The deli staff - Akhil and Amjad - were great ( polite and cheery ) as we came into the hotel after the restaurant had closed. They took our orders and served us promptly, with smiles. An enjoyable experience for us as we were tired. Smiles are so welcome at the end of a busy day

I come to this hotel with my husband every year to celebrate the holiday season , everything is good about the hotel except this time a worker called Nasima who workes in the coffee shop downstairs served us a waffle with a long black hair in it , I was very shocked since this usually never happened to us especially in this hotel , she was not wearing any gloves or a head cap , it is very unfortunate to find something like this in a classy hotel of this kind !

Pasé un largo fin de semana aquí con mamá. Un hotel que hemos visitado muchas veces durante muchos años. Antes de partir nos deleitamos con un pastel y una taza de café. Estuvo delicioso. Un final perfecto para unos días perfectos. X

Este restaurante fica no Amba Hotel e é uma excelente opção para quem quer comer carnes. A comida é de qualidade, o atendimento muito bom e os preços um pouco acima da média.

I would have been better if we went earlier but we arrived 4pm, sandwich was a little bit too dry, cakes just so so, however staff were friendly and helpful, it seem a quick snack was okay but to enjoy its afternoon tea, I don't seen anything special or attractive on the experience I had on 17th Jan.

I often use the Deli at this hotel and always enjoy the special experience. The service is truly excellent! Renata, who is often serving, really makes my visit so special. Always smiling, she is great at her job, She is a true natural when it comes to dealing with customers, and recommending some tasty dishes! There is always a nice selection of snacks, pastries and hot dishes. Thanks Renata for the special service!

I had afternoon tea with my sister and a friend on a Saturday afternoon and we were so impressed with the customer service from everyone. Matthew, who welcomed us, the lady who looked after our table (whose name I didn’t get, sorry, but she made a taster of tea for my friend who couldn’t decide), and the chef who ensured my friend had egg free cakes. The afternoon tea was lovely but it was the customer service that made it an outstanding afternoon.

The deli is super nice to grab some snacks! It has a lot of diversity and delicious coffee. There was this very kind young lady, who's called Cecilia who is working there! She served me so well! I really recommend this place and definitely coming back!

Had a small snack and enjoyed it. The view and decor is really pleasing and enhances the overall experience.

The Deli is a bright modern area in the hotel with plenty of well spaced comfortable seating. After placing my order for a coffee (Costa) it was delivered to my table promptly. There are plenty of power outlets to plug your lap top into and also usb connections available to recharge your phone. The Wi-Fi is free and very fast so it was easy to get logged on and catch up on the days emails in a nice relaxing atmosphere. I was asked if I required another coffee or other drink when the waitress noticed I had finished the one ordered on arrival without feeling that I was obliged to have one. I highly recommend the Deli if you want a good cup of Coffee served with a smile in a relaxing environment.

The Deli was ideal for a quick snack for us as we arrived later at night. The baguettes were delicious, just all we needed after a long day traveling.

We have had breakfast here a few times. The quality and variety of meals available and friendly staff will make you return. Highly recommended.

Yet another great feature by Amba Marble Arch. Their Deli by the lobby is a perfect place to chill, delicious cxoffes and pastries are available. Really enjoyed te service and the friendly staff.

I had the club sandwich which was excellent together with some sparkling water and a glas of prosecco. The staff is really friendly. The only comment that I have is that the menu is exactly the same all the time in all the locations in the hotel.

The sandwiches was lovely, with lots off filling and great taste. the scones was ok, nothing special. The creamcake was good, so was the cheesecake. There should have been something with chocolate in it tough. Would liked more off the sandwiches and less off the cakes..

Three friends and myself attended the hotel for afternoon tea on 28th June and a lovely time was had by all. Comfortable surroundings and we were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived. We received excellent service from Victoria, who was delightful, and the whole experience was perfect and one we would wish to repeat.

My friend and I went to the Delicacy in the Thistle hotel Marble Arch last week and experienced one of the best champagne teas. My friend who is gluten free could not have asked a better selection of sandwiches, scones and cakes, very impressed. The service was very prompt, yet discrete.Pleasant surroundings. I cannot reply to the restaurant comments as the Delicacy is set in a open area away from the restaurant.

I recently enjoyed an afternoon tea at Thistle Marble Arch.As soon as we walked in we received fantastic service from Roxanna.The afternoon tea was one of the best i have had! The cakes were delicious, the scones was warm and the sandwiches were a nice mixture of filings and was very impressed when we were given and offered more sandwiches! Our server was Roxanna who couldn't have been more welcoming, friendly and helpful and give us exceptional service! The setting was lovely! Thank you to all the staff from Delicacy for wonderful afternoon (special to Roxanna)! I recommend highly and hope to return for another tea very soon!!!!

We had afternoon tea hear last Saturday,Its such a lovely relaxed atmosphere.The tea was lovely the the staff Roxanna and Kasia couldn't have been more helpful and pleasant! will defiantly be back soon.

I was bought this as a gift from GroupOn. I went along with my Mum and the hotel was lovely and we were greeted by friendly staff. We were seated straight away and brought over 2 glasses of Prosecco. About 10 minutes after we were bought our afternoon tea,finger sandwiches,scones and lots of cakes. We ordered more sandwiches and they were at no extra cost. I never thought a cucumber sandwich could taste so could but it was all delicious. We then ordered our tea which was served to us quickly. Deffinately will go back again. 5 star for food and service,staff so friendly and will do what they can for you.

This was a gift through Groupon - and you never know quite what to expect. From the time we arrived we were met with smiling faces and very courteous staff. We had a glass of champagne each, a selection of teas to choose from, cut sandwiches, scones with jam and clotted cream and cakes. We were offered more sandwiches, cakes etc if we wanted. It was a welcoming atmosphere and we had a lovely leisurely afternoon tea.We were served by Roxana, who was charming.

I booked this afternoon tea on Groupon. It was a lot nicer than I was expecting! The set up was lovely- there were enough people to create background chat but wasn't too cramped. All the tables had crisp white tableclothes on. The waitresses (Roxana and Roma) were really attentive and constantly offered more sandwiches and tea. We had the bubbly which was a nice addition. The food was gorgeous- but don't eat much before- there is a lot of it!! The selection of teas was good and they didn't rush you at all. Was a lovely break to the hustle and bustle of London and a lovely treat!

Afternoon lunch with my husband. & we loved it - would go again. Food was lovely, service was great, very friendly atmosphere. Great service by Steve & all staff were very friendly.

I was treated to afternoon tea with my sisters and cousin for my birthday. All staff were polite and attentive . Specials thanks to Steven who made the afternoon very memorable .. He made us feel relaxed and met our needs individually and jointly.. me and my sisters took my mum here for a belated mothers day gift...and we absolutely loved it. we had a very warm welcome from the offset, and was even given a free glass of champagne :) we were served by Urmila who took care of us and even helped with my dietary needs ( which i failed to provide when i booked the table) i would 100% reccommend and go again. food was lovely, tea was great... overall a wonderful experience and left us giddy from the sugar rush.

A nice 'Afternoon Tea for two' at The Thistle Marble Arch - how wrong we was, what a bad experience ! The Cafe was not busy and the service was poor 20 mins before anyone came over to see what we would like to order. A further 15 mins before our tray of afternoon food and pot of tea arrived. 4 Scones (stale) 4 sandwiches 1 inch x 4 inches and a dolly mixture of cakes - very poor for £40.00! sorry to say we was not offered a further pot of tea.

I went to this hotel for afternoon tea with my sister we had a lovely relaxing tea The waitress Diane was very helpful and looked after us very well Would definitely recommend this hotel.

I came here with my mum for her mothers day present and we both thoroughly enjoyed it. It was the perfect afternoon tea; relaxing and lovely. Our waitress 'Diane' was so efficient and lovely & friendly.My mum commented on how gorgeous the scones were, and when we expressed that we didn't eat one of the sandwiches, they really went out of their way to get us some more that we did like. We would highly recommend it here!!

I made a reservation for 4 people, I, my husband and two children, our waitress was Roxanna, was very attentive to us, brought us ice cream for children, juices, chocolate, sandwiches were delicious cakes too !! ! do not wait to book again !! We highly recommend ours Roxanna waitress !!!

Came here with my mum for a belated Mothers day gift.We both had a really lovely, relaxing afternoon. The sandwiches and treats were delicious and the scones were still warm. The waitress we had, Roxana was so kind and friendly and even got us more sandwiches at our request. I couldn't have had a nicer afternoon with my mum.

Had a Groupon voucher for my birthday and went to celebrate with a friend having the winter afternoon tea. From the moment we entered the hotel, the staff was great. Everyone was polite and helpful, especially Roxana, the lady that looked after us. She was always there, toping up our sandwiches and teas, smiley and friendly! And the scones are to die for!Great overall experience, mainly due to the staff! Will come back again for sure.

My grand mother and I went to the Thistle for Afternoon tea. From the moment we stepped through the doors, the staff were looking after us. They were all very polite and very helpful. Biram was very kind to show us our table and he introduced us to a lovely lady named Roxanna. Roxanna made our first afternoon tea experience amazing, she was very welcoming and helpful. She was always coming to our table to ask us if we were ok or needed anything. She really looked after us and even took few pictures for us. Moreover the cakes were absolutely delicious and the actual room beautiful. My overall experience was excellent and I definitely recommend this restaurant.

If it is the traditional British afternoon-tea experience that you are after, then this hotel, conveniently located to Oxford Street, comes highly recommended. We made a 5pm booking as a pre-theatre meal, and left very satisfied. Would we go again? Definitely!

I was joining my parents who were using a Groupon voucher to celebrate their 47th Wedding Anniversary. My Dad is vegan and my Mom is vegetarian, and their dietary needs were met with fresh fruit salad provided as a substitute for items they couldn't take advantage of. Mid-way through their tea the fire alarm went off and they had to evacuate the Restaurant and hotel and accompanied by a Fire Marshall from The Thistle to The Cumberland. Once confirmation had been received that the Hotel was safe we were escorted back to The Thistle.Diane in Costa brought a pot of hot fresh tea and an Americano and asked whether we wanted any more cakes, sandwiches etc. She was very attentive and courteous. We stayed in Delicacy for a couple hours and were not rushed out.Biram checked we were okay after being evacuated and if we had been looked after. The Thistle Hotel cannot be faulted for their customer service. They were efficient during and after the evacuation. The staff in Delicacy further enhanced this.

I took my mum to Winter Afternoon Tea as a birthday treat yesterday and I am very pleased with the experience. As me and my mum arrived we were greeted by Biram who kindly showed us to a lovely area and gave my mum the option to pick a table as it was her birthday. The afternoon tea was delicious and filling especially the scones, the staff were very accommodating, making sure we were happy with everything and one person even offered to take a picture of us and again Biram was a great host.I would highly recommend afternoon tea at Thistle and my mum loved it so much, she is planning to go again.

I went to on Christmas with my friend for Afternoon tea. Their lounge is cozy and classic. So I felt very gooood and relaxed. Especially Scone and cotted cream was rlly nice and I were served by Roma, Roxana and Jon. They're Awesome and I even had my picture taken with them.

I treated my friend to an afternoon tea on Sunday at this hotel thanks to a Groupon Voucher (£14 a head). We had a glass of mulled wine each and unlimited tea and sandwiches. First the positives: the hotel is beautiful, located in a central easy-to-find location and the service is very good. Unfortunately, the food did not do it justice. The sandwiches were cold (like they had just been taken out of the fridge) bland and there was very little variety. The cakes and scones were obviously re-heated from frozen as the scones disintegrated when I put jam on them. I've had a few afternoon teas at various hotels and have experienced much higher quality of food. Freshly baked food as opposed to reheated from frozen makes a world of difference!

We were staying at the Thistle Marble Arch on our visit to Winter Wonderland and booked Afternoon Tea at the hotel. The staff were amazing, especially Roma. Service was excellent as was the tea itself - plenty of choice and Roma even offered to box any leftovers for us to take away. Would definitely recommend and will visit again.

This is located inside the Thistle Marble Arch Hotel. It really for snacks, coffee, and limited wine. Its something to do when you have just come back from a day of sightseeing or you are waiting for friends to go out on the town.

My husband and I enjoyed several light meals at Delicacy on a recent stay at Marble Arch.The food was lovely and we were so well looked after by a young man named Steven.He was excellent and I would advise anyone who is just wanting a light meal or afternoon tea then a stop at Delicacy is great.

Booked afternoon tea via Groupon...disappointing experience to say the least! Poor service, dirty dishes on the table hadn't been removed before seating us, wobbly stand with food that could have be bought from the supermarket...just appalling!

OK so i try to keep my reviews constructive and rant free, but given the amount of money charged here and that it attracts a high amount of American tourists, please read before you buy. My sick mother came to London last week and one of the things that has ALWAYS been on her to do list while she still has reasonable health, is to partake in afternoon tea in a posh hotel.I have seen good reviews on here and that was a factor in choosing this and not another. Furthermore I was advised by a friend to book via group-on who were doing 2 for 1 deals, which I did and purchased deal for 4 people. On entering the hotel is very smart and smells clean. I approached the reception and provided the voucher concerned. Now given that the hotel is involved in many discounted offers with promoters I did not expect any issues. I was immediately told the voucher was for 2 persons, even though the Full price cost of Tea for 2 persons is less than the voucher value!! The chap went off and returned to say a colleague is speaking to group-on and will return. We were shown to a table and asked to wait. We had to time this to precision due to my mothers return trip home so took the trouble to phone ahead and book a table for a specific time giving enough time to eat then leave. What we did not bargain for was the length of time we had to wait. After 50 minutes FIFTY minutes, another female came over waving her clipboard around stating we were missing a voucher and the deal was for 2 persons. I explained again of the offer but still she was argumentative to the point my mother became visibly upset. I made my way to guest services and spoke to Luiza, a manager and explained to her. She was to be fair, understanding and went of to resolve the issue. It showed a glimmer of hope when the menus turned up but still was another 20 minutes before the food/tea arrived. Luiza returned to say the hotel are trying to speak to group-on. The food was average. The scone was warm but crumbled when cut open, the sandwiches gave me heartburn. But the biggest joke was the waiter who delivered the cutlery for the food. One of the sweets is a slim shot glass with a sort of cheesecake in it. When we used the spoons ...well lets just say it was likened to putting a square peg in a small round hole. He returned and had the audacity to suggest we turn the spoon upside down and use the handle!!!!Another waiter bought the correct spoon but by this time we had been waiting so long we had to abandon and depart so as mother did not miss her coach. I am aware of deals at the nearby Cumberland Hotel but unfortunately we could not get a reservation as to busy. Please do your selves a favour and save your hard earned money and spend it somewhere else.

I had a groupon deal for afternoon tea at Thistle Marble Arch. The service was fantastic and they were very friendly and attentive. We arrived slightly earlier and had to wait around 20 minutes for them to get the table ready however it was a pleasant wait in which they served us fresh tea. Once seated Magda and the waitress were very kind to organise a birthday cake for my mother which wasn't included in the afternoon tea. My mother loved it!! Thanks a lot for making her birthday extra special!!

Just returned from a relaxing afternoon at the Thistle. Excellent Selection of teas and sandwiches and pastries. Had the halal selection of sandwiches which were quite nice although not Laduree standard!

We were given a groupon voucher for a Christmas present which was to the value of £52.00. When we arrived for tea the menu said £20.00 person for afternoon tea. Didn't like to approach the person who gave it to us as it was a present.The tea certainly wasn't worth £20.00 let alone £26.00 per person.The sandwiches were made from the cheapest ingredients and the bread wasn't at all appetizing, obviously a very cheap brand of sliced white bread.The pastries were extremely small and soggy. The only thing anywhere near enjoyable was the pot of green tea.If you are willing to pay either £20.00 or £26.00 per head for a pot of tea then this is the place but don't expect anything fancy to go along with it.Very disappointed and would definitely not recommend.

Went for afternoon tea yesterday, and was told that they had made bookings for it on boxing day when they were not supposed to, as apparently they were very busy. Strangely enough, only 3 people in a group of one, came in front of us and the whole restaurant was empty. (A couple was finishing lunch when we arrived) We really felt it was not our fault if they were busy and they made a mistake! However, the tea set they served in was best one I have ever seen, so I will praise that. We have been to several afternoon teas before and this was definitely the worst one ever due to the quality of what we were served. The scones were hard and stale, we did not enjoy the lemon tart and I almost felt sick after having it. My husband had a similar feeling. Mince pies were good but another pudding served with it was horrible, it felt they served us thickened clotted cream and we didnt enjoy that either, but the sandwiches were okay. We told the waiter to exchange our beef sandwiches with any other flavour which was kindly done, but I should say the staff didnot seem generally very happy and polite. We were left alone during the duration and no one even came once to ask if everything was okay. I must confess we did go elsewhere after that to change our taste as the experience gave me a headache. I repeat the tea set was amazing, so hope this would not put you off from visiting Thistle.

Please note this is a review about the afternoon tea not the Hotel in generalMy partner and I had a Groupon Voucher for Afternoon Tea at the Thistle Marble Arch which we were looking forward to based on how good the teas were at other Thistle hotels we had visited (Trafalgar Square and Piccadilly). Our booking was for 2 pm and we arrived at around 1.55 pm we handed our voucher to the waitress and was told our table was not ready and asked to take a seat in the lounge and we would be called - 35 minutes later we were eventually showed to a huge table hardly suitable for two people more like four to six and were given a Cocktail and Tea menu and asked to choose. Our cocktail arrived fairly swiftly and about 10 minutes later our sandwiches arrived, but without our pot of tea. About 10-15 minutes passed and our pot of tea had still not arrived so my partner went to the service area and asked for our pot of tea which did eventually arrive. On the plus side the sandwiches, cakes and scones were very nice but the whole experience was rather let down by the terrible service. One final point was when I requested some more tea the waitress took our pot away and she returned with the same pot having just added more hot water but no fresh tea leaves! All in all very disappointing.

My friend and I went here for afternoon tea with champagne cocktail on Saturday 21 September 2013. I purchased the deal through Group-on but if I had of paid the full price for it I would have complained more at the time as it was we just didn't tip and left. Anyway, firstly it took over 30 minutes to bring us the tea and then when that was all gone they brought over the teeny tiny selection of sandwiches (they never asked if we had any dietary requirements, my friend is a vegetarian so she had little choice!), the pastries (only one of some so we had to cut the tiny cakes in half) and the scones (which were nice). Whilst eating the lunch we had to drink our own water from my bag as noone came over to see if we were ok and then 30 minutes after we finished our food we finally ordered our champage cocktails and then had to wait another 45 minutes for those to be brought over. There were only 5 groups in the grill area and noone apologised for everything taking so long. With Group-on deals as I've already paid in advance I would normally tip quite well but as I said earlier we didn't leave a penny - perhaps the staff will be a bit better in future. thanks.

I purchased a groupon deal for afternoon tea at this hotel and when I phoned to book a table for 5pm (last sitting) I mentioned that my friend would be slightly late, I was told by the person on the phone that this was absolutely fine and a table would be waiting for us. On arrival to the hotel, I was told that it wasn't possible to sit down after 5 as the kitchen closes and the chef goes home (I would understand this if I hadn't got told by the person on the phone when I booked that the table would be kept after 5!) I told the member of staff that when I rang to book I had mentioned that my friend would be late however he still shook his head and told me to take a seat and he would ask the chef. Eventually he came over and said that it was no problem and he would order the afternoon tea now ready for when my friend would arrive. My friend arrived and after a brief wait, we were taken to our table. After browsing the menu we were ready to take our order yet no-one came until we got the attention of a member of staff, whom worked in the restaurant across the loby, to take it. After waiting 20 minutes, our drinks arrived but still no food. The champagne cocktail was great and so was the tea so no faults there. After asking a couple of times where the food was still no luck, after half an hour the food finally arrived but they had ran out of fruit scones so we had to have cheese scones with clotted cream and jam. The scones were dry and not very nice at all especially with the sweetness of the jam. The cakes weren't a great selection, a small square of chocolate cake and a small pot of, what looked like rice pudding! The sandwiches were dry too and really unpleasant, not what I expect of an afternoon tea, having experienced better ones elsewhere. Unfortunately, we had to leave so couldn't finish it all and to be honest, we'd had enough by this time. Overall, was disappointed with the tea and speed of service, hotel decor was superb but sadly, won't be returning here again. On arriving home, have discovered that the hotel haven't used my groupon voucher so it's still marked as unused after I handed over the voucher so not sure whether the voucher was processed or not.
