Delhiwala in Hounslow

Today, I went to heston Delhi Wala, One of the staff lady was shouting and verbally abusing at her colleagues. It was so disheartening to witness it. She didn’t realise that I understand what she was saying. Such a bad experience. Felt so sorry for the boy, He was serving customer with full on smile and the lady was very rude to customers.

I was over charged (only by a few pennies)not even a sorry from the lady serving. They are very very tight with chutney. great food but rude unfriendly staff!!!

Check the FOOD SAFETY rating... it is so poor. Best to avoid this 'restaurant', the RICHMOND food safety rating is DAMNING.

Food is good. However there is no queuing system. Customer's need to get in line and the shop should make a ticket system so people are served fairly on a first come first served basis. Shop people just say who's next to be served and people just walk in and don't know if anyone was before them. This creates caos.

Been going to this shop for over 20 years. Food is amazing, shame you cannot sit in and eat anymore. Always busy but that is because the food is really good.

Too much salt being added to the food. Samosas are very salty as are other dishes. Also a lot of oil in dishes. Food used to be better. Standards have gone down which is a shame as they normally make nice food.

Very good quality vegetarian only food. Have been coming here for many years moslty for taking away. Fresh and food that the family is always happy with. Really excellents sweets. Wish theyvwould open a branch closercto me. They can be very busy and rushed around Indian festivals.

Extremely rude staff not willing to listen. Wanted an update about my order but lady over the phone cut the call and when I went to collect they gave the food very cold. Not happy poor customer service skills and no corporation

Not the restaurant fault it was driver who called me. He couldn't find where I was even though I ordered food the night before. I called him back he kept hanging up. I called the restaurant they said take it up with Just Eat now I have no dinner and have to wait 48hrs for response of Just Eat. They could of explained to me instead of leaving me waiting for food. I order because food was delicious last night. Shame the driver wasn't good at communicating. If you order from this place pick it up yourself to avoid disappointment.

My auntie suggested it so we called & placed an order & were told parathas take an hour wait so we chose not to order them and were told our order would be ready in 25minutes. The menu prices and portion sizes were very different. Good variety, hot, traditional Indian food, but unfortunately not to our standard; the onion bhaji was round and oily and a little dry and stale, the mogo chips were not fresh, gol gappe mix consisted of a bunch of diced potato cubes and chicken peas in a sandwich bag, the gol gappe itself were not particularly nice, the samosas were stale and the samosa chaat was drenched in yoghurt. We did not enjoy anything sadly. Waited 20mins after collection time and items missing had to be rushed around for. Friendly staff,but possibly need more staff to manage quicker orders. Lots of elderly people, walking sticks etc, waited 20mins ahead of me, standing far longer than anticipated.

Ordered 3 items for take away- Tikki chat which came as chunky boiled potato pieces lightly roasted in disgusting stale yogurt sauce of some kind. Never had tikki cooked as chunks of thick potatoes!! Dahi Bhalas were stone hard and awful taste. They don't know how Tikki or Bhala is made, so why offer on the menu? Chole bhature were just about edible but too thick on the edges and chole had bad after lingering taste. Nothing tasted freshly cooked. Don't think would eat from this restaurant anymore.

I think is a vegetarian’s paradise. Very good clean and tasty food. Best chana bhatura and great Parathas. Samosas here are excellent as well. Chaat and South Indian dishes are ok. Plus you can buy a variety of indian mithai sweets and namkeen. Overall a very good quick casual dining excellent value for money desi restaurant!!

INDIAN Veg Food here is Awesomely Good. Dishes like Chole Bharure & several kinds of Chaat are Not 2 be missed.. Various Veg dishes like Saag & Dal Makhani etc etc are Genuinely Tasty. AND Not over the top expensive either. Well Done & keep it up...

Ordered bin advance, I ordered Chile butura. The quality and taste were very poor Cold by the time I got home.

I went to eat Chole Bhature there nice mannered waiting staff and it took a while before someone took our order. And even more waiting for food. But the food is amazing , I would go for Chole Bhature all day long there. Then came the bill which took a long time. Except long waitign times everything else is perfect.

Ordered palak panner, cholay bhaturas, mogo, aloo tikki chaat, tandoori roti, parathas. The food was excellent and the service was good.

My parents have been going to this restaurant for YEARS! I RECENTLY came to watch the 6 nation's knowing that they are the best. I was not disappointed, this restaurant is literally the BEST for veggie food and not. My friend was a meat eater and he loved it! Would 100% recommend the paneer samosas!

Bought some stuffed paranthas from here - potato, paneer, mooli - and each was as bland and tasteless as the other. The potato one was completely plain - there was no salt, pepper or any other kind of seasoning whatsoever. The mooli and paneer ones were just as bland. Literally, no seasoning. We used to be regulars here, but the food has been getting progressively worse and now they’ve hit rock bottom. Never again, and most certainly would not recommend.

I don't normally eat in too many vegetarian restaurants, as a non-vegetarian person, but have to say that this place offers a great choice of food and it is very tasty. The nans and bhaturas are served fresh and hot to add to the enjoyment of the various dishes on offer.

Poor customer service. No order or organisation skills. Poor telephone manner. Need to have an English speaking person answer the phone to take orders. No attention to detail it’s all about serving the customer and moving them along.

i been going there in Heston branch from day first but. my last visit is horrible a big restaurant with one person serving on the counter and one on the floor quietly of a food is rubbish not advise to any one to visit

Had an excellent maki ki roti and saag. The maki ki roti was fresh and moist. The chaat was delicious as well together with the Dokra.

i had take away 2 weeks ago and was impressed with the quilty of food and the price. 2 days ago i stoped for a sit down meal. the seating i found was too banquetish, the furniture did not justify the quilty of food. i had allo chole and bindi with bhuturas. the bhuturas were prefectly cooked they melted in your mounth you tell the were fresh. the 2 dishes were very good as well perfectly spiced as i ordered. enjoyed the meal. the atomosphere was just on the border line. for a vegterian it is good place. they had a lot of side goodies as well

Can't recommend the aloo tiki Chaat enough by far my favorite item on the menu. Always reorder this item along with channa bhatura only 3 stars due to waiting time. I always order over the phone due to how long it takes to receive the food for takeaway but still end up with waiting 20 minutes

We had a great experience both in terms of taste and service in Delhiwala, Southall. Since the Hounslow Delhiwala looked similar, we got carried away to cut short our drive to southall. There is no comparison. Hounslow Delhiwala can not even match the quality of food that Southall Delhiwala sells. When I enquired, the owner said that the Hounslow is the original and Southall is a spin off. However the reality is, Southall quality and service is outstanding while Hounslow is very bad.

i wouldnt bother finding parking to eat here (yes thats how bad this is) ! we arrived when it was pretty empty so spoting my and my partner shouldnt have been a big issue. however we waited... and waited....and waited. I finaly went up and nudged their staff to take our order!...again it wasnt busy. we ordered Gravy Manchurian, Mix Parotha and Panni Puri. all were a disappointment! the manchurain was watery, bland, and only had 4 manchurain (which were cold in the middle). Pani puri was well just tastless. the Parotha was too salty...i;ve read other reviews below and there seems to be a comman theme here? i wonder if Deliwhat reads these review. i told the waiter about the experienc and also asked weather the manchurian were cooked fresh...he said yes (was a clear lie since the manchurian were cold from inside). the waiter came back and said he would make another parotha in 10 mins (i have other things to do). This restaurant charged me full price. I would rather place trust in a street food manchurian in India which taste better too! also be advised that there indian snack are expensive and not that fresh.

Great vegetarian food that is of high quality. The portions are of a good size and all our requirements were met

We have eaten here many times over the years and always been happy hence we come back. Must say this time service and quality of food was very very poor. We ordered Parathas they were full of salt. We took one bit off and made staff aware of the problem. Instead of replacing them we were told if we wanted less salt we should have told them. There was no waiting staff there was only a lady behind sweet counter and elderly retired gentlemen apparently he worked at one of the other branches. We wanted to order some butter as soon she saw me walking up to her she disappeared in the kitchen and made me wait. Food was served by porter from kitchen and when we asked left over Parathas to be packed they wrapped them in paper and threw in front of us and walked off. We asked if they can wrap up bread in foil she walked off very rudely. We ordered tea and asked for spare cup we finished our meal but no one bought the cup to us. There was no atmosphere or ambience. We asked to speak to manager or owner we were told no one was available as they are short staffed! We paid full money for our meal. We should have got our money's worth, with due respect as a customer it's really not our fault, management should have back up plan in place. Food quality and service is awful. I will not be recommending this restaurant or visiting again.

We always get aloo tiki chaat and chola purri food tastes great would recommend. The sweet selection is good and tastes fantastic.

It looks like the management has paid attention to the customers complains. Our visit today was excellent. The service was really excellent together with the delicious food.

Have been there couple of times..but the reason for this visit was a friends birthday and since I have turned vegetarian..this was a go to place.. loved it.. don't expect much from ambience but the food is good quality and taste..

De curry, pan recién hecho, dulces y sabrosos aperitivos, de hecho todo lo que pueda desear de un restaurante indio y no carne. Todo está hecho en el establecimiento a la orden, es muy razonable, todo sabe increíble y puedes comer en el restaurante o para llevar. Puedes llamar a un gran orden en si quieres y recogerá cuando. Es un deber para todos los vegetarianos. Muy limpio y el personal es encantador.

Muy buena comida para llevar y comer en opción. Lleva mucho tiempo así, de 4 estrellas, de lo contrario se de 5 estrellas. El personal es amable.

Visited on Saturday early evening. There were seven tables finished but not cleared up. We satOn the only table that was clean. I had to get up and ask for the menu after a 10 minute wait. Ordered the food and drinks. One drink came the other one had to be requested again. The food came out not as asked. Finally when we finished I went to pay and told the person that you service needs improving and that you need to hire additional staff. He told that I should come during the week when it is not too busy. I was shocked at the response. It seems they do not care.

I have been to this place on a number of occasions. Visited with the kids, the waitress was honest and made a good suggestions for the kids who prefer mild dishes. The paranthas were mild.The Channa were sublime. I can still taste the flavours in my mouth. The children loved the pickle which left a sweet tangy taste on the pallet. Whenever we are in West London we try and visit and have so far in 8 years never been disappointed.

A lovely place, you can always find parking. It has a nice menu for vegetarian cuisine. The food and dishes served a fresh and aromatic. The only thing that I found a bit upsetting was the slow service. The restaurant needs more staff. The person taking your order if you are planning to sit down and have a meal is also serving at the till. I think more staff with be a bonus to the restaurant and its customers.Over all nice place to eat. You can have snacks or a nice hot meal which is delicious.Lots of Indian sweets available too.

Love this restaurant, lots of choice and delicious curries. Definitely one of my favourite places when visiting the area.

I went here to have 'Paranthas' and they were terrible! I am a beginner cook and I think I could have done a better job than them! The paranthas were soggy and just raw onions, and stuffing between 2 rotis - tasteless, and disgustingly awful.We also ordered makki ki roti - which was as hard as a stone. The Saag was just blended and not cooked. I have never had such horrible food in London so I found it very surprising.Upon telling the waiter that the food was horrible, he did nothing and then ignored our table. The paranthas did not come with pickles or curd - these were apparently extras which we were charged for. Overall, disgusting food - would never recommend this place to anyone - even surprised this place has managed to stay open for so many years!

Delhi wala serves great food. Nice interior/staff. Great cuisines. I would highly recommend this place to a foodie.

I went to this place late Aug 2016 and was really disappointed with the service and food. I had been there before under the old management and the food and service was impeccable. The manager even joined as for a chat and the waiters could not have done more. Our recent experience was that 1) the place was over 26 degree, no air cond and was told it comes on and off. It did not. 2) The lady who served us took ages to come over to take our order, the starters 3 took 15 min and one was a cold dish and the main and another 20 minutes. We only ordered two mains. No excuse as it was not busy. 3) The bhel puri was done on the cheap as it was made up just dried fried rice and tamrine sauce only. Really this was not bhel puri as it should be. Will not be going back there again and seems that the other reviews have also not been great. Shame as it was such a lovely find in Whitton.

Avoid this place it's not worth your time and money.long hair found in Punjabi samosa, None existent customer service, absolutely no regard for customer.Disgusting attitude to customers.Cold food. Bad atmosphere.There are better places to go.

What a disappointment. The food and service used to be good. Now it is so bad that we will not visit this place again. I had organised a small party at home and ordered some food in the morning for afternoon pick up. When I got there in the afternoon the staff did not acknowledge me and kept chatting amongst themselves. Finally got some one to ask about my order. They had no clue what had happened to my order and started blaming the morning staff. MY FOOD WAS NOT READY. The Manager was no where to be seen. The staff did not even apologise and kept blaming the other members of staff. Visit this place if you want to experience Bad service and rude Staff.

Bad Service and not very great food either. Did not live up to the expectations at all. Will not go again.

Delicious samosa and pakoras from Deliwala Heston - I ordered 400 samosa & 10kg of pakora for our school's summer fayre and they sold out quickly with many requests for Deliwala's address! Will definately be back again next year!

We have been so many times in this restaurant with great food, BUT now in 2016, the waiting time is so long, service is very poor, the quality of the food is gone and we are very, very disappointed.

My family have been going to this restaurant for many years. They do great tasting, clean vegetarian food. Always happy to eat from here. Only downside is the service / waiting times aren't great but that's a management issue! Everything else is perfect.

On and off we have been going to Dehliwala as we are vegetarians. Over time the quality of food has deteriorated. The service is none existence. I do not think the management care about their customers any more as they sit back and do nothing to improve the food and service. The faludas we ordered just tasted like milk with rose water and cream on top - awful. Do not waste your time until the management start thinking about customers, rather then the money they want to pocket.

Went there to order 12 samosas, took over 25mins, on top of that being asked if we wanted them warm and if we needed sauce, people in the shop waiting to be served at tables, a queue of people waiting to pay and no one there to serve, told them to cancel the order and the owner woke up, funny thing was on the way there was a lady cutting her hedge and on the way back she was done and cleaning up, come on guys..... Won't be going there again

A great little restaurant come shop at offers great snacks and desserts, truly worth a visit for all food lovers. And the staff here are very friendly.

Nice and clean Indian Restaurants on Whitton High Street. Almost everything available with Indian great taste.

Stay away from this place like plague!!staff wouldn't bother making you wait for hours to take the order itself! We waited for 30 min almost to get the order taken that too after we had to literally force a lady to take. One more guy arrives after 20 min to take the order again ..There is no coordination between the staff.Pani poori served with plain boiled potato cubes and plain boiled chickpeas wit some weird red liquid.there is no prep required for this kind of dish!! And still they took 40 min.Worst experience ever !!! No quality neither in hospitality nor food!

we went there for dinner last weekend. The food was nice and quick. We had aloo paranthas and gobhi paranthas. Both were stuffed upto maximum and very flavourful. The dal makhni and kadhai paneer were little weak. They could add more spice to cater to Indians' tastebuds. We had Gulab Jamuns for take away but these were hard in the middle.

Very unwelcoming atmosphere and poor attitude. Would not bring bill to our table, expecting us to queue up on their counter and this is after we had to wait 30 mins for a cup of tea after our slooooooowish lunch. Would not update us on status of our order during delays. No friendly smile or anything, mediocre food, no reason why they deserve any custom. I should have realised that when I kept waiting at the entrance on arrival and three staff members would not greet me and I eventually occupied a table on my own.VERY POOR!

As the previous reviews suggest, this is a perfect place for breakfast at silly o' clock. Their paranthas and choley bhaturey were delicious. We asked for our parantha to be made spicy and boy did they listen and do just that. Ok,it is an average looking place and not the one to take your date or an important client to. My friend isn't indian so relied on me to choose. Perhaps if they had photos next to the dishes in the menu then it will help those who aren't familiar with Indian food. Overall, Delhiwala is good value for money and perfect for parantha takeaways.

I'm not asian and I do not often eat in vegetarian restaurants. But I can tell this is a very very lovely restaurant. The food is really great and tasty. I have tried Dosa as the main meal. The customer service is excellent. The general environment is relaxing and hygienic. The only negative point is the menu which is strongly designed for indian people, so I had difficulties to figure out what was I choosing even though there is some (limited) English translation.Last but not least, I was amazed by the big variety of sweets and desserts and of high quality!

The food served was very smelly, the plates were not washed properly and the table was dirty. Would not recommend and the staff isn't too friendly

We ordered few dishes from menu and none of them were available so what's the point put it in menu when you don't serve those things to customers? its only good for breakfast thats it.

We have been here many times for lunch, but no consistency in quality as well as service, otherwise it is a good place for vegetarian food.

The very best veggie in Southall, palak paneer, bangain bhurta are the best I've found, chilli paneer is great, nice heat, saffron rassmalai was gorgeous. Malai kofta is for those who love tom based sauces, great service!

Horrible food we found hair in our food the utensils are not cleaned properly the food is not fresh.

I went in to buy a bunch of samosas and chaat for take away, the place was tad busy but I pre ordered. The middle aged woman was absolutely rude to me but pleasantly lovely to the Asian men and women coming in (I'm a Muslim wearing scarf). I'm not even kidding, she walked off halfway through me speaking, I generally have a good experience, price and service is always good but this racist woman made me sick. She didn't even give my sauce so when I asked she goes to me to wait (these sauces are pre packaged, thus takes 2 seconds to pass to me! ) she went and prepared another customers food before passing my sauces and even then she gave me two considering I ordered a bunch from them. I don't know who she is but I hope she gets fired because that place is a great place as the other guys are lovely and they don't need sick people like her. The world is a better place without racist pricks like her.

Nearly every time we stay with family, we go to Delhiwala. We were a party of 11 with 2 children. It was a Sunday but, they managed to fit all of us together.Ordered Aloo tikka for starters to share followed by a plain dosa and chana bhatura for 10 with extra bhatura's. The charts were out with 15 minutes and were excellent. Nothing left. About 10 minutes after we had finished the chaat, the bhatura chana started to arrive. chana were well cooked and with just enough garam masala. The bhatura's were hot and lovely and soft.The flood was excellent. Service was excellent. Nothing was to much. The decor is simple and functional. Can't fault this as the quality of the food is brilliant.Highly recommend. We will return when visiting London.

Food was good and had authentic flavour to it.Some of the chats were good and I would recommend eating curry dishes such as Malai Kofta with delicious roties.

Some one teach the chef to make aaloo tikki chat. ..grrr...very less yogurt and no great taste of the ingredients used. ...

I always look for an opportunity to eat something at Delhiwala every time I visit London. They don't have luxury interiors but if your are indian food lover then this place would'not disappoint you. I had paneer paranthas with yogurt in the the breakfast a few time. Humm.. Yummy cannot go wrong with it. You can also have Indian snack and savery too. They serve most Indian vegs and currys at the reasonable price. Only thing I don't like about their toilet condition. On a few occasions, there was no hand was in the toilet. Overall good place for Indian food.

Loooooove the samosas. Theyre very cheap too 4 for £1 :). Amazing mint chutney comes with it too. My fave samosa shop

We live near whitton and was on the high street. Quiet a few tables but food was not upto the mark. Too oily and tasteless I would say

Typical north indian resturant with british tinge, food's not too spicy, well cooked. Pleasant staff and average priced. Fits well for family outing. For parking you have a paid car park nearby. Food varieties are there for choice.

We go to delhiwala as and when we feel like having nice Indian food. As mentioned chole bhature are awesome. Nice quantity too. The paneer sizzler is our favourite as well. The aloo chaat is good also.The mango lassi there is to try for. And lastly ras malai is yummmyyyyyy..It doesn't have a very fancy seating or ambience but we just go there for food.They also have wide range of sweets.Their catering service for small group about 50 -60 people is very reasonable in amount of pricing and the amount of items you get per person is unbelievable.Very good quality food also.we are happy with it.

I loved their signature dishes - Dal Makhani & Chole bhature - but it looks like they had change in their cook or cooking practices - food is not same as it used to be..Have to wait long for orders they always are short of waiting staffPlace has changed over years, it used to be best for food till time lady called 'Hasu' was their chief cook

I love coming here on a lazy weekend and having the sholay patooras, their paranthas are massive and thick, i actually prefer them thinner but kudos for making them American size. It's a vegetarian restaurant suitable for meat eaters as the food is great. It's a family place with a calm quiet relaxed and very casual atmosphere. The food is well priced and tasty. The only problem is the surly and often lazy waiters who will look anywhere but at you, they seem to be busy doing nothing even if there is only a handful of people there. There is one waitress there and she is the best of the bunch. Food is freshly cooked, i have no hesitation in recommending them. They would get 5 stars if their waiters weren't so lazy and hard to get hold of. But if you expect this it is yummy food.
