wasn't even going to order ice cream - I was just getting it for the kids but after a taster, I just couldn't help myself!

We called in for an ice cream. It was absolutely taters out there but it didn’t stop me having one of these fantastic ice creams. My wife had the amaretto cherry in a small choc cone and I had pistachio in a medium choc cone. Loads of ice cream and both were great. I ate all my pistachio and finished off the amaretto too. Will definitely be back for more pistachio soon.

This is a real gem. The ice cream/gelato/sorbet is simply to die for. Totnes is so lucky to have this place - he comes in early in the morning and makes all the products himself, and you can really taste the difference! Really friendly, knowledgable and skilled. I had my first coffee here today and I would go so far as to say it's the best in town. Fair-trade, organic and two shot of espresso in my flat white - great value and delicious! A staple for the Easter - Autumn season! Visitors to Totnes - don't miss out!!!

Delphinos has reopened again today. GREAT NEWS as this is my favourite shop in Totnes and the best Ice Cream/Gelato anywhere. I loved the Pistacio, and Italian Hot Chocolate. You MUST give it a try - Love It.

This places is the cutest ice cream parlour! Really quirky flavours and delicious taste. It's run by the nicest guy who went to Schumacher College. I love it and recommend it highly.

Ohmygoodness the pistachio gelato is soooooo good. Every bit as good as the ice cream I had in Rome earlier this year. So good we had to go back for another the following day. This is a little takeaway with a couple of bar stools for those who want to eat in. They have around 8-10 flavours on offer and they are by far the nicest ice creams I have had in Devon. Well done guys!

Best ice cream we had in Devon for the whole two weeks. Tasted smooth and much like real Italian gelato. The cherry and the chocolate were amazing together! Good portions and reasonably priced in comparison to other Devon ice-creams we had tried. Quaint shop, shame there were only 3 stools to eat inside. No doubt they will need larger premises very soon!

We love Delphini's. I am impressed every time I go by the choice of flavours and friendly service. My favourite is the dark chocolate dairy free, but also love the coffee and the Belgian chocolate flavours. We take all our visitors here.

Wonderful authentic gelato on the high street. Great flavours. Had to run back to get a replacement ice cream after 5 year old son dropped his on the footpath - the server insisted upon providing a free replacement when finding out why I was back. Very nice touch. Will be back!

I am so happy to have found Delphini’s. It meant my grandchildren and I could have vegan gelato in vegan cones. And what a choice of flavours which I’m told change often. I chose a salted peanut and the children went for the berry one. This is now on our favourite list.

We were visiting Totnes and came across Delphini's near closing time and i noticed they catered for gluten and vegan diets..i am gluten & dairy intolletant..i tried the Vegan Chocolate Gelato in a gluten free cone and it was heavenly and has to be the best ice cream i have ever tried and being a chef i have been lucky enough to have tried some great ice creams.. It was so amazing my wife and i returned the next day at opening time where i had the same gelato and my wife had an exquisite Strawberries & Cream Gelato followed by a delicious Oat milk Latte and yet again probably one of the best coffees we have had. PLEASE try this place its a truely wonderful experience.

No need to wake up and smell this coffee - there’s no chance you’d sleep through the experience. The coffee tastes as good as it smells, and that is saying something. No, actually it’s saying everything. Taste the Pure Earth brew at your own risk, for you may never enjoy another cup as much.

Was amazing ice cream plus was so excited that they had gluten free cones as never before have had a gluten free cone from an ice cream shop before- always have to ask for ice cream in a cup. Asked them what flavours were gluten free- it was most of them- then they said you can have it in a gluten free cone if you like- was so thrilled about this! Super tasty ice creams!! The people who work there are just so friendly plus super lovely plus their product is phenomenal so truly hope they go from success to success to success!! They liked our Dalmatian Sebastian :-) which was also pretty cool!

Delphini's is an oasis in a dairy an soya filled iceream existence. Such a joy to get such tasty treats for every family member, regardless of our allergies. SUCH a find!

I can’t praise Delphini’s enough. The Gelato is freshly made with organic ingredients and tastes superb. There is always an interesting choice of flavours. We live near Totnes and get tempted into Delphini’s regularly. This is a one man business that deserves to thrive.

Hands-down the best place for ice-cream in the area. Not had any this good outside of Italy! Look out for the hazelnut one which is a particular favourite but new flavours all the time!

An ever changing selection of freshly made flavours. The strawberry is amazing, so is the cherry, the pistachio, the salted peanut, the lemon pie.... as you can tell we enjoyed our first visit so much we went back to try the orher flavours and were delighted to find a fresh selection. The citrus selection is a. fabulously grown up option. A must visit!

The best ice cream we've tasted in a long time. Beautiful taste and flavours, even the cone was delicious. It was pouring with rain when we visited however this didn't put us off and we were even offered a free coffee with our ice cream. Hand made with love, we could tell this even with a brief visit. A couple more stalls inside the shop would be nice to escape the rain.

Amazing place. Friendly staff and great ice cream. I asked how he made the chocolate orange ice cream taste so much like Terry's chocolate orange and obviously it was because it was about 70% melted chocolate orange! I think this is how they approach all their recipes, which is fine by me. New flavours each week too. Wish I lived closer

I used to think that the best hot chocolate I have ever had, was in St. Marks Square, Venice. I had a hot chocolate here at Delphini’s today, in Totnes, and it was by far the best, ever. It was so thick one could almost leave the spoon standing in it. It was silky smooth, and tasted like dark chocolate which was offset by the very fresh organic cream on top. I will definitely be back. Maybe next time I will try one of their Icecreams!

HEADS UP: yesterday customers were treated to a work-in-progress sample of cioccolata calda - thick, perfectly balanced molten chocolate pot for those autumn days when ordinary hot choc won't cut it. I have only tasted its like a handful of times before in this life. Official launch of the luscious brew in several flavours is mooted for Friday 29 Sept.
