Great spot right across from our hotel. Super friendly staff and beautiful food. Would highly recommend. The lunch menu is great value and has some really good options.

Wow. First time trying here and I must say I was impressed. Firstly the service was on point, the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The decor was really nice and up to date. The food was absolutely phenomenal. It was really tasty and well presented. Had the butter chicken, rice, chips and garlic naan. Had to follow it up with a dessert, which was lovely. Couldn't fault any of it. Yes, it is a little pricey, but it was well worth it. 10/10

Top marks! Delicious food, pleasant friendly staff and nice atmosphere in a lively building. The Goan prawn curry with lentil and raisin rice was delicious (just wish they'd added more prawns). Pawri Time fruit drink was delicious (elderflower, apple, lemon and mint) not too sweet. Efficient service (an hour for a small group). Surprisingly didn't need a reservation. Highly recommend this restaurant!

The food was amazing. We had the chicken biryani (full of flavours) the amritsari fish is a must try.

Food taste is above average but nothing amazing but what made every thing worst was how cheap (not in a good way) the whole meal felt. First of all kulcha naan we ordered, who serves half a naan? i really don't understand what are they going to do with rest of it and when I asked the waitress and all I got was yeah we only give 2 pieces. £4 for half a kulcha???? Now let's move on to presentation who serves naan or any other flat bread in a small chips strainer it really seemed like they ran out of plates and decided to use that instead. We also ordered Buttered Chicken Naan Pizza and let me tell you there was no naan it was khobez with topping on top. Nothing wrong with but it kinda miss leading if you way naan and there is something completely different from a naan. Now let's go to the service for location and costs of the items on the menu I expect a decent service but not here other than taking order the staff didn't care about anything else. I know I don't want to disturbed when I am eating but after bring the food the waitress never came back to check if everything was OK I had to call her after 10 min or so that's when I asked about the missing half of the naan and the naan (khobez) pizza wasn't cut properly and in the response all I heard was 'yeah we only give two pieces' and on pizza no response i decided to not bother calling her again and finish my food. There was a little currys left so when she came to being the bill I asked for it to me packed. So all I got was a box on my table with a bag so in other words do it yourself. At this point they might as well have told me to collect my good from the kitchen I would have been fine with that. The standards of service at this place are really poor and I think I wouldn't be returning anytime soon mogli is just next door is much better. Oh yeah so if after all that u though oh I wouldn't be tipping cause of their horrible service well I charged 5% on the bill so there is no going around that.

The ambience of the place was great. However, the food was very bad. We ordered rotis, different types of naans, kulcha and to our surprise, everything was bad. The portions were also small. And the prices are not at all worthy of the taste, service and the portion. I would personally not recommend this place based on our experience. Maybe ours was one of the worst cases, based on so many positive reviews.

We went to Manchester for a day out and ended up at the corn exchange for lunch, l had never heard of Delhi House before and it was a very good find. It was Monday so there weren't a lot of staff but they were friendly and efficient, l had the Lamb Biryani with ricotta on the side which well with the meat and rice.

Yummy food - must try are Butter Chicken, Papadi chat, Chicken tikka masala.Good ambience and great staff. The portions are small and need to be kept in mind while ordering. Overall a good experience.

The Naan/roti size doesn't match the price.

We didn’t have reservation on a busy Friday evening, but they squeezed us in when no other local restaurants would even try! We only had a main course, but it was excellent also the was Service was exceptional, special mention for Tushita

Second time visiting this place. The mains were good both times. They have plenty of vegetarian and vegan options. Rating down becuase I am taken aback by the pricing on the sides and the soft drinks. The butter naan that is £3.5 is too small for the price. I would need to order 2x or 3x that, which is a lot to spend on bread. The fruit juices were £3.5 for a glass and taste the same as the Indus Guava 2L for £3.5. I just expected something better for the price on these items.

Couldn’t wait to leave a review, particularly because of the wonderful Maitre D’ on Thurs 12th, don’t know the gentleman’s name but he was so smiley and created such a lovely atmosphere- the food and other staff were also excellent but he was such a credit to the restaurant and will ensure our return :)

We stumbled across this place when they first opened 4+ years and since then we always pop in when we are in the area even if we just go for some India tea. The service is always superb and from the owner to the waiters they all can’t do enough for their customers.

Visited today on a whim, food was delicious however a small wait on the food (understandable due to a busy Saturday night). Scarlet was extremely attentive and her suggestions were spot on. will be revisiting !

Come here on the weekend just gone, service was terrible waited nearly 2 hours for our mains. Servers just stood around chatting rather than taking drinks orders. Food was very nice though when it eventually come.

I had a terrible experience at this restaurant. The food quality was shockingly poor and lacked flavor. The dishes were cold when they arrived, and the portions were ridiculously small for the price. To make matters worse, the service was absolutely dreadful. Assigned staff for my table was rude, inattentive, and took forever to bring our order. It seemed like they couldn’t care less about the customers. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Save your money and go somewhere that values good food and proper service.

I just want to say read all the one or two stars reviews. They all make sense, we went after looking in Christmas markets, so hungry didn’t look for reviews just show the menu and went there. That was it please read all the bad reviews

Beautifully presented and fantastically priced savoury halal indian cuisine. We've passed Delhi House many times walking to The Arndale, but today from peering at the window menu we decided to give it a try. Firstly the venue is situated in the heart of The Corn Exchange which is already a beautiful place as is! We were seated swiftly, a beautiful little eatery with ample seats both inside and out! We opted for trying the Butter Chicken Naan Pizza as the name intrigued us, the Chicken Tikka (a reliable staple) and a side order of the Black Daal, alongside some Chilli Cheese Naan, Garlic Roti and Desi Chai. Food was freshly prepared and served very quickly with incredibly generous deep-bowl portion sizes; even split between three of us there was enough lentils to take home!! The lentils were addictingly savoury and a must try side dish, the pizza was a delightful experience and the tikka had just as big a bowl with some chunky pieces! Succulent, creamy, sweet and delicious, we couldn't believe the portion sizes for the cost! An amazing almost unbeatable value for money! Complimentary tap water was offered, which infused with cucumber slices was actually very refreshing! The star of the show however wasn't rooted in the food, but the impeccable staff who left such an astounding impression I actually called the venue to thank them. A personal thank you to Rose in particular who was the kindest server I have ever met at a restaurant, she had a cheery upbeat demeanour and served with a bright smile and made sure our experience was as best as it could be. The kindness in the experience she provided alone is testament to the quality of Delhi House, and I hope that the owners pass on generous thanks, recognition, and incentives to staff this nice. It is a hard working role and appreciating this brilliant display of work is just as imperative. Thank you Rose for representing Delhi House so well, I hope these kind words leave your day as brightened as ours. We will absolutely be reccomending others here and you will see us again!

I have been making my own ‘restaurant’ base sauce and curries for quite some time as we love ‘curry’. This has led to us mostly being disappointed when we have Indian cuisine out. Not this time however, it was beautiful, and the service was on point as well. Nan breads could be bigger but that is the only small point, and other than that it was lovely. Picked a few spice ideas up as well to try. Will definitely be back.

This was one of my best Indian food I had in Manchester. Enjoyed the food even though it was take away due to unavoidable situations. I can imagine this must be great if u have at restaurants. A friend had recommended this restaurant. I wanted to try it and both my husband and I are extremely disappointed. The manager was helpful while we ordered food. Having told her it was our first time at this restaurant good practice would of been to check in with us at the end of the meal. She never even give us eye contact!! The food is poor quality. We dine out several times a week and are well experienced at dining out snd enjoy Indian food. I have had better take aways than this restaurant quality of food is very poor. Extremely disappointed to say the least!!

The smallest portion of naan bread you'll ever see, it was essentially two small slices that would be impossible to share. The shahi paneer curry was delicious.

Stumbled upon this gem outside of the Football museum - all I can say is wow wow wow, everything I ate just exploded with flavour in my mouth. The menu is filled with Indian favourites and some lesser known stars! Definitely a must try in Manchester or Liverpool…definitely a return trip.

I had been to Delhi House Cafe last night with my friends and I thoroughly enjoyed the dishes and service. They stand out from other Indian restaurants with their unique dishes. Palak Patta chaat and Achari Paneer Tikka were my personal favourites in starters and Punjabi Mutton Keema in main course! Service was polite and friendly too!

My recent dining experience with Delhi House Cafe was nothing short of amazing! The food and service was on point. I kept my hopes high for the main courses as the starters were simply awesome! I tried the Pan seared lemon fish for my main course and it’s nothing but a delicious art! That was a completely new dish to me and I enjoyed every bit of it. The service was prompt and friendly. I had a wonderful experience with Delhi House cafe and the ambience was indeed a cherry on top! Would definitely be back!

I loved my recent visit to Delhi House cafe. I usually don't leave reviews but couldn't resist myself from doing it this time. The food served was fresh and piping hot and the Lamb Nihari was nothing short of a master piece. I went for one of the expensive dishes but every single penny was worth it. The servers were polite and friendly and even water served was fancy with mint and cucumber.. Cant wait to go back.

Lived in Delhi for 25+ years so went there with high expectations. Chhole kulche 5/5. Very good. Ambience is quite good as well and the decor is nicely done with great attention to detail. Vada pav was average and starters are a bit overpriced in general. Service can be way better and decent amount of work left to do in that area. If the vision for the restaurant is actually what is written on the wall, working on SOPs and paying attention to the people being hired will go a long way. Wish you all well. Hope you succeed. :')

DO NOT BELIEVE ALL OTHER GOOD REVIEWS. They are fake! Prices are close to Dishoom, but food is nowhere near! We know good food, and this wasn’t it. Portion sizes are so small is silly. We paid £10.95 for the Afghani chicken tikka, which was four tiny pieces of chewy chicken, with a tiny bit of salad. The Achari Paneer tikka, again for £10.95, was also totally over priced. three small pieces of paneer with tiny red pepper on the top. Not particularly tasty and not worth the money. If you order nann bread be prepared to receive a tiny piece that has been cut in half. The ladies toilets are also worth a mention. So hot and small. Would give anyone a panic attack After our visit I can only conclude that all the other reviews are fake. The only good thing was the service, which was polite and swift.

Great food. We’ve been a few times now, and it’s consistently super tasty, authentic Indian cuisine. Both kids and adults love the food. Strongly recommend the Dahi Puri, and the smokey Old Fashioned is excellent. Super friendly, helpful staff, in a relaxed atmosphere, serving excellent food. Happy times!

We had a lovely afternoon of drinks here sitting outside in the sun. Amazing atmosphere and staff. Our server Dan was great with us and with my baby.

We went to this restaurant over a weekend on Sunday. It has good outside seating, we were sat at the back of the restaurant on the street side in lovely weather. Ordered spinach bhaji chat, butter paneer and biryani. Loved the chat as a starter and little liking towards butter paneer as well. However biryani was not authentic at all, tasted more like pulav. Service was prompt and attentive. Worth going once.

Visited DHC on a Sunday afternoon for lunch with 3 friends. 2 of us were experienced with Indian food and had clear ldeas of what constitutes 'good' or 'authentic'...2 less so. The place itself is very pleasant...situated in the Corn Exchange building opposite the Arndale Centre and Printworks. The Corn Exchange has a big central atrium area with several restaurants located around it. This allows you to choose a table 'inside' the restaurant or 'outside' in a terrace area...which is still all inside but gets the benefit of lots of natural light through the glass atrium roof in the daytime. So that's the good stuff. Unfortunately it all goes downhill from here.... Firstly...the prices at DHC are much higher than you would pay for Indo/Pak food anywhere in Mcr other than maybe Dishoom or Asha's. I knew this before visiting as I looked at menu...but i do believe that these prices can be justified if the dishes served are of higher quality and execution. Unfortunately...at DHC the prices were high and the standard of the dishes was at best average and at worst...not good. As a group we ordered the following; Pani puri Tandoori lamb chops Lamb seekh kebab Paneer tikka Chicken tikka Lamb shank nihari Desi chicken curry Chicken biriyani The pani puri, paneer tikka and Chicken tikka were decent but the tandoori lamb chops and lamb seekh kebab were very average. The thing that really annoyed me however was the pricing. For 3 small/thin lamb chops that you can get in every Indo-Pakistani place in Mcr for around £8...DHC charged a whopping £17!!!! At that price I expected to receive 3 thick lamb chops (which is not the standard at most places) or 6 regular thin chops. £17 for 3 thin lamb chops is...in my opinion...daylight robbery! The same applied to the lamb seekh kebab...not only was it average in flavour, it cost around £13 for 3 small pieces when you can get the equivalent anywhere in Mcr for half the price. Nevertheless I reserved judgement for the mains...and this is where it got even worse. Lamb shank nihari at DHC is priced at £22...again almost double what you can get it for at a lot of other places. But when the dish came out and I tasted it...it had no resemblance to how a nihari should taste! For reference...a nihari is a slow braised lamb or beef dish from Pakistan which has a unique blend of spices...predominantly fennel and black pepper (plus maybe 5 or 6 more)...which give it a very particular flavour. There are regional variations to the dish but if you have tasted a proper nihari you will always recognise the taste. I have made and eaten countless variations of nihari all over the world...Mcr (there are some places that make amazing nihari here), London, Dubai, Delhi, Lahore...even Singapore and Malaysia...so I think I know what I am talking about when it comes to this dish. Anyway...this nihari was NOT A NIHARI. It was a decent lamb shank curry but it wasn't what was I or my other nihari fan friend wanted or expected...so I mentioned to the waiter that I wasn't happy. A few minutes later the manager came to our table to ask if we were OK and I explained all the above. His response - while polite - was laughable. He told us that the nihari we had in front of us was totally authentic and it was made with a blend of 32 herbs and spices! Now here's my issue. No nihari on Earth is made with 32 herbs and spices. I'm a pretty experienced cook when it comes to Indo-Pakistani food and I can probably list around 40 herbs and spices that I know are used for every single dish I am familiar with!!! If you took 32 of these and put them all in 1 dish you would create a monstrosity that would be inedible. Anyway...I didn't like the nihari...and the desi chicken curry was just a bog standard chicken curry in a spiced tomato-based sauce. I don't know what made it 'desi' at all but I wasn't going to complain again! The chicken biriyani was good...but not enough to make up for everything else. I won't be going back to DHC. Its average food at a price that simply isn't justifiable for what you get.

We went for dinner after some recommendations. Chat Starters were good. Palak patta chat was the best! Lamb nihari was average compared to other authentic restaurants. Goan prawn curry was an absolute disaster. I might visit again but mainly for starters.

Brought my daughter on Saturday night before the arena. Luckily we got in quote early as before we knew it the ace was full. Delhi House lager was nice and my daughter had an espresso martini reasonably priced the food was amazing. Had to write this as I was served by my namesake Mike who was superb throughout the visit keeping us informed of waiting times and kept us lubricated. A thoroughly good place make sure you visit this place when you're in the vicinity.

We had a fairly large group. The staff dealt well generally but forgot some orders and drinks were slow to be brought at times. But overall staff attentive. Food was across the board very tasty although portion sizes were a bit on the small size for the price, which is typically £15 for a main which comes with a sundry. Soft drinks seem quite expensive too and typically bottles of coke etc. Seating was plentiful and the music not too loud.

We went for dinner on a reasonably busy Saturday, without a booking, and were seating immediately by a friendly member of staff. Drinks were offered quickly, and arrived quickly. Food took a while to arrive after we ordered but everything tasted fresh so the wait seemed reasonable and everything arrived together. The food was great - mains were piping hot, and everything was wonderfully cooked, and so tasty. Would highly recommend the Gulab Jamun sundae dessert! All staff we interacted with were polite and so courteous and friendly. Also a really reasonable price considering the high quality of the food and service! Thank you. We will be back. Side note, although we didn’t have any special dietary requirements, we noticed that the menu had a page for just their vegan items, and another for just their gluten free items, which we thought was a thoughtful touch.

We decided to try Delhi because the menu looked so interesting and we weren’t disappointed. The food was lovely and all the young staff were very friendly which enhanced our experienced and we will be recommending it to our friends. Special mention to Stevie who was doing his first shift that night and carried out his duties very professionally.
