We being an Indian vegetarian family tried this only veg restaurant in Oxford on our way back from Cotswold…we had high expectations from it but the food was not at all tasty…it felt like it’s not freshly cooked ….and we had food poisoning the very next day after eating food here which definitely proves that food was stale … I don’t recommend going to this place at all and myself won’t be returning ever again

Such a great place to eat in Oxford. Very cozy and chill vibe with friendly staff. We ordered the chatt plates which were a wonderful mix of flavours as a base with potato in chickpea batter in the middle. We asked for very very spicy and the chef made us a sauce from Congo peppers which she explained to us. The staff explained the food and it was great to have the chef come and check on us. All vegan and lots of gluten free dishes. We left very happy and very full!

AMAZING! 10/10 food & service - up there with the best Indian I’ve ever tasted AND everything is 100% vegan (meat-eaters you aren’t missing out tho! Umami for days!) Every bite was packed full of flavour - each dish clearly homemade with love & care. We shared the Thali feast for 2 which was incredible value for money with unlimited refills & a fantastic selection of curry/dhal & nibbly sides (samosa, pakora etc). Lastly I have to say the service & atmosphere was so beautiful - attentive, welcoming & friendly. Super cosy & cute vibe - felt like eating at a friend’s house. The owner is a sweetheart, so lovely & friendly. Really made my day 😊

Lovely place ! - The owner is SO kind and caring and the food is amazing ! The vibe of the space feels homey and warm. There’s not enough vegan restaurants / options in Oxford compared to other cities, which is awful really. So this place for us is a god send - Can’t wait to go back ! Thank you so much.

We were outside the restaurant today from 3:05 pm to 3:40 pm, but no one answered the door or picked up the phone. We were looking for pure vegetarian food and believed this place was our best option, so we travelled for about 50 minutes to get there, only to receive no response. If the restaurant is closed, they should inform customers.

Dear owner. I was greatly disappointed with the experience I had recently. We ordered two of your Thalis for 2 people. We waited for quite some time before being given an apology and served with a samosa each. We received 1 plate and were told that the contents were for 2 . The lentil curry was cold and very bland. The potato and aubergine curry was more like a soup- only found 1 small piece of potato and 2 pieces aubergine-rest was soup. The peas curry was ok but cold. With this we had 2 halves of papadam , 2 rotis and 2 very small puris (very hard and crispy) . Between us we were served 3 burnt pakoras… think we had more chutneys than pakoras. And some rice with raita. We were told that we can have top ups on the curries and rice. As we had been fasting (ekadashi day) we were famished. We were not offered any top ups .. till we had totally finished. We were given some desserts … again the quantities I regret were tiny. For this meal we paid £60 . I do not mind paying the money but as I am also a businessman I believe in value for money . You put a lot of effort in making us feel welcome but that is only a small part of satisfying customers .. I have myself been in business over 34 years.

A very very good restaurant for both vegans and non-vegans! The dishes were delicious, full of flavors, freshness and surprises. Just like the drinks! (lemonade, lassi, homemade herbal teas) The welcome is also very pleasant. Service was very friendly which was awesome but ultimately understaffed as everything took a while. We received some of our drinks after our main course (>1.5 hours) and we were charged for a roti we never received in the end. It was also freezing inside as the door was kept open for some reason. My feedback would be to not accept tables you cannot attend to properly without more staff.

I had the pleasure of celebrating my birthday at Jaya's exquisite restaurant, where along with a group of friends, I indulged in a delightful three-hour cooking class focused on crafting various types of bread. Every moment of the experience was truly exceptional. Jaya's genuine passion for her culinary creations shines through, and her skills as a teacher are outstanding. Throughout the class, we delved into the intricacies of different spices and their harmonious combinations, perfected the art of rolling out dough to achieve the ideal thickness, and relished in the joy of creating an array of delicious bread varieties, all at a remarkably reasonable price. We were also treated to a yummy spread of snacks and drinks that tied a beautiful bow around the experience. The service and athmosphere were both great, it felt like being in somebody's lovely home. I would wholeheartedly recommend this place both for eating in or trying a cooking class for anyone seeking to deepen their understanding and appreciation of Indian cuisine. So much fun! 10/10!!!

The restauranteur, who is very warm and friendly, talked us through each course and the various culinary traditions across the length of India that they represent. Delhish true to the name is a total Vegan restaurant. For people looking for simple, plain non-spicy food it’s a nice little place with lots of character. Staff were very kind and ready to serve food Inspite of us showing up in the last minute before closing down.not a bit of frown on their faces and they served us with utmost hospitality. Food could have been better. We were served puri and felt it was oily. Chat was spot on reminded me of good old days when I ate chat in India 🇮🇳 vegetable curries felt like they were just boiled and added a bit of masala. They could have been cooked and a bit of flavour could help. Over all it was a good experience and no regrets. I necessarily would not choose to go again for the money I spend.

Not only does this place serve some of the best Indian food I have ever tasted but it has a great atmosphere, a kind staff, a huge range of options and a charming homeliness about how the restaurant is run and decorated. It is also worth mentioning that 4 of us ate a huge range of food and drink. Indian Vegan is exotic and yummy! While vegetarian is common in India, vegan food can be challenging to make in India. This is because dairy is an integral part of the vegetarian diet. Sad to say that the service was beyond abysmal and unbelievably slow. We'd been there an hour before we could order our food - I had to get up and ask the owner for our order to be taken as we hadn't seen a staff member for ages. The waitress forgot some of our drinks, several times. We politely reminded her each time she came over and it was only on the 3rd or 4th time that she remembered to get the drinks we were missing. The owner came over with our mains and said we'd be getting two extra samosas and a complimentary drink but these never came. Our waitress seemed to have no idea what was going on at any point. She was constantly confused and overwhelmed. I think it may have been her first night and therefore I feel really conflicted writing this review. However, the truth is, if it was her first night, she was not getting the support she needed from the owner. It's not her fault here, she needed a lot more training and to start on a quieter shift. We received one set of cutlery the whole evening (we were a group of 6) and had to scavenge cutlery from an adjacent empty table because 20 minutes would pass before we'd see a member of staff again. Food was delivered to the table and staff rapidly vanished before we could say anything. One of our starters was forgotten and when the waitress was reminded, she was confused and then came back later saying that we had never ordered it. Food was really really average for the price. Curries were quite bland. Sharing platter looked impressive but the deep fried bits were really greasy and not pleasant. At the end, we were billed for the complimentary drink (the one which never arrived!). This was corrected but the owner seemed to think we'd received it when this was not the case. It wasn't just us - the table next to us were genuinely left alone without service for 2 hours after their mains. This was the 2nd time I've visited Delhish. The first time, we turned up at the time of our booking and waited inside the door for 15 minutes, with nobody coming to seat us. I attracted the attention of several staff but was told to wait. We saw a family who had been sitting down when we arrived and they had not even received menus and looked very annoyed. In the end, we said that they seemed too busy to serve us and left after being told we'd be waiting another 10 minutes (a full 30 minutes after the time we booked). Delhish does not live up to the hype. Looking at the great reviews on here and TripAdvisor, I wonder if I ate in the same restaurant?! Better food and certainly better service could be had at literally any other Indian restaurant in Oxford. Owner seems like a lovely person and I wish her the best, but it's not really OK to allow the service to be this bad.

Great Place! I really enjoyed my time there, especially since all the staff were so nice! The food was delicious, and seemed quite authentic, although that meant it was a bit too spicy for me. However, when the owner noticed I was finding it too hot, she offered to make another curry, with some vegan yoghurt on top to cool it down, and that really made my day! It had a very homely feel, and my vegan friend said it was very nice to just have an all vegan place, so she didn't have to worry about whether there were animal products when ordering. I would definitely go there again!

As I have coeliac disease I was not impressed when I saw the worker handling gluten with the same gloves as my gluten free meal

I have been coming to this restaurant a few times in the past years, food is consistently excellent, as well as service and ambiance. Usually is not too busy or loud restaurant, and I enjoy the 80s/90s music style that is usually being played. I love their burger, rosemary chips and mocktails. They always served me with a smile and interest. Overall 5* from me.

For our family, eating here is like 'coming home'. The home made food, with fresh ingredients, all cooked from scratch, with great cooking happening in front of you, the emphasis in food (those bright colours of the veg in display!) and the service from the staff is hard to find anywhere!
