We went to the deli for lunch. I was keen on the Ruben, but one look at the menu changed my mind. I went with the classic Ploughman’s lunch. Whilst it said it was a shared platter, for my daughter and I, it was HUGE. Great lumps of excellent cheddar, a bowl of chutney and really good bread. Rest of the table had the Salt Beef sambo, and Mum went the tuna sandwich. Service was excellent. I have seen the other comments on poor service, BUT this is not what I experienced. Staff were chatty and friendly and very helpful. Selection of deli goods with a welsh bent were great, and we walked out with unique cheeses, some welsh beer and other goodies. Really like this place. Will go back.

Visited here with our 10yr old daughter between Christmas and New Year, we were staying in the Village hotel nearby and I had walked past and seen the 'award winning' sign outside and we thought we would give it a try. Firstly, the welcome as we walked in was non-existent, it was a quiet lunch time and aside from a group of older women enjoying a coffer there was no one else in the venue. The two staff did not welcome us as we came in and as we felt a bit awkward. There were no menus on the table and so we walked up to the counter to try and read the menu behind the staff, it was only after a few minutes that we were actually offered a hand held menu. We ordered 3 sandwiches, a tea, a coffee and drink for our daughter....at £26 - 27 it was rather steep. The sandwiches came and we were intrigued as they did look large but I wouldn't say they were appealing or eye catching for the price, a dash of greenery was on the plates but it was a bit underwhelming. The meats were good but not outstanding (hardly award winning) and there was just nothing distinctly different in taste between each of the sandwiches. They were meat sandwiches but we couldn't tell you the difference between each. There was nothing 'wrong' with the food and I want the owners to know that, but, I do feel that there are areas that maybe they could improve on rather than people coming away feeling disappointed or unlikely to return. Suggestions; Perhaps some improvement to the meat accompaniments to provide more distinguishable flavours would be beneficial. Staff training to ensure that customers feel welcome and accommodated. When ordering a herbal tea perhaps a pot is more beneficial, the amount of water in the small cup I was given was not enough to warrant the price. Consistency with prices or a receipt to be given, we were never given a receipt but cannot work out what the sandwiches fully cost as the charge did not equate to what was shown on the menus and we still can't figure it out.

warm welcome by staff ,gave friendly advice, information on the food that was available, excellent choice for a light lunch. I chose the Salmon n spinach tart it was delicious, the pastry was divine, no soggy bottom here!!, This was served with salad and coleslaw, and some gorgeous caramelized onion chutney, we chatted to our waitress Sonya who was actually the Chef. She recommended the peach crumble for dessert,( which was straight out of the oven) and served with fresh cream, once again the sponge was light buttery and utterly luscious. This little eatery was a real find , will definitely visit again , and tell my friends about it.

Visited on Sat 9/9 with a friend. One of us ordered a breakfast dish which was eggs and prosciutto on toast - it turned up without the prosciutto, and my friend had to ask for it. We'd ordered tea for 2 and we're given a large pot with only one tea bag. When I asked for another tea bag the girl looked bemused, as if this was unusual. The saving grace was my Chelsea bun - it was lovely. Another plus point was that they didn't try to hurry us, as we were there a fair while.

We were passing at lunchtime and decided to pop in for lunch. The cafe was not very busy so we expected brisk service. After a while our teas were brought to our table. My wife has ordered redbush tea but no red colour developed. It seemed some sort of fruit tea. Not worth making s fuss about. We has drunk over half our cups of tea, slowly, before the soup arrived. It was tepid and needed to reheated in the microwave. The soup tasted fine, nothing special. The "artisan" bread was thinly cut and also unexciting. While idling away waiting I picked up a jar of pickled peppers for sale on the shelf. BBE May 2017. Fine to eat I guess but poor practice. It was this lack of attention overall that was disappointing. The soup was reasonably priced but I felt £2.25 for tea was dear.

I live and work locally and took an Italian colleague to the Deli for a sandwich lunch. He was blown away by the King Rueben sandwich and the quality of the coffee. I have visited occasionally for breakfast or a takeaway sandwich. The helpings of salt beef are enormous, with a price to match (£7 for a sarny means the Deli is Treatsville only). The staff are friendly but the little seating area at the back is a bit pokey and draughty if the back door to the smokers table outside is kept open. Just a niggle, because the overall impression is excellent.

Visited here last Sat 4th July. There was a special POP UP Pizza day, celebrating the 4th July. So we had a 12" freshly made pizza, with a drink for a tenner. I chose the Billy Green, Cheese, Extra Mozerella, Homemade Pesto Sauce, and Spinach. 10/10 for me. It was perfectly seasoned, and can't wait to order my next one. Apart from the pizzas, they have a list of their famous yummy dishes. They do a mean Salt Beef Sandwich ... a Reuben .... and their salads are delicious. You can get a beer, or a wine if you fancy. it's never nice having food you wish you hadn't eaten. After eating in pen y lan pantry, and fat pig deli, we were looking for something similar to discover, as we love both those places. The shop itself is nice, good if you live locally. But as we spoke to the girl behind the counter, our expectations for our lunch lowered very quickly. She struggled to tell us what was in the quiche, and failed to say what cheese was in the salt beef sandwich. Sensing this uncertainty, I decided to play it safe and have a panini, which was overpriced but fine. My boyfriend ordered the salt beef sandwich, which was very poor. Soggy microwaved bread, slathered in mustard, and filled with not-the-best salt beef. The soggy bread obviously couldn't hold together at all so it was abandoned and the rest eaten from the plate. We had a "pot of tea for 2", which were assuming came in the "pot of tea for 1" size because it was tiny. We left feeling very underwhelmed and wished we'd stuck to the delis we know and love. Judging by the stock in store, the owner must be quite passionate and in the know. If they were in the shop, behind the counter, I'm sure it'd be much better.

The £5 deli salad - Parma ham with fig relish - delicious but very boring accompaniments - and I had to ask for dressing! I have a fab deli in the village I work and this sets my standard - sorry not a match here. My friend is a vegetarian and I was gutted when she realised her quiche was not so! It was really tasty. 2 portions and 2 bottles of pomegranate sparkling juice was about £11. Staff were friendly and we stayed about 2 hours. The only criticism would be the coffee, I ordered a flat white after my food and it wasn't really a flat white, rather a milky coffee. I do find it hard it find a good flat white as many people don't really know how to make it. At least it was strong and milky not weak and milky so I drank half of it. This a small local deli and cafe in Whitchurch, a 'village' within Cardiff. There is a take-away counter service, as well as seating areas upstairs and downstairs. The cafe serves mainly sandwiches, tarts, paninis and soups for lunch, and also very lovely home-made cakes. If you're takeing away I would try one of their 'Welsh Egg' - lovely! One of my favourite items recently has been a chorizo & pepper tart, which was gorgeous. This is a place with a loyal local following; as we live around the corner we popin here to pick up a 'treat' about once a month. Although it is expensive - it is perhaps a place to pick up a 'treat' or take visiting friends there - it is worth it to sample local produce and support a local business. There is a good stock of different cheeses and local ales & ciders, with a 'store cupboard' supplies area and a good selection of wine. The owners and staff are all very friendly. The cafe also sells fresh local bread - though this tends to sell out pretty fast.Accessiblity: There is ramped access for wheelchair-users into the shop, with ground-floor seating available (there isn't a lift though to the upstairs seating).

I got a salt beef sandwich from Deli A GoGo last month - I was looking forward to it but unfortunately found it disappointing. The staff were friendly but it took them forever to make my sandwich. By the time they microwaved the beef, spread the mustard, and completed making the sandwich it felt like I'd been in there over 10 minutes. The person serving may have been new so that may account for that, and in that case I can't really complain but I would have liked to have received my sandwich sooner!Their salt beef sandwich is supposedly their speciality but £6.45 is way too expensive for a sandwich. They don't skimp on the beef, in fairness, but I'd expect at least two sandwiches for that price! The main thing though is how it tastes - and to me it was disappointing. The been was not what I had been hoping for and the bread wasn't the best either. Overall I was disappointed and did not think this sandwich was worth the money. From reading the other reviews it seems like Deli A GoGo is hit or miss depending on when you go there. I'm sure if I went there as the salt beef was being freshly carved and not in need of microwaving later I'd have had a tastier sandwich. As it is, I think I'll wait until people start reporting consistently good quality sandwiches here before I attend again.

The food to choose from looks lovely and fresh and the coffee is made fresh too. Service was very quick and extremely friendly. We had lovely food and i would recommend it for that but...The down side is the seating area at the back is cramped, hard wooden chairs, uninspiring decor, especially sat looking at the battered back door and it makes for an extremely noisy area with scrapping chairs on hard tiled floor - and it was freezing!!we were both bitterly cold and it felt warmer outside. i would try it again when its warmer but the back really lets the front of the shop down in my opinion.

Second time today, I've taken my elderly Mum here when visiting her. The service is friendly without being intrusive, the coffee is very good and there is a nice choice of food for lunchtime and lovely homemade cakes. Highly recommended if you are in Whitchurch.

Grea fresh food prepared to order from an extensive chalkboard menu. Great choice of sandwich fillings, tasty pies and quiches and great home made cakes!

I found this hidden gem via a Facebook link and decided to take my partner and young baby to the Deli for some food.I can honestly say that I have never tasted anything so incredibly moreish as the Salt Beef Sandwich, truly incredible!! I'm quite a food fanatic and love trying new and different things but this is one thing I will say I will be getting on a weekly basis.Aswell as the amazing food, the service was excellent. We were guided through our meat meze by the owner who kept our little girl entertained while we continued to tuck in. The deli itself is really nicely set in the heart of Witchurch Village, loads of table inside and two outside areas at the front and rear which was a nice sun trap to spend the day sipping bear and eating the delights on offer!!I can't rave about this place enough.

Not really a restaurant - more of a deli to go with tables. Food is lovely but very inconsistent in both portion and content. Has bags of potential but held back by poor management.Fab sandwiches and jackets one week. Disappointing the next. Quite pricey which is fine when its good. Also, if you are in a hurry go elsewhere - a very haphazard sort of service. Such a shame as marvellous cheeses, sauces, wines etc.

The Deli A GoGo in Whitchurch is my favourite coffee place in Whitchurch. The coffees are really good, and easily made just the way you want it, chosen from a wide range. The food is freshly made from a wide spread of things to put on their lovely bread. They have a nice selection of everything from wine to cheese, as well as olives and teas. Come on a Saturday to pick up the loveliest breads from their artisan bread stall, and talk with the very friendly staff! Definitely worth a visit if you are in Whitchurch!

I'm a regular customer of Deli a GoGo's delicious range of deli produce (the £2.95 buffalo mozzarella is beautiful). It's my go-to place for takeout sandwiches and I occasionally eat in the tiny cafe at the back. They've also got outdoor seating and a few tables in the front. They've a good range of upmarket sandwich fillers and cakes and posh bread. I always end up buying much more than I bargained for, which can end up causing quite a dent in the bank balance. Deli a GoGo also sell wines - which seem to have been selected with care, though I haven't bought any - and have regular themed evenings or days. Most of the staff are Welsh-speaking, which is great for us native Welsh speakers!

Esta tarde me localizar Bailey's Carvery, y yo no me decepcionó. Espaciosas, tranquilas.

The restaurant with the best view in Cardiff also can supply you with a damn fine breakfast buffet. Window seats (or if possible -this is Wales- outside) are the best.

Me and the wife had a voucher for a 3 course meal there. Got to say that the menu choice was great plenty of choices, all courses was presented well, really tasty, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Staff was great and very polite. We would recommend a visit for a special occasion. We would return, even without the voucher.
